621  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why has Bitcoin been so stable in the last few weeks? on: March 19, 2014, 07:01:28 PM
Isn't there something we can do about this?  We've got to find a way to destabilize the thing.  How are all the speculators going to make money if it just sits there?  This is a real disaster for bitcoin.  They should tweak with the protocol a little bit to cause better price swings.  Let's face it, nearly everyone here could give a rat's about building a great system, they just want 'zoom to da moon'.  Bitcoin is for speculators and quick money.  Stability is the enemy.
622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX whistleblower...the plot thickens. on: March 08, 2014, 01:20:25 AM
nless he's willing to publish and be damned regardless of whether or not Vessenes and Matonis step down, then he's not a crusader for truth at all - he's just another egomaniac seeking validation.

Completely agree, the blog post is massively attention seeking.  He could have simply mailed the two guys in question with the facts he has and told them he would reveal unless they stepped down.

Nope, that would just make him a blackmailer.  He has no integrity as a "whistle-blower" if there's any scenario under which he won't publish the information of wrong-doing he claims to have.  By not publishing, he's with-holding the very information he's accusing them of being wrong for with-holding.
I don't care whether he is good guy or bad guy - if his information is correct and the board is stacked with this type of cheating, this is real bad for bitcoin. REAL BAD.

Poor old man.
Journalists today are disgraceful fucking idiots.  I hate this behavior.

They are vulgar fucking filthy cockroaches.

The forbes article is down but the referenced Newsweek story is up:
http://mag.newsweek.com/2014/03/14/bitcoin-satoshi-nakamoto.html

I really hope it isn't him because if it is then his life is going to become a living hell.
This whole thing is a hoax engineered by the real satoshi.  The article is fake.  That is why Forbes removed it.  The real satoshi paid this family to act like the bitcoin creator to deflect further attention to the real one.  The story is too 'devised'.

625  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp on: March 06, 2014, 12:29:17 AM
Each and every great invention had tough setbacks at the beginning.

Yeah, you think we have it bad in bitcoin - you should have seen those chumps trying to get the first helicopters to fly!!!  That was a pig fuck royal.  Loads of dead guys.  Mt.Gox is for sissies.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shit Bitcoin Fanatics Say on: March 06, 2014, 12:26:06 AM
It cost him about $4,000 to create the videos
What a waste.  He should have bought his girl diamond earrings instead.
Lol! Now you're talking! Remind me to date you if I become single. Wink
Sorry toots - I am very happily married to the most insanely pretty woman on the planet.  How do you think I managed that?  One guess: diamonds.

628  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitstamp on: March 05, 2014, 09:52:12 PM
I am having a problem getting USD wire into Bitstamp.

If bitstamp crashes too - that is the end of bitcoin forever.  No way bitcoin can survive two major exchanges stealing .5 billion each.  This whole thing is starting to look like a f-ing train wreck.

Gimme back my euros!!!
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: March 04, 2014, 09:01:28 PM
Just bought     99.09999994 msc      2014-03-02 14:34:10   Grin
This was a brilliant move and you will be paid very well in the end.

Most MSC on the sell side are from 'day traders' and JR and programmers.  Almost nobody has coins for sale as a result in loss of faith in the project.  Mastercoin has money in the bank, a very sexy new DEx coming soon, better than expected wallets, and lots of momentum.  The price has been seriously pushed down because JR needed money and a few programmers are taking salary from the market.  I am pretty sure MSC is going to be crazy by summer.  If significant use adoption occurs in the fall, your 100MSC will be enough to retire on in most countries.

i wish so much for this!!! let's make it happen
'wishing' is a waste of time.  It produces nearly the identical thing as 'praying'.  Don't 'wish', don't 'pray'.  Instead, find something to do to help.  Help the programmers.  Help the forum.  Help Terpin write a press release.   Help get blog posts about Mastercoin.  Do something.  If you can't figure out anything to do, send more cocaine and hookers to Zathras' house.  Just do something positive which helps.  Stop 'wishing'.  That sort of effort is for Dogecoin people.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has a Bitcoin hacker/thief ever been caught? on: March 04, 2014, 06:31:07 PM
we need bitcoin police
Coming soon.  Whether you like it or not.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has a Bitcoin hacker/thief ever been caught? on: March 04, 2014, 06:21:17 PM
Interesting info, share with us about that money recovered i'm really curious.
Who the F cares?  We'll make more.

