6221  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: $8 DIRECTVNOW 120 CHANNELS 1 MONTH GUARANTEE WATCH WORLDWIDE CHEAPEST LEGAL +HBO on: March 22, 2017, 09:28:50 PM
Only three browsers are supported with DirectTVnow. It works on Google Chrome, Safari and Internet Explorer 11 so if you can get one of those to run well on your android box (I would imagine you'd have the best chance with Chrome), Bob's yer uncle.  I'm sure you can get a trial to check if it will work or not.

Well it was a tongue in cheek question meant as a cleverly disguised dig at the Russians. Apparently so cleverly disguised, in fact, that its humourous nature even evades non-Russians.  I'm sorry if I confused you.  Russia's track record with nuclear technology isn't exactly sparkling.
What did you want to know about what I know of Fukushima?  That an incident occurred or something more specific? I actually know a fair bit about the technology and I have extensive training as well as experience in the field.

Russia is perhaps the country which is operating the maximum number of nuclear power plants in the world. Still, when was the last time you heard about an accident occurring in any of their reactors? And remember that Chernobyl was in Ukraine, and not in Russia.

The US has multiple times the number of nuclear reactors that Russia has.  France also has more reactors that Russia. I believe Japan has more as well - though Japan has had a level 7 event as well but that could be considered an act of God. The reactor at Chernobyl was russian designed rbmk-1000 and Ukraine was under the direct control of Moscow ergo Russian.

6223  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Radioactive Iodine-131 detected over large areas in Europe. on: March 21, 2017, 10:38:04 PM
I think the artic cold descended over Europe in the early winter this year so the winds were actually north winds.  Chernobyl incident occurred in April when the south winds would become more prominent.  I'm not a meteorologist however.
There's a facility in north-western Russia used to decomission and store old nuclear reactors... Maybe they took one on for decommisioning  that was still critical?

From that question alone one can guess you know nothing, absolutely nothing about the technology. You even know about Fukushima?

Whoever did this does not want to admit it,perhaps it is still the easiest to blame the Russians nuclear testing, I even saw the information that is to blame one of their nuclear submarine which had a slight accident.

This always blaming the russians for everything seems to wear out.

Old money always stays within old money and are grandfathered down the bloodline. Smiley

I was always curious what happen when there is someone in the dynasty who doesn't care for money...

They generally die an horrific, accidental death at a relatively young age or they are kidnapped and brainwashed or are written out of the will on the bulk of the estate and set up with a trust fund.

Maybe you simply picked the wrong section for such a discussion.  Many don't venture into the off-topic area.
Move your post to politics and society -  you'll likely get a response in that section.

Yeah tomatoes and pickles on my burger is all the vegetable I need too.  Wait, is mayo a vegetable?

Damn!  My wife made me veggie burgers tonight!!

N.B. Nu sunt consilier de investitii.  Aceasta e numai opinia mea.

Daca ai incredere in Kraken, nu ai nevoie de e wallet imediat.  Poti sa lasi banii si crypto in contul Kraken.

6230  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: I need quiet in my house! Sound control techniques for S9 miners? on: March 20, 2017, 12:23:45 AM
Cool.  I've been looking at the datacenter option, but I only have two miners. My local co-location center wants $800 per month for a 1/2 rack, plus 9c kw/h.  I would need to have more miners.  I've looked at the firm out of Seattle, but am not sure about sending my expensive computers to a datacenter in another state.

If you are considering this option, you should contact sidehack. I had 4 Asicminer tubes sent to him unassembled and he did the rest. I was given an option to rent or buy power supplies and I paid a small monthly connection fee plus $80 per month per kw. He even sold them for me once I was finished with them. Check out his sig for up-to-date information.
6231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.5 btc tx fee on: March 20, 2017, 12:13:30 AM
Probably someone was drunk while sending the funds.
The funds sent are like 0.05 and 0.2 [ Though the tx fee is 2.5 lmao , 1st time in life i have seen such a big tx fee in this low amount

Well sometines the fees are on the high side when the mempool is flooded.  https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-count
I once had to pay 0.01 BTC fee on a 0.2 Transaction.

But as stated this seem to be some PR stunt of Antpool

Then I will state it was not a publicity stunt for the record.  Bitmain/Antpool would have somehow managed to count on my involvement in their scheme without my knowledge or consent.
It's quite simple really.  An unfortunate event in which they unknowingly became involved was brought to their attention and they made the decision to remedy that situation at a cost to themselves.  To them, 2.5 BTC is a pittance; to a student, it is a fortune.  Their decision was easy to make.  Why is everyone over-thinking this?  How many newspapers picked up this story?  It wasn't on CNN... nobody called to interview me or even e-mailed or PM'd me over the matter.  If it was a publicity stunt, Bitmain failed to take advantage of it.  One would think it they had put all this forethought into the scheme they would have planned on a follow-through.

