622  Economy / Economics / Re: How bitcoin can be useful in developing nations like the African continent. on: December 28, 2017, 08:03:02 AM
Hey folks!

I'm new to the forum here. I've been watching with excitement lots of documentaries about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. As probably most of you here, I am completely fascinated by the wonders of Bitcoin and its potential use in paving a new path towards decentralization of the financial system. I live in Ethiopia (East Africa), second highest population in the continent with a large amount of people still considered unbanked (low to no access to financial institutions). Hence, I am seriously considering starting a bitcoin service in the country to try and alleviate some of these issues. I am therefore open to any engagement of productive discussions about Bitcoin and its benefits in developing nations. How can we implement Bitcoin systems here? Where do we begin? Who can we partner with? How to include the financially unincluded? How can local businesses thrive with Bitcoin? How can donations happen using Bitcoin? And all questions related to developing nations and Africa. Thank you all in advance for the active participation!
I think you can negotiate with bitcoin or developers of any altcoin inrelation to the needs of your continent, Africa. I think bitcoin will change the life of the people in Africa and the unbanked people may find some hope in bitcoin. You are right, bitcoin has the potential to change the world economically. There a lots of benefits of bitcoin and it is applicable for those developing countries. Likewise, it is important to start right now and be hopeful that someday the Africa and even the developing countries will become successful with bitcoin.
I guess you can talk it about the developers and I saw a project dealing with the internet speed in Africa. I hope that project will pursue and if it will be implemented in Africa. That is the time that the Africa will start to bring change.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☘☘☘ Futures Will Increase The Volatility Of Bitcoin ☘☘☘ on: December 28, 2017, 03:46:51 AM
Futures won't necessarily impact the direction of bitcoin (in regards to the price going up or down). But it will greatly impact the volatility. Bitcoin is already one of the most volatile assets in the world. Which allows for massive profits AND massive losses to be made at the same time. The swings are going to get more intense because it will become easier to bet both sides without actually holding any coins. The peaks and the dips are about to get more intense.

With fees increasing so much it will be very hard to sell and buy bitcoin on whim. So people will lean toward holding. The problem is that futures will start to have a greater impact since the fees will be smaller and people will be able to bet on the direction of bitcoin without actually buying or selling it.

Good luck to any day traders trying to chase the ups and downs! Good luck to the HODLers! Good luck to you all ☘

Just realize with volatility comes risk. There is a tradeoff of substantial risk (depending on your actual investment) for a potential of incredible returns

We don't know how the future works to bitcoin unless if it stable right now. So we need to take a risk on what will happens to bitcoin, for those who wants to earn then make a trust and risk to bitcoin. As what you've wrote, bitcoin is the the most volatile asset and we can't configure its price. The best thing we will do is to keep up on supporting and holding bitcoin but do not always rely on what we've in bitcoin's price because someday maybe it will pop up like a bubble. Be wise but don't be afraid to lose.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How foolish are people who invest in Bitcoin? on: December 28, 2017, 01:09:02 AM
How many idiots who decided to invest in bitcoin!!!!!!!

It is necessary not to watch as he grows from 15000 to 17000. This is a visual illusion.
And as it grows from 1.5 to 1.7.....

In recent days printed 180 million tether and still no big growth....
Lending on the stock exchange came to a billion dollars.
The credit rate on the day was a record and more than the 0.103%.

This means that the market has reached its peak. The price of cryptocurrency maximum.
This is the moment when you have to sell everything.

So began a process of growth needs the infusion of more money.... They're gone.

I think the joy of endless growth to an end this weekend.

Nothing in this world is eternal and permanent.....
And rising prices of bitcoin are not eternal.... all ends already.....
Why you are mad with bitcoin? Is bitcoin made something with you?

Yes, there is no permanent in this world except change that is why bitcoin is here. A lot of rumors and even other industrialize persons underestimated bitcoin. Some said it will just exist 10-20 years, bitcoin did not reach the exact meaning of currency, bitcoin is a bubble, and bitcoin is a scam. If that is a non-sense thing, why you are wasting your time in a non-sense thing?

For me, foolish person are those person who can't ride in the trends and we have our own decision and opinion so don't say that people who invested in bitcoin was fooled. If you didn't believe in bitcoin then just quit.

626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most peoples who bash on bitcoin are just mad on: December 27, 2017, 10:27:26 PM
Mad because :
1. They can't afford bitcoin.
2. Too late to the trend, they are jelous of peoples who get into the trend long before them so that those peoples earn more than them.
3. They want to make peoples leave bitcoin and chose other digital currency which they have bought with the intention to raise its value, greed are disgusting when are too much that you do anything to get what you want.
4. Etc you can think of.

