621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: October 16, 2023, 03:46:10 PM
Even without these restrictions,  many women still won't gamble.  The percentage of women who gamble will still be low. Gambling is a risky adventure and a good percentage of women are risk adverse. They are so sensitive to financial losses which is not healthy for any gambler. I do not see women as better gamblers,  considering their emotional attachments to bets if they eventually lose

The few women who manage to gamble are stereotyped.  I know an aunt who gambles.  People's opinion about her have been negative and with the fact that she's yet to get married, it is assumed that no man would want to end up with a woman who gambles. All these negative opinions have chased lots of women away from active Gambling
i once saw a study that said that men actually don't really like women who are independent, women who are bossy, women who are too spoiled and women who gamble, that may be the underlying reason why the aunt who gambles at your place is still not married until now, there will be no man who loves a woman like her, after all, men need to be served and respected, most women who gamble are quite stubborn and find it difficult to appreciates her family, what a bad woman to be a mother.
622  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What if the internet permanently shuts down on: October 16, 2023, 03:25:16 PM

I'll focus on finance, so I'm thinking what will happen to the bitcoin inside wallets, what will happen to every fiat currency in bank accounts, if everything erases as a result of internet total breakdown? Who do we hold responsible? I know that the internet technology is manmade, therefore it can not be hundred percent immune to faults and external attacks. And what if there is that less than one chance of it being faulty or compromised, what if that less than one  chance happens,? what will be the fate of the world that mainly depends on it to get things done? I'm no tech guru or a prophet of doom, but this are my thoughts and fears on the matter, although I sincerely hope that I'm very wrong on these thoughts.

I'd love to be enlightened better on why it can be impossible that the internet can never be permanently shutdown, having in mind the shortcomings that I've mentioned?
hahaha, Your concern is really excessive, the possibility of the internet shutting down permanently is 1%, this is because people in this world without exception are very dependent on the internet, even international governments in various countries continue to work hard to develop and improve internet infrastructure by continuing to upgrade the world's internet network until Now we have reached 5G, Elon Musk has also started to get involved in making the world's internet network continue to be active through his Starlink project, so you don't need to worry too much at this time, there is no reason for the internet to shut down permanently.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you not gamble on women sports? (tennis not included) on: October 16, 2023, 03:04:30 PM
i never bet on women's sports, i don't know them at all, i think that women have an age limit in sports, usually they will immediately focus on family when they get married and have children, in contrast to men, who can continue to be athletes even though they i'm married and have children, basically i don't have any idols in sports played by women, so i won't take the risk of betting on women's sports.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you manage greed to place your bet on: October 15, 2023, 09:20:25 PM
Again why do you regret after putting smaller amounts and it happens the games went as planned and starts blaming yourself for not increasing your bet amount, maybe by now you could have cashed out big time. How do you control this thought over your ends do you keep to your regulations of always placing bets with some limits or you place bet according to your mind and regrets after losing that amount for not following your limits?

Lets discuss wisely and if something related to this post please point it out.. Maybe would devote time to study what has been written over there.
As a fully aware gambler, i have never regretted the bets i made, the phrase "what if" never crossed my mind, i think that in all the gambling activities we do, we must be in control of it.

i also wonder whether by regretting it, time will turn back and i would have made a big profit if i had placed more bets at the start!!

anyway, you can't regret all the decisions you have taken, just believe in yourself and you have played safely.
625  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know When to Stop. Lesson for Everyone, Particularly Investors on: October 15, 2023, 08:24:29 PM
If you ever catch yourself hurrying to make a trade – Pause.
One reason why traders hurry to place trades is because some may have set targets for themselves. They have set target of profit that they hope to make so they are always in the market to try to make profit off from it. So from trying to always make profit from the market, they sometimes may be under hurry to make  a hurried trade. Setting financial targets can be beneficial, but care should be taken not to put yourself under pressure that can lead to making hurried decisions, hurried decisions usually end up the wrong choices.
People who are under pressure, without realizing it, will definitely tend to make fatal mistakes, this is what causes many traders to suffer big losses, so it is very important for traders to apply full discipline to the trading activities they are carrying out, don't let their expectations fall too much makes them take wrong decisions and steps in their trading activities.  Just think realistically in trading and always apply that trading will not always give you a profit, then you will not feel too under pressure.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Credit card gambling fuels gambling addiction on: October 15, 2023, 07:45:30 PM

