Are you using Windows 10? Then most likely it was some forced Windows update which included new drivers for your AMD GPUs. I ran into this problem a few times in the past. It would either not hash at all because all the overclocking settings were reset OR it would hash at a slow speed because compute mode was disabled by default.
It was a pain in the butt to disable but somehow with some reg hack I was able to prevent any updates from happening again. Search the web and there is a guide on how to disable Windows 10 updates. Its pretty indepth and you need to block access to certain DNS hosts.
there are (or were) a couple services that i disabled in win10 1709 and that machine has not updated since. pretty sure i didnt do any dns stuff (for instance my hosts file is still stock). but again that version 1709. that was from a guide i found online a couple years ago. so i have no idea where i got it or if that method (disabling various services only) still works. I'm still on version 1709 too. Here is that guide: 1) How to Disable Drivers Update in Windows 10: Windows key+R > Type gpedit.msc and hit Enter > Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update. Double-click "Do not include drivers with Windows Update" and set it to Enabled. 2) How to Disable Windows 10 Update: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update. Double-click "Configure Automatic Updates" and set it to Disabled. One of my rig updated to windows version 2004 and it seems that there is no changes in all my cards and also to mining speed, I have sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8gb and also the radeon software automatically updated to radeon 20.9.2 |

This new hardware from nvidia gain lots of attention specially their 3090 that worth almost $2k, but I see that there's also a humor of problem about this card, well see if Claymore and Phoenix will solve this problem in their mining software.

Hi, I have a problem, I have a rig with 5 GPU RX580 8GB - W10 - Claymore 15. With ethereum I have no errors and they are 158MHS total. But with ETC I get error OpenCL - 38 - cannot write buffer for dag. What's going on?

I have the same problem when switching to etc or vice versa, I don't even think where the problem come from, If that problem shows on my miner, I pull out some of my gpu's to riser, then shutoff the psu then psuh a long press with the miner's power button, after that I plug again my gpu's then turn on pc, then the problem resolve, It looks funny and estrange, But I lost all of my method to deal this problem. |

I have an issue with the miner apps, It never detect by windows as severe virus, but when I tried to install it, there's a popup shows that the apps is not aithorize to install even I run it as an administrator. today 4gb card stopped working again, fix?
Maybe it is just your virtual memory? I just tried it now using my 8 rx 570 4gb, but I got some dag creation error, I think this is the end of 4gb, anyway there's ather coin to mine with our 4gb or better to sell it until it has a better price. |

You can also just have a seperate wallet and use the button or rpc to set the payout address. Or You can copy your wallet.dat file to any desktop you want to mine with, if you want the rewards to go into the same mining address. Please remember to also save your 12 word passphrase in a safe place I tried to mine for almost 48hrs, but I have nothing to get or solve a block, I think it's very late to an ' i ' series processor to mine this coin that was started since 2014. Maybe a latest Ryzen will do a good spot but it's very expensive. |

The coming of this new technology is also the cause of dying of an old one.. Some of the coin that are launched way back 2012 onward suffered lost of support of their community because of this new innovation, unless this oldies will upgrade and innovate they will not be compete in this kind of technology.

Offtopic  @john1010, yes, maybe some day. But all these "minings" (cpu/gpu/asic/fpga) is some kind of sh@t and scam. Real decentralization and real mining based on "luck" and fair coin price be only then when there will be a Coin and algo+miner where mining can be available with one thread + signed mining (signed with your private key) and only with pool which give access only for one connection for one signed miner with one ip address. P.S. Sorry for my "English" =) We are all hoping for a fair and square mining dividends, At least the small and beginner in mining will be avle to mine a coin even though it was exist in few years. But the reality is, there's a bunch of greedy people who are not satisfied of what they've got. |

Do you have any instruction on how we start mining it using our cpu, any mining software to use, pools etc, I read the old thread, seems this coin is an old coin and the dev it hink want to relive or promote it again here. But this coin looks potential specially it is now listed on bitrex.
