@bumface @Stuhlman, it is going to take time for miners to start distributing the hash power. Most of us have our mining software setup to failover to other pools so when Nitro goes down we mine on a backup pool, then right back to Nitro when it comes back up without having to lift a finger.
If you want people to switch pools permanently you are going to have to do something drastic. Why doesn't Nitro up it's fees to like 12% or something insane and donate the extra 9% to the UTC development team? It has to be something where people find it unappealing to mine on Nitro for them to switch. Rolling "brown outs" doesn't really effect anyone, like I said, because their failover take over and they do not even notice it happened.
Also you are in a catch-22 situation here with UTC value so low miners do not want to lose any unnecessary hashing power (coins) so as long as Nitro is orphaning other pools people will continue to flock to it. I think my solution works well because it benefits the community as a whole (forced donations to the development community via Nitro's insane fees) and forces people to switch off of Nitro. Once the hashing power is distributed Nitro can restore it's normal fees.
@bumface please PM me when you read this, I have access to the domain utcchain.info and would like to code a new block explorer. I have 20 years programming experience and consider myself an elite coder.
If anyone wants to provide me with additional motivation to get utcchain.info off the ground, please donate: UkbuPc3fbCGWxGDyQYaVMZ65Zi6AAS8hgv
Great idea and for added motivation sent 500UTC

UltraCoin Mining Update

The main reason is the UTC IS TOO cheap that we cant pay the electricity bill then they should stop making low sell orders,so it will go up

My suggestion, can the n-factor low down to N=11, and keep it for a long time? Before 4.6 , I and many of my friends are mining UTC, but after N into 12: (1) some of them who just have 4G ram cant get the best benefit. They out to other coin. (2) 8G ram with 290 just get 2/3 coins when N=11. so they out. (3) Other people who have R9 270 cant pay the electricity bill, they out. Many people out when the n to 12, because they dont know and cant get benefit like before with old machine. So the n-factor low down to N=11 can bring more miners. And N time is not need change shortly, just like VTC and EXE, they keep one N for a year. Asci cant catch. I think the first things to a successful coin is it can lure more and more miners, then more and more dev will come, then more and more peoples will use this, then asci will come (because the coin is worth it). Hope utc will go to the moon, and the price is bottom now. I have to agree with you. Changing the n-factor is too fast. N-factor, low down to N = 11, and keep it for a long time for gpu miners its great idea. The largest and most important for us should be gpu miners. I do not think it would be, a bad choice to delay the change of n-factor to 12 or even leave for a long time. If they were asic, what a problem to change the n-factor to further protect miners gpu? UTC should be gpu mining rigs friendly as possible, because it is the most. When the coins will 100% PoS, then UTC should be friendly to the CPU miners. That's enough to earn transaction fees and maintaining network security. A good example is the Black Coin. Come on. hard to mine, no miner. less price, no miner. no miner, no player. no player, no vol. no vol, no life. Please down the n below 12 ASAP!! the price is 0.00005000 now!!

I'm going to pick on you because you're the Xth person to complain about N=12. Seriously - N=12 is NOT difficult to configure for. Hell, the tool to tell you EXACTLY how to configure your miner was posted in this thread last week, and unless you are truly helpless, or just believe the world should HAND you rewards simply because you WANT them, then when the real world comes calling you are going to be seriously ill-prepared. Some people in this community give a whole lot of assistance, and if you have no desire to increase your knowledge or even spend a little time trying things and reading information to figure it out, then go mine dogecoin. Such easy!

Thanks bumface, i'm holding long time with this coin. The key to a coin is development, so i'm really hoping that none of the dev team will give up. Price will fluctuate like crazy in this early days of crypto currency, only those who stay resilient will survive.
When we believe this is the silver silver development team to trust The hope that developers will not disappoint us Thanks to bumface

If many person complain about N=12, so this is a problem. Cant you see a lot miner has gone after n=12? You ask someone to mine dogecoin because he just give a suggestion. After a few days, there will only you left to mine this coin, is this you want? Do you want UTC be the next BoschiCoin (have you hear this, dead now) or BlackCoin (price is going to the moon)?

The problem is not in the settings rigs. I conclude that a new n = 12 is even easier to set up rigs. Big thanks of course Jakiman and Thirtybird. The problem is too rapid change in n-factor. Why? because it forces many to purchase additional memory modules to mine still effectively. Do not say that this is a bad thing, after all, is supposed to protect us in the future from asic. Exactly in the future .. Now the threat of asic i can not see. When there will be dedicated asic, should be changed n-factor. The change is too fast and not needed for the day. Thats all.

I actually have no insight into whether there are more or less miners on UTC now or two weeks ago - It's not like the N factor change schedule is a secret, everyone knew it was coming, and knows when the next one is scheduled to be. I do know that other coins at higher N factors actually have more miners now than they did at NF = 11. I have no influence in the direction of this coin - bumface will either change things, or he won't, based on his beliefs. My beliefs are that high N-Factors are all-around better, and help avoid the power and ASIC escalation seen in the SHA256 and Scrypt-coin world. Everyone has to play by the same rules for a given coin, so if you're saying you've got to compromise on your configuration, guess what? Other people do too.. The problem is too rapid change in n-factor. The change is too fast and not needed for the day.
It starts to slow up, and mining at NF = 14 is still fairly easy - that takes you all the way out to January of next year. NF=15 could be okay too, but no coin has done it yet, so I've never had to. I'm fairly confident my miners will be just fine when that first coin (YACoin) switches to NF=15 though. Why? because it forces many to purchase additional memory modules to mine still effectively.
You can mine with 4 2GB cards or 2 4GB cards with 4 GB just fine. Until you want to go with more of either, 4GB of system ram is sufficient. The N factor is not explicitly the cause of needing more system RAM, it's allocating GPU memory. If you want to be the guy who runs 4 R9 290X's, I think you can find the 50 quid to spring for an 8 GB configuration instead of a 4GB configuration.

Everyone has to play by the same rules for a given coin, so if you're saying you've got to compromise on your configuration, guess what? Other people do too.. there are about 50% less miners on NITRO since 1-2 weeks ago.. There is no "easy guide" on the main page to help new miners getting started. so no wonder there are no new miners and many are leaving cause of the retarded n factor that changes every 2 weeks.. Hell, I even decided to try YACminer to see if I get better hash with it, but it doesnt work.. took the settings from here - http://www.ultracoin.net/configgen_raw.htmlusing win8.1 64bit 16GB 280X with this command: yacminer --scrypt-chacha --worksize 128 -g 1 --lookup-gap 3 --buffer-size 2590 -R 7680 -o stratum+tcp://ultra.nitro.org:3337 -u xxxxxxxx -p xxxxxxx --nfmin 4 --nfmax 30 --starttime 1388361600
