621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Luck and skill, which is more important for gambling success? on: November 14, 2023, 03:43:17 PM
I have the believe that success in gambling requires a mixture of luck and skill. This is opposed to some people that believe that gambling is entirely a game of luck and others who believe it is entirely a game of skill.

So I am tempted to inquire if skill is all that is needed to be successful in gambling or luck. Whichever be the option, which of them is the most important factor for gambling success?

Gambling is 99% luck and the remaining 1% is base on skills. If our skills is what gives us win, most of us might not win anything because many don't even have the skills at all, all they have been doing is try their luck which some do have a good result while the rest have lost all the time.

In casino, skills is what you even need to win because the game is a program that you want to see it in your favour but you can't do that in sports. Look at how the game of Manchester City against Chelsea turn out, the fact that Chelsea hosted the match is going to be an advantage for them but nobody expects them to react that way to equalized all the goals Manchester City, now imagine you have given straight win to Manchester City because they have been having winning streak on their previous matches whole Chelsea has been having less contributions in standing but they ended up as a draw.

In a casino game, you can depend on your skills and if you are lucky enough, you can make cook money but it's not guarantee though but sports, most of the time it's all about luck and luck. However, you have to be good in sport analysis before you can achieved a lot.

I do support this decision. Real madrid needs to find ancellotti's successor after ancellotti has agreed to join in the brazil national team. Xabi is the best once who can be lined up along with zidane which was giving back to back UCL champion three times in a row.
15 - 18 millions are easy for madrid. The only problem is whether xabi will agree with such offer as he is still having long term contract in leverkusen. Madrid needs to pay a lot to the leverkusen to get him.

That price was nothing compared with a coach with full experiences in the football. We must try to remember xabi has played under several world class coaches during his career.
He is a hidden gem.

I'm very familiar with all this games. People are always trying hard to dishonor Anceloti performance and work in Real Madrid and that's why they are kin on pushing Xabi in the job. I remember very well from Fabrizio Romano asking him if he still plan on leaving Real Madrid but he said he doesn't want to leave such a prestigious club for now, there is no plan for that anytime soon. If there is, we will be seeing some early signs of him with less performance but he doesn't give nor take, he brought Bellingham to improve his gallery for the club.

I know he is aging which is natural cause and a time will come for him to leave the club but I feel this pressures of having successor is unnecessary. If he leave today, many of other qualified coaches will line up that will even be better than Xavi many suggesting to take over the club, let's leave the man do his job perhaps it's another season to win back another Laliga and Champions League.

Chelsea often plays well against big teams, where they managed to draw against Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City, and managed to win against Tottenham. However, I think their performance has not been consistent so far, because they often lose points when playing against teams they should be able to beat. This is a task that Pochettino must immediately address because it is the only way for Chelsea to get back on its feet.

I'm have forgiven Chelsea for having loss consistently because yesterday game was very long since I have watch something like that from the blues. It's not about having draw with Manchester City, it's about how serious they were hitting back and putting pressure on Manchester City, even when they were conceding, they regained back on the lane so fast in equalizing every goals, I'm not sure if Manchester City has even face a tough opponent in home match like Chelsea this season.

What is expected from Pochettino as from now is nothing but anything more than yesterday performance, imagine if they have been pulling goals like this, lord knows where they will have been by now in the standing. They have bear Tottenham with advantage of red cards, beat Arsenal on natural ground to equalized and lastly beat Manchester, then the rest of the team should be a holiday to move up in ranking.

Yes, Chelsea can get that if they succeed in maintaining a positive trend in the last few matches because if they lose control of it, it will definitely be difficult for Chelsea to break into the top 4 positions. Their mentality was tested in the match against Manchester City and even though it ended in a draw, when there is a team that can match Manchester City's best performance then that team deserves a plus point. I had doubts about the young squad that Chelsea has built, but when these young players are in the right hands, I think Chelsea can do better in the future. Pochettino is the right coach to do this job and if he succeeds in helping Chelsea get a place in one of the European competitions then Todd Boehly will definitely extend his contract.