So don't mind those peoples, only sell your bitcoin or buy it when you see profit.
Here's my opinion:
1. The price of bitcoin is too high and the only one solution for them is too make news about bitcoin so that the people will scare of it. After that, they will buy in a low price.
2. Sometimes people don't appreciate the beauty of something, if they are late to discover it.
3. It is marketing strategy to buy bitcoin in a low price. Bandwagon effect, just to pull out the people from bitcoin then they will enter it if the price goes down.
For those who are mad of bitcoin, they are envied for those people who actually made the foundation to bitcoin, the one who started and the one who appreciate the bitcoin. Insecurities will eat the dignity of every human.
627  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Tingin mo pang-ilan si Satoshi Nakamoto sa listahan ng mayayaman? on: December 27, 2017, 01:54:44 PM
Answer, Satoshi Nakamoto’s unclaimed billions place him 37th in the world’s richest.

People Keep Sending Satoshi Nakamoto Bitcoin | Crypto News
http://buxlister.com/blog/2017/12/25/people-keep-sending-satoshi-nakamoto-bitcoin-crypto-news/
Is it about the power, popularity or money? Di natin alam baka one of us here in bitcointalk ay si Nakamoto pala. Masasabi ko na hindi basta-basta ang nalikha nya at natuklasan. Masasabi ko rin na tatatak ito sa kasaysayan kaya maituturing natin siya o silang matatalino sa 21st century.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prove Bitcoin is not a bubble on: December 27, 2017, 01:14:32 PM
Bitcoin fans keep saying "prove it is a bubble" because they do not believe it is - but this is a false question.

The real question all you bitcoin fans should be able to answer is: Prove that bitcoin is not a bubble.

A bubble is when the price of something is far higher than the fundamental value.

Bitcoin gives you ownership of nothing (a stock gives you ownership of tangible assets)
Bitcoin pays no dividend
Bitcoin gives you no right to future payments (bonds give you the right to payments)
Bitcoin gives you no patents or trademarks
Bitcoin gives you no legal rights

Given these facts, you Bitcoin fans need to prove that the fundamental value is different from zero (or close to zero) - otherwise it is a by definition a bubble

Bitcoin proves it long time ago. It is up to you if you believe or not but for me bitcoin is not a bubble, it was made as digital currency. Time also testified that bitcoin will not pop easily. Believe into the rumors and we don't care. I am not a bitcoin fan but I am not its haters too. Be neutral in this world is more lucky than being one directed.
629  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do we need a global currency? on: December 27, 2017, 12:32:27 PM
Absolutely not! You centralise money, you centralise power, you end up in a totalitarian world. No thank you, not my cup of tea.

You are completely right . If all the countries have a global currency, evil powers can rule the world easily to realize their horrible goals. For that reason, Humanity do not need to have a global currency for sure.
I think that is the reason why we don't need to eliminate fiat currency in our economy. Let us say that bitcoin can be a global currency but it will lead always to a centralize power wherein few persons can control the whole world. Yes, we don't need to have a global currency.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen when it is discovered that the majority of ICOs are scams? on: December 27, 2017, 09:46:42 AM
I think it will lead to a great devastation of cryptocurrency. In fact, many people will loose their trust about cryptocurrency, many people will loose money and it will goes to a financial crisis. I believe that ICO scams are cancerous to the popularity of bitcoin as well as the other cryptocurrency. Maybe the bubble thing will happens if the ICO scam are continuously moving in cryptocurrency. They must be removed and I hope that there will be a law or penalties for the developers of the said scam coin. I want to destroy them like what they are doing to the small investors and person who participated in their campaign.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2018 is the new era for bitcoin? on: December 22, 2017, 10:03:57 PM
Hello,

i see the chart is going up now, maybe for a short term and go back down, but do you think the new fresh money which can be reinvested from the beggining of Jan ( especially the chinese funds, as the banks release the holden stocks of private investors and companys  ) will keep the price maybe back to 20k or even higher?

can you maybe tell me some reasons why it is going up for the future?

