UltraCoin Mining Update
As UltraCoin matures, the UTC team is working hard to ensure the short-term and long-term viability and profit of the coin. We have heard from the mining community, pool operators and investors, and are working closely with them to address various issues and prepare UTC for future growth. As such, we would like to communicate our plans with you and will continue to do so regularly.
The UltraCoin Plan
1. Bring new coin developers on board. We have found very capable coin devs, with experience developing and modifying many other coins. They are already hard at work.
2. Modifications to wallet, to address software version updates and prepare for future changes. This phase is complete.
3. Modifications to Nitro1 pool. As you probably know, Nitro1 currently has a large proportion of the total hashrate for UTC. Stuhlman, the operator of the Nitro pool, has instituted a 2 hour daily shutdown of Nitro1 to address this, until future changes to UTC fix the issues causing this problem.
4. Recruiting new pools. We are actively working to bring more large pools into the UTC family. We will keep you updated as we work on this.
5. Additional modifications to wallet, to apply heartbleed fix, coincontrol and reward cutting. We expect this change to be in place within the next two weeks.
The change to add coincontrol will allow the user to "segment" his stash of coins, keeping the oldest coins available for proof of stake, and spending the newest. We have seen a preview of this function and are quite excited about what it offers.
The decision to cut rewards was made after input from the entire UTC community. In the short-term, this may have an effect on daily mining profits, but we believe that in the long-term it will lead to higher prices, negating any negative impact.
Cutting rewards also extends the lifecycle of UltraCoin, reducing supply and ensuring that all coins are not mined in just a few years.
5. Possible change to Proof of Stake schedule. We are also listening to the community to decide how the POS schedule should change. Most people agree that 1 year is too long. We will keep you updated as we think this through.
I personally want to thank all of the miners, pool operators and investors for sticking with UltraCoin. While we have many exciting changes and features in development, we recognize that we are at a critical juncture with the coin. I, and the entire UTC team, am 100% committed to the success of UTC and sincerely hope you will stay with me as we work to make this coin successful.

downloaded wallet, but it crashes when i open it.
Have a feeling windows 64bit is the reason..
Anyone a solution?
i am using win 64bit without problems, the wallet can be a bit slow in loading now, but that will be adressed in the next updates.phase 2 and phase 3 wallet updates coming soon... |

everything is gonna be fine  @ dwolfx you are talking about alot of things that are already planned in the wallet updates, and have been outlined pages back.and to be honest i think alot of your suggestions are acts of dispair. Team UTC does not look at the price to determine the value of the coin, we know what we are developing and we know how big it will be. |

Greetings miners
We are giving the wallet a major overhaul in 3 phases, Phase 1 has just been completed.
We are writing you to inform you that we are going to decrease the blockreward from 50 to 15,the reason for this is that the price or Ultracoin simply can not rise with this model.
In the current model there are 144000 UTC minted per day as opposed to a 25000 in Litecoin for example. In the current model where the block reward is 50, there wil be 52560000 UTC minted in year 1 alone, which is over 50%.
If we continue on this path all UTC will be mined within just a few years, we can not allow this to happen.
We hope you (the miners) will understand that this is in the best interest of the coin, and we hope you will remove your sell orders so that the price can rise to a healthy equilibrium.
The price is way to low at the moment (also becasue the daily supply is flushing yout the demand).
The current model is not healthy and unsustainable.so please think about the future of ultracoin and stop selling UTC so cheap.As long as there are low ball sell orders , people will buy low, and the price will not rise.Nobody will pay 2 dollar for hamburger if they can buy it for 5 cent.
We hope you wont quit mining Ultracoin since the miners are the backbone of the operation.

This is no time to dispair guys.....all coins are down, and will keep going down until this china stuff is behind us.We are also dealing with the aftermath of the heartbleed situation.....
But you need to know that Team UTC does not quit, does not give up.We know all the things we are developing and we have shown a road map of it (which can be found on page 580.
Team UTC does not doubt the future of the coin, and at this price the coins are a steal.
We have found new devs who are working very hard on the list that we have provided,and Dcgirl is building an incredible arbitrage program...Later this year we are expanding into the minecraft community which has 30 miljon players and 500k servers.and we will take some of this as our userbase for the coin ( in game economy with UTC)
It is hard to keep positive when everything keeps going down,but selling your UTC at this price doesnt do anybody any good,its a battle of undercutting eachother while the true value of UTC should be between 2 and 3 dollar at this point.....
This is borderlining the rediculus.I wont name names, but there are few coins out there with such an active and dedicated team,who are communicating daily ,and developing daily.
So, take a breath and remove those lowball sellorders, let it rise, let it grow...

You missed it Phase 1 of the wallet update is complete!
This update is not mandatory but highly recommended.....
The following points have been adressed in this update:
phase 1: Checkpoints, stake modifiers and splash build error.
Increased version to 1.0.1.0 and updated minimum protocol version
I have tested this new build and it communicates with the old chain, you can send UTC from and to an un-updated wallet.
Once you delete everything except the wallet.dat file from the ultracoin folder, start the new client,the new client then updates the chain and the wallet
Step 1 : Type %appdata% in the windows search box (you see it when you click the start button)
Step 2 : Find the ultracoin folder
Step 3 : Copy the wallet.dat into a backup folder, do NOT delete or cut it!
Step 4 : Delete everything in the appdata/ultracoin, but DO NOT DELETE THE WALLET.DAT
Step 5 : Download this file http://www.speedyshare.com/SdmKg/ultracoin-1.0.1.0-windows-qt.rar
Step 6 : Extract the folder from the download somewhere,now drag the Ultracoin-qt.exe from the new download into your normal wallet folder (not into the
appdata/ultracoin folder but your wallet folder)
Step 7 : Click yes when it asks do you want to replace the file.
Step 8 : Start the wallet,it will now download the entire blockchain again (this will take some time).