Let's hope they don't behave as usual because when a team received too much love from fans, they misbehave so much but if indeed what they played yesterday was really effort of Pochettino and the players, I doubt if there is need for more midfielders he is always complaining about, he should utilize these players till January, he will see a reason not to sign any players again and will do better before that transfer period.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 13, 2023, 05:51:38 PM
Your parents are very rich and they have made a will while they are still alive Your parent is disinheriting you on the ground on one of the laws in our country about disinheritance that
Quote
When a child or descendant leads a dishonorable or disgraceful life;
because of gambling but they have not proven that you are a chronic gambler and you think you are a responsible gambler.

Do you have a case here on the ground that it is not proven that you are a chronic gambler and have not lost a fortune in gambling, can you appeal this case in court to make the will invalid and get your part in the inheritance?

No real parent will want to disown their own child because they have curiosity of their child been a gambler, an evidence must be provided before they make such kind of decision. Except maybe they feel that the child is not theirs and they are looking for alternative to run away from him and his responsibility, poor child.  Cry

Quote
Here in our country, you cannot disinherit your heirs as long as the heir does not violate what's stated in the law about inheritance and they just used the quoted message as their ground.

What's your take on this and what do your country's laws say about this?

I'm not too sure about inheritance law, but if your parent doesn't want to give you their shares of wealth, I'm not sure if you have an obligation to sue them about that. It's something parent do for love, if they decide to give everything to charity, you can't do anything about it. However, it will be cruel thing for a parent to neglect their child without having anything to hold onto.

If I'm a gambler and my parents are not happy about my gambling lifestyle, I will retrieve from it for a while, even if not for anything, I will seize from it because of that share of wealth. You parent cannot be filty rich and you decide to disobey them because of gambling that you might even make nothing from at the end of the day.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler's family action. on: November 13, 2023, 05:16:01 PM
She told about how the family members of a particular young man that is like a plunger when it comes to gambling, his compulsive gambling is to the length of him selling his personal properties and gadgets to make sure he gambles. So what he family did was to print a photograph of him and giving it to all the gambling shops within their neighborhood and around the locality, threatening that any of the gambling shops they have pasted the photo of their brother should they find their brother allowed to gamble in the shops they will sue the gamble shop owner to court as one that is abetting their brother's compulsive gambling lifestyle.

They don't have that right to sue the gambling shops, the guy in particular is above 18 and in law, as long as you are above 18 years old, you have a free will to take a decision and nobody will question you for that action if it's not a stolen money he use but even in the case where he used a stolen funds, he is the one they can sue for such action but if the brother is minor, it's very wrong for the shops to let him play in the first place.

Quote

Just two questions here:
1. Dis the family of this young man went too extreme in trying to help stop their brother from gambling addiction or not?

That is not the best way to abstain a grown up man for addiction, it will be very wrong for the community to even see his pictures everywhere like an ex convict, you will not be happy if you see your family disgracing you in that manner because you love gambling so much. They should have take him to see a therapist instead.

Quote
2. Assuming you are this young man and you had to run to a distant location to carry out your gambling as you are allowed to gambling within your neighborhood and luckily you won huge sum of million dollars. Would you share that money with your loved ones who were barring you from gambling or you will just stay off from them and live new found wealthy live alone?

Share your thoughts!

Well, it depends but I know for sure that people don't reject money. Family is blood and blood is family, no matter how they wrong me, I will still help them because I can't see them in bad condition while I enjoy money in one location, sure I will be happy to help if I can do it.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: November 13, 2023, 05:06:27 PM

Hi guys, coming through with a rather odd question this morning.

