621  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: September 05, 2014, 05:05:22 PM
I admit to only peeking into this thread on occasion and I don't currently use the service. But from I've been reading, things don't look so good.

So is the general consensus that this is just a well-disguised Ponzi or other scam?

I still haven't figured out how BAN can possibly pay 112.5% PPS and giveaway S3s and continue to operate for any length of time. But the answer appears that they simply don't payout as they promise and the S3s never ship.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

    You are wrong.

s0br has made every effort to make sure that the pool does not hold onto anyone's money. His original efforts had people actually complaining that they were being paid too frequently and complaining that they would rather wait until the payouts were totaling larger amounts before they were transferred. It just goes to show that you can't please everyone, no matter how hard you try. He's addressed these requests, and has made changes for pool members to decide how frequently.

It has been my experience that when you offer folks a deal that exceeds the 1:1 ratio of effort in their favor, they will find a reason to complain, hoping that they will get even more than the excess being offered. For instance, the "all you can eat buffet"; which tends to attract a certain clientele that will eat all that they can, and then make a spurious complaint, hoping to get that meal for free. Sometimes you can be too generous.

The "consensus" you've seen is one or two losers, using multiple accounts, that have nothing better to do between school classes, than harass the folks on this forum. In the MMO world, they are known as "griefers". I wouldn't put any value into their hate.

unfortunately I came to the same conclusion.  I do like all the interface work and the notifications too.  But having to track my work and not having the site up on numerous occasions it upsetting to me.

I get the idea that for s0ber the Pool is not his/her fulltime gig yet either.

I will continue to watch the board postings here and check the dashboard too.  If it becomes stable I'll move my multi-terrahashing operation back.

This pool gets better every day. If you check the opening post in this thread, and the index page for the pool's web-site, you'll read that this is admittedly a work in progress. There was no pretense offered that it was perfect... yet. Smiley The 12.5% bonus, and the S3 prizes, were enticements to attract a pool membership, and inspire some patience while the quirks are worked out; because he believes that one day folks will stay on this pool afterwards, knowing that in the long run, they will make money here for their efforts.

Nobody has lost any money here, and anyone that claims to has not worked with the support staff to clear it up.

Keep checking back. I think you'll be as happy with this pool as I am.

specialed you and a few others have repeatedly used the 'no one has lot any money here' line and it simply is NOT correct.  I lost money with missing/short payouts constantly up to and including yesterday, it's not ancient history.

Can you PM me your dates, hash rate, etc.? Trying to consolidate these requests in one place. Thanks.

I sent a message on Aug. 29th asking if the shortages everyone experienced were going to be taken care of and have not gotten anything for that but it seems others have.

Also sent you a message a few days ago with concerns about my payments coming in every 24 hours, or later now and sent you all the info but have not heard back. Also sent that info to Sobr yesterday too but haven't heard back.

Also did a test rental that according to my calculations should have actually made a small profit but ended up losing a small amount.

I don't have much hashing power and what is owed to me is not a huge amount but every bit helps.

Hopefully this will be taken care of soon?

Thanks

I have some things to trade listed on cryptothrift so thought I would try and post and see if I had something someone could use.

Thanks

I am getting so confused on what is still owed to me and I see some here getting back pay from what was owed but I still have not gotten anything from awhile back and recently.

I only have three antminer S1's running and according to bitcoinwisdom.com they should each be making $1.60 a day give or take depending on what the price is.

So I take that $1.60 and times it by 3 which then gives me $4.80 a day before the bonus.

When I add in the bonus it should be around $5.40 a day give or take?

My efficiency rating is pretty good at 99.93%

Does that seem about right or am I figuring it wrong?

Not sure what a good price range would be so I am just taking offers for now and seeing if anyone would be interested in partnering up to make this into a working website.

Thanks

Since there are so many people here with their own Bitcoin pool websites and there are so many here that have used rental sites I thought I would post this to see if anyone was interested.

I am kinda interested in trying to start a rental site but have no idea how to build a website.

I already registered a cool name I think that's kinda catchy for it and needed help making it happen.

