so, its just hillary and her supporters just playing the sex card again. nothing new here.
622  Economy / Services / Re: Need free escrow service on: January 08, 2016, 06:11:38 AM
Threads like this IMO are the reason so many have stopped being escrows around here. Hey i need you to do something that helps me greatly but i dont wanna pay you shit for doing it!!!! If users dont start paying a fair fee to escrows we are gonna see alot more scamming around here and its your own faults.

Exactly this! Especially for account trades as they take a lot of effort. Escrowing here is a thankless job.
just about everything offered here is, really.
623  Other / Meta / Re: People who don't like signature campaigns: first, STOP SPAMMING. And: Click Here on: January 07, 2016, 09:19:02 PM
I think signature campaigns go a long way in promoting bitcoin. How else do you expect people like me to earn Bitcoin with my limited resources? And unless I earn Bitcoin, how am I supposed to use it?and if I dont use it why would I ever adopt it?So Bitcointalk signature campaigns are doing more good to btc than any thing else
not really, the purposes of a sig campaign is advertising, and advertising only. theres no hidden advantage like 'distributing bitcoin equally' or 'giving everyone a chance' or 'promoting bitcoin in a healthy way' or anything. it serves as advertisement, and its tolerated by theymos because it brings traffic to the forum. weather or not they do good for bitcoin as a whole is up for debate though, while they do give people a chance to get some coin by learning about bitcoin by posting on the forums, they do give off a negative vibe created by the spammers that take advantage of these campaigns and do everything in their power to farm accounts and spam for payouts.
if youre asking how to get bitcoin with your so called limited resources, try finding a job. one that, you know, actually involves going out and working, not typing on a forum meant for discussion.
624  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P SCAMMER. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: January 07, 2016, 05:54:49 AM
Master-P (AKA Eric) has returned all of my coins back today at 4AM EST.

https://blockchain.info/tx/83259a136ddd5687fafa876b3b3610300a41a4ed38be87f94d9738a8381c7cc5

Does anyone know if circle uses multisg addresses at all? master-P has claimed to have purchased coins on circle, and the coins he used to repay Tabata11 came from a "regular" address with a single transaction from several multisig addresses that were likely a part of an exchange/service, however it is unclear which one.

I know that circle has it's customers send btc to "regular" addresses when they deposit btc
i think it was stated that they use multisig addresses internally (regular addresses receive coins, and are promptly sent to multisig addresses for storage / security).
found it, just search for 'circle' and the paragraph should come up.

625  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea has developed a hydrogen nuclear bomb. on: January 07, 2016, 05:26:49 AM
I read this somewhere else, and the thing was that even though a 5.1 is not a high-yield bomb, the type of detonation sequence they use is easily scale able, regardless of how much fissile material is used during tests.

If they use 2 pounds of material for multiple tests, they can scale the amount of material for their actual weapons to 10 pounds of material (I don't do nuclear weapons so I am not sure the appropriate measurements), as long as they scale everything along with it.

I've also read that China intends on keeping the DRPK under control, and that both China and the US might intervene as allies if they start getting a bit too crazy, but that might just be me.
exactly. theoretically, there is no upper limit to the power of a fission induced explosion. now that they can induce an explosion, its safe to assume that they will develop the tech to scale it into larger explosions, as well as the delivery systems to successfully complete a nuclear missile. however, it took the US a decade(ish) to do this, and hopefully it takes NK a lot longer given their limited resources.
626  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P SCAMMER. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: January 06, 2016, 07:30:37 PM
Just to show how terrible Eric is at lying...

My steam account is shared via VLAN using the family sharing feature on steam, so it's very likely one or two of my friends were playing on my account during my absence. Even though I had some internet access I didn't have internet for long enough for me to notice the hacking, and my friends were able to continue to log in and play on my accounts since the password on my steam was never changed by the hacker due to steam guard.
so his friends just happened to know about how i leveled one of his csgo accounts (and when), and just happened to know when the master-p account was 'sold?' yeah ok dude.