So, i was looking up on Wikipedia the meaning of Money Laundering , and below is a quote of how the site defined the term "Money Laundering"

Quote
Money laundering is the process of illegally concealing the origin of money, obtained from illicit activities such as drug trafficking, corruption, embezzlement or gambling, by converting it into a legitimate source. It is a crime in many jurisdictions with varying definitions. It is usually a key operation of organized crime.

So, after i saw that Gambling was mentioned or listed among the listed illicit activities through which money can or could be laundered, I can't help but wonder if gambling is actually an illicit activity.

Wikipedia did not mention gambling being an illicit activity in their definition of gambling here, why then did they mention gambling as one of illicit activity through which money laundering can be carried out?

Please check this out and share your thoughts.

Money laundering can happen anywhere, it can happen through club business, it can happen through groceries shop, it can happen through any legit business that have large volume of sales and trust me, nobody is going to know anything. It's like when you sell 4 bottles of Hennessey and in your record, you put 6 and then you increase the number of supply that was brought to you during uffload of goods to your shop. Gambling is just a means to launder money and it's only illicit when they find anyone guilty of such crime.

Do you even know that gambling platforms have a way of trapping money laundering? They know that it does happen and they know for certain that people will abuse it and that's why they have this rule that you must first make initial bets from your deposit before you can withdraw it. If you don't bet the money, you can't withdraw it, it's in their policy and you can't sue to them for that, you need to make atleast a wager first and that trap is enough to lose everything back to the casino.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: November 12, 2023, 01:59:32 PM
Manchester United are continuing to face defensive problems. They are still lacking some important players at the back. Martinez's injury is still going on and Casemiro is also injured now. In addition to these injuries Evans has also got injured new. They have Varane back at least but he is also showing an inconsistent performance lately.

Considering this situation Manchester United's job will be tougher than ever about the aim of reaching last 16 round. I'm saying it even though the point difference with Copenhagen and Galatasaray is 1 now.

They will need to make up for that weakness with their attacking power. However Rashford got a red car in the last match here. Hojlund's effort would be critical.

Manchester United is not going anywhere past the group stage and if they narrowly escape this group stage, they will crash in the knockout stage. Do you know there problem, they conceded a lot of goals. Check their last 5 matches, they have conceded more than 9 matches and have conceded 11 goals in 4 games in the Champions League, a team that want to go far in a league will not only score but also reduce the rate of goals they conceded and how do they achieve that? ETH don't know how to stabilize his team, and they yield easily to simple pressure as a result of bad defensive system.

How is ETH will be moving forward without his favorite striker Rashford, it's crystal clear that the rest of the matches is going to be for entertainment than to have good result because how are they going to win Galatasaray in an away match and still win Bayern in home match, it will be impossible but nothing is impossible, winning that two matches is going to be 6 point and if Galatasaray and Copenhagen fumble, they might have a chance to go but I'm not sure what happened after the group stage.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 12, 2023, 01:30:02 PM
Arsenal won against out-of-form Burnley to take all three points in the title race. Arsenal, who suffered their first defeat in the league last week to Newcastle United, won with little difficulty against Burnley this week and maintained their claim in the race for the league title.
Everton, who started badly in the league, have started to recover in recent weeks. Everton, who has managed to move away from the relegation pot with the points they have received in recent weeks, has already started to throw itself towards the middle ranks by winning away against Crystal Palace in a tough match.
Arsenal securing the three points is what really matter as I believe there's always a possibility for a big team to lose to even the most poorest of form team in the English premier league. And the loss that they suffered didn't affect them and thats a good recover because Tottenham on the other hand has failed to recover from the loss that they suffered in the hands of Chelsea.

If Liverpool and Manchester City play their matches today and win which is even likely, Arsenal faith is going to change again, they will come third for sure but it depends on how many goals Liverpool score and concede in their next match with Brentford. I'm happy that Tottenham is getting some slice of loss, they made everyone think they could do without Kane even when man is doing well and dominating Bundesliga, the team loss Van De Ven and Madison to injury, things have never been the same.

