6181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk!! A name behind another scam on: March 18, 2021, 09:07:13 AM
I hope this doesn't sound mean but if a guy actually deposits money to some address he sees on Twitter, then he deserves to lose that money. The only person I'd send money to if asked is my family and even then I'd check with them first that they really asked me for it:)

Elon is not my favorite guy but surely you can't blame him for this scam?
6182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 18, 2021, 07:13:57 AM
Yeah, boring, same teams as all expected except maybe Chelsea who I feel are still weaker than Atletico but somehow found a way to get the goals. I don't think there was really any real upsets in who qualified this time (except for poor Juventus). Now I feel like I should just back Porto all the way, who knows, at least until the final?

6183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Probability of cryptocurrency apocalypse on: March 17, 2021, 03:51:30 PM
No I don't think you're right about assumptions here. I agree infinitely up and down are two equal possibilities, but to me the more likely case is something in between.

Firstly, either probability even if it does happen, won't be in this life. We'll all be dead then.

Secondly, a virus killing all bitcoin? Even if possible, Bitcoin will resurrect. And as you said, even worse risk for banks etc.

Finally on security? 100% confidence, and much less so in any other alternative.
6184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Think before investing, the moon has limits on: March 17, 2021, 03:19:39 PM
Always good to remind yourself this.

I don't expect this bull market to sustain forever, but in the short run with a market with such FOMO like currently there is no guarantees that people are going to act completely rationally.

Which is why I think as a long term holder, the best thing to do is exactly what you've done for the past few years - keep holding. Selling off now is a good strategy if you are a day trader, but if prices keep going up then psychologically you might feel inclined to buy back at a higher price, which is completely counterproductive.

I am buying BTC for the long term usage case as a hedge against fiat collapse, not to take advantage of price swings.

I too wish we could enjoy this run forever, or at least I would like it to last all the way with an ATH near Christmas but yeah, we have to admit that a fair bit of fomo happened with elon musk especially, and that this means some of this could give away at any time.

Rational actions should be the LAST thing we expect from crypto:)

Long term holders like us at least if we miss the top, look forward to the next one, knowing we always see higher lows over longterm years:)
6185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin price is so volatile? What are the major factors that drive it? on: March 17, 2021, 12:23:56 PM
Speculation would cause reaction to many investors depending on what the speculation is, but that's not the primary factor in affecting the price.
Once the investor reacts, it is either selling or buying.
That's why when there are many reactions to a lower price, investors tend to take chance of buying those dumped coins.
Increasing demand while shortening the supply. That's what affects the price.

Most traders lose money and it's down to this fact, that people in there, retail ones anyway, all react when they know they're not supposed to. It even happens to big funds too since they rely mainly on individuals to broker their trades on the floor. Panic, reactions, regret, fear, bad decisions.

Buying the socalled dip isn't a great strategy for shitcoins either. Trust me, I learned this the hard way!
6186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: March 17, 2021, 10:55:04 AM
Obviously anyone who wasn't biased with fair judgement would know how powerful Real Madrid gets when it comes to Champions League matches, yesterday wouldn't be an exception despite their recent decline in form. Hoping to see Chelsea in the next round today, a draw for them will be enough to clinch them onto the next round. Manchester City showed how hungry they are to test the European glory; their dominance isn't just on the domestic league. Hoping to see them in the final against PSG or Bayern.

Even those with bias wouldn't have given Atalanta much of a chance before the round, but seeing how they actually had more chances in the first leg, and seeing how Real managed to somehow score 1 with a depleted squad, I don't think it would have been a bad bias to say Real were in danger.

But yeah, I agree, teams with experience do better, I keep saying that.

Hoping to see Bayern in the final, and any team which is hungry. City look great as usual and PSG too but they somehow lack that kind of hungry look I like to see in teams:)
6187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [UTRIN] - The Orion Protocol Competitor at a 500k marketcap gem on: March 17, 2021, 10:14:58 AM
Just to add.

Orion Protocol is valued at over 400m market cap with no product.
UTRIN is a 500k market cap with a working product and many more additions to come!

Orion has a working product (they are calling it alpha with applications to use) but for me it's worthless to say working product but with how many users? Not to knock UTRIN but from an objective perspective, viewing both look equal to me except the one big flaw UTRIN requires you to download an app.

I'm so not installing an app when there are other defi aggregators to choose from Smiley

Thank you also for the invite, I also got another notification about it last week sorry for lateness. Rules are not very very clear, but I will give it a go anyway and have also registered and will start late by posting some bets today;)

I see a lot of posters already but I will try anyway!
6190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik must be able to listen to our complaints. on: March 17, 2021, 08:13:58 AM
I don't think Vitalik cares about tokens at all... I mean, those are smart contracts that cost less than $10, anyone can create a token and for sure Vitalik sees them as shit coins. And if the fee is too high to get profit from the coin, then it was only a waste of time and a waste of resources for all.

Of course he does, he wants to make sure they are good enough and can be easy enough to do for people to want to continue to use Ethereum. No Ethereum means no money for him and his network.

But yes, I don't think he cares TOO much about wanting more tokens after what ICOs did to ETH's reputation:)
6191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what do you think about the few days deep on: March 17, 2021, 06:59:28 AM
Quite strange to read about people buying EOS of all coins now when the hot ones are all about defi and nft;) Are you sure you really want to "expect another deep" and then buy even more of those types of coins when you should really just stick to Bitcoin and Ethereum?