btw iam a long term holder ( 3+ years ) and iam not panic selling at all, i just wait for the right moment.
That is the best thing to do now is don't be panicked. It is the usual process of price, higher if the demand is increasing and lower if the demand is decreasing. As of now, we not need to worry about the price of bitcoin because I think that there are many whales who sell bitcoin now in preparation for Christmas and New Year. I think at February the price will move up because many investors again will put their money to bitcoin. Bitcoin is a trusted currency and it will always be the same until cryptocurrency died.
632  Economy / Economics / Re: Becoming wealthy and social responsibility on: December 22, 2017, 02:19:49 PM
Sad to say but I think most of the new comers are into bitcoin because of money. I am not pertaining to businesses because it's actually good for the economy. But those who are making different projects that only aims to profit are the negative ones.
We can also see here in the forum how many projects are made that creates their own coins just to profit making the cryptoworld not just confusing but also saturated.
Different coins are also causing slow transactions you know. If bitcoins are the only coins present I doubt that there is much of a problem.
What is our purposes here in the forum? That is the first question that comes to my mind when I get started in bitcointalk. Because we want to earn, we want to become wealthy and move out our family from poverty. My mind blowns when I have read the true purpose of this forum. I knew that my purpose is a self-centered but I want to come up in helping other persons when I gain money.
We have all purpose, we have diversity of intention and I believe that our individual purpose will lead to the development of the whole.

It's hard to say that Earning purposes could actually lead to development because when it comes to Monetary reasons may lead to doing bad things just to have an income.
Yes we do have individuality. It won't hurt if everybody shares different views, perceptions and own shoes to explain their purposes here but we need development. Not just someone who wants to earn and help others to earn.
The purpose of this forum is for technological evolution.
With respect to those who needed money badly. But abusing bitcoin can actually kill it. Look at it right now.
Yeah your right! I think we have different goals but we must lead on one objective. And that is keeping up the true essence of this forum. Maybe we are here because we want to earn but we should bear in our mind that we must contribute for the wellness of others. Bitcoin helped already to develop technological uses, we must now do our own part as citizen of the world.

634  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippine News about cryptocurrency on: December 21, 2017, 01:22:01 PM
About two days ago, naging balita po na ang  ating Central Bank ay nakatanggap ng 12 applicatin ng mga exchanges, ganun na kaganda or kadami ang demands dito sa bansa natin, according din po sa data nila ay around $6Million na po ang nagiging transaction natin monthly. A good news para sa lahat, sa tingin niyo po ba magiging daan na to para maencourage na ang ating gobyerno na ilagay din to sa stock markets?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/philippine-central-bank-reviewing-12-bitcoin-exchange-applicants/
635  Economy / Economics / Re: How to actively participate in the crypto economies on: December 21, 2017, 07:10:54 AM
How do we actually start participating in the crypto world? I already see a good prototype working model but we don't use it almost anywhere.
How many times you actually purchased something with cryptocurrency? Once, twice, never or few times a month?

We need to keep the economy going.
We obviously can't use it while shopping IRL but there must be some use cases.

You can get paid in crypto tho, but it's hard to find such opportunities, at most freelance. Anyone know more sites like ethlance.com?

There are many sites there where you can earn digital cryptocurrency. One of those is this forum, by just posting a constructive post you can earn or you may also showcase your skills and offer it to a company that needs that. In my experience, joining in this forum changed my life not just financially but also on how I look in life.
In all sites with digital currency, BTT is the most beautiful site that I saw. We can earn money in just posting and we can also learn more about things we don't expected to learn. Like me, I am so stupid when I began here BTT but I tried to study things and now, I can understand what others talking. If you want to know how to participate, I can say that you need to learn things more to earn and participate well in the crypto economy.
636  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you knew Bitcoin would never change in value, would you buy it? on: December 20, 2017, 09:31:58 PM
If it were guaranteed that the price of bitcoin would stay the same as it is today, would you still buy it?  My guess is, the answer is no. But if its value lies in being a currency, price stability is essential. And if your answer is no, how is it then not just a Ponzi scheme? In other words, everyone is buying it on the hope of someone paying more for it in the future, not to use it as a currency.
I think it is not good if the price of bitcoin will not change. In order to attract investors, the volatility of bitcoin's price is useful. It is good to know that everything always change and accept the fact that there are sometimes bitcoin will floor or goes high. I think it is good enough to see bitcoin moves specially if you just get started to invest. You will wait the time until the price down. Trading is not recommended if bitcoin never change. No changing, no gaining of bitcoin.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ☃☃☃ The Bitcoin Dream ☃☃☃ on: December 16, 2017, 01:32:50 AM
Everyone is hoping that bitcoin will continue to rise in price indefinitely.