I can provide (to some moderator) my Teamviewer ID to check my messages so you end up with this false against me
teamviewer is a security risk in my eyes, and in the eyes of others as well. youre better off asking one of the global mods if theyll confirm a pm for you. if they agree to, use the 'report to admin' link that should be on the bottom right of each pm and report the pm to the global mod you asked to confirm the pm's contents. that or give someone trusted access to your account to view the pm's.

is possible only to "Inbox" messages :-/
what?

use that button, i cant understand your broken ass english.

Master-P returned the full amount back to me today at 4am  EST.

https://blockchain.info/tx/83259a136ddd5687fafa876b3b3610300a41a4ed38be87f94d9738a8381c7cc5

If anyone didn't receive their coins yet, please contact me for his information as I have every little detail ablut him.
Awesome mate, good you got your coins back. Was it the threat of dox(/charges) that lead to the refund?
As for the information, is it the same information that Lawthelaw sent?
highly likely, since the claim master-p was going by was 'i dont have the money, ill slowly refund people (like .4 a week was it?) over the next year,' i find it unlikely to believe he came up with 4+ btc out of the blue if that claim was true.
630  Economy / Reputation / Re: Am I a scammer? on: January 06, 2016, 04:15:49 PM
I have already pointed it out to rosinpl that its a dumb idea to include negs from people that are not in DT, as the deciding factor, but he seems intent on the idea.
His rule seems to be "You should have more positive than negative rating". Pretty dumb I know, try another campaign
How does it matter to the quality of posts anyway ? Not like the people who have positive trust or no trusts at all have a good posts history.Sounds pretty dumb to me too.
it doesnt really, but remember, these are companies that are paying for advertising here on the forum, and it doesnt really help them out too much if the people advertising for them appear to be scammers / suspicious individuals.
631  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea has developed a hydrogen nuclear bomb. on: January 06, 2016, 03:27:53 PM
But all the media and govs said that the H bomb technology is far beyond what NK has.

They wouldn't lie, would they?
the media and government lie. why would the government let you know that this country that is still technically at war with its neighbor, and has a history of aggression, is close to completing nuclear technology for the purposes of weaponization? that'd just cause mass panic and calls for bombings on the country. although, its also possible that people just didnt know, with NK's whole 'no outsiders' thing. however, i doubt this was the case, as there was info to go off of, namely the three nuclear tests prior to this one.

however, your thoughts arent all incorrect, based on the (theoretical) scale of the explosion created, its possible that the tech (in terms of weaponization for warfare) is incomplete in the sense that it cant be used for warfare. remember, this was just a test explosion, and the device was either constructed in a lab and moved to the test site, or built on the test site. all we know is that NK has successfully utilized fisson to create an explosion. i believe it took america around a decade or so to master nuclear tech for warfare iirc, and with far, far greater resources than NK has. its pretty definite NK has achieved fission, but its likely a far ways off from utilizing it for warfare, or even mastering the tech.
632  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P SCAMMER. I lost complete faith in this forum now. on: January 06, 2016, 03:05:41 PM
Wow...just wow...

I would never have guessed someone could seem pretty legit and scam like this. I personally never used Master-P to escrow, but would have been willing if requested. I hope you do the right thing and keep refunding and then get your shit together. Never understood how people can just steal from others and not care about it. I also would be afraid to screw over people with my info known...who knows what sort of people you ripped off.

Same here. But what I find even more amazing is the incredible number of people finding so precise data about him... Gonna be seriously cunny if you want to scam the forum xD

I am guessing his original intentions were not to scam otherwise he would have hidden his info better. He probably ran into some financial issue and decided to rip off people here to fix it.
as this guy said:
Then he should have taken a loan if that's the case! Being trapped in financial issue doesn't mean he will rip off other members just like that and fill up his pre-mediated issues.
master-p probably just took the opportunity more than anything else and decided to start amassing funds for an exit scam a few weeks ago. if he was really in need of money he wouldnt be out buying luxury items like cs:go keys or SSD drives. and he wouldnt be playing a lot of games while pretending to be away on vacation or something. after the list that theymos posted, there is little to no doubt, for me at least, that this was an opportunistic exit scam.
633  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea may have developed a hydrogen nuclear bomb. on: January 06, 2016, 01:36:10 PM
based on the waveform the seismic event produced, there is little doubt that the event was a hydrogen bomb test.