These two men were the back bone of Tottenham and look how sluggish and shameless wolves defeated them in extra minutes. 2 goals in extra minutes is something to be shameful about, they couldn't stanlize wolves pressure for 8 6 minutes, they let got serve seriously.

It seems to me that everything will remain unchanged here. once again Mancity will be the winner of the trophy.
Manchester City are not standing still, this is evident from their results and play. And Arsenal's last match with Westham shocked and displeased me.
Tottenham is a worthy opponent for Mancity and here we need to thoroughly analyze everything in order to make loud statements.

Don't you think Premier League will not be palatable to watch if Manchester City continue to have that trophy. Even when they are yet to fall out of form, u still have some hopes in Liverpool and Arsenal to agitate for the Premier League, at least let's have some surprises from other teams too to win the trophy. It will increase the competition and hope for players that are always in relegation zone.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 12, 2023, 01:14:56 PM
One surprised me about the game and all the goals was that Bellingham wasnt there, but he is injured so they didnt want to take the risk of it getting worse. He is first in La Liga with 10 goals in 11 games, which is twice as good as the second player in the Real Madrid team. Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo both scored 2 goals against Valencia and they havent scored togehter so many goals than Bellingham. Rodrygo 3 goals in 13 games and Vinicius Junior 4 goals in 10 games. So Girona are still on first place, I think that will change on matchday 16 when they play vs Barcelona.

Bellingham wasn't the only key player that was absent in that match, Rudiger was absent, Bellingham was with his mom in corner of the stadium all smiling, Tchouameni and Militao and in all of these players, they are spectacular players to Real Madrid, even when Bellingham wasn't present in the yesterday match against Valencia, he was making good comment about him. I hope to see him back to the team very soon because he is the least among them with a minor injury and I don't want to see him back down from that highest goal scorer honor be hijack by another player.

Girona is still not any sign of weakness and I'm not sure if they were the teams I use to watch, they have only lost to Real Madrid and since then, not a single loss and we are now in week 13 of the season. It seems they will last long in the top 4 but let's see how they play against Atletic club. Those guys are in good form and I don't think they are going to entertain Girona even though they are visitors to Estadi Municipal.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 12, 2023, 12:37:05 PM
I'm making this poll to see what form of payment is the most preferred by people here. Given that gambling is a popular and practical use of bitcoin, I'm interested to see what percentage of people still have it as their preferred funding method and perhaps for what reasons.

Seeing how bitcoin's fees have gone up a lot, I would assume that with the plethora of options for cheaper transactions, people must be using other options much more. Some might even prefer to use conventional means such a debit or credit cards.

Whatever your preference is, feel free to express why that is and also answer the poll (optionally). It's for research purposes only. Cheesy

Each option has its own advantage and disadvantages. I will share my opinion on the three and my preferred type.
Bitcoin is of course, is one of the best type of ways to fund betting platforms, I like it because it's easy to have more bitcoin, and times like this, it will sweat to leave your money in bitcoin because it's seems the market is gaining some momentum. If you have $20 for instance, when bitcoin moves up, u will certainly make more dollars and you don't need to worry about any KYC of sort and fair privacy to some extent. Though, it's difficult to make deposit now through bitcoin because of the fees is discouraging.

Fiat is also good but you don't have any privacy, when you transfer, the banks know the destination of your deposit and withdrawals but the fees are less significant. Another red flag of fait platforms is KYC is a most, you have to do it because of regulations. However, somehow I don't know how sporty don't ask for KYC, they asked for email and mobile number and you are good to go to and you can withdraw your fiat at any time without KYC but your name must match the destination account number you are making withdrawals too, I'm not sure maybe it was because they are license in the country.