Which makes me think that Credit card is far more helping to fuel gambling addiction more than anything else, you don't actually have the money, but you can still gamble, this alone will make people to lose their minds and gamble anyhow.

I'm glad I don't even like using Credit cards for gambling and my reason isn't even because of possible reckless gambling but because I don't like centralized payment solutions, you should stay away from using Credit card to gamble online, it sure would easily throw you out in the street, homeless.
Many people actually don't really understand what they are doing with the credit card they have, they think that the limit the credit card has is all their money, in fact they are very wrong, some credit card providers even deliberately collaborate with casino business owners. to make players tend to incur debt and this is what is very dangerous, if you have a credit card then never be careless to use up all the limits on the card, remember to only gamble responsibly, don't gamble with capital that you can't afford to lose.
627  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie Don't be afraid of buying Bitcoin on: October 14, 2023, 08:50:13 PM
The purchasing power of 1Us dollar vs 1Bitcoin clearly shows that one is going to zero, while the other is not.

When we compare Bitcoin with the best, most used fiat and most reliable currency in the world, the Us dollar it clear show that Bitcoin is on a different level to the Us dollar.
Let me show you why wealthy men like changpeng Zhao(cz), Brian Armstrong, Jed mc Caleb etc can hold billions in Bitcoin without being afraid.

If you are afraid that Bitcoin would go to 10k,ask yourself why they hold billions in Bitcoin.
Don't you think that they had more insight than you will ever have?
Why do you think Nasdaq crashed 1.8% 2days ago  and Bitcoin holding 27k line? Buyers still buy no matter what, that shows confidence in Bitcoin, and remember retail got no money right now.
Inflation is too high, retail salary vanished day it arrives, it not retail that buy Bitcoin now,
you wouldn't like to hear this, but the one buying assets now are the wealthy, they will likely continue the trend of the rich getting richer
it is difficult to make the mindset of poor people and the mindset of rich people same, especially since poor people do not have good financial management knowledge, besides that rich people have privileges that poor people do not have, sometimes for someone to become rich, they need a privilege and not everyone is lucky to get that.  I was once in the zone of really having no money, at that time all that came to my mind was getting money to survive, luckily now my finances have improved, and I can slowly invest part of my profits in bitcoin, but regardless of that, investing in bitcoin will never harm you, in fact in the long term it is very profitable.

@Jay you have really impacted a lot of knowledge on me which has been helping me on my Bitcoin journey I could remember when I came here with a less knowledge about strategies of accumulation using DCA, with this tread I was able understand and add the knowledge I have gathered from here to my existing ones which has been very helpful.

Referring back to your comments, of course is very unwise to uses the money that's meant for other expenses to invest because he is likely going to get into trouble later on because when the need will arise he will be left with no option but to sell off the investment. Perhaps this could be referred as an ignorant investor whom sees a possibility of getting into trouble if taking a certain decision but still went ahead.
Jay's opinion is the best at the moment to encourage us to invest wisely, because investing without knowledge and also having a target is just a gambling activity.

why is the DCA concept highly recommended to every bitcoin investor because that way you have full control over the money you make, for example every month you make $1k from the work or business you do and you invest $300 or $400 every month to buy bitcoin, so you still have around 65% of the money you earn left, you can use it for your daily needs and set aside a little for your emergency fund, however, this emergency fund is what you can use later for urgent expenses, so you don't sell Bitcoin that you invested so far.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 13, 2023, 10:21:12 PM

So a friend told me that a mutual friend tried to replace his gambling addiction with another another one because he has tried all everything else. The new addiction is PS4. He pays for extra on the game and he is getting more and more into it. According to my friend, this mutual friend feels that paying $20 per month its subscription is better than $100- $500 on slots where he ends up losing.

