I think there is a bit of difference based on having just 2 games to survive versus having a whole season. If you put all 32 teams in the group stages of UCL, and make them play with each other twice, which would be 64 games, then you will see that PSG may end up at the top.

Because, they could have a few loss but the overall would be good. But when you tell them to either win or go home, they may not be that great. Look at last year, they almost won and then in span if 2 minutes they lost. This is why it is very hard in a tournament structure and not so hard in a league structure.
