621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think China will lose by banning Bitcoin? on: October 27, 2022, 03:35:09 AM
I am bullish on the future of Bitcoin as a technology.

We all know that China has a total ban on cryptocurrencies, including but not limited to no mining, no circulation, no trading, no banking services, no listing on exchanges.

What do you think countries have to lose by making this choice?
I don't know what the Chinese state will lose if they decide to get out of bitcoin but I don't think they have anything to lose because they must have had a lot of bitcoins stored in one place. And maybe the total ban is only temporary and to give negative news to the world so that it can hit the bitcoin price and they can take advantage of it.

Meanwhile, we don't even know what China's strategy is in this regard so we all think there is a loss to China. And their leader must have thought it through well so it could continue as usual.
They just told the world they have 1 trillion dollar deficit, that’s literally 1 trillion dollars. If they get out of bitcoin world as well, that’s just going to be even worse and worse. If they allowed their people to be in crypto fully, like not just allow it, but support it then things would change.

Online world is billions of dollars worth of world, look at alibaba and tiktok which are online companies that grew out of China, they need more stuff like that and they will be able to fix that deficit. You may think it won't, but 10 companies that size would actually cover a good chunk of it. Bitcoin is part of the online world, they can't just lock it down.

I guess it is time for the Lakers to rebuild the whole team because LeBron James won't be around soon and he himself said that he's going to go that team where his son, Brony, will be drafted. It's been a while too since they had a risky step because in the past few years, they are too busy building a superteam and following around LeBron, it's time to stop that and focus to the new generation that will carry the name of the franchise.
I feel like they are secretly doing that already. I say secretly because they do not have picks right now, but they managed to build a team where they will have a ton of space. Right now, they have a huge one at 166 million right? Russell Westbrook is at the end of his contract if I am not wrong, or maybe he will have 1 more year of player option? Lebron is on his last year as well.

You know who has contract after this season ends? AD and Damian Jones and Max Christie, the later two combined for 4 million and AD will be 40 million. Meaning they will have 120 million dollars of contracts gone. This will allow them to take on bad contracts after bad ones for picks. Just this year, they could offer AD to a team, in exchange of getting their pick + all the bad contracts they have. Meaning they will have absolutely nobody from this year, and the pick. That’s the power they are holding currently.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: October 26, 2022, 06:53:53 PM
man, you cannot compare Ligue 1 and Champions league, in any way

it is easy to dominate in Ligue 1, first because it is season long, so each mistake can be outdone later on, and quality is far lower than CL, and in Champions league one game can decide everything, they will pass group stage, but they lack quality and mental strength to reach final stages against tough competitors, like Real, City or Bayern
Not enough competitive compare between Ligue 1 and Champion League because PSG almost every season dominance with Ligue 1 tittle but difficult to get Champion League tittle except latest achievement lead until final stage at season 2020.

Last two season Champion League most difficult faced by PSG after beating by Real Madrid at 16 round last edition time, seems with impressive performance on group stage and PSG should finish at 1st standing on group stage have chance to get easy team on 16 round. I think still with strength mentality team will lead to final stage like Real Madrid, Liverpool and Bayern Munich seems are favorite team have chance lead until final stage. I don't think with PSG favorite can lead until final stage at Champion League in this season.
I think there is a bit of difference based on having just 2 games to survive versus having a whole season. If you put all 32 teams in the group stages of UCL, and make them play with each other twice, which would be 64 games, then you will see that PSG may end up at the top.

