People used to talk about "losing sleep thinking about BTC all the time", and it wasn't just about money. We wanted to set people free.
In 2010/2011 Bitcoin was really exciting! Are you excited now about the Bitcoin project/economy? Why or why not?
I think there is still plenty of excitement around bitcoin and all of the possibilities. I like bitcoin for much more than money. It can have great social impacts on a global scale.

Great article and this is so needed for the non-profit world. Working in non-profits for years I had experience with fundraising and making it easy for donors to contribute. Many times you have to have easy ways for donors to contribute to receive maximum possibilities with an event. Even events where we had credit card hand swipes it was cumbersome and we had to pay high fees to visa/mastercard. Although we had non-profit status and discounts the fees were ridiculous, especially raising funds for issues like homelessness and hunger.
I am excited to see what bitcoin can do for non-profits.

Crazy graphics and definitely megabanks are out of control. I remember one day my long time Washington Mutual account turned into Chase and they took the signs down pretty quickly as well. I knew several people that lost jobs from WAMU and it just did not make any kind of sense. If the megas keep going like this they will eat each other up and only one will remain, unless crypto saves us of course.

China has been buying a lot of US property as a safety net against yuan for the last few years, maybe they are hodling the property?

Very nice. Great to see a non-bitcoin centered online news site report this. There are a few more weeks of press to collect. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I second this. 99designs works every time, love crowdsourcing graphics! The logo is a bit early 2000's so I am glad to hear of possible redesigning. It would be great as Lisk gets more press to have a new logo as the face.

This Azure exposure has created a real opportunity... I'd be interested to hear what kind of things people think could be done easily with monero blockchain as a service on Azure?
I like Monero and have some but I have to say that just about everyone is partnering with Microsoft's Azure now. Add VCASH, Syscoin, Bitshares, and others to this list. Each time these announcements were made the price of the coin followed. Maybe there is something different with Monero, fun to watch anyway.

I remember seeing this posted back in December and thought that it would not be boring but in fact it has been rather boring. Stable prices are good though in many ways - grab cheap coins and it also gives users the ability to really make their wallet be a bank, less risk of losing value. The return on btc is a lot better and more exciting than return from a major bank.
Let's see how long this boring prices lasts, it may be coming to an end, who knows.

'Distributed democratic solar power' such and interesting concept! Marking and watching how this develops.

Good news. I like the idea of walking into a store and buying btc and buying btc in small amounts with no paperwork is good too. Will follow the progress.

I do not personally know Max or Oliver, but from what I've heard from the people that do- they are upstanding gentlemen. Lisk has incredible potential and its entry to market has come at a pivotal time. While Ethereum experiences exponential growth, Lisk arrives with an equally outstanding architecture. Lisk also seems more user-friendly during its early stages of development, unlike the frontier release of Ethereum (although I don't mean to focus on a direct comparison between the cryptos). Furthermore, once you've done your due diligence and made the decision to participate in the ICO then it's time to assume a more passive role. It is unfair, rather unusual, to participate in the ICO and then quickly take to the forums and demand timelines, transparency, and the like. There are, of course, no guarantees in the realm start-ups; especially so because of the nature crypto and emerging technologies. Put simply, let the developers develop. I bought some lisk, I'm looking forward to a roadmap, and I'm looking forward to building Dapps using BaaS. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) This! We all knew what we were getting in to and to demand info from the devs right now is just a distraction from what they have to do. sometimes it is best to just leave it to the experts.

Well they went to a lot of work on this. Great to have press from such a big source even though the title is not great. At least they make a point to say that Fiat IS friction.

the problem with such topic is that 99% of the time when someone is saying coin X is awesome, buy buy buy, it means that it has already been pumped to the max and the one saying it is the one those sell walls are created by.
It would be great to have a list of coins that have already been pumped. Anything out there like that exist?

I noticed on the "Roadmap" of the site that in June "SYSCOIN ECOMMERCE PLUGINS FOR Magneto, Prestashop AND Shopify" Could be interesting.

I have been using Jaxx and like it. They have several versions for many devices. Great user interface on Android and MacOS.

If it gets that high it means there is a bubble factor and I would probably sell some due to the fact it could dip and dip quite a bit.

The kids in school are more likely to understand Bitcoin than most adults imho. Most adults don't even understand domain names, and that is virtual property.
I agree with this. More likely to find a younger person that knows about bitcoin than older. This is an overall interesting concept to have Bitcoin toys so that children get used to playing with them as money. As children we all played with games with money so why not Bitcoin. There could be game apps for children as well that reward them in fake bitcoin, this would give them an opportunity to understand the math. The sooner you reach children the better, with anything.

To make Bitcoin's price rise and never fall it comes down to adoption. More users means more upward stable price. Education and more press will increase adoption.
|
|
|
It would be nice to be back in that price range to buy more but I say 90% yes that we have left the 200's - unless something unforseen happens.

Ethereum and Factom both are one of the very few that Microsoft had join Azure along with Iota.
Will Iota reach a market cap like they did.
Btw, does anyone know who the other coin is that Microsoft added as a partner?
Since this thread started Microsoft has added even more, not just Iota, Factom, and Ethereum. Now there is Lisk, Bitshares, and Syscoin. Not sure if Microsoft is then going to weed some out or what they will do from here. At this point it seems like no big deal to be on Azure.