Bitcoin is to the best especially for outside casino but the fee is not friendly right now. Using $20 as fee for deposit and more for withdrawal will be insane for me to do but alternatively, I may use USDT tron to avoid fees if there is urgent need for deposit.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do Owners of betting companies bet? on: November 12, 2023, 12:08:23 PM
Do owners of betting companies place bet on their own platform or is there a policy specific policy that restricts them from betting. Do you think that there would be conflict of interest or that it will be unethical if owners bet on their own platforms. These are the questions that I am seeking an answer to.

When you run the affairs of a betting company, what you are after is the revenue maximization and payout minimization. You have no business in playing because it's not like trading that you might have first hand information that you might want to buy before outsiders have access to. Gambling is gambling, whether you work with the company or you are an outsider, if the betting platform is probably fair to everyone, the result is going to be the same.

But who knows, may be the owner might want to try out what he sell to the public, maybe when they are bored and watch sports, they might want to play and catch fun, just for the fun and the money wager will not be something big because I don't think they will ever expect something from it. Instead of losing to the company, why not allow the company win from the outside customers to have more external generated revenue.

Although, for physical based casino where an individual from the company will be needed to play against outsiders. Like the blackjack and many other casino games that need multiolayer before they can enjoy the game. This is where a super active gambler is needed to play against an outside.
633  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 09, 2023, 01:29:28 PM
I want to know about the cost of living and average income in each country. Can I ask that here?

For comparison, may I ask how much a standard meal in your country costs for one meal? what is the standard food menu? What is the average monthly and annual income in your country? Please those who answer can use calculations in USD

Note: I don't need the tables issued by the government because they are usually different from the reality on the ground

This question doesn't have basis nor direction. It's a plain question that is supposed to have a specificity because I don't understand how you want to know cost of living in a country when you know that there would be many answers because we have urban areas and rural areas. Even urban areas cost of living different and if you are been given wrong information, you can assumed that it's the truth but meanwhile, it's the wrong information.

Let me give you some instances: In nigeria, we have big cities like Lagos, Portharcourt, Abuja, this cities are the kind of place you will find everything, social life is there, Real Estate development and many more but do you know that we have more big cities like the ones I made mention? The problem with the other one might be challenging due to difference in religion, places like Kano is a big city but you can't socialize like that in Kano because of their believe and cost of living is different despite they are all big cities in Nigeria. We have other big cities I didn't mention and you cannot compare the cost of living in these areas because of differences in ethnicity, security and many more.
634  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips to Follow traders/scalpers (who use Stop Loss) on: November 09, 2023, 01:02:03 PM
Hi do you know any good traders/scalpers (who use Stop Loss) to follow either in any copytrading platform or signal providers etc?

There are very good traders in bitget, bingx but they dont use stop loss..I would prefer to follow traders/signals providers
who use stop loss

You will have plenty of recommendations but I kid you not, that will not do you any good because you will not go far in trading. The reason is this: traders have different views and opinions on the market, how trader A will want to make his trade will be different from how trader B will want to make his own and even you that you are trying to follow a particular trader that gives signal will probably have a another opinion too. When you copy a signal of a trade and along the line, the trader change his views, they might not share it with you leaving you in darkness and loss.

I have noticed another criminal things signal groups do most of the time, they can share you signals all your time with them but a day will come that they will share you pump and dump scheme that if you are not smart about it, you might fall for it. What they do is, they tell you to buy a particular coin or token in an X time and before then, they will have stashed their bags with that coin and as soon as you all buy the coin, they secretly dump it and move on leaving you guys with garbage tokens.

You might not learn something good about trading when you rely on signals when you are supposed to be learning it by yourself. The traders you want to follow-up are not magians, they used their time to learn, understand the market and trading and they are enjoying the benefits of it, you also need to do the same as I have seen you understand what stop loss is about.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not, we expect bullish trend on: November 09, 2023, 12:45:28 PM

A crypto investor, Crypto Tony, believes that since the market is often controlled by large investors, market conditions can change at any time. A temporary increase in the price of Bitcoin may be a strategy used to increase liquidity in the market. That is why he wanted to know the opinion of his followers on the X twitter platform for the purpose of investors.

