621  Economy / Economics / Re: How stable will bitcoin be? on: December 10, 2016, 04:02:35 AM
It seems to me that the Bitcoin can not be stable. After all, it is based on supply and demand. And it is very unstable quantity. Fluctuations in the price of Bitcoin is its normal state

Bitcoin's price may fluctuate, but you have to see how much it fluctuates. If the fluctuation is less than say + or -1% a day, I would say that its price has stabilized. The problem right now is the Bitcoin's volatility is higher than most asset classes.

Tomorrow India will hardly level the score and then will remain 2 days game. I began to be convinced that this match is approaching to draw and is not bad to place a bet of small amount @3.10 at draw at this point. England scored very well which is going to help them to drive this game towards draw as India's position is very solid right now.

I would still bank on this match producing a result. India seems to be batting well, but the pitch seems to be deteriorating. If England can get a few early wickets, they can win this match.

Australia are already looking good at 0/62 in the 12th over and if Finch and Warner can make a 100+ runs opening stand then I think Australia will be looking at making 330+ runs and maybe even 350+ runs which would be a tough total to chase down as Australia's strike bowling attack is one of the best in the world. It's been great to watch so far and I hope it continues.

Australia has scored 378 runs in 50 overs with five wickets loss. It was a excellent batting from all top Australian batsman. Pitch looks like supporting batsman now need to see how NZ will chase this big score? If NZ gets a good start and couple of good partnership, they can still try to win this match.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to field.  Roll Eyes
I think Australia have scored enough and have the series in the bag. It would be very difficult for New Zealand to overcome this mammoth total. I think poor captaincy has cost New Zealand this match - wrong decision at the toss and too defensive in the field.
Australia just won the match against New Zealand defeating them by 116 runs ,Aussies made use of the small ground and batted like it was a 20 over match in which they nailed 12 sixes in the Australian innings alone and taking the total to 18 sixes in the entire match. Bowlers had no chance as even a miss hit would be a six these days

Pretty comprehensive victory for Australia. They have come back strongly after the whitewash from South Africa in the ODI series. This match was set up once they had a huge total on the board. It indeed is a small ground, but posting 378 is no joke.
624  Economy / Speculation / Re: The adoption boom is coming on: December 06, 2016, 08:09:47 AM
Eh, I'll believe it when I see it.  I do think something along these lines is coming, but none of us knows when or to what extent adoption is going to rise.  Having hope and really bullish thoughts doesn't really help anyone, and that sort of thing can be detrimental to your wallet.

People need a real reason to use bitcoin over fiat, and so far I haven't seen really compelling reasons.  That's heresy, I know, but to me bitcoin works much better as an investment tool and store of value than as a currency to be adopted for spending.  But we'll see.
I think adoption booming will still happen, that's why Op mentioned how.
People will interested with bitcoin, the reason should be on merchants/shops accepted bitcoin as has been done in some places like recently in France. Bitcoin community in every country could make it happen with some innovations, but we'll see.
I really think that this boom has already begun.
You can buy lots of digital goods with bitcoin as a payment. Of course, bitcoin is not going to rule the world of payment systems.
But I think it is going to be a worthy oponent for paypal or bank wire.
Sure, that is not going to happen over night, but I think we will all live to see that happen.

It is tough to see Bitcoin being a worthy competitor to paypal or any of the payment networks, unless we have the ability to scale up. The block size restriction is going to be an albatross around Bitcoin's neck. Once that is sorted out, the real potential of Bitcoin will become visible.
625  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin has power nowadays ? on: December 06, 2016, 08:06:57 AM
I think one reason why bitcoin is so popular these days is because it stands against a lot of things people are done with.
With bitcoin you can get a piece of freedom back, be your own man, be your own bank.
A lot of people use bitcoin just to make a statment. And with bitcoin they find others who think the same way. Bitcoin connects!

There may be people who are using Bitcoin to make a statement, but they will be in a minority. The majority of bitcoiners are those who dream of making millions when Bitcoin goes to the moon.  Smiley

627  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: December 05, 2016, 03:20:27 PM
I believe in privacy rights so I must believe in bitcoin. We need to take control of our future and the first step to doing that is by investing in bitcoin and losing our dependency for the almighty USD.
Bitcoin was proof it self being the strongest cryptocurrency,  good alternative for people who get saturated of using paper money and such as investment too like you said. Bitcoin have so many benefit so we should believe in bitcoin.
In addition to decreasing our dependence on USD and giving more financial control to the user, Bitcoin is also a viable alternative due to the ease and security of making payments by using it. Even for a person who does not have much experience using cryptocurrencies, it does not take long until he/she adapts to it, and the benefits are evident. A lot still needs to improve, of course, but using Bitcoin as a form of payment will become easier and will attract more users over time.