Because, they could have a few loss but the overall would be good. But when you tell them to either win or go home, they may not be that great. Look at last year, they almost won and then in span if 2 minutes they lost. This is why it is very hard in a tournament structure and not so hard in a league structure. So the difference is not just ligue 1 vs ucl, it’s also cup vs league situation as well.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 25, 2022, 08:38:20 PM
I think it's useless if it's in good management but Ten Hag's strikers are not qualified in terms of execution. Look at the last 2 matches Rashford has lost his way and his shots on goal are totally weak. Sancho instead became both Fernandes and Rashford who were just as selfish as wanting to score goals from a distance to no avail. I admit Ten Hag is already on the right path for Man United but that doesn't mean forcing young players to continue with ambitions with insufficient capacity. Still, Manchester United does need a striker with 2 capacities, both as an executor and as an assist. Holding the straight draw was not at all enough to prove the real Manchester United.
This is the same team that got scored 4 goals in 35 minutes by Brighton if I am not wrong. He took over the United team that had the lowest points in their history or at least 20-30 years as far as I can remember, and they are 6th right now, they are certainly doing better than expected.

United still missing a lot of players, they really need to get more players, and Varane is missing, and if they bring back Varane, get a good wing back and a striker, this team is a team that could fight for a top spot, at least top 4 to go to UCL, and it's from the worst to best in a single season difference with just a few transfers. I think Ten Hag is doing great, sure there are some mistakes about Ronaldo, he should be playing if you ask me, but aside from that issue, he is great.
625  Economy / Economics / Re: Meta has burned $15 billion trying to build the metaverse on: October 25, 2022, 06:26:33 PM
Quite surprised to see more comments are negative about the technology, but myself I beleive it is really possible but not going to happen in very short time like in 18 months, it will take atleast 5 years to roll out the beta and the development will go on for years. Why Mark started too early is to establish he wants to take the first seat so more profits than back seats but as far as the investors concern towards is understandable but they took the bet so have to accept the outcome as well.
But he is burning billions without a product in sight! Metaverse as we can see it in some promo videos is still far away, and 18 months or 5 years is a pretty long time... he will probably burn even more billions until that point! I don't think that people are negative, it's just reality. For metaverse you will need VR, and how many people have and actively use it?! And do we really need it? How many people are really interested in the metaverse? Do we really need some other reality like the one we can see in some movies?

I guess the metaverse can be interesting, but let's keep it within some limits! We also need to stay humans who need some real touch!
I am guessing that it's not directly cash, most of the time when calculating these type of things they do count things that are not directly money, but worths money, such as man hours, which means if 100 people worked on it for 6 months then you calculate all the cost of those employees at the same time, and that could be calculated into it.

I doubt that it would be 15 billion already, that just doesn't make sense, what could they really spend that 15 billion on, think about it item by item, doesn't really sound like a true price. Maybe they are just showing it as a cost to pay less taxes I don't know. But in the end, if they can achieve it one day, it would be all worth it.

reading the news about aston villa signing uni emery for a big price took me by surprise but i'm sure aston villa would be better off with uni emery than steven gerrard

In the last 12 matches played by Aston Villa, they have only won 3 times, Aston Villa's ambition to be able to raise Aston Villa's ranking in the standings is very large, with Uni Emery dealing with Aston Villa, they will definitely be successful
Look like Gerrard lost support from his players, so they were fail to give positive results and at the end he lost his job now we have Uni Emery who was at Villarreal and doing good job but now from 1st November he could be joining as new Aston Villa coach no doubt about his ability and quality but in his first stint as coach of Arsenal he has done not good in Premier League even he was good in European games and give good success but in Premier League there were issues, so he lost his job.

Aston Villa is surely a different club, and he can do good here, but he needs time because it's now easy for any coach to give his best in middle of the season hopefully he will improve quality and performance which will help them for having better results and Aston Villa could be back in good shape after this bad time.
627  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons you will remain broke as an adult on: October 24, 2022, 05:38:20 PM
When you don't buy coins in the bearish season, and you don't sell your coins when the price is high in the market, it will make you broke as an adult in the community. Now that the price of coins has decreased for investors to buy and hold until the price go higher before they can sell to embrace income to become a great man or woman in the future, but those that will remain broke in the community will never follow the steps of other potential investors to know when they used to buy coins, and when they used to sell to make a huge amount of income from their investment.
I can understand not selling them when they are higher, because you may want to sell it even higher, but not buying when it is low is a big problem. If you buy at 20k right now, and then not sell it when it reaches 100k, then you could sell it when it eventually hits 150k or 200k, that's your own personal preference on when to sell.

