It's amusing how many people are losing their BTC by spilling water, losing gadgets, ruining hardware, forgetting passwords etc. It's all judging by these forum threads. I suspect most of them are made up to pump up post count and maybe even earn some merits. It just looks really suspicious the guy spilled water on his hdd (or pc not really clear from the OPs post) on THE VERY SAME DAY he decided to check on his stash? I mean cmon...  It's hard to verify whether the OP's story is real or just made-up. But it is true that many people store original phrases and information right on their computers. Believe it or not, my cousin is not very computer savvy, and he's only been in the market for a few months. Although his assets are not too large, but important data such as passwords and seed phrases...he stores them right on his D drive. I gave advice on that, but he didn't believe there would be any problem. But he is stubborn, and I don't want to waste my time with such people even though he is my relative.
