Never, take your precautions with this knowledge
This.

A default is inevitable. It's a good idea to get into a position where you are as shielded as possible from it.
623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I noticed everyone is treating bitcoin as if is a product on: August 24, 2014, 11:48:25 AM
Different governments are taking different approaches at the moment.

The UK seems to be looking to treat Bitcoin as a currency:

624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advantages of premine Marinecoin over other junk coins like LTC DRK DOGE etc on: August 24, 2014, 10:37:59 AM
Really nice volume there.

Good luck getting out without crashing the price.
625  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SOLD] 2x Lealana Silver 10 Litecoin "Error" Coin 2013 on: August 24, 2014, 10:29:53 AM
I agree - nothing wrong at all with collecting redeemed coins.

I am tempted to pick up a redeemed 25 BTC coin as I definitely can't afford a funded one right now  Grin
626  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] 3 Hero Bitcointalk Accounts on: August 23, 2014, 10:24:43 PM

627  Economy / Lending / Re: loan of 150 BTC on: August 23, 2014, 10:23:09 PM
What % interest would you be willing to offer?

And I hope you have some interesting collateral...
628  Economy / Economics / Re: First in the world plastic coins for public circulation on: August 22, 2014, 03:34:14 PM
Was only a matter of time I guess, considering there are plastic notes now.

Definitely prefer Casascius coins  Wink

May not be what you are looking for, but The Wire is awesome.

It is multi-layered and a slow burner but when you get into it, it's amazing television.
630  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Suspicious Excel sheet found on google on: August 21, 2014, 02:47:39 PM
Nice find.

Pretty worrying that this information can end up in the public domain  Undecided

For those who may not have been around very long - this sort of offering is something to avoid at all costs.

Search for 'pirateat40'.

634  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Western Union... bast**** on: August 19, 2014, 02:29:29 PM
I made a payment to the Philippines with localbitcoins to buy 1btc. But for no good reason.... well, no reason at all, western union decline my payment but still debit the £315 out of my account! Angry They then call me on my mobile from a german number but i missed the call. So where the hell is my money! I want to buy BTC!!!! Grin
I would avoid Western Union if at all possible.

If you are using Localbitcoins and paying with GBP, couldn't you just make a Faster Payments transfer from your bank which is instant and free?

Yes, my online banking got suspended because of bitcoins.
How often were you buying/selling?
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin going to survive the fall? on: August 18, 2014, 07:19:28 PM
While the price is going ever lower, I really doubt Litecoin will 'die'. It's liquidity along makes it a valuable coin.

While I'm less certain than before, I still think it will maintain the number two spot.

636  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-08-18] Bitcoin shakes up remittances as poorer people offered digital deal on: August 18, 2014, 07:07:48 PM
Bitcoin's advantage in providing international remittance service is beyond any doubt;   this kind of transition will take time though, the infrastructure is being built, bit by bit, country by country.
This.

Remittance is the most obvious global use of Bitcoin and will become widespread before e-commerce use does.

638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could BTC-E dump be the result of a mistake? on: August 18, 2014, 05:38:38 PM
Maybe someone pushed the wrong button or he knows something we don't know? What is your theory?
Even if they had insider information, there would be better ways to get out.

I can only see one logical reason to dump in one go - trying to move the price lower.
