621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people still play dice? on: September 18, 2015, 02:36:58 PM

Its interesting to try and use various systems to beat the games, it teaches you about math i find. In the end though dont use it to make any serious consistent money else you will be disappointed.

What about the Stoke City vs Leicester City game. Leicester being at the 2nd place is kinda unrealistic they will drop some points soon maybe even lose  Cool

Going with a stoke win, leicester are decent but like you say their current form and position is above where they will end up over a season.  Stoke are an easy top half finish this year.

625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: September 15, 2015, 07:35:33 PM

So im actually thinking of going for juventus as a shock win vs city tonight, its unlikely but might be worth a punt.  Man city might get their usual europe phobia and play rubbish and juventus are just the team to sneak out a 1-0 victory.

Liking this bet so far, city look different in europe as usual, juventus far the better team and could sneak a goal.  The chance to bet has probably gone now though the odds shifted to juventus too much.

627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather vs Berto: easy money? on: September 15, 2015, 05:19:24 PM

Mayweather losing at this stage in his career is not going to happen with an undefeated record.  The amount of money he can make after retiring with record clean is too great to lose to anyone even if it means paying them off.
628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $50k before Xmas on: September 15, 2015, 10:01:34 AM
Lets get back to ATHs before xmas first, not much time for it to start moving now.  It would be very hard to reach $50k before xmas i feel like we'd need a massive collapse in the economy to make that move happen so soon.
629  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: OpenBazaar - decentralized eBay on: September 15, 2015, 09:47:16 AM
It will also be much, much cheaper to use than eBay. I can't wait that they finish it though.

It might be cheaper and even better, but without the numbers or userbase it wont be much good. It's how I look at bitcoin. Obviously its better than fiat but it just doesn't have the userbase or merchant adoption yet.

The Bitcoin ebay site, BitMit, did pretty well with many merchants and quite a few users. And that was just a website run by one guy (who apparently was overwhelmed and shut it down).

Bitmit really wasn't doing that well and if it was it wouldn't have shut down. He could have just hired more people. Why would you kill a growing business. Cryptothrift is another. Sure people use it but not enough for it to be significant.

Maybe they weren't a growing business but still doing ok yet the owners had even better options to make money.  Then you would just sell the business though.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To stop centralization, you need to cap the Difficulty, not the Blocksize !!! on: September 15, 2015, 08:06:58 AM
I see, there are people saying that increasing block size will increase centralization. This is true. But, the heart of bitcoin, i.e. mining, is already centralized. And this is due to pool mining. I hear, miners will decide with their hash power that which BIP will win. But, this is practically pool owners are chosing, not an average miner. If you want to stop this centralization, break the pools. This requires capping the difficulty, not the blocksize.

But the higher the difficulty goes the more seure the networks becomes because of the technology rush.

I think a big problem with bitcoin is the average joe cannot mine succesfully like before though.

Easy bet for west ham to win, newcastle never showed up and would have been a great relegation bet at start of the reason.  Also Steve mcclaren is going to get the sack pretty soonish, probably in 6-7 games.

Without some huge media campaign I think it will take a while to build up a sizeable OB userbase (especially to people outside the btc community), it took Ebay years to get established so I expect OpenBazaar will also face the same challenge.

But OpenBazaar have no fees and no restrictions. It might take years to get a fairly large user base but it has a good incentives for people to use it.

People use ebay for the user base so yeah it should start out a quirky market place but end up looking like ebay with tons more stuff.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 14, 2015, 06:54:46 PM
Today I was reading a local sports newspaper and apparently William Hill are offering a prop bet on Mourinho getting sacked during the season or next summer for like 2.75 odds. Hilarious  Cool

Yeah pretty funny, i dont think abramovich brings him back for a second spell to sack him so easily. Abramovich knows football and can probably see they need a couple players and also everyone can have a bad spell.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: September 14, 2015, 06:51:47 PM
Ronaldo is an amazing player but I've already preferred Messi. I don't really know why, they are both so talented, maybe it's because Ronaldo seems like an arrogant asshole.

Me also, i think Messi is the greatest player ever quite easily.  The reason why is he is so unique, he does the hardest things in football the best.  Ronaldo is amazing player but isnt really that unqiue, hes powerful, skillful and can score tons of goals, we have seen players like this before.  Have we seen players like messi? im not sure maybe maradona perhaps but thats about it.
635  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: PriMeDice - Automated Money Maker (v1.1) on: September 14, 2015, 06:43:22 PM

Only way to beat dice is via the faucet or via some type of prime dice big you can exploit. If its a bug probably just best to report it for a reward.
636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 14, 2015, 09:56:49 AM
Man city must make a decision, if like win premier league or play in champions league, because for me not have all player for two competition.
Aguero don't play this week in champions against juventus?

They should just go for the champions league, they've already won the EPL in recent times there is nothing more to prove.  Arsenal's philosophy is make the top 4 every year and do your best in the champions league and its worked very well for them going deep a few times - very good considering there are many bigger clubs then them.
637  Economy / Gambling / Re: Strategies For Dice With Faucet on: September 14, 2015, 09:54:09 AM
Most dice websites give 200-500 satoshi from faucet. What are you strategies with these kind of amounts?
The faucet is just for trying a site out, you guys are making it seem as if you are making a living out of it, if you do want to earn why not offer your skills or earn using a signature campaign. A signature campaign is relatively easy way of making some "easy" btc IMO.

Yeah it does kinda spoil it for the rest of us when people do faucet whoring.  I remember i had a primedice faucet up to 3 or 4k every minute, now its every 3 mins and 1.3k.  Thanks faucet whores.

Dont really have a strategy as such but i do use the faucet for fun.  Usually try and double the faucet right away and then use various different methods to see how far i can take it.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you continue to support r/bitcoin and bitcointalk.com on: September 14, 2015, 09:46:52 AM
Just from this thread alone I've added about 6 users to my ignore list for worthless sig campaign posts or shitty English or both.  I like the fact that btctalk is not censored, but sig campaigns just do not help intelligent discussion.

Reddit is garbage.  Reminds me of Myspace back in the day.  Cluttered, ugly, and unintuitive.

The upvote system is the advantage of reddit, it does have some draw backs though like you say.  I'd rather a forum like this with an upvote system.
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 13, 2015, 08:25:22 PM
So is anyone taking Manchester City as outright winners of the season already?

No wait until europe starts and see if they keep their EPL form when they are distracted.  They are also huge favs right now wont get very good odds.