Well I told him that this is basically cross addiction and what that mutual friend is trying to do is like running away from the truth. Not wanting to face the core issue. So he is justify spending $20 and not on slots when both are unhealthy addictions that can have far reaching consequences. He just has to sit and face his addiction head on without looking for a replacement addiction which is just as bad.

Ever heard of cross addiction or suffered from it?
What do you think?
In fact, everyone has an addiction and if the addiction has really disrupted your lifestyle then you have to try to stop it, and from the story that the OP told, i think cross-addiction is just as bad as gambling addiction, even though the money spent by the victim is not as much as When he is addicted to gambling, try to give advice to your friends or relatives so that they avoid any addiction, focus only on positive things such as reading, volunteering or exercising to divert the addiction they are experiencing.
630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: some of the best ways to secure yourself from scammers on: October 13, 2023, 08:29:31 PM
Vigilance, awareness, and sound security procedures are all necessary for scammer protection.
Here are some of the finest defences against con artists
Learn for Yourself Your strongest line of defence is knowledge. Keep up with typical fraud schemes and techniques. The more information you have, the easier it will be to spot and prevent such frauds.
Check identities Never give personal or financial information to anybody without first confirming their identity. Request formal credentials and check with the organisation by contacting them through their website or other contact details.
there are many types of fraud in this world and the most common ones are love scamming, identity scamming, investment scamming and crypto scamming so we all have to be diligent in reading and finding out in detail about whatever comes to us and never be easily tempted by whatever they offer, verify it first and take more time to research before truly believing it and always leave 1% of doubt even on things that look convincing.  Fraudsters don't choose their victims, if you are weak and trapped then it's your fault.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in bitcoin and forget the investment on: October 13, 2023, 07:44:17 PM

The way I'm looking at next bullrun am thinking that the bullrun will be something that will push bitcoin price  to approach hundreds thousands [100] for the price, but people will not invest now. I split my funds currently to different of coins expecting that if I don't make profit in any of the coins when bullrun comes I will surely make profit in bitcoin because bitcoin price now is no longer going downward or going upwards, but any move the price will make to go up the price will increase, I'm expecting the price of bitcoin to rise in 2025 and 2026 so any investment in bitcoin  should be expected till next two years or three years time. Summary, invest in bitcoin and forget about the investment and hope that you will make profit after some years coming.
i like your idea of suggesting people who invest in bitcoin forget the bitcoin they bought for a moment and then remember it again in the next 3 years or so lol, but you have to remember to always protect the password and also the private key of the personal wallet where you store your bitcoin, don't let it happen because you want to forget for a moment, you forget where you put your password and private key (you have to learn from several incidents of people who lost their Bitcoin wallet private keys because of their own negligence)

633  Economy / Economics / Re: Save your environmental economic cycle on: October 12, 2023, 07:30:49 PM
Hi, friends.

We are currently in a chaotic phase of global economic uncertainty, everywhere in the world is almost similar to this situation in terms of economy, energy scarcity, food scarcity and many others. but that's not what will be discussed with friends here.

A few days ago I was walking around the housing complex, and I noticed that a lot of grocery stores and other needs (conventional/retailers) had gone bankrupt, maybe this happened because prices were soaring even worse, and people prefer to buy from online stores instead of buying from neighbours, which causes the economy to slow down is undeniably this is the impact of the global economic chaos and technological advances.