However, if you do not buy at 20k at all, then it means you are going to miss out on that chance to make a choice on how much you profit. Not only there are people who don't buy right now, but the shocking thing is there are people who sell right now, and that is beyond understandable for me, how could you sell when it's so cheap and looks potentially so profitable?
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 24, 2022, 04:58:53 PM
Bayern found themselves in new conditions - the transfer market has changed and has risen in price, it is no longer possible to buy the strongest players for little money due to status. It is obvious that Bavaria is not interested in average players, they need the best of the best, but here you have to either pay a lot of money or wait for a "convenient" opportunity. Apparently, the Bavarian management thinks that they have a more or less good squad and there is no point in forcing expensive purchases, so they chose the second option.
It's the best decision from them because right now they not need to spend funds for having any player as their quality is at their best, and they already have players which are doing good job even they were facing some problems in start of this season, but now things are settled, and all players are giving their performance which bring them to second in league table and Champions League results already amazing specially against teams like inter and Barcelona.

There were few rumors they are interested in Harry Kane hopefully this will happen in next summer because suddenly things in Tottenham are not good, and they can face few consequences in future about their coach and players which want to win trophies and right now they are not near this which is surely wired.
629  Economy / Economics / Re: Competition in business on: October 24, 2022, 07:48:03 AM
Generally, competition is very essential in a free market and without competition, there would be monopoly in the production of goods and rendering of services. And when there’s a monopoly, small business and start ups are destined to fail.
In a free market, economy competition is vital for its growth. This keeps price lowers, force companies to improve product quality and services, and fasten innovation. On the other hand, it could destroy local businesses because of the investment of foreign companies. Local small businesses and factories were forced to shut down because of their small resource. Though there are some disadvantages, a free market economy plays a vital role to increase a country's GDP growth.
Well, there are laws in business as well, so not everything is fair in business Cheesy. But the idea is true, if you end up with something that profits you just a bit more, you do that. Like for example if you create a product and put it on sale at amazon, then amazon sees that you sell a lot of it, they can create their own product that could compete with yours, similar thing, and then ban you from selling yours, making them the sole seller of such a product. Is this fair? No, but is this legal? It is.

This is how competition gets screwed, small business gets screwed by the big business, and while you were selling it for 9.99, they took over and banished you and now selling it for 19.99 however they want.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: October 23, 2022, 04:22:01 PM
Manchester United can be able to top the group. It is obviously what they need to do in order to be safe in the league. Barcelona is coming to Europa and Manchester United should try to avoid them. Manchester United defence can prevent Sociedad from scoring but I am not sure Manchester United attackers will get 2 goals easily from Sociedad. Let us see what Ronaldo can do in the match, because he is obviously coming back in the match.
His return to the line-up is far from obvious to me - maybe Ten Hag will decide to punish him further and "show who's in charge here." Or Ronaldo himself will not want to play in the Europa League, I think he is ambitious enough to ignore United already and wait for the World Cup and the winter transfer window.
In addition, if Ten Hag decides that United should take first place, then he can play decisive games with the main squad, where Ronaldo is not currently included. And by the way, judging by United's recent games, I would say that Barcelona should try to avoid meeting it and not vice versa.
They are usually better than the teams they are playing, which means that they can afford to play them on Europa right now, in the league they are playing against very good teams, and it's harder to bring in him, I would say instead of all this trouble, if they kept putting him in at 70th minute or so for like 10 games at the start of the season, that would have given him enough match shape that he would be able to play all game, or you could have put him at start, and bench him at 65,70th minutes so he could rest.

