6181  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: January 23, 2019, 11:13:19 AM
Using Freebitco.in as a Bitcoin wallet is not a good idea. Yes, it is a good choice if you want to earn the 4%+ interest on your coins, but centralized services are always more vulnerable to hacks, than hardware wallets and cold storage.

It is tempting to deposit a lot of coins into Freebitco.in to receive the interest, but it is very risky.

I will only deposit an amount of money into this site that I am comfortable to lose, in the event that something goes wrong. Freebitco.in has a very good track record for security and their cold storage strategy is very good, but it is still more risky than the options I mentioned.  Roll Eyes

That's good advice. If you don't own the private key you don't own the Bitcoin as the saying goes. We've been around for over 5 years and earned our reputation for being trustworthy and secure. Before working for freebitco.in I used to have a small part of my Bitcoins earning interest here as well as some invested elsewhere, but always keep the majority in my own wallets.

What I would advise against though is depositing funds and then signing up a load of fake referrals to claim multiple free-rolls every hour.

There are quite a few sites offering investments that you could diversify into. Don't put much in until you can work out they're not a scam though and then they might still be but you know of their likelihood of repaying, just don't put too much into these schemes, like the quin suggests.
6182  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Copay multisignature 2-3 to Electrum on: January 23, 2019, 01:42:38 AM
Hi have the xpriv of 3 signatures but when the wallet open after I put the xpriv show balance 0 and don't show transactions

Did you get the xprv from copay or electrum?

What derivation path did you use if its electrum. If its copay, it's likely your funds are stored in a change address and I'm not sure how to deal with that in that case.

Did you also import them under the multisig option in electrum?
6183  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Copay multisignature 2-3 to Electrum on: January 22, 2019, 10:12:47 PM
Can you find the xprv's? You'll have to try and use those if you can.

You can't use the seeds because one it bip39 and electrum doesn't use that by default so the easiest way to do this is to use the xprvs.

You're probably better off making a new wallet and transferring the funds to that however.

6185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Beginner Question "The provided Bitcoin address is not valid" on: January 22, 2019, 07:53:57 PM
Most likely you have made an electrum wallet that uses bech32 addresses (or as newbies know them, the thing starting with bc1 Grin).

I think the best method of getting around this is by going to make a new wallet, select standard wallet, create a new seed and click legacy. Then follow the previous instructions and you can send the coins there.

There is nothing to say that if you're holding the coins you can move them eto the segwit wallet while the fees are low and then the exchange should still accept them (hopefully). I'm nearly only using bech32 when I can it's a vast reduction in fees for sending transactions but you can leave the coins in the legacy wallet as you wish.
6186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Urgent Help Needed, All About Tried Everything! Could Lose My BTC on: January 22, 2019, 07:18:59 PM
OP, what country are you at university in. I'm a mod on a few forums and a lot of the time you can find the ip of the person and the data centre of origin. My college had WiFi provided by a local university and my computer science teacher told us how to see that it was them providing the Internet. It may just be in countries where universities were given Internet before locals though.

Do you have 2fa enabled? I'm guessing it's withdrawals you're stuck on. Do you have an auto withdraw address, you have to sign up with one AFAIK?

Accurate figures:
30 day miner rental + 30 day maintenance fees: 0.03898437
30 day revenue: 0.03993997

Profit is about 0.00095. Its alright I guess...

so that is 2.4% profit ratio

Yeah so it's quite good 25% APR.

I already got the money back its all good. I Dont like the wallet idea.

Grin check the hashnest discussion and support thread...

They didn't seem too interested. I'll just have to switch to btc.com when my next payout comes...

"

Live chat said it takes 5-7 working days. Let's hope it's not like hashnests working days...

@TheQuin Can you tell how many lottery tickets should I buy for increasing my FREE BTC rewards to +0.00001083 BTC?

I'm not sure lottery goes to that. I'm guessing it'll be a few billion if so because that's what the wagering one was. You may as well just badly use the multiply function with 1/30th of the balance wagered to get it up but the system is designed in a way to profit them for obvious reasons.
6192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Possible to generate public key without private key ? on: January 22, 2019, 01:20:59 PM
@pooya I'm not sure I entirely understand you on this one. How ere I was thinking that the private key to public key function will resemble a secure hash function otherwise it would be really easy just to crack.