I wouldn't say that Bitcoin's selling point is its ease of use. People, especially the older generation, might not be comfortable using wallets and sending  bitcoins. The 'killer application' of Bitcoin still has not been developed.
628  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000+ is anytime now on: December 05, 2016, 03:13:34 PM
Taking back my statement, the resistance is too high.
I think $1000 (if it'll ever happen) will happen in 2018 most early.

2018 is a long time away. One year is more than enough time to break this resistance.
The resistance is at $780 levels right now, Once we break that, $1000 will be attained very quickly.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 05, 2016, 03:09:31 PM
Tomorrow will be the second one-day match between Australia and New Zealand. In the first game the only couple of players played an excellent batting from both teams. We should see how in next match these guys again can repeat same performance and Australia can lead the series or NZ will level the series. Both are good teams to watch match.

With such a short series, New Zealand are already in a must win situation. I think they will have a slight edge if they bat first. The toss is not in the New Zealand captain's hands and he must hope for the best.
Before the start of the game, my money will be on Australia.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 04, 2016, 08:31:58 AM
Austrailia vs. New Zealand 1st ODI. The home team have the advantage to win this match, They are very strong in Home pitch, But away team also played well in the last series. So this match is going to be very interested. My choice is New Zealand because the odds looks very good NZ @3.05.

yes the odds against NewZealand are pretty tempting and i am certain this would be a high scoring match and the toss will be a factor here as both teams have a confusion as to what a good total in this pitch would be and the team batting second has the highest chance to win the match in this ground.

Currently, I feel that NZ may give a surprise to the home team today. As you said, maybe we can wait for the toss to make a final call to bet on this match. Both are good teams to play on fast tracks so we can surely expect to match today to watch.

Australia are batting first. They weathered the first few overs of the new ball and seemed to be gathering momentum. The loss of Warner will slow them down though. At 47/2 after 10 overs, I would say neither team has a sizable advantage.
Because of the impressive odds I am going for NZ to win this match and since warner is out very early I don't think Aussies can manage to put a total greater than 300 . It will be a difficult task for NZ to win this match but it will be an exciting chase Smiley

Even if Australia don't make 300+ runs a score of 280+ might be enough to hold New Zealand out because the pitch does seem to slow up as the day goes on and New Zealand will be batting at night where the pitch normally slows up a lot at the SCG so it could become tough batting for New Zealand so I think 280 runs might be enough for Australia if they can reach that total. Right now it's still very early on in the match and Australia could very well make 300+ or be bowled out for a small total.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and already last first four wickets for 114 runs and already 24.3 overs finished. Means half of the innings finish they also last all top orders and now need good partnership for another few overs then they can go for bigger hits in last few overs but if they lose couple more wickets in next 10 overs then I don't think they can reach 250 marks as well.

Australia have made a strong score of 324/8. It will definitely be difficult for NZ to win this match.
The bookmakers were right after all to offer high odds for New Zealand.  Wink
631  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at $1,000 by Christmas? on: December 03, 2016, 03:17:53 PM
Cant wait to see it. We already reached once again the highest price this year and 1000 price this christnas is possible. If bitcoin can get through the 800$ ,1000$ in price is real
It can happen like in 2013 where the biggest rise was in December. Wouldn't it be great if the history repeated itself after 3 long years?

If you are believing that history is just repeating itself. There is still a month enough to see that if this possible to happen.

And this will make a lot of investors sell immediately their bitcoins that they are holding, so if this happens. Expect a very rapid price decrease too

And to many other traders it will be a sign that Bitcoin is destined to be much bigger than it is today. I'm sure that when the prices were at $300 last year people were telling themselves that once it doubles they'll take the profit and leave, but once it passed $600 there was no big crash back to $300 again. Instead it went up. $1000 is not a magic barrier, we've been there before!

With just over 20 days to ago, and ~30% hike required, I wouldn't banking on this bit of news to make my Christmas day.
We got to have patience, irrespective of the stellar performance that Bitcoin has displayed this year.
632  Economy / Economics / Re: Global Conflagration on: December 03, 2016, 03:14:07 PM
The true and most concerning problem we have are the mountains of debt that have been amassed in the last decades. These are the cause of all other symptoms (surveillance, suppression of free speech, terrorism, wars) we are seeing today. The underlying debt problem can't be resolved in an orderly fashion. It's likely to result in a big bang and a shift of power from West to East.