Tony thinks people are blindly investing because Bitcoin ETFs will be approved, what if it isn't? Some disagreed with his statement, saying they felt the SEC was too late to approve Bitcoin ETFs, and that is why they would approve the ETFs. Crypto Simon, a famous trader who agree with Tony, shares the same view that if ETFs are not approved, there could be a big fall in cryptocurrencies, which he believes everyone should be prepared in advance.

The earlier we realized that influencers or investors opinion doesn't have power to do anything about bitcoin moves, the better for everyone. Everyone knows what is happening behind the scene of Bitcoin and the rich men behind spot ETF, they are strong people that uphold so many wealth like Microsoft and apple shares but l have never for think for once they are the key to.the next bull run, they can be influencing to bitcoin since they control the traditional market but I don't believe them when they say anything good about bitcoin, that was how Elon was pushing it the last time only to come and exit payment in Tesla after selling his sats on the low.

For the influencers that are already pushing the narrative of bitcoin will do this and that, better lower your expectations because we might not really make big moves like we did in the past but rest assured that bitcoin will make some moves but making it as if it's a guarantee is very misleading. Remember that we had lot large investors and institutionals that are waiting for it to reach a certain price so they can offload. We might a not even see big moves that much but perhaps after the halving after the fake pump.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Simple Yet Powerful Message That Will Always Hold True on: November 08, 2023, 10:16:26 AM
I respect your warning but for many its other side of this story, altcoins have bring good ROI for them than Bitcoin will ever bring, many people don't even know when to buy, that's the problem, they fomo into altcoins and they get dumped on.

With Bitcoin you can start buying any time if we are in a bear market, with altcoins you can't do the same, you need to make sure that you get in early and watch the chart closely,  it's good to always have Bitcoin in your portfolio but altcoins will always bring you good amount than Bitcoin, the bad side of altcoins is too many scam projects but if you know how to find those gems you will still be in profits.

Bitcoin is safer and altcoins expose you to more risks, I have lost money in altcoins like OP said but I have made more with altcoins than my Bitcoin, few that I bought this year have done over 1000% gains already, one of these alts is injective protocol, if you have your doubts you can do your research, another is Solana, the so called shit coin that everyone thought it won't survive because FTX had a lot and dumped a lot too.

If you know how to calculate your risks very well altcoins are not completely bad like some are saying, in fact it's better than gambling with money in a casino, all you need to do is make sure the project is very good and still very early. Right now my altcoin bags is looking better than my Bitcoin bag, though both are in good shape as we speak.

This is having some atom of dishonesty in my opinion. Is there any Altcoin in the history of cryptocurrency that has given an ROI like Bitcoin? Google search the profit of Bitcoin from the day it was listed as compared to other altcoins, and they don't come near, even Ethereum does have half the return of what Bitcoin has printed if you do the maths from the first day it was listed on exchanges. The only problem is that Bitcoin has grown rapidly because the market cap alone is enough to give us more than 100 altcoins if we are to share the Bitcoin market cap with other altcoins that are top 100.

I am not sure if the survey result will be the same but if you ask around about how people have lost money to crypto, they will tell you that more than 80% of people lost money into altcoins than they did in Bitcoin. Fact check the bear market that we just had, altcoin is the reason why we are here today, and Terra Luna and Solana collapse is the reason why billions of dollars were wiped off the market. Not for one day you will hear that people panic and sold everything because Bitcoin had issues, it's always altcoins bullshit that brings fear, doubt and uncertainty.
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Never say your recovery seed or private key out loud! on: November 08, 2023, 09:57:22 AM
Never store your private key in any centralized or decentralized online data storage, none can be 100% trusted but the most salient part of this post is to bring our minds into this topic especially why it is important for you never to say your recovery seed or private key aloud because spy devices could be planted near you and will steal your information ASAP. Trust me when I say this isn't a satire as it is possible for Bezos to pick your private keys by using Alexa to record your keys, lols.