@aplistir the hash160 doesn't mean there are leads public keys avaliable as you still need to sign your own public key and not your public key hash..
6193  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] 1000$ + Paypal [W] Bitcoin (Everyday trader is also needed). on: January 22, 2019, 02:01:45 AM
Escrow won't do very much when it comes to PayPal. @op, if you're serious about buying you should state your country and maybe someone will do f2f or bank cash deposits instead?
6194  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Direct Seller 10-50 BTC on: January 22, 2019, 01:55:34 AM
Looks like a scam anyway. You send the funds while you both hold the one private key.. I'm guessing they've thought thus through and gone with the common watching only scam trend or skmrtjing better they think of.

I do like how one can mess up so much. The title also says 10-20 btc while the thread says 2000 to 3000.
6195  Other / Meta / Re: Signature advertisers: suggestions? on: January 21, 2019, 11:44:38 PM
I'm not sure about the idea of banning them outright. It's already possible to hide signatures and block those who look like they're in a signature campaign.

Merit limits could be enforced I guess but I doubt it'll do much. There are lots of users here that are in signature campaigns and a lot of prole go over their maximum weekly limit and just keep posting anyway...

If I were going off donations for helping people in the time I've been here and helped people, I'd have $40 in three years...

Renting signatures to people as a tax and donating the proceeds to charity would be a nice idea. I feel if sigs were removed completely, a lot of users will come for a random trades and then go again there's be no community or reason for the trust and merit system because someone will buy something with money they've earnt in fiat and go again until they next have a nice amount of money to plunge into more goods six months to a year later.

My point in this post is that I've come across users who have lived off signature campaigns in the past and it's helped them in between jobs to stop them being completely cut off. There's the issue that quite a few of these are spammy but a few high merit earners in the past I've known personally to do this sort of thing.
6196  Other / Bitcoin Wiki / The variable length integer looks a bit weird on the bitcoin wiki on: January 21, 2019, 09:00:17 PM
From this page there's a table: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Protocol_documentation#Message_types

valuestorage lengthformat
<0xFD1uint8_t
<=0xFFFF30xFD followed by the length as uint16_t
<=0xFFFFFFFF50xFE followed by length as uint64_t
-90xFF followed by length as uint64_t

There isn't really any description as to what the first character is supposed to represent? And why the second, third and forth are needed is this just in case the voltage gets misread?
6197  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Will precious metal coins return as everyday currency? on: January 21, 2019, 07:53:34 PM
Lite coin is a surprising coin in this regard. Its outperformed a lot of coins just from being a bitcoin that has a block every minute. It's blocksize is tiny in comparison too at 10gb.

Ripple is a bit of a phenomenon, the lack of anonymity makes it favourible to companies as they have a company they can legally blame if they're voted against.
6198  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain promoting BitDeer is it scam or not? on: January 21, 2019, 07:00:58 PM
The coins are stuck because they are below the minimum threshold.

I need 0.001 extra, I'll have a see if any miners will take it on for a small amount. I might message sidehackand ask if he can do it. I was going to use an exchange like mrr (mining rig rentals) but I can't work out how it works.
6199  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain promoting BitDeer is it scam or not? on: January 21, 2019, 04:38:46 PM
Yes this is the hope.

As an update, I've earnt about 0.03 from my contract with them so far.

You can't withdraw less than 0.01 afaik unless they batch the last one or something so maybe that's a new scammy idea of theirs. We'll make sure they keep 0.008 each contract they buy so they have to buy 5 more to get everything out...

7 days passed, how much have you earned? good result?

I bought it just after the announcements.
I came to the end of a 30 day contract.

They create a pool account specifically, in hindsight, go with btc.com as the pool.

I got an average earning of about 0.0015btc/day in revenue. Having paid 0.038 about for a contract, after the 30 days it came to 0.0399 in revenue. I made a 0.008 loss because antpool only allow withdrawals per 0.01 btc. I'm going to try to use my workaround to getting the rest out but I'll see how it goes.

Is it allowed the transaction Selling and buying account freebitco.in ?

Salam TeamWork

No.

Hi. A few days ago my account ID16684243 was blocked for reasons unknown to me and was stolen my money that I deposited your account, namely BTC 0.04057822. How do I get my money back now? Or are you not thinking of returning them? On e-mail any message on blocking, or how I can return the money, didn't come. I hope to hear from you. My ID 16684243

I have a similar situation. Also a few days ago blocked the account ID16684569. I did not commit any illegal actions. Filled up the balance on BTC 0.02, played MULTIPLY and sometimes did freerolls. I would like to know why my account was blocked and where my money went?

Just for my clarification are you both alts? The same person?