If you are a person who has money to shop for daily needs, I suggest you buy from merchants around you instead of shopping online whose stores are far from your place. This must be done to turn the wheels of the economy in your neighbourhood and save them from bankruptcy, at least you give them space to live.
Currently we are in a society that is busy with online shopping, they don't realize that by shopping online, they make it difficult for offline traders to survive, but that's natural selection, when you can't keep up with the changing times then don't be sad if you miss out.  i almost never buy things online, i prefer to buy the things i need or want from offline sellers (my reason is simple, i don't trust things sold online) i know they have a little difficulty generating buyers at the moment, however they need buyers to survive.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodling vs trading on: October 12, 2023, 04:06:44 PM
Good piece. Anyways Hodling is okay as we all know, hodling can be liken to spot trading while the other trading you’re trying to talk about can be liken to futures trading.

You just have to be smart when it comes to trading because of the risk attached to it and as for the newbie I will suggest copy trading in order to copy trade from professionals so as to avoid running into loss, newbies can also opt in for the bot trading feature, it’s available on Bitget and other prominent exchanges.
Both holding and trading are each person's choice, but imo holding is more relaxing than trading, when discussing profits, the results of both can vary greatly. Anyway, you mentioned copy trading here, to be honest, i don't really recommend it because there are many things that you must fulfill in order to implement copy trading well, it would be much better if you studied hard and mastered trading itself rather than depending on copy-trading.

IMO, Holding will always win from many sides compared to trading.
Long-term holders really enjoy prices and market conditions that occur. Regarding the benefits gained also differs much from the benefits gained through trade and can be proven and has often been proven that is recognized by trade actors.
yep hodling or trading has different benefits and different people have different choices, people who understand trading will definitely choose trading which is much better than holding while people who really prefer calm prefer to be a holder rather than trading, that's all choices and results also cannot be equalized.
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: October 12, 2023, 03:37:15 PM

1. always set a budget for playing slots and stick to it. do not chase losses or try to win back what you have lost by playing more.
2. if a slot machine does not hit in 7-10 spins, consider trying a different machine. this can help you avoid getting stuck on a losing streak and losing more money.
3. if you have been playing a slot machine for 50 spins and have not gotten any free spins or big wins, consider switching to a different machine.
this can help you avoid wasting money on a machine that is unlikely to pay out.
4. avoid playing slots from Pragmatic and Gamomat as they tend to have low payout percentages and are not as likely to result in big wins.
5. be careful when playing slots from Belatra and Spinomenal as they can be unpredictable and may not always pay out as expected.
6. if you do hit a big win, consider tipping any nearby players who may have been unlucky or busting. This can help spread good karma and keep the atmosphere positive.
7. avoid getting "slot psychosis" where you get stuck on one machine for too long. remember that slots are based on random chance and there is no guaranteed way to win.
so, take breaks, switch machines and remember to have fun!
8. first check the RTP (reward to player) and RTP should between 96%-100%
Thank you OP, the information you provide is very useful, i have also heard from several traditional slot players that playing on just one slot machine will only make us lose more, not more wins, some traditional casino slot machines are designed not to lose.  i also tried playing pragmatic slot games several times and the result was that my winnings were very low (this is the main reason why i haven't played slots anymore in the last few years), regarding giving a little tip to losing players when we win is good advice, ready know that the small amount of money you give can make him return the capital he has lost.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 11, 2023, 09:51:58 PM
The thing that makes someone tired of waiting is usually because they have too high expectations for something, and in this context, people who are tired of waiting for bullish Bitcoin are those who think Bitcoin can make them rich in a short time (profit is their goal) but for those who don't have the intention of getting rich quickly from Bitcoin, it won't bore them because their goal is long-term investment and there's no rush.  anyway, i never intended to get rich from Bitcoin, i support how Bitcoin will improve the world's finances and more and more people are adopting bitcoin then i'm not bored with bitcoin.
637  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational on: October 11, 2023, 09:24:16 PM
Wether it's been supported by the central or local authority it can only mean two things, which are;

1. To persons that are into gambling already it may be a reminder of why  that they shouldn't give themselve's to addiction as they  gamble. But telling them gambling is bad is something am not sure will penetrate fine into their hearings.
Parades have become part of the life of many communities around the world and according to Wikipedia there are so many parades that continue to be held throughout the world.  usually parades have to get permission from the government to be able to start and what i saw in the OP, the parades that are held have the aim of educating citizens about the impacts they will receive when playing slots excessively, countries with large levels of gambling addicts should hold parade about gambling every year.