The bottom line is this...
STOP USING BITCOIN FOR ILLEGAL SHIT.  IT FUCKS UP THE COMMUNITY.

632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has a Bitcoin hacker/thief ever been caught? on: March 04, 2014, 05:44:31 PM
has a BTC thief ever actually been tracked down and caught before?
Hell yeah.

Trendon T. Shavers
Charlie Shrem
Ross Ulbricht

Many others will join the list.  People mistakenly believe that just because they are using bitcoin all laws no longer apply.  They find out the hard way that drug dealing, money laundering, and fraud laws remain - no matter in which denomination these activities are taken up.  Fraud is fraud - whether done in dollars, euros, or bitcoin.  Don't make the mistake that using bitcoin means you are impervious to law.  These three idiots got confused about that.

The legal status of bitcoin is ambiguous; the legal status of fraud remains tight!

633  Other / Off-topic / Re: Mt.Gox stole my BTC. pls help! on: February 26, 2014, 12:11:13 AM
550 BTC seems to be the magic number lately.
No shit!  I lost 550 bitcoins too.  Please donate to me.  Sad

Bitcoin begging is so bizzare.  How the hell did this community get flooded with beggars?
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW is a waste of energy & destroys nature on: February 25, 2014, 10:05:52 PM
OP is idiotic.
and Bitcoin uses around 3,000 times more energy then Nxt.

3000 * Zero isn't very much.  OP is an idiot who wants you to buy NXT.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW destroys nature on: February 25, 2014, 02:16:44 AM
It is foolish to believe that effecient ASIC rigs will decrease the total power consumption of the bitcoin network, at best the power consumption doesn't change at all while the total hash rate will increase.
Why don't you just put a solar cell on top of your car and drive around for free all day?  People who can't add love this kind of shit.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW destroys nature on: February 25, 2014, 01:16:53 AM
I agree with you that it's a very unsignificant amount. BUT, mining is still very silly and non productive.
It produces bitcoins.  And, it is necessary to process transactions in a manner which assures they are not corrupt.  Next time you are at the stop light in your car, don't stomp on the accelerator.  This will save more energy than if we all ran heavy miners in our house.  Quit listening to green fools who can add.
637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW destroys nature on: February 25, 2014, 01:14:53 AM
Let's not forget about all trojan hijacked PC's where their CPUs/GPUs are used to mine bitcoin. That would not be possible with PoS.
queue up the commercial promotion for how great NXT is and how everyone should run out and buy that garbage.  Your pump and dump is struggling already?  Shame.
I don't own any NXT coins, but I believe PoS might be a better solution than PoW.
Dude, KnCMiner will supply all necessary mining systems in just about 6 months.  Those are wicked efficient compared to the old crap your numbers are based upon.  The have 3T machines which only take a ROM kilowatt.  This is a non issue.  NXT doesn't offer any advantage and HUGE disadvantages.  NXT will see a very serious dump in about more days of trying to stay afloat.

It is insane to waste energy on mining bitcoin

Bitcoin Mining Uses $15 Million's Worth Of Electricity Every Day
http://www.forbes.com/sites/timworstall/2013/12/03/fascinating-number-bitcoin-mining-uses-15-millions-worth-of-electricity-every-day/
Pure - unmitigated idiot.  '$15 Million worth of electricity'   Which of you morons believe that?  Even the article cited is largely dedicated to show that is complete bullshit.  Clearly, you are an incompetent fool who cannot perform even simple arithmetic.  Bitcoin mining takes about the same energy as it takes to make a few more tons of steel today.  A meaningless amount in comparison to the worlds demand for other crap.

Go back in your hole NXT promoters.  NXT only solves one problem - and that problem doesn't exist.  Green fools.
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can a laptop / data be recovered with only serial number (BTC DATA) on: February 24, 2014, 03:51:49 PM
I have the Macbooks serial number and all information located on the box / receipt.

Only problem is that this computer was stolen in late 2010 and I filed a Police report at the time but recent information has brought this computer to my attention once again, but on a different level, I have some very expensive data on this laptop and will pay UPFRONT for its recovery!

The NSA has all this information.  Write a nice letter to them and explain you'd like you data back.  Be sure to include the serial number so it more easy for them to find.  But if you don't have that, just give them your cell phone number and they will have everything on a disk for you within an hour.  No worries!