Realize that self-serving voice activated services or microphone database such as Alexa and Siri amongst others can log everything and once someone is able to penetrate or hack into Amazon or Apple, your information could be shared into the Dark web or on Clearnet.

Not just that, there are other ways in which you can expose your private keys and seed phrase online. Using a wallet in an online device is a practice that should be discouraged because it is the fundamental that brings all these ways of exposing keys and seed phrase. You can expose your private keys and seed by downloading the wrong applications and malware, you can even download the wrong keyboard on your devices and when you have a wallet installed in it, the chances of becoming a victim will be high.

Quote
So it is very important never to say your recovery seed out loud since you just can't figure out in this age, who's listening or watching you whilst you're alone in your bedroom with your gadgets. Don't mention your recovery seed in a phone conversation with a friend or family,  even when you're calling through end-to-end encrypted applications such as WhatsApp.

Your gadgets could be the spy agents too.

Lastly, whenever you work on your recovery seed, put your mobile phones in another room, put a tape over your webcams as an added security measures and never do anything with your Bitcoin in a public space like McDonald's or Chicken Republic that is full of listening devices. Don't be carried away.

What you don't know will kill you slowly without knowing where it's coming from, the best way to avoid this is to never use a wallet that's connected online, this is what most centralized exchanges do all the time, it's better to buy and used a hardware wallet or an air gap device to manage your seed phrase, private keys and sign transactions. There is no amount of peace that comes with when you do the right thing than taking a cure while doing the wrong thing.

If you value your privacy, it's even better to use a hardware wallet than a coin that is coming from a centralized exchange because these days, the bitcoins are KYC and that is detrimental to your privacy, anyone can spy on what you do and how you spend your coins.

We often advise newcomers asking about successful Bitcoin investment strategies to have a well-structured plan and stick to it no matter what. Nevertheless if there is anything I have learned is that in bitcoin investment it  is rarely a linear journey. And despite our best intentions and meticulous planning, unforeseen circumstances can disrupt our initial plans. For the community I want to know, has your investment plan always unfolded as expected or have unexpected events caused you to pause or modify your plan? Despite our best efforts there are instances where sticking rigorously to a plan becomes challenging due to the unpredictable nature of life.

I think making a plan for an unrealized profit is a bad thing to do, you can only plan for what is already cashout and not what is still in the air doing zeros and one through its protocol. As some colleagues have laid out, don't invest in bitcoin with the money you cannot afford to lose, money you don't have plans. It is unreal to say there is money you can say you can afford to lose but its best done this way so that your expectation will not go beyond the normal line because when you do and things don't fall out as expected, you might not like seeing the view of bitcoin.

About the plan, there is no alternative to it, the goal still remains the same. I'm glad to see that $20 is now a thing of the past but I know a time will come when everyone will be saying they wish they had bought bitcoin at $20k or below because it is going to be like buying Bitcoin at $1k some years ago. Speculations aside, the adoption is another thing that gives me a vote of confidence, see Blackrock and the rest all want to have Bitcoin ETF, it might be the best as being a decentralized asset but anything for adoption is welcome in my own opinion.

1. In the past Bitcoin bear market, how many black swan event happened at the time?

2. I did my own research and black swan event started in 2020 and it's also in the chart history, I could be wrong but correct me if I am, but the black swan event happens cos of COVID in 2020, what makes you believe that another will happen?

3. What if the Black Swan event of this present bear market was the FTX Collapse?

What if the first one ( 2020 crash ) was an unexpected crash to manipulate the masses and the Second one is to make people keep waiting and waiting for something that's not coming until it's too late?

