The Bitcoin network will "forget" a transaction if it remains unconfirmed for a few days. The Bitcoin is not lost, rather it will "return" to your wallet since, to the network (and your wallet), it is as if that transaction had never existed in the first place. You should be able to resend the Bitcoin, although that may depend on your wallet.
What is the transaction id of your transaction?

I recommend that you use Electrum. They have an android app and desktop program.
be sure bro i m slow net user so i don't think electrium is not iseful for me Electrum is an SPV wallet. It doesn't need a fast internet connection nor does it need to download the entire blockchain. It is one of the best SPV wallets out there.

It's not quite what I'm looking for, but it is close. The issue is that the show posts page of a user doesn't quite match up with the actual board nesting of the forum. For example, Exchanges should be in "Economy/Service Discussion/Exchanges" but on show posts, it comes out as "Economy/Exchanges". I don't get it, what you want is to be a list of all forum boards at one place? But why would you? You can simply open the main page and check it out.
None of the use from my personal opinion. ~Dr.Famous~
Please done postspam what you have no idea what you are talking about. The main page of the forum does not list every board that the forum has, and the nesting does not match what the show posts page shows. Is there a list of all of the forum boards here on Bitcointalk? Ideally it would be one that is always up to date so that I can do some futureproofing to my account price estimator site.
Like a sitemap or something? Bitcointalk.org sitemap does not look like the site map of an corporate site https://bitcointalk.org/sitemap.php?t=t&p=36The main board is different from having a list of boards. Something like a sitemap. That sitemap though is nowhere near what I need.

Ok, thanks, that is helpful. However. To take your explanation one step further - Does that mean I could theoretically "see" a public address already existing on, say... blockchain.info, before it was technically ever generated offline? That's the part I don't get. How is the address visible on these sites if the address was created offline? I can't see how they could already be there, that would a lot of data right? Thanks again and sorry for still trying to understand! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Yes, you can see every single possible address. These are visible because nothing an address does requires it to be "registered" onto the blockchain. An address is a special encoding of the RIPEMD160 hash of a SHA256 hash. To computers, these hashes are simply really big integers. Because we know the size of a RIPEMD160 hash (160 bits), we know what the biggest number that it can represent. This happens to be 2^160. Thus every address is already known because we know what all of the numbers between 0 and 2^160 are and can thus get the address without ever knowing the private key.

Ok, so I want to create a paper wallet. How does an address get created (BTC) on the blockchain, if you have no internet connection? I see it's possible, I just don't understand how it works, I'm missing something apparently - I see you can create literally thousands of addresses. What I don't get is how exactly they exist with no connection to the blockchain? are there millions of unused addresses out there? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Thank you. There is nothing about creating addresses that is like "registering" on the blockchain nor are they "assigned" by the blockchain. You generate addresses by generating a random number (the private key) and then manipulating that with hashes to get to the address. This is done offline. Technically every single address ever already exist, people just need to guess the private key for the address.

Hi, yes I replaced the new blank wallet.dat file with the backup one I reinstalled OS X via USB and reinstalled Bitcoin Core. Replaced the wallet.dat file with the one I had backed up. Quite lost at this point Thanks Go to File > Receiving Addresses. Do any of those addresses look familiar? If not, then the wallet may not be your wallet. Next we can also try to dump the private key to see if the wallet has it. Find an old address that you used before. Go to Help > Debug Window and click on the Console tab. Type into the box at the bottom where <address> is the old address. If the address is in the wallet, then you should see black text appear in the console window that starts with a '5', 'K', or 'L'. That is the private key for that address, DO NOT SHARE IT WITH ANYONE. If you do see it, then that means that the wallet is yours. If you see red text with an error, then the wallet may not be yours. Try doing that for a few addresses to make sure. If for each address you do get the private key, then try rescanning again. If you do not, make sure that you properly copied the wallet file and that Bitcoin Core is actually reading that wallet file.

Hi, im new here,im selling some prepaid cards, but guess what...i cant talk to the people that msg me,because ...you as a site instead of helping me sell and use escrow in your own forum, make me frustrated beein put to wait 6 minutes after each message i send,i dont see the logic here, you have captcha over captcha this wasnt necesarry!
Those are newbie restrictions to prevent people from simply making new accounts and then spamming the forum. As you post more and gain activity, you will rank up and the restrictions quickly disappear. I have two clients now,i cant talk with them in real time,i dont know where to get escrow,as u can see im trying to sell some prepaids...please help me! You can ask your clients to use another form of messaging. Or, you can just deal with it. Since your clients are also Bitcointalk members, they know about the restrictions and will understand why your responses are delayed. As for escrow, you can go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=855778.0 and ask on of the people listed there if they are willing to escrow for you.

