UPDATE YOUR WINDOWS WALLET

So a problem with the code caused the debug.log file to have extra fluff that caused it's size to become huge. If you have limited HDD space then make sure you update your wallet. It is no big deal but I recommend you to update it. The new links have been posted in the first page of the ANN.

Here are the new links:

anyway what's wrong with bosman? he gave up on this coin ?

Relax. Bosman isn't going anywhere, he's a busy guy and remember he has a day job  Cool
But he didn't show up for 2 days. Everyone here has their job too. At least I want to know he is not going to give up.

I don't wanna be paranoid, but I KINDA feel a bit paranoid about the lack of Bosman..

I have no idea where he is.. I'm holding off making the website for now until he shows up

The website phase will be ready in maybe the next day as far as content and structure goes. After that, we need to host it somewhere.
Bosman, any further details on hosting options?

Ok. Let's get Group listed on BTER our next community goal.

I've had one too many coffees and my mind is taxing with ideas which I think may give us some direction.

First: everyone is waiting for the price to increase by itself without actually doing anything to help it. No ones fault. This crowd behaviour is actually called "the bystander effect", where everyone assumes someone else will do something, so consequently no one does anything. No shame there, just human psychology.
Solution: we do something. I suggest a weekly goal that the community or sections of the community can agree on doing beforehand and is delivered within the week. For example, a twitter campaign for everyone to retweet a post about group coin, or everyone going to the reddit and upvoting at least one post.

Second. People have a positive reaction to announcements on this coin. Project x lifted the price slightly for a time. The whitepaper dramatically lifted the price. We need consistent news that something is being developed or worked on to inspire confidence every day, otherwise apathy will make the price languish.
Solution, no more secret projects. It may be sad to think that project x did not raise the price at all. Personally I think that the effect was that people's expectations wee unnecessariy too high and mayhave been disappointed by a simple android wallet, even though it was a good feature.
I can commit to working on a website this week and consulting with the community each day. that should be the second goal of the week.

I'm not trying to hijack the project, just simply do not want to see a great idea fail. Bosman needs help and I'm stepping up this week to try. Mothermole out

We should pimp the price a little bit and start trading of this coin... with all good features it will be succesful just we cant all wait for price to drop to 50

I think the big problem is thy all the regular users have bought their share, set their sell orders and are waiting patiently for the price to rise. We seem to have hid a saturation point with amount of BTC we can buy with as a community. I guess what we need to do is maybe remove all our sell orders up to a target price, say 600 satoshis and build walls with any spare capital we have. This wil require enormous trust of group profits overs personal profits, will individual greed allow this? I hope so Smiley is this a good strategy?

So. I reckon we need a two prong strategy going forward. We firstly need to develop new features for the coin including services around the coin. Secondly I think we need a marketing blitz to put the coin in people's minds again, and to alert new users who have never heard of us. Development is easy enough I think. What we need is a huge focus on getting us onto cryptsy and mintpal. How would this be best achieved? Tweeting @bigvern and @mintpal in unison may be a good idea I think. To grow from here, we must outgrow bittrex and set ourselves higher goals. Thoughts?

Hey guys, I got bored so I created a website for GROUPCoin. It's one of those fancy parallax scrolly ones too lol. I don't have a domain so I zipped it up so you can run it locally. Lol I promise I didn't put any viruses in it, feel free to scan the folder before opening it Tongue

https://mega.co.nz/#!754SgQzA!kCbjOEAFsDasnLjfXrcFF6KL5brxsygljFqUUFWLqC4

Anyway, what do you guys think, we are a democracy so let's democratize away!

Content wise, up to Bosman to voice his opinion of what goes where. I reckon have links to the wallets, twitter and IRC along too, but I didn't get time to set that up.

Oh yeah, and all of the images i've used are just mock-ups, I haven't checked anything to do with licensing, but that should be straight forward.

As far as extra features go, it'll be dead simple to put in a price ticker perhaps or maybe a poll feature for currently suggested development features?

Note that the fonts haven't been well thought out, colours probably contrast etc. All things that can be fixed up with some more time Smiley

the app need access to ur cam or mic to control it btw..it can take pictures or can hear what u say...

Obviously every serious android wallet needs access to the camera to scan qr codes  Roll Eyes

Haha I din't even realise that lol

Go ahead your noobs, hold this shit forever, you think some one is going to pump this shit again?

besides KEY is a much better option than this shit, omg those noobs really believe this coin is going from more than 800 satoshi , this is the most stupid dream i ever seen!

BTW you really think people will get in again?

all people already know bossman is the worst dev , he has no good skills like Cloak and Key dev (just a kid trying some strategy to make some BTC)

and he comes with this awesome idea of a 100% pre-mine and sell shares (people buying this must be really stupid)

Good day kind sir, let me address your points in order.

1. We are not holding forever, we are simply holding for the currentperiod as we believe the coin has a good chance of increasing its price again.

2.Key is its own coin and direct 1-1 comparisons are a mistake to make, as communities, technologies and ethos' differ.

3. It is not a dream to believe Group will hit 800 satoshi again, simply a technical analysis guided judgement, that only 8.5BTC worth of groupcoin are stacked between here and nearly double the price at 800.

4. Yes I do think people will continue to arrive at platform GroupCoin.

5. Bosman is simply not the worst dev. There have been some real stinker devs, and Bosman has done nothing to indicate he is not competent.

6. I believe Bosman looks to be an adult from his pictures he has published.

7. Pre-mining and selling shares ensures that the coin has an even distribution. if you were to check the rich list for Groupcoin here
http://blockexperts.com/gpc
You would find that the coin is very well distributed across the top addresses in the rich list. No 5 whales are holding 40% of the coin as is apparent for KeyCoin
http://chainz.cryptoid.info/key/#!rich

8. Why are you so intent on disseminating this information? Are you our saviour from the demon dev that is Bosman? If so, your generosity and self-lessness to come along and warn us should be congratulated.