That is a possible thing and would have worked for them. Instead, they are doing it "bench him on EPL, play him on Europa" style, which is weird.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulation really inevitable? on: October 23, 2022, 08:58:30 AM
Yes, indeed, the government wants to control bitcoin, but don't forget that it is not run by one or two people and because of its decentralized nature, the government cannot interfere in the process. Governments may be able to control the exchanges that trade bitcoins but what about decentralized exchanges? The government certainly will not be able to control it.

But the government will not stop trying to control it by making regulations for crypto users and they may be required to fill out forms about the crypto they have on the exchange. But the government will find it difficult to find crypto data outside of the exchange because it is a private right to keep what they own. But again, the government will continue to try to find it and impose taxes on us.
Decentralized exchanges and decentralized finance is the number one enemy of the governments. You still have to find a way to turn your fiat into crypto and your crypto into fiat, so there will always be exchanges that work in that field and working together with the governments via KYC, but aside from that with the improvements of DEX and DeFi, we are really going to end up seeing things get a lot better in the long run for sure.

This will prevent governments from interfering with our money, they have already taken so much and did so little with it, and I believe that we are going to really see regular people like us prosper thanks to this new technology.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 23, 2022, 07:11:19 AM
Influencers/celebrities promoting a gambling platform became a trend nowadays since most of the people now have access on the internet.

Same as trying new product, I would definitely try the gambling game they promote and I guess it's normal to be influenced by the people we idolize. It's also hard to resist the temptation of not trying if those people are showing some good gains.
Honestly, in my country promoting online gambling platform from celebrities and vlogers are very trend as it was some project facilitator pay them to introduce their game. Which is when other people's see that their idols or thierb favorate celebrity promoting that then they will also try. So as I say that many people in my country got influenced in their idols in the internet or in the TV show.
In my country it is illegal, but there are foreign famous people, some even as high as A-List Hollywood people, and that doesn't really matter to me. There are some things that celebrities could influence me with, like I once donated to cancer hospital to be built, the biggest in my nation, and many celebs got together to make both ads on tv, and all shared it on their social media accounts, and we as a nation all donated to it, and that hospital was built, it’s now saving dozens of people per day, it was a great thing.

But when it comes to gambling, I look at the facts, the odds, the house edge, the rewards, the trust rating, those things matter more.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 23, 2022, 06:00:11 AM
There are some new speculations about Manchester United's possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo. It is claimed that they might go for Joao Felix in the same month if Ronaldo leaves the team in January.

Felix hasn't scored a goal in this season yet. He made three assists in five games as a centre-forward so far. But he is still a very young player as he is 22 now. He has a bright future ahead of him but I don't know if he can reach his potential at Atletico Madrid. We should see him playing in the best European league also which is the Premier League. This is an opportunity for him also as a result. However I wonder if this is Erik ten Hag's thinking. Otherwise he can also have problems with him just as Ronaldo is having now.
I have to say he may not be the type of player they need right now. They need a goal scorer, someone who only cares about scoring as much as possible, not a complete forward, not some ball artist who can do flair stuff, they need basically a Haaland/Lewa/Mbappe/Ronaldo type of striker who will look for the goal and that's it.

This is not something available with those names, but could find lower level ones, such as Kane. Kane is not available at this moment but I guarantee you if they paid 100 million to Spurs, they could get him and he could play there for at least 5-6 more years, maybe more and that solves a huge problem they are having right now.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin to be used for micropayments on Twitter? on: October 22, 2022, 09:14:59 PM
after reading this thread i remember yesterday reading in another thread with the title "be careful investing in coins starred by celebrities".
maybe there is little in common and can think of Elon Musk like the richest celebrity in the world.
it could happen when Elon musk implements what he had planned and it is likely that the price of dogecoin will rise again like last year. but am i wrong if i think it will all be a temporary hype like last year? when a tweet on twitter popped up and everyone was chasing dogecoin and the price was pumped after that it was dumped again.
but we will never know what will happen in the year to come and what is certain is that if Elon musk were to do that, it would certainly be a short term hype again
That is a good advice, but not many people are going to listen to that kind of advice and the reason is they legitimately believe they will obtain profits when dogecoin or another meme coin pumps, and when people are in that state in which they are only thinking about the profits they can get then those people are never going to listen to our warnings.