I recommend that you get an offline computer, create a new wallet, and get an address from that wallet. Then send the Bitcoin from your hot wallet to that offline wallet.
Hey, does it really matter? I don't think anyone can break a 20 characters password It isn't just the password. You also have to consider some longevity things. If ECDSA is broken, then having your Bitcoin in a wallet that already has been spent from can result in the Bitcoin being stolen. There is also a consideration of whether your password has already been stolen or whether you have malware already on your machine.

Newbie question. I downloaded an Electum wallet. I have bought coins on Bitbargains and want to transfer to Electrum. How do I do that, Im guessing cut and paste the code in the Electum request tab?
If you go to the Receive tab, you should see a box labeled "receiving address". Copy that address, it should start with a "1". Go to the website and choose to withdraw from your wallet. It should ask for an address to send to. Paste the address you copied into the box and then follow the rest of the instructions to withdraw.

Sorry to sound like a total newb but whats the command for rescan? I tried -rescan but its not found and when i googled it it says that -rescan is no longer needed because it checks automatically so i must be doing something wrong.
edity:-i get method not found when i try -rescan
You do the same thing for reindexing. You have to start Bitcoin Core with the -rescan option. The instructions depend on your OS.

I was thinking it might be change addresses i will try unlocking the wallet and then trying again and see what happens if not i will try re indexing as danny says. I think i did recover this wallet a few months ago and i wouldnt have even noticed that it was giving me dodge addresses, Its just by chance that i checked on in block explorer yesterday .
Rescan, not reindex. There is a difference. Reindexing is not going to help. Since you mention the debug log im getting a lot of this if it means anything to you.
Those errors are useless. It just means you need to upgrade ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) The latest version doesn't have those errors look so scary. 2016-07-13 16:07:23 keypool reserve 15 2016-07-13 16:07:24 keypool keep 15 These two lines though show that your keypool has keys left.

Ok this address is a new receiving address 1Nm5NNUsZ9NDZrgLazS5bVpobx3rmEiUch, as you can see there have been transactions that can be traced back, I thought when i create a new address it should look like this 12bMxrSjoTfygNjC1GKp5r7PeXwkSkEBRE. Every new address i make link back to my other addresses for some reason or is that completely normal?
That is strange. It is most likely that these are change addresses that your wallet already used. It shouldn't be giving you change addresses. I think this may have to do with an empty keypool (I need to look this up though). It may be possible that the keypool is empty because you have used many new addresses but have not unlocked the wallet in order to allow the keypool to refill so it resorts to giving you change addresses. Can you provide the debug.log file?

Actually I was trying to understand how to launch an attack, for that purpose we require coding , so I wanted to know where can I get a start ?
It depends on the attack that you want to launch. If you don't know how to program, I would not recommend trying to do this. You will need to know how to do network stuff and sending bytes over the wire. You also need to know how Bitcoin networking works and how Bitcoin itself works in order to find viable attacks. Well I am from Computer Science background so I can code, and have undertaken computer networking class and have done some socket programming on Java, well if that's not gonna be sufficient then can you suggest something that is going to be worthy of a master thesis. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks A good place to start is to look at the documentation on how Bitcoin works on the technical level. All of that can be found here: https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-documentation. Then once you understand how Bitcoin works, you can think of ways to improve it and do that for your research.

How do I point armory to the right data folder when I have unchecked "let armory load bitcoin qt in background"? My bitcoin qt stores on a 2nd internal hard drive sdb.
You have to start Armory with the following option --satoshi-datadir=<path to datadir> where <path to datadir> is the path to your Bitcoin Core datadir.

So I have been reading a lot about Bitcoin for the past one month or so and I have come across various topics of research in Bitcoin, I previously thought of studying the deanonymizing attacks on bitcoin, but after some discussion with people over the community channel I realized that carrying out such attacks requires high machine power and simply cannot be achieved with your personal computer. I would like to know what all other aspects of Bitcoin can I research on which doesn't require high machine power? Apart from this how do you actually start the coding part, I have found few tutorials on youtube but they tell you about coding the transactions and stuff ...
The way that Bitcoin is designed is that it requires a lot of computing power to execute most attacks. Maybe you can try researching DoS attacks on Bitcoin nodes. What do you mean "the coding part"? What are you trying to code?