Yours sincerely,
The GroupCoin Commnunity

It look as if the markets are slowly moving up in response to the imminent news

Project "X" is in testing and will be announced 08/12/14 8 PM EST.

Can't wait to see how chimpanzees and the airforce figure into this. Unless somehow that promo poster wasn't 100% accurate?

Haha you legend Smiley
636  Other / MultiBit / Re: Wierd transaction, am I in control? on: August 12, 2014, 06:26:51 AM

Heres what I think is that 14.5 transaction from my wallet. Can this be accurate? Is it possible I have/had another wallet on any of my two computers and this money has bounced between? (sounds so stupid, i know).

Firstly, there is not much chance of recovering the original wallet.dat if the hard drive has been formatted and then had Wndows 7 installed over the top of it i'm afraid.

Secondly, your funds are unlikely to be bouncing between two accounts without you knowing about it.

My guess is that for some reason, that 14BTC was sent to that new address as part of a new wallet on your computer. You may have misinterpreted the total balance as being in ONE address as opposed to it actually being split into two addresses. It doesn't seem as if the account was hacked, as when that address was generated, the first payment of 14.3BTC was deposited and has remained there for several months.
If this was the case, then that is why you can't recover the missing amount from your backed up files.
However, there have been multiple payments to that address over the last several months and one withdrawal at the end here
I'm not sure if this is a mistake on your part, the last movement in that address was in mid-july so if the timing is right for when you noticed, you can work out if they could have been mistaken transactions.

You can try to recover the wallets from your old user's appdata using file recovery software, but it will be quite hard as your whole HDD was formatted as opposed to just having several files deleted. Recuva, by Piriform is good tool for this and has helped me in the past and it may just work.

Good luck to you friend Wink

I personally think that everyone is over-dramatizing everything. Just chill out on the hyper-speculation of things and support the coin that you felt worthy of you being a part of in the first place.

I am inclined to agree, but with one caveat. The dev Bosman has said that there is a problem recruiting potential staff for the coin. That needs to be addressed as a very important part of the growth. Doge suffered a falling out between the two main players and that further createda downspiral. Management, even decentralized management is crucial to the growth and attraction of qualified members of staff, referring to my previous post.

TL;DR
We need an active community beyond generating 'nice-to-have' ideas and passively watching markets.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. What I was actually talking about but to a less extreme is, This is not dogecoin, this is not any other coin. This is Groupcoin. This is a coin of unprecedence. It just feels like even associating ourselves with other names, subliminally gives the impression that we should be thought of comparatively.

I don't know, maybe i'm just blowing crap out my ass, lol. and if that's the case, sorry

I agree. I want this experiment to work out. Sadly I'm not qualified for any of those positions advertised as I have a much too busy work schedule to commit to anything beyond a few bitcoins invested and some time on the forum. We need to attract the right developers and marketers who can be at least part-time devoted to the betterment of the coin. Hard to find on a sceptical platform like BTCTalk am I right? Again, I reckon it's a matter of incentivizing joining the GROUPCoin experience for any fence-sitters. Usually best achieved via BTC changing hands Smiley Smiley

I guess that's true.. I find that the hype surrounding a coin can really make or break people's perceptions of its value and worth. If a coin which was well received a few days ago (35BTC per day) suddenly drops to page 3 on Bittrex with 3BTC per day of volume, people's perceptions may be that it is a scam, PnD or any other negative thing. I realise that the price WILL rise again, I just worry that the whales and speculators who drive a lot of crypto's volume and velocity will pass over the coin. Doge lost its whales and speculators and NO amount of community endeavour could save the 90% loss in market cap over 6 months. /rant

I suppose. But I never equate volume as to meaning a coin is good or not. Also not sure if GPC has even been about long enough to attract whales... a big whale could simply swallow the coin whole. I think it's just a lot of us little fish swimming in GPC right now.

Things that could help is if the dev did some of that hiring stuff, got more folks involved and there were more discussions on potential new coin features. I think some of that may have moved over to reddit, but it's been sort of quiet here in that regard the past couple of days.

So long as folks see an active dev or team, see things being worked on or discussed, it sort of keeps people a bit less on edge... basically helps support the price of a coin while things are being worked on.

I haven't gone anywhere and I have ended up staking a large amount of BTC on the project to help invigorate the GPC project. That said, the ultimate goal is decentralization of the GPC projects development...

I need you guys to support and expand the project. This is as much your coin as it is mine! If you're looking for a one trick pony I am not that kind of dev. I am saddened that I haven't had the response that I've been looking for but I will persevere. Step up to the plate folks, show me your leadership. I will keep going and spending BTC on futuring this project, but without you this will not reach it's full potential

Do not give up, we can find the right person to develop together Grin

I think that the problem is that developers are either wary about getting paid in a coin which isn't guaranteed to pump in price, along with the fact that most developers are wary of joining new projects which  may go bust (not saying it will).

I feel that maybe the GPC devs will need to be enticed to the project via payments in BTC and future payments in GPC.
Bosman, if you put a bounty for a dev with 2BTC payment on delivery, that is WAY more enticing than a payment for 200,000 GPC, which they may pass over as a scam. We know that GPC is great, prospective developers need to come to this forum via promise of real profits for them. What do you reckon?

Sigh.... Lol i'm sick of waiting. BTW, mad low volume today.. Less than 3 BTC?!?

Some coins can barely manage .1 btc daily ... 3 btc on a slow day isn't that bad. I remember when Drk wasn't even getting 3 btc/daily on Bittrex for a while.

I guess it is true that 3 days = 300 years in cryptotime. People really have no patience at all.