source: http://ds.iris.edu/ds/nodes/dmc/tools/event/5170265

compare that waveform to a waveform produced by an actual earthquake: http://rev.seis.sc.edu/earthquakes/2016/01/06/01/28/22

waveform of a 4.5 earthquake near santa maria, Columbia
634  Other / Politics & Society / North Korea has developed a hydrogen nuclear bomb. on: January 06, 2016, 01:24:27 PM
http://www.cnn.com/2016/01/05/asia/north-korea-seismic-event/index.html
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-06/north-korea-says-it-conducted-successful-nuclear-bomb-test

seismic activity rating a 5.1 on the richter scale was detected near north korea earlier, followed by a claim that they (NK) had successfully detonated a hydrogen bomb.
although there are no confirmations of this being a real hydrogen bomb, it does reignite tensions with the possibility of nuclear tech. not to mention, for the past decade, since north korea's nuclear development tests were initiated (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_nuclear_weapons_tests_of_North_Korea) the 'tests' have been getting stronger and stronger, all originating from the same test location.

they may actually have developed a hydrogen bomb this time around. WW3 might be a possibility within this lifetime with this development.

Seems plausible. You'd have to ask BadBear about the details of the recovery.
Only thing is BB is quite unresponsive  Tongue

i would agree, i think i posted it here or in the other thread somewhere, but im not going to go looking for it. assuming newflesh is his alt, its definite he was amassing funds. the newflesh account claimed to be selling a DT account, which was likely the master-p account, and the other green trust account were some of the green trust account in theymos's list.

You also can't cross out the possibility that newflesh etc was just bluffing and could've scammed as master-p was the(only one, the seller was allowing) escrow for that deal as well.
scratch that, it might have been IronMarvel that was the DT account he was selling, who seems to be on badbear's trust list.

Thank you theymos, I greatly appreciate this information.

One more thing... Can you provide the general location of Master-P's address? Can you verify that the IP address is in Ontario, Canada? Specifically around the town of Aurora and Newmarket?
he wont, given his position of responsibility. it'd be pretty damn irresponsible for an admin to start disclosing the geographical locale of the forum users.
638  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do Atheists hate Religion ? on: January 06, 2016, 04:58:04 AM

That's stretching the meaning of faith beyond reason. Pun intended. What you are talking about isn't religious faith. Which I believe was what he was talking about. Yes people don't know the future. So they have to make assumptions about how things will work. And they act based on that. But that isn't religious faith. If things don't work how people expect, people change their assumptions. Change what they have faith will happen. If you want to use that word. But you can't do that in religious faith. You have to believe in something against all evidence to the contrary. Or lack of evidence.

We could get really detailed here. I don't want to go that far.

By the definitions of "religion," all people have religion. And their religion involves a great deal of faith, no matter who they are.

When a person talks "formal religion," one that has a name and some holy or sacred writings, remember that he interprets the doctrine and aspects of his formal religion differently than everyone else who has the same formal religion... differently at least a little.

The religion of a little child often can be twisted this way and that in the little child, by those who want to train him in formal religion. But his religion that is based in reality is strongest of all religions. This is because he still holds the memory of how he was created and built in Mommy's tummy, even though he can't express the concepts involved, and even though he can't easily be made to understand that he might be being asked to express them. The rest of us have chosen to bypass such complicated memory concepts, and in so doing we have made our religion less than reality... usually far less.

The idea that atheism is not a religion, or that atheists and others live without religion, is entirely false... by the definitions of what religion is. All suggestions of belief or faith, and all faith systems, are simply attempts at describing reality. The further we get away from the reality of the little child, the further we get into religion.

Smiley
cant really say atheism is a religion, even by the technical definition:
(credits to dictionary.com)
atheism does not in any way contain a fundamental explanation for the universe and its origins, it does not contain a set of beliefs, etc. atheism is just the lack of religion, or as biomech (i think, a bit fuzzy) put it earlier, irreligious.
prefix a -> not
theism -> belief in the existence of supernatural beings, or gods, that created the universe or something.
atheism -> lack of the belief in the above.
atheism is literally not religion.