Unless you don't mind being disappointed. Then please, go ahead:)
6192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: March 17, 2021, 06:28:42 AM
Barcelona have only one advantage that they can concentrate all resources for La Liga but two Madrids will have to decentralize their resources for La Liga and Champions League. Big or small advantage, I don't know now but it can be bigger if two Madrids can move more in Champions League. Anyway, two clashes will be key for Barcelona. Lost them, lose the La Liga.

The impressive return of Barcelona is supported by Messi and it raises another problem, will Messi keep up his performance till La Liga ending? After bad start, now Messi stays at first position in scorer table, above Suarez.

Indeed, the sudden fall of Atletico makes the La Liga becomes more interesting at the end. It is good for neutral football audiences. I am not a fan of any in three clubs: 2 Madrids and Barcelona.

I always feel like the focus of resources is a small advantage for teams with big squads like Madrid and Barca anyway. You also want to get good rhythm and playing often is the way to do this. You ask any team and they will say they play better with more games, not less. Of course, not to tire everyone out which is why a big squad is useful for this!
6193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How long do you think this altcoin bubble will last? on: March 16, 2021, 04:06:52 PM
I think the altcoin bubble will be super hot once coins like Monero and Litecoin reach their old ATHs. This hasn't happened yet and may not even happen but I still think these coins deserve reaching and breaking new ATHs. After that, then you should consider that the steam will be about to run out, but not before then.

Mioptc is correct in this case. No interest for the moment on FUN tokens.
Never heard of any legit exchange that gives such an APY for BTC, I doubt they will be long in existence with this kind of unrealistic returns. An interest of around 4-5% is much more sustainable in the long term.

Binance is one such exchange offering good APY and of course if you count DEXs as exchanges then you already have Uni/Sushi and yearn and now even new ones like 1inch and plasmaswap all offering double digit APYs, but that's a bit more complicated than FBC.

Nexo I think gives 5% flat, more with other tokens. Which is the equivalent of a centralized exchange?
6195  Economy / Speculation / Re: We are going to lose 20% today on: March 16, 2021, 01:31:29 PM
Seems a fair call on the mood but not the magnitude especially or the momentum downwards.   I dont think its moving that fast or is especially forced rapid selling, we may form a trend downwards but only then will I be especially negative because its taken a fairly long and winding road upto the top which is not how 2017 was especially.   Seems alot more considered in its rise this time so a pullback I dont mind and just hope I get when its exhausted the selling because it still seems possible it can rise rather everyone has already given up or the rise was too fast to form any strength at all.
The lows today have been a fair point for it to rest and possibly find support, dont know just yet.   However if it continued and needed to check prices lower then I think the monthly average would match prior action sideways which often means enough volume to arrest a fall and give that support scenario.  Thats about 50k or so 51k area, thats just a rough guess with previous bars topping out there it can be a support area in my experience.

Yeah the forced rapid selling is very critical to point out because this is less of a panic from the masses, but a serious attempt by the bears or those maybe holding futures contracts.

This is a much slower and more patient rise to the top, definitely not the crazy 2017 swing. So it's good news for the bulls I feel, that there is a lot more space to go up into.
6196  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you replay trading Bitcoin market? on: March 16, 2021, 01:00:57 PM
Actually it helps but for some it may not. As you can see the market trend is different daily, weekly and so on, but we cant deny that there are patterns over the course of those time that it got repeated many times over. Like the cycle of pump and dump in a given particular order. I dont know but that's how we can practice more if we wanna learn the basics of trading. Experience is the best teacher after all.

Patterns are only there because we see it. You'd be very surprised I think to give 10 people the same data and same timeframe and then see all the different patterns they can each come up with.

Just because it repeats 10 times doesn't mean it will do so another time, or another 10 more times, or won't repeat again after failing to do so a few times.

Trading is a skill, but also people who do it mostly don't implement those skills:)
6197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: March 16, 2021, 11:40:51 AM
Great to see Leo Messi having fun again. Huesca couldn't do anything yesterday to even try to avoid this defeat when facing this kind of Barcelona! Good to see also that now Atlético Madrid has got a real contestant until the end of the Liga. Without playing in Champions League, Barcelona doesn't have much else to do too  Grin

I knw right? I was saying in another La Liga thread that results aside, and it was a great one no doubt, I actually saw Leo having fun again and smiling like, wow, right? 4 points, and these two leaders are going to meet again in May. Will it still be four points in 2 months? One can never really tell.

Very exciting to consider how it will all turn out!
6198  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Established cash cow biz make 250k per year part time.. on: March 16, 2021, 11:02:44 AM
Why would a business that would make this much sell for only 3x their annual income? And this in covid times too, I would feel it's easier to just hold on to it, and get more covid checks from the UK government, and wait for business to resume as normal.

Interesting to see though that anyone with just 12 BTC can already have this:)
6199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: March 16, 2021, 09:53:18 AM
Huge huge win for us last night and you could actually tell that people like Messi looked like he was enjoying himself again:) 4 points now and yes we were the huge favorites but just the way we can now score again and actually look happy? 2 goals for our man, catching up and going past his best friend Suarez?

Atalanta to KO Real Madrid tonight you think guys?
6200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: March 16, 2021, 09:20:24 AM
^ Who can seriously say XRP is a long-term hodl right now? Everyone that is getting into it from what I can see is hoping for a quick buck. 5% or 10% scalps and rinse and repeat because this XRP dump and pump and dump cycle is far from over. $1 may still be on the cards but that's not going to happen with all this scalping.
