6181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid falling into a FOMO trap on: November 22, 2019, 03:31:34 AM
Firstly, the most important thing here is how an Investor can identifying if a recent spike in price of a project is just a paid hype to create FOMO probably by developers to dump tokens on the greedy Investors hoping to capitalize on the spike to make some profit. Identifying this trap are quite easy as the movement of the price of each project tells a story. A healthy growth of a project concurs gradually but an unhealthy one can be identified with a spike which is mostly cause by whales or group of pump and dump traders manipulating the price of that project to draw attention to it.

Did a post sometime ago on; qualities worth developing as a crypto enthusiast (Investor). been skeptical was one project of those qualities as developing that will guide you in regards to trusting any project to fall for FOMO traps, understanding the reason behind those spike and not just blindly chasing them is a great way to avoid been a victim.
6182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the alternate plan - second option on: November 22, 2019, 03:12:03 AM
Same prediction were made for 2018 and when that bull market run everyone is waiting for didn't happen they shifted the prediction to 2019 and I could say the outcome haven't been that month watering as this supposedly expert declared. Now the prediction has been targeted at 2020 just because of the bitcoin halving event. I won't be surprised if #929 has sane fate as 2918/2019 as the cryptocurrency market is very unpredictable. 2020 might come and yet nothing will happen or probably just bitcoin recording some new highs.

To be in the safer side, I'll recommend owning as much bitcoin as possible but that doesn't mean you should neglect the altcoin as some selective ones, still has some fight in them in regards to delivery good ROI. If in 2020 market outcome isn't that promising, the plan should always involving hodling your bitcoin firmly and trading alts for gain.
6183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good trading volume doesn't mean a token is good on: November 22, 2019, 02:58:36 AM
Project like bitconnect which was a obvious Ponzi scheme projects had massive trading volume and at some point in 2017 was among the top 10-15 highest trading coin on coinmarketcap in regarda to market capitalization. After from this scenario, trading volume on Coinmarketcap can't be rely on, as it can be easily manipulate by the exchanges most especially the small ones.

Judging the credibility or legitimacy of a project should go beyond such projects been privilege to be listed on an exchanges whether small or top exchanges not forgetting this exchanges can list any tokens without considering the welfare if their customers, providing the listing fees are been met by this projects.
6184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 20, 2019, 08:55:24 AM
Now that Mourinho has been appointed manager of Tottenham will they really be contesting for a top 5 finish?

Mourinho silverwear record is very impressive, he has won atleast one trophy with every club he has managed and that's sometime Tottenham desperately need. Finishing top 5 is very possible since he (Mourinho) has all the experience a manager can ask off. His competition right now are Arsenal and Manchester United, Tottenham with or without Mourinho can finish top 5 above this guys without much stress, lets not forget they have been in the top 4 for the last four years. And Mourinho is a far better manager than Pochettino, he'll definitely bring out the best out of the team in regards to winning tournaments. Watch out for kane

I believe the question now should be, can Mourinho win Tottenham some silverware in the shortest time possible, my answer to that would be yes, Europa or Carabao Cup probably. Also lets keep a close eye on his first match in charge (against west ham) to see how the squad respond.
6185  Other / Meta / Re: The inclusion of large, unnecessary images in threads. Opinions? on: November 20, 2019, 03:35:10 AM
Not a fan to the unnecessary images (don't think I have even poster one before) but it seems I'm guilty of the large images, just viewed some of your examples then revisited some of my created threads to cross-check and compared like; The Xenophobic attacks on Africans by South Africans, what's your take on this and Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current Phase: Qualification and few others but notice I tried resizing the image as i can see I edited the image with the [width=***] code but in my defense, I'm using a mobile phone to access the forum so I might not be viewing the image as other advance smartphone users or those using a laptop to access the forum are, my bad.

I haven't received much complain also concerning my image size but as I review them it seems they're big. Apart from this one time
Honestly, I think it will be better if you present your contents in formal text, rather than infographics.
The infographics is hard to see, and space-consumed.
don't think it have ever occured to me, so maybe forum users should inform users regularly when they see this images so we can't adjust in time to make the discussion conducive to everyone.
6186  Other / Meta / Re: 10 years since Satoshi joined Bitcointalk on: November 20, 2019, 02:19:04 AM
You miss the perfect trio by some minutes, supposedly you login earlier, you would had gotten the exact minute Satoshi created his account. You got the date, hour but miss the minute by 41 minutes.

Anyways big congratulations to everyone for being around to witness this forum achieve a celebratory milestone and happy forum anniversary to the man that single handed changed the way money is been presume in the 21 century. Wish I had some art skills to contribute to this celebration and art competition but i got nothing on me, just contributing by viewing the submitted lol probably merited one or two that caught my interest.
6187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Simple idea on: November 20, 2019, 02:01:44 AM
but guess what? i decided to track my address last night using Etherscan and i saw all the tokens there, sometimes your tokens might have arrived in your wallet but you won't know until you track your wallet address or you manually add token contract address, thank you.