So there is not much we can do except to keep warning them about this and hope that some of them listen to our advice.
That is unfortunately true, and it's their own problem. If they really trust meme projects this much, then they should be investing into it and when they lose money on it, that's their own trouble and has nothing to do with us.

I have personally never invested into doge or any other meme, and I have not made any profits from it neither, but I am fine with not losing any money from it as well. That's the key point, if you are not losing any money at all then you are doing the right thing eventually as well. This doesn't mean that you should never invest into anything just because you could lose, but at least the thing you invest into should have some fundamentally solid reason to go up.

In addition, we have a newer Segwit address type, Taproot.
I have not used it yet and have not seen many platform to use it too. But my guess is sooner this will be widely usable like we do for legacy, segwit and native segwit.
There are wallets that support Taproot Bech32m address type but if we say about exchanges, the support for the address type is very limited. Most of exchanges do neither support Sending to nor Receive Bech32m transactions.

Bech32 adoption has some information about the Bech32m adoption. To be honest, I don't expect to see considerable support for it as well as significant support growth in near future.

It might be adopted faster than Native Segwit Bech32 but the adoption for Bech32m will not increase too fast. At least exchanges have most of fundamentals for Bech32 address type already.
I believe it will get more common in the coming times because of the high transaction costs, which means some casinos will adopt it, and when big names see the other smaller casinos end up getting their customers because of this new addition, they will start adopting it too. That's how it all happens isn't it, all the improvements in big companies happen because some small company does something better, and the big one copies it and sometimes even do it better, meaning there won't be a need left to move away and go to a smaller company.

Certainly the same in the casino world, big names like stake will always cover whatever difference is to keep you here and never have any shortcomings compared to other places for a lengthy period of time.
636  Economy / Gambling / Re: Regulations & Gambling projects on: October 21, 2022, 09:08:04 PM
The huge demand for using a casino without KYC verification and also with permission to enter and normal operation of your account in this casino using a VPN is certainly there and justified.  For example, it is almost impossible to play without these conditions for players from gigantic China, where there are corresponding prohibitions from government agencies.  And I think that for a very long time, most of the casinos will oppose the introduction of KYC and VPN login restrictions.  And I think this is right because many people have a need to gamble while maintaining their anonymity as much as possible.
I do understand the need for people to play without KYC, but I also understand the casinos who ask for it to apply with the regulations as well.

It is not about where the casino is based, you could build a casino in a place where you do not have to ask KYC and that would be fine, however it would also be a trouble for your gamblers to gamble with you in many places of the world, you will have to make sure that you put rules in the ToS stating nearly most of the world can't play with you because you do not ask KYC, which means you are telling people "gamble here at your own risk but no KYC required", which is what casinos do not want to do and want to be accepted in more places.

It's not worthy to compared between Ajaccio vs PSG today because clearly PSG is better than their current opponent but i noticed lately PSG has lost their productivity because they cannot scoring more than 2 goals in the last 4 matches in all competitions and seems the issue about their trio Messi, Neymar and Mbappe has makes three of them has losing passion to working together and today i wish all of players can showed their profesionalsm today and cooperated together because if all of PSG forward line can cooperated i am sure PSG will win with big scores from Ajaccio and for bet options over 2.5 goals seems good and i expect PSG will win with 2 goals margin or more
You're right, from any angle Paris Saint Germain and Ajaccio are on a different level. Paris Saint Germain is the strongest candidate to win the title, while Ajaccio can be said they are in danger of being relegated. Even if it is said that Paris Saint Germain are in a bad phase, they are the favorites to win this game. I have no doubt that they will win today.
I feel like there is no team at PSG level, maybe I am wrong but it does look like that, which means that no team could be competing against PSG but some of them will be lucky enough to beat them. Look at the previous years, PSG won almost every year, aside from just one season, and each of these years they lost to some times, each year they had a few loss, and that usually means even though they are better than everyone, they will have games that are unexpectedly a loss from some lower level team.