Still for sale or still looking for someone to help make this into a rental site.

Thanks

Let me elaborate on the situation for you:

First they/he ordered 31 S3's - these were to be the backbone of a new pool setup. Then, they/he set up various fake user accounts on this forum & signed them up to their/his newly created pool & waited for new users to appear, but it was a bit slow to catch on. So, they/he then decided to start a free giveaway of one S3 to a "user" of the pool every day for a month in the hope that this would attract new & unsuspecting users to the pool, gleefully posting the UPS delivery confirmation of the aforementioned 31 S3's as "proof of prizes" waiting to ship. They/he then started the draw, awarding the S3's to the fake user accounts they/he had set up earlier, then logging on here with the fake accounts and confirming that their S3 had arrived as expected & how wonderful everything was. The beauty of this was that no expense was needed to ship them out to anyone, as they weren't actually going anywhere, and no proof of posting/delivery was needed either. Perfect plan, almost.

A couple of people started asking questions, then a few more, but no answers were forthcoming.......

The rest, as they say, is history.

I don't think is true.

I think there have been some bumps in the road and while some of the problems have been handled very well some others could have been handled better it seems.

All in all I would say this is an ok pool to mine at and the owner or owners seem honest.

Dear BAN Miners,

At this time, we are having to take the unfortunate step of temporarily suspending any further Antminer S3 drawings. For the sake of transparency, we will tell you that we are investigating some possible improprieties in how the last group of winners was chosen, and until we are certain that this contest is 100% random, we are temporarily suspending any additional drawings.

At this time, the BAN staff has not received an official position from s0br on this, we've heard he has been without internet access due to some weather issues. As such, we are taking the steps we feel are appropriate to bring the current situation to light until more investigation takes place and we can speak to s0br. Please note again that this is temporary.

Thank you for your understanding.

BAN Support

I don't understand this part? So will the winners that were chosen still get their prize?

One thing I wish would have happened if they did the drawing daily as I have been mining here since almost the beginning of the contest when there were very few people but as the pool grew it became unfair to hold the drawings with so many days passed as people who were not here still had a chance to win from all those days past.

Did I word that right?

Anyway what is going to happen now and what was possibly unfair about the latest drawing?

Thanks

Well I'll be darned! I just got my Antminer S3! I was the second winner and honestly I really didn't take the whole drawing thing very seriously but here we are. UPS guy knocked at the door and boom, brand new Antminer S3!

It shipped on August 18 and got here on the 25th. I haven't hooked it up yet but anyway, anyone interested in buying an Antminer S1? Smiley I haven't done any mods to it; I'd just rather run the S3 on its PSU slot than the S1 and hey, it should be a good piece of kit if you get that S3 upgrade kit from Bitmaintech!

I would maybe be interested in your antminer S1. I sent you a PM.

631  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Domain Name For Sale – www.sellyourhash.com on: August 25, 2014, 03:46:51 AM
I would feel most comfortable handling the customer service side of it. Dealing with day to day issues and learning about the technical side of it as I go along.

I don't know to much about building websites but I think after it was built there wouldn't be much upkeep on that side of it.

632  Economy / Digital goods / Domain Name For Sale – www.sellyourhash.com on: August 25, 2014, 02:58:40 AM
I have the domain name www.sellyourhash.com available for sale.

Would also maybe be interested in partnering with someone to make a website to rent and sell hash and hardware.

Thanks

Still learning about things and how they work and from what I understand now with the changes smaller amounts will be paid more frequently.

I am sure this is fine for some but for smaller miners like myself is there a way to change the payment threshold to make it higher so there will be less fees involved in transferring such small amounts?

I know the pool owner pays those fees but I just had a small transfer of 0.00223289 and 0.00012070 and 0.00096557. There is a 0.00010000 fee which seems like it will add up over time with many small payments. I would rather BAN save that mount rather than my wallet get each time.

Thanks

I would like to open a store or have a way to sell adult (non bootleg authentic) DVDs for Bitcoins.

Is that possible?

I am new to this so any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
