Ether is just fuel for the platform - but the engines have yet to be build. Ethereum is a platform, not a currency. SHIFT thinks they are a currency and wants to piggy back on the speculation around Ethereum - but find-and-replacing in Ethereum code: - "ethereum" for "shiftcurrency" - "go-ethereum" for "shift" - "eth" for "shf" - ... and so on. And with SHIFT giving themselves 250k coins at genesis block (pre-mine?) without doing any new coding whatsoever... really? There are 94 people mining on suprnova right now that don't care about your FUD. |

I wonder if more developments are in the planning, since it kind of sounds that Swing is an experiment too, although a more complex one.
Basically the plan from here on out is just to watch the impact of the swing supply, try to get on as many exchanges as possible, grow the community and spread the word about swing. Swing is meant to last unlike Greed and GE that were designed to live for about a month and get replaced. That being said, as the community grows and developers get interested I wouldn't be surprised at all if holders start coming together to progress swing in their own ways in the spirit of open source development. That involves zero work. But +1 for honesty. I'll watch closely. The developers job is not to "work", it's to maintain the blockchain and improve when required to support applications. Build something that requires "work" and I'm sure he'll put in the time if it's worth it. |