They look at the growth from $0.003 to $18000 and think that bitcoin is unstoppable

Is everyone buying into a dream that is too good to be true? How can bitcoin go up over 6 million times its original value without approaching a bubble? A $100 investment in 2010 would be worth $600,000 dollars! Where the heck does that "value" even come from. Bitcoin produces no revenues and provides no tangible assets. How can a $100 investment be worth $600,000 after 7 years? You can't just make $600k from scratch without there being losers involved. So who are the losers going to be when this wild ride is all done?

I think once the bubble bursts, people will get stuck with their worthless digital currency and the dream will finally come to an end.

People are investing with their heart, not their brains.

This feels exactly like the dot-com bubble. Yes crypto and specifically the block chain are incredible innovations, and that is what is fueling such massive excitement. When the smoke clears, reality is going to smack a lot of people in the face. Investors need to start thinking about exit strategies. A ton of money is going to be made on crypto - IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. Go ahead and keep riding the wave up, but start getting prepared to also ride the wave down. Billions will be made in 2018 or later off of SHORTING crypto. The current prices, especially bitcoin and the major alts, are just unrealistic.

#CryptoCrash2018

I think anytime bitcoin will crash and someday, digital currency will be useless. I am afraid that bitcoin value will loose because all of my efforts and time will blow just in a second. Somehow, we must be optimist! Eventhough we not see and touch this digital currency, try to trust bitcoin. It is worth if someday, bitcoin will establish its legality around the world and that bubble thing will remove in the name of cryptocurrency. In future, bitcoin will be more realistic from what we've thought.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is an Asset or Currency? on: December 15, 2017, 09:51:23 AM
I believe that the initial purpose of crypto is to create a digital currency for making transactions quick and easy. However, in reality it has become an asset which everybody is buying and holding. Continuing doing like this will destroy the initial purpose of the coin?

What is your opinion?
If you make it logical, crypto is used in transaction but how it will be transacted if there is no one holding? Crypto is useless if there is no person holding it. Don't stake on definition of it focus on how crypto works. Until the usage of the crypto is to transact easily and fast, it has a purpose.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto - Craig Wright on: December 15, 2017, 06:53:35 AM
Sorry Dr. Craig Wright, I know you don't really want publicity.

So this is an interview from 2016 about a certain Craig Wright coming out as Satoshi Nakamoto, whether you believe him or not it is interesting to hear him speak about(1h lecture) about economy, money, banks and bitcoin.

Assuming for a moment he really is the inventor of Bitcoin it is quite interesting and understandable to see that people have completely misunderstood Bitcoin and it's purpose.

It seems like everyone in the comment section of that video are in agreement that this man is full of it.. It would be magical to actually know who Satoshi is, or who they are, but in a sense it may ruin the mysticism around the name. The way this guy acts in the interview is so inconsistent and strange, he seems squirmy to me.. At any rate I don't believe him in the slightest, and I doubt Satoshi would do a "Big reveal" on some small time BBC segment.

It's fun to play pretend or make believe, but no matter how hard I try I can't even fool myself into thinking he's the man behind the mask. It might be interesting if he has an old address, but claiming to be Satoshi takes away any glory/prestige that may have come with it.

We're never going to know who Satoshi is, and I'm more than happy for it to remain that way. It won't do us any good to know who s/t/he/y are. All we can do is be thankful for what they're developed and dropped in front of us like a benevolent time-traveler. If the BBC or Fox news announces they found Satoshi, just keep it moving, don't even pay them any mind..
Is it a big deal if we all know who is the person behind satoshi nakamoto? I saw also other articles, telling that satoshi is a bunch of people who planned and implemented bitcoin. We will never identify satoshi anytime. For me, as long as I am earning in bitcoin. I will not waste my time just to know who he is exactly. I appreciate very well what he changed in our economy and we owe a great debt to his discovery.
640  Economy / Economics / Re: What coin do you believe will be next to bitcoin? on: December 15, 2017, 12:09:51 AM
As part of the economy I want to ask

•What do you think is the next big thing? by means bitcoin is getting higher and people should now invest in like what they did before.

•What coin like bitcoin you should invest in? is it  bitcoingold? or the next coin that the developers will create
Ethereum is the next to bitcoin. I believe that it can replace bitcoin since they are rivalry. But for the mean time, bitcoin is the number one cryptocurrency and I think it cannot be replaced easily because as we can see the development of bitcoin time to time. Investors trusted more bitcoin than altcoins because it has foundations already and no one can destroy bitcoin. I believe that if bitcoin will crash, other altcoins will crash also. Bitcoin is the cryptocurrency's guiding star.