2.It's invariably serves as a broadcast, an advertisement or publicity to the knowledge of those group of people in that very society who haven't had a thought about gambling. This parade can ignite their curiosity to try it out for the first time and see how it seems like and then from their they've added to the already existing number of gamblers that exist there.

On the other hand, even if the parade it's gonna have an effect, it's not gonna be that effective based on the aforementioned above.
We can't also classify that the parade that is being held is for educational purposes because there are several parades that have promotional purposes.  i don't expect people coming to the slot parade at OP to be curious about slot games because it can really damage the lifestyle of young people who don't understand how to gamble responsibly.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: The Role of Education in Financial Literacy on: October 11, 2023, 02:24:54 PM
I am not sure if this is hundred percent true or not. There is friend of mine who is MD Surgeon in orthopaedics. He has done hundreds of major and minor surgeries till now but one thing he never did is, saved. He did not save his money properly, Never thought of investing his money in some sort of investment portfolio. All he do is live an expensive lifestyle, get good cars, enjoy holidays in exotic places. The question is whether he would be fine when it comes to emergencies in the lifetime or maybe things go south in the future or at the age of retirement? He doesn’t care about it even if he is so much educated and talented. Sometimes peeps are not thinking straight. They would just think about the current timeline. However, in today’s world you never know what sort of situation will hit you hard. Better get the lesson from inside out with own sense of managing finances. No one can help oneself with that.
The thing that most often traps people is the comfort zone, right now your friend is in the mindset that there is no tomorrow, he always spends a lot of money in proportion to what he earns, in the long term, of course, his lifestyle is very dangerous, he will definitely borrow money or sell valuables when he is really in trouble for money, financial management education is important and not everyone wants to take the time to learn it, self-reward is important but saving for the future is much more important.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 11, 2023, 01:33:17 PM
How will you feel if someone you know or just a friend of a friend walk up to you and ask you to finance them in gambling in exchange for a portion of their winnings? Does this even make any sense?

Because the only place this makes a bit sense is the skills base niche like forex trading or crypto trading, how can gambling/gambler be financed?

Have you heard of such before? What is the end result if you have?

Why would you trust anyone to gamble better than you can when it's all about luck?

Is anyone doing this on here?

Someone explained this to me, and I believe he is already a victim because to me it doesn't make sense, I believe he is been used because he lacks knowledge about gambling, do you think my judgment is wrong?

In fact, you take a very big risk when you put your money in CEX, so entrusting your money to a gambler is the most ridiculous thing that i would never do, surely that person will make a drama and convince us that he has worked hard with the money we have entrust him, we as money givers will definitely regret it in the future because we have entrusted our money to other people to gamble with.  you have to be able to manage your own money, because the best way to avoid scams is to manage your own money, it's not easy to get money nowadays, don't trust anyone to play your money in gambling.
640  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: October 10, 2023, 09:40:26 PM
I watched it on a news report here, and when I saw it, I was amazed, but I was also concerned from another angle. Yes, the delivery time will be accelerated, but it is dangerous for the delivery person.

Why did I say that? because if, for example, there is a technical problem while he is in the air, it can be a wick or the cause of the skyrider's death. Because of course it's a machine, we can't say when it will suddenly have a technical problem. So that job is also quite dangerous, to be honest.
That's right, to be able to lift a human using a rocket bag, quite in-depth research is still needed (the point is to reduce the error rate in the equipment down to the smallest level), the development carried out also definitely requires large costs so to be able to see human rocket bags capable of transporting humans, we may still need several decades to come.  it cannot be denied that air transportation has quite a lot of advantages compared to land transportation, but humans are still competing to create vehicles that are fit to fly and transport people.