Lol, good one as this is a very vital information that not everyone is aware of and most likely will lead to the uninformed newbie to tag a project scam when it's just a misunderstanding from their part. This post just brought back old memories during my days of been an Airdrop hunter, as I engaged with airdrop managers severally on this issue reporting on not reciebymy reward and questioning the projects credibility.

Don't think this is still a problem though as most project I have seen usually have this inform pinned or repeated severally on their telegram groupchat, informing the community to add custom tokens contract.

Well, Poch was sacked before Solskjaer, Emery, Valverde, Marco Silva...Crazy!  Grin

That's football for you and why the premier is the most entertaining league of them all, few months back I remaining poch celebration Tottenham comeback against Ajax to reach the champions league finals like he has just won the championship league few months later he's sacked. Although poch kept Tottenham in the top four in the last four years, most of it they weren't playing like contender and this season is even worst as they have been very poor so it's coming as no surprise.

Here's an appointment I'll love to see, Mourinho gets appointed as Spurs manager. Emery gets sacked by Arsenal and Pochettino gets appointed as Arsenal manager. Then probably Emery moves to West Ham. Saw this somewhere on twitter and i love it.
6189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: November 19, 2019, 05:22:24 PM
Chelsea could seriously compete for the title in a few seasons but they’re way too inexperienced at the moment. Liverpool and City have been there & done it, they are far better equipped for a season long assault at the big trophies.

I have my bet on Chelsea winning Manchester city or atleast putting on a wonderful display to give her supporters some positive things to talk about and probably end up taking a point from the game. Lossing to Manchester United could be excuse as Lampard was still fresh and probably experimenting on the players and getting to know them. Lossing to Liverpool wasn' that disappointing to me as they're currently the best team in Europe and England but you see lossing to Manchester City, that would be just disappointing especially as City aren't the city they were two season back and not forgetting they have already lost 3 matches in just 12 games.

If Chelsea are to compete for the title be it in this season or future seasons, we have to fix our defense as their inexperience is costly us alot of goals.
6190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you lured someone in Gambling? on: November 19, 2019, 05:00:03 PM
he is guilty of this because he did not know that he will be luring his friend to gambling, because of that treat.
How about have you lured someone to gambling and what will you do if you did?

I haven't lured anyone as I'm not much of a gamblers, I only introduced my friends to the type of gambling I'm doing and leave them to decide whether they'll be comfortable to follow my fullsteps or not. On the contrary I was the one who was lured into gambling but it wasn't by a friend but from an advertisement from a cryptocurrency related sportbooks I saw online.

On the other hand, when it comes to promoting a brand, I have lured many into patronizing the projects I advert instead of patronizing other competition although I'm not aware if they pick interest on other gambling opportunities those platform offers as I'm mostly into sport betting.amd that's my recommendation.
6191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: November 19, 2019, 04:44:41 PM
More or less, this sounds like a tasteless joke to me. How come this hit his mind that bitcoin needs altcoin in order to survive in this world when bitcoin is the first digital currency. It is the backbone of altcoins. They cant even think about existing without the king. Bitcoin never depended on any asset, either physical or digital for its survival. Even no other entity of the world helped it in making so far.

Don't get me wrong, i have huge respect for bitcoin but the rate at which this industry has grown to, there are some things you can't take out of the industry which involves; stablecoins, privacy coins (bitcoin isn't that anonymous), dApp platforms to build on e.g ethereum, etc that's just to mention a few. The industry won't have gone this far with just bitcoin. Just compared the first five years of bitcoin with the last five years and evaluate the difference.

Bitcoin was the first but it's becoming too complicated for the average individuals as fees are becoming too high, time for confirmation is on the increase too, segwit address is yet to be welcomed by many to reduce fees/confirmation time etc. Bitcoin can't take the industry to the next level alone that's a fact bitcoin maximalist are yet to understand.
6192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Question] The First Digital Currency You Can Mine On Your Phone on: November 19, 2019, 04:30:36 PM
Firstly your average mobile phone weren't meant for mining so I don't buy into the idea as it'll be putting your smartphone at the risk of battery life short span. If smartphone companies interested in cryptocurrency (like HTC, Samsung etc) were to invest into manufacturing smartphones that could be use for this purpose without endangering the lifespan of the phone then i won't have a problem. Thirdly be extremely cautious of any project adverting themselves as the next bitcoin via price gain as that's a common marketing strategy employed by scammers to create FOMO among greedy cryptocurrency enthusiast to steal their funds.

