6161  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Do we need / does anybody want a single moderated announcement thread? on: April 30, 2019, 12:10:25 AM
I could see this as being pretty helpful. Below is my "master list" I keep updated with all collectible websites (Live & No Longer In Use).  I could add a "Current Btalk [ANN] Sales" section at the top perhaps ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Very cool.  I didn't know this existed.  Maybe this is the thread that should be stickied, if one is to be?  Any chance you could add who makes which products?  I'm laughably ignorant when it comes to who makes what and seem to offend users when I ask them if they make a product.  I've actually made enemies just for asking that question, seriously.

I plan to keep updating it and will probably add something like that.

Perhaps also the release date or announce date. But this way you could look at 1 thread and know (somewhat) what has come out since the last time you looked.
No mintage / no other detail. Just look this was announced, click here to find out more. Some people might care about Nastyfans coins others might care more about CryptoImperator. Others care about all of them but like me might not have time to look. Or might be off the forum for a few days or a week and then have to slog through 2 or 3 pages. Between people selling their stuff, people discussing stuff it's easy to miss the announce threads.

-Dave

I see what you’re saying. That would be pretty convenient.

6163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Playoffs Prediction Pool(REGISTRATION CLOSED) on: April 29, 2019, 03:32:37 PM
Whoops I meant to type "Nuggets vs Blazers - Blazers in 7".  Thanks for the heads up and apologies.

Yes there's two LA's in the NBA  Smiley  I also accidentally typed DET instead of the Milwaukee Bucks but yeah that was just a dumb error on my part  Cry
6164  Economy / Reputation / Re: Be Your Own Bank - opinions on: April 29, 2019, 03:01:26 PM
"We ALL think it"...Not sure who she's talking about as I've yet to hear anyone say anything negative about your series, or even hint at it being a stolen/plagiarized idea.

"Be Your Own Bank" is certainly a popular BTC saying, and not something anyone owns. It's no different than people adding "Vires In Numeris" to their coins (which many have). I don't see it as anything more than a way to attack you and your reputation.
6165  Economy / Collectibles / Re: WTB- Doge Nascar Coin / Model Car on: April 28, 2019, 11:00:46 PM
Is this the 1:24 or the 1:64 scale car?

I couldn’t tell you. I didn’t know there’s two model types until now.

I have an autographed version of Josh Wise’s dogecoin car that I would potentially part with. Has his signature on the windshield - I believe it is the 1:24 type but I could double check.

Thanks for letting me know!  I ended up being able to find one.

Unbelievable, I accidentally had Det in 5 instead of the Bucks. No way I'd have picked the Bucks to lose. Damnt!!   Angry

Some fun games so far.

ManzCoin may be my greatest find yet. NOT just having to do with physical crypto, but just anything, period. What attracted me most?  A better Satoshi central figure, as well as none of that blockchain bullshit. Large blocks, small blocks, that bs is just one huge distraction.

Decent thread. Has been on my mind not long ago as well. However, I'm more annoyed by the lack of widespread availability of proper dead man's switches. A will is not going to be that useful in cases where your security is very high, unless you want it only to cover collectibles or you want to store keys/passphrases in it (which would be a fatal mistake).

Expensive sir, must feed family. When free e-book version?
Why would a will not be a good idea in this circumstance? You can keep your will private. Lock it in a bank safety deposit box, keep it at a safety storage place, hide it somewhere...etc.  What are your other options ?
Security through obscurity is not security. None of what you listed is safe. Some may argue that those deposit boxes are actually safe since it isn't just obscurity. However, wherever you rent something like that out you are pushing security through trust (e.g. trust that the bank will not compromise it; that it won't be robbed, etc.) not math.

Well then what would you suggest? You've got to have some sort of plan. Some plan is better than no plan, right?

If you own a collectible with the private key made by someone else and you think a "I promise I didnt keep the keys" is good enough.. then a bank is essentially just as safe.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

6174  Other / Meta / Re: is it plagiarism? on: April 23, 2019, 02:51:34 PM
Basically, as long as you linked the source article, you're going to be fine. The bans are for those who copied content without giving proper credits to the original source/writer.

You are going to be fine in this forum. (This forum will not ban you for plagiarism.) You should also check for notes/footnotes of the source websites that prohibits you from copying their material for any reason. If there is any warning then I suggest you to not to use that source in this forum. (Generally every thing in free domain can be used but if it is paid content for member only then you will see the warning of no copying of their data/article.)

I would recommend checking the rules out yourself. This forum will not ban you for plagiarism aye? I was banned for one year for doing so.  I was also one of the first to be given a second chance. I was given that second chance because I truly care about Bitcoin, this forum, and helping others here.  You have no shot at being given a second chance after plagiarism if you aren't here for the right reasons, and 99.9% of the MANY people whom have been banned, will never get a second chance because they aren't.

I also agree, keep your properly sourced posts to a minimum. Learn from others, then form your own personalized information to help others.
6175  Other / Archival / Re: . on: April 23, 2019, 02:32:33 PM
Are those priv keys exposed in pic?

Looks to be partially exposed.  Don't know that you can sort out the full key from those shots.  Still, I might have blurred those out.

Why would you even want to use them? It's not that I don't trust Mike or MJ, but who knows who else had access to these. To me, this is more about a very rare piece of collectible history. If you wanted to load them yourself, which I don't know why you would considering you don't have Casascius holograms, just use your own keys.

Great topic Ty!

Came across this book thru a friend awhile back that am sure will answer a few questions

Cryptoasset Inheritance Planning: A Simple Guide for Owners

Thanks for sharing this Krogo. I am surprised to even see this was made, but it goes to show how important this is. I am on my soap box w/this one...but I care about everyone's well being and it's part of the reason I got in to the financial industry, to help my friends out.

Is there another one that has sold publicly, like... ever?

Ask Worth Point perhaps.