However, number 6 in the definition fits atheism, especially when the atheist is adamant in thinking about and expressing the points to his atheism, and the fact that he is an atheist.

Smiley
i think that definition of religion is more attuned to describing a person or idea as religious, example: he plays the trumpet religiously; not describing the following of an idea (christianity, judaism, islam, etc). if definition #6 is to be taken literally as you have, anything and everything would be a religion, from coloring books to harry potter. i just took a randomly sized screenshot to list the definitions, not to take all of these as literal definitions of what a religion in the context of this thread is. for the purposes of this thread, im more or less referring to a religion as definition 1, and 2 and 3 to an extent.

You are finally getting the picture that I said above - did you read it? Everyone has religion. Religion is the way of life for people. Why? Because nobody knows what the future is. That is why people have religion. religion is their attempt to identify the least harmful path and the most joyful path in this life of not knowing anything about the future with certainty.

Smiley
i mostly skim stuff unless its really interesting to me, which doesnt include most stuff. and although i can agree a religious life can be a way of life for some, its not a way of life for everyone. i, for example, dont follow any faith or whatnot, i just live my life as is presented, no dogmas to blindly believe in or stand up for, no stories i live by. also, no, not everyone has a religion they live by, in accordance with the previous statement (irreligious, as pointed out before). also, the italicized part really drives the point that religion is an outlet, but the same can be said of many things, including drugs (alcohol especially), work, etc. the underlined part, is just untrue. bad examples, but there are things we can know for certain or with near certainty, such as the sun rising tomorrow, this glass cup will break if i drop it, etc.
'least harmful,' i think, isnt completely true as well; there's plenty of harm that can come from religion (ISIS is a great example, although an extreme case), its just that the extreme displays of faith these people can manage can blind themselves into believing whatever theyre doing is for the greater good or something. this post wasnt worded very well, oh well.

Thanks for stepping theymos, would you say this , as described by QS is what happened? Not questioning him or something but confirmation from you would be great
Edit: By which I am hinting to the fact that he was trying to pull other scams from his alts, a large exit scam at once.

Seems plausible. You'd have to ask BadBear about the details of the recovery.

I hadn't known about QuickSeller's list of possible alts previously, so my list is independent evidence.

I haven't read much of this thread and I don't know many details behind this case, so I'm not going to try to draw any defninitive conclusions from this data.
shorthand version for theymos and anyone else that doesnt want to sift through the trolling

master-p goes missing for a few days
i contact him on steam because i had him on there from a previous deal
he claims he sold the account back in august, however, there are noticeable holes in his claim and detective work leads to info that points to an exit scam (ie, the account was not sold) that includes, reusing of addresses after august that were used before august, and recently as well, leading to the belief that the same master-p was still in control of the account.
REAL-master-p appears, claims hack after tecshare shows up revealing he has m-p's dox
repays 1.something btc to some of the victims
QS's work finds some of his probable alts
lots of trolling
here we are

probably missed a few things, but the key events are there.

i didnt want to make another post.
You also can't cross out the possibility that newflesh etc was just bluffing and could've scammed as master-p was the(only one, the seller was allowing) escrow for that deal as well.
two individual people coming to the same conclusion that newflesh was master-p's possible / probable alts leads me to believe that its likely the case though.
640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: reinstal windows, dont have wallet file, i there chance,? on: January 06, 2016, 01:47:12 AM
There is not much really you could do if you have performed a full format .I can suggest you to use a recovery software which will try to recover recent files .Just filter out the wallet.dat file from them .Its usually located in your C:/Users/Username/AppData
this, except its (very) worth noting that if you reinstalled windows, chances are the old wallet data is saved in the appdata directory in the windows.old folder. by default, the directory is hidden, so youll have to go to control panel -> appearance / personalization -> folder options
from there, go the the advanced settings and check the option to show hidden folders and items. you should now be able to navigate to the appdata directory in your windows.old folder, and hopefully the wallet.dat file should be in there.

copy that file into your current appdata folder in the newly installed windows directory (easy method: windows run (ctrl + r) and type in %appdata% and hit enter) and move it to the correct location in the bitcoin core folder that should be there. once thats done you should be able to open the wallet in core.