Conclusion; there's nothing that special about this project, nothing new like others have stated. We have seen different projects come out with exact idea and most of them aren't progressing per se, this won't be any different.
6193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: GameCredits (GAME) - Up 230% - What Happened? on: November 19, 2019, 10:05:18 AM
Gamecredit has just around 69+ millions coins in circulating (probably less than that would be available on exchanges been actively traded), before the sudden spike in price, it was trading around 2cent ($0.02 +/-) meaning just a whale or a pump amd dump group could have trigger the spike to create FOMO after their announcement was made on twitter.  I did a rough calculation and with just $1,400,000 the circulating supply of the coin would had been bought off.

Meaning you should apply caution on this project, one of the vital lesson I have learnt from my stay in the industry is, coins that suddenly spike up in price also dump quickly. The safety and healthier way for a coin to increase is slowly and steadily. This could just be a clever way for developers to dump their remaining tokens on the market, don't be fooled as this isn't a healthy growth.

6195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. on: November 18, 2019, 08:06:15 PM
When the project is paying bounty hunters with eth or BTC he is actually spending money and investing in his project, not creating money out of nowhere.
This is true, and any altcoin bounty that pays that way is almost not going to be a scam project, because if you analyze it, if a project are advertising their coin, but are paying in more established coins like BTC and ETH, it shows they are really ready to develop their coin and are aware it'll take them sometime to actually get somewhere.

Great choice of words as your "almost" made the different as projects adverting in BTC or other established cryptocurrency doesn't gaurantee they won't scammed the participants be it via paid signature campaign or bounty campaign. Previously we have recieved reports involving such scenario especially when the campaign isn't managed by a reputed manager and funds weren't escrowed.

Also, most BTC/ETH bounty paying campaign uses the staking allocation method, promising hunters a distribution at the end of the campaign then they scam the participants by not paying. Usually, the bitcoin paying method is just a trick to draw in more patronizers to promote their shitproject (scams) to a larger audience. Just be vigilant, scams are everywhere.
6196  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM Alert] Mutual Alliance high return Ponzi scheme... on: November 18, 2019, 07:31:15 PM
The reference post has been deleted although, it's still worth tagging the user to warn newbie incase the user decide to create a new thread in the future to promote same or other ponzi related businesses. Negative feedback left on account. Good job OP, keep it up.
6197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current Phase: Qualification. on: November 17, 2019, 08:33:53 PM
It's actually quite shameful on the part of DSTV because they are based in Africa and we are unable to watch the African Cup of Nations qualifiers meanwhile we are able to watch the European qualifiers. Anyways Nigeria are currently leading Lesotho by 3 goals to one which is not very surprising.

Don't mind them although in their defense they're going after the demand of their customers and general public. AFCON qualification aren't that much of a big deal, the main tournament is where everyone is interested in, some just prefer seeing the scoreline or rewatching highlight of the qualifiers but still they're Africans best sport cable providers, they can do better. The match Nigeria vs Lesotho ended 4-2 in favor of Nigeria.

Goals from Osimhen (2goals and 2 assists), Iwobi and Chukwueze secured Nigeria the win after falling behind by an earlier goal from Lesotho. Nigeria are at the top of their group.
6198  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Boublr - 200% after 100 hours (doubler) on: November 17, 2019, 08:13:30 PM
I just knew that it will land here because it deserves to be here, and no one is applying either, people here are wiser now,

A clear, very visible warning has already been posted on the thread informing any interested party to back off promoting the project or risk recieving a negative trust (red trust). I believe that's the main reason no one has showed interest. On several other occasions, we have seen individuals opt in to promote scams probably with their alts for monetary benefits even when the payment aren't assured. The fear of getting tagged is what's discouraging signature patronizers and not their smartness of identifying the project as scam per se.
6199  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Boublr - 200% after 100 hours (doubler) on: November 16, 2019, 08:24:18 PM
Supported and tagged without thinking twice 😁.
Zero tolerance to Ponzi scheme businesses (was a victim in my early crypto days without realizing what I was promoting/patronizing was a scam).
6200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current Phase: Qualification. on: November 16, 2019, 02:46:59 PM
The tournament is already living to expectations as it isn't shy of goals and also filled with outstanding display by the players.
I'm not closely following the full matches, but catching up on the highlights.

My cable provider (DSTV) package isn't giving me the opportunity to watch all the matches but surprisingly all EURO 2020 qualifiers are watchable. Well I'm also watching highlight of most of the matches since I have no choice than to watch what the cable network shows.

Round 2 fixures begins tomorrow and the next round would be played next year. I have no doubt in Nigeria winning their next opponents but just hoping the recent news on the future of the manager doesn't affect their mentality to cost them the game. News are spreading round of the intention of NFA to sack the manager with the reason he's underperforming.