We never know which team it will be, sometimes it's close enough teams, sometimes lower level teams, we have no idea who it will be, we just assume "eventually" it will happen.

Aston Villa are not doing so well at the moment but they did well last season, I expected they will kick start the season on that form but they have been a little sluggish this season. Stephen Gerrard is a good coach and I believe with team they will get back to form again. Pochettino to Aston Villa is still a rumour as there are yet no news about a potential sack plan for Stephen Gerrard so until we get concrete talks we have to stay put and see what happens in the coming months.
Here Aston Villa management is going to do a mistake which is surely not going to help because now Steven Gerrard is doing good job under these circumstances which are surely not favourable for any coach quality is not good enough but still they are at better spot and can go up in coming weeks, but surely they need to work on some transfers which will help to increase quality and bring better results which are important.

Aston Villa spot is surely down instead of last week, but they already sell their few good players and right now having not good replacements which are surely hurting them here if they want to do something then surely they need to bring few new faces in coming transfer window for better results.
They do not have the money to make more transfers, but the good part is, if you end up at a spot that is beyond what people expected from you that means you are going to get paid more than what you expected as well, which will result with them getting more players next season and they could use those players to finish better and better and keep repeating that constantly.

Unfortunately, football became something of a "rich owners make teams win" type of sport, and that means unless Aston Villa is sold to some rich owner, then we are not going to end up seeing them win anything, but they could at least try to keep overachieving each season they play and Gerrard could help them with it.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: October 20, 2022, 06:01:51 PM
the number of star players is not a guarantee that a team can achieve good results, the PSG team is currently still very behind from several other European teams such as Real Madrid or Manchester City, so it's only natural that PSG are not candidates for the UCL title this season. this, it's all seen from the games they've been through this season.
Among the title favourites, I think PSG is one of them. Manchester City will probably be the first team favourite, then PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and so on. But it's just about some opinions which in the end will not determine the outcome of the match they play. I think PSG deserve to be favourites, but they also don't seem very ready to go to the final easily.
I do believe that City and PSG are the two biggest candidates, they are teams designed to win this cup, they are already good at their league already and won it so many times, they don't really care about the league as much anymore, if they can win it that’s great but if they don't then as long as they win UCL that’s fine. Which is why we are going to see both of these clubs do their best to win it all.

Real and Bayern are goo because they have done it before and have the experience, but PSG and City are built for it, and that matters a lot when the time comes. I hope one of them finally wins it and could relax and we can see them play however they want.
640  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for October on: October 20, 2022, 11:04:00 AM
So if the market really has more noobs and more people hoping for another drop...  Does that mean you think that there are more chances for BTC of starting to trend up than continue trending down from here on out?  Have we really now hit the bottom?

If so, how confident are you that BTC is now at the bottom?  Say around 70% confident that BTC is at the bottom?

Anyway, I think I know my next poll for November if BTC still stays in a tight range.
I am feeling 100% confident that bitcoin hit the bottom already, even if it goes any lower, it will not hit any lower than the bottom we already hit. I think it was somewhere close to 17.5k if I am not wrong, the past 2 years bottom give or take since the bull run started, and the lowest we reached during the bear market. That was so low, and I doubt we would ever reach that again.

This is why I am feeling like we are not going to really see anything that is going to really change much, and why I am buying as much as I can afford, since I trust it to do a lot better, I am not sure how it will happen, or when, but I am sure it will eventually happen one day.