In the course of these events, financial devastation will ensue. The average citizen will suffer to a great extent as fiat currencies will enter hyperinflation. We can only hope that people will learn from it and adopt a better system, namely Bitcoin...

The financial crisis of 2008 should have served as a wake up call. Unfortunately, it hasn't.
The average citizen has rejected the existing establishment, but he hasn't taken  a radical call to reject the national currency or the concept of nationhood. Yet.
633  Economy / Economics / Re: The Illuminati thinks Bitcoin is better than gold on: December 03, 2016, 07:18:33 AM
Well, this statement is based on an axiom which can sound like this: the world will move towards digital currency economy. This is something probable and yet we can't be sure about it. Illuminati should obviously be for Bitcoin, because it is anonymous and mysterious just like they are. However, they are supposed to want to take control, right? How can they control btc? Roll Eyes

Maybe they don't want to control monetary policy. And it works for them if people lose confidence in government issued fiat currency and move to gold/bitcoin. Bitcoin appeals to anybody who is against the existing establishment.
634  Economy / Speculation / Re: China Curbs Gold Imports on: December 03, 2016, 07:10:24 AM
This would automatically shift demand to digital gold, aka Bitcoin. If that happens, you can expect China to take action restricting purchases of Bitcoin in some time. So a short and quick raise in bitcoin's price would be followed by a dump.  Smiley
635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 03, 2016, 01:50:54 AM
Indian Womens destroyed Nepal Women and i think it is some kind of record as no one from Nepal reached double digits and was all out for just 21 runs  Shocked and 4 ducks over all and India women went on to win by 99 runs scoring a modest score of 120 in their T20 encounter

Nepal took 16+ overs to score those 21 runs!!. Even in test matches, the run rate of teams is better. And this is a T20 match!
I am sure nobody would have been foolish enough to bet on Nepal. Women's matches seem to follow expected results.
636  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: December 01, 2016, 04:12:23 PM
Well, the price of bitcoin in preev.com currently reaches $ 750, even this will probably continue to grow. This bitcoin price increases continue to occur, although the increase is very slow. Well, because of this, many bitcoin users who think that the price of bitcoin might actually be $ 800 or more at the end of the year. so, it makes people into panic selling

In fact, the $750 mark is a strong resistance level with high selling pressure. Price has touched it a few times in previous weeks and even went a little above that for a short time, but it still couldn't consolidate at this level and then went down. If it breaks through, the next strong resistance would obviously be at $800 per coin. But if it fails to get past $750 now, people may get disappointed...

And Bitcoin price might drop to or even below $700 by the end of the year

We seem to have crossed $750 and stayed over there for the better part of a day now. If it stays here for a bit longer, we might see solid support developing at this level (similar to what we have at $730). And then, we just have to wait for further appreciation.  Smiley
637  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years? on: December 01, 2016, 04:07:38 PM
Will bitcoin still be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years or will something better take over?

Let's ask your question from another angle. What will be the preferred cryptocurrency after 10 years? If you have an answer that says it will be another cryptocurrency, please explain why. I'm sure the reason will usually be funny if it's an altcoin.

10 years from now is a long time. The dominant cryptocurrency in 10 years might not even exist now.
A couple of years ago, nobody would have thought that Ethereum would grow and command a market capitalization of 10% of Bitcoin.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: Central banks - who stays behind? on: December 01, 2016, 04:04:39 PM
Who stays behind central banks? What is your opinion?

If you are implying that governments control central banks, that is correct. While central banks are theoretically supposed to be independent, very few central bank governors can survive in their posts if they don't have the support of the government.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: December 01, 2016, 04:03:05 PM
Next international match is only on 4th December between Australia and New Zealand, one-day match. Both are quite good in one game but recent Australia performance is not so impressive. I think NZ may take that advantage and may start with a good win in this series. Anyone thinks other way round?

The women will be very disappointed to hear that you don't consider their matches as international matches.  Grin
The Asia cup T20 tournament is going on. India posted an easy win over Sri Lanka, with Mithali Raj leading the way with a solid 62.
640  Economy / Speculation / Re: Friday, January 20, 2017, let's pay attention to that date on: November 27, 2016, 02:21:29 PM
I believe we don't have to wait for January 20th since there's another important checkpoint for the global economy: I'm referring to the Italian Constitutional referendum. Italians are called to vote on a major constitutional change. Many believe that if naysayers win we are going to see an important economic collapse.
So, before January look for December 4th. And then we'll talk again.

Does Italy have a role to play in the Bitcoin economy. I doubt if it is as important as say the US or China. Of course, if the vote results in uncertainty around the whole of Europe, Bitcoin may gain.