 Two words - Occam's razor

Having no contact with OP I can only assume he is happy that we, through the kindness and understanding of the good people at AntMiner (Bitmain), were able to fix his mistake.

 https://blockchain.info/tx/eb76fdc7a422342cc5b97c77f8e37406aefb3ec8cfbe2c00e0240138b950b768

I've just come across this thread, did you get the OP to sign a message via that wallet address proving they are the "rightful owner" of those funds? (too late now anyways)

Honestly, that thought never crossed my mind but I don't understand what the point would have been in doing so.

you're the man too

edit: okay I wanna be the man too Wink

now try and find me a 8 slot small form factor case

i wish you luck good sir

Good luck?  Are you being facetious now?  You are the one with the requirement.
Here you go.  micro-ATX case with 8 slots.

That's an entirely different request than your original but it's pretty simple to tick a few boxes on the Newegg site to add some filters.
So you're looking for a mini-ITX case that will fit 4 double-slot GPUs thereby violating both sensibility and the Pauli exclusion principle?

Here's the link with the boxes ticked sorted from lowest price to highest.  Have a look.

I dont understand that too

Yesterday I met a guy and he is now vegan. But before that he was non vegan and was eating all kind of meat.

I think religion played a big role in making him change this habit.

Well this is the season for Lent (in western Christianity) and Great Lent (in Eastern Orthodoxy) so a lot of people will be vegan for a period of time.

There are a few, but they're not real common.

Best "low-cost" one I've worked with are the Termaltake H34/H35 series.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811133271&cm_re=8_expansion_slots_case-_-11-133-271-_-Product

 for an example

*MOST* full-tower ATX cases only have 7 card slots some even have only 6.
You need *8* or more to fit 4 "mining" class GPUs into a case.

One nice thing about that case - all of the drive bays are removeable, and can be refitted into several different positions, so it's fairly easy to get a pair of Delta (or any other high-flow 120mm x 38mm) fans mounted into the front of the case for good through airflow without having to cut ANYTHING.

mate you are the man, thank you.

i wish they sold these locally.

if you could find any more that would be amazing

top stuff mate thanks again

Dude, this guy is not the man.  In fact he is wrong.  I gave you good information and you disregarded it for false information.

Once again, MOST atx FULL-TOWER cases have room for 4 GPUS.  I don't know what FULL-TOWER cases you were testing but you must be very unlucky.
The Corsair 900D which I recommended has 10 expansion slots - plenty of room for 4 GPUs.  Now, here is graphical representation of what I said -

I chose the same site your man selected and I added a filter for FULL-TOWER ATX.  As you can see of the 300 possible cases you can purchase, 266 of them WILL accept 4 GPUs.  As is also painfully evident, there are no FULL-TOWER ATX cases with 6 expansion slots and only 32 of the 300 have 7 slots.  Come on mate, who's the man?  Give me some loving.

Wait, this post wouldn't be complete without a quote from "the man":

 That's better.  Schadenfreude complete Wink

I am pretty sure. This is an act by ANTPOOL itself lol.
The OP only posted once and even after getting his money back didn't cared to say thanks to Antpool? I bet this is all done by antpool itself to show how good hearted they are  Grin

It was the ticket I opened pleading OPs case which was answered by Bitmain and it was that response that I posted here in the forum.  Were it not for that post from me,  I doubt you would have known about the socially responsible nature of Antpool/Bitmain.
I have no connection with Bitmain or Antpool; I simply went to their website and opened a ticket on behalf of the OP.

Stop assuming the worst as your thoughts shape your physical reality, my cynical friend.

What are you doing with them - solo pool lottery?  I'm not familiar with eobot...

Nothing you can do, the coins went to https://blockchain.info/tx/f2d21ed0ea7963e2a658f7cc3b2da4045e46b816861f96ccd9130396d566818b

Whoever sent those coins to you purposely added a very small (3 satoshi per byte) transaction fee and then 8 minutes later sent the coins from that same address to another address with a significantly higher (220 sats per byte) fee which was confirmed before the original transaction with the low fee.  The first transaction would probably never had been confirmed anyway at such a low fee.  This is why it is important to wait for at least one confirmation before considering your transaction complete.

I would think most if not all ATX full tower cases have room for 4 GPUs side-by-side.
Corsair 900D for one.