FTX collapse will cost him a maximum of 100 years, I don't think it a coincidence to stage such a stupid move just to hurt people, remember he has been lobbying politicians because of his political ambition and because of that his flat girlfriend, they destroy many homes and dreams, I'm not sure if FTX was planned in the first place and the debts surrounding them blow everything, some people wanted to gain from the collapse and that's why an insider leaked the financial status of the exchange, you remembered that so many funds were moved through back door, some people believe it was Sam and some people think it was part of the team that wanted to get a share of the pyramid scheme.

I can say that COVID was a mechanical virus, it was engineered to destroy things because the source was from China when investigations were carried out and what it destroyed the most, was the traditional market, almost every stock in the market was down to zero and bitcoin been an alternative to them crashed as well out of fear because people need food and health during that time, when there is war, drought and health concerns, investments doesn't matter those times.

Bitcoin is maturing as we digress over the future, we don't know what tomorrow pregnant but I can say with confidence that such things might be difficult to see around again and that is why I'm skeptical about how this year bull run will grow like the past ROI we have seen, I'm of the opinion people should expect less from the next bull run. 3X max is what I think might happen.  Smiley
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investment, Beyond "Invest What You Can Afford to Lose" on: November 08, 2023, 06:01:45 AM
The phrase "invest what you can afford to lose" has long been the go to advice when it comes to Bitcoin investments. In the past, it seemed to be a norm, a safety net, but it's time to reconsider its relevance. Over the years, Bitcoin investment has undergone a significant transformation. What was once a realm fraught with doubts, fears of capital loss, and scam risks has evolved into a more stable and less volatile investment landscape.

While risks and scams still exist, Bitcoin itself has proven its worth, emerging as the premier cryptocurrency, demonstrating its dominance over others. The short-term fluctuations are there, but historical data consistently indicates growth over time. So, why should we continue to echo the sentiment of "invest what you can afford to lose" when referring to Bitcoin? I believe this phrase is more suited to gambling or trading, which we all know come with inherent risks.

Invest in what you can afford to lose is just a way of telling you to invest an amount you are sure you don't need anytime soon, it's not like you are investing an amount to be forgotten but putting an amount you know you will not need anytime to soon is the best way to go. Oftentimes without numbers, we have heard, read and reported cases of people selling their belongings to buy Bitcoin, taking loans to finance their investment into Bitcoin and the times they do this is when there is euphoria in the market, they get excited by the gree candles and pour everything and expect the result of someone that has been holding for 5 years, and when bitcoin makes a correction, they make an unrealized loss. Now, with this tragedy how do you think they are going to get back their money to repay the loans they took to invest in Bitcoin? I hope you have seen a bigger picture of why they say to "invest in only the amount you can afford to lose"

For those looking to HODL Bitcoin for the long term, with no intentions of actively trading, the focus should shift. Instead of investing what you can afford to lose, consider investing what you have to invest. Unlike other traditional investments like real estate or the stock market, Bitcoin allows entry with even a small capital  as low as $5 to $10, which isn't something I will even want to lose.such an investment should not fall under the category of what you can afford to lose.

Investing in Bitcoin means being part of one of the world's most revolutionary technologies. It's not just an investment in today but potentially one of the most valuable assets in the future. So, instead of wasting time and money on 'shitcoins', consider starting now it's not too late. The focus should be on investing what you are willing to HODL for the long run, rather than what you can afford to lose.

You need to know something but first let me ask you. If you are blessed with a million dollars today, can you risk it all and invest everything in Bitcoin? I doubt but if it's another person, he will do it without shaking; that's the amount the person can afford to lose but you can't do that because that amount is too precious for you to invest everything in Bitcoin when you have other primary problems to solve, amount to invest is subjective to individual pockets.

Whether you pick dollar cost average or buy at a spot, you still have to think before doing that, you need to decide if the amount you are using to buy is riskable from your financial status so that tomorrow, you don't wake up and be having doubts about your bold decision to buy Bitcoin.
