6221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc good experience for young people on: January 04, 2018, 04:57:42 PM
The younger generation sees bitcoin as a digital currency with potential as a currency that appreciates in value while in wallet due to it's volatility of the price, more so they are utilizing the opportunities and the ease at which bitcoin is being used as a means of earning while offering Jobs and services online.
All these are motivations for the younger generation to work in their comfort of their homes and earn decent income.
6222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is ripple going to overtake bitcoin ? on: January 04, 2018, 12:55:46 PM
Those days ripple is doing really well, it has more than half of bitcoin market cap and has 19% market dominance.
I hate ripple as a cryptocurrency as it's centralized, now seems that ripple is the queen, not ethereum.

That really is making me upset but I want to hear your thoughts.
Ripple cannot overtake bitcoin despite coming into prominence in the last couple of days ago due to it's market capitalization, bitcoin has been in existence for 9 years and has become so popular that it is being adopted by many countries recent news indicates that bitcoin has increase Japan GDP by 0.3% and so many positive news about bitcoin as it is decentralized.
However ripple being centralized is big disadvantage to the coin as investors dislikes a third party controlled coin.

Venezuela Seeks Miners for the Petro – Maduro Claims 860,811 Already Signed Up

Venezuela is looking for miners for the country’s national cryptocurrency, the Petro. The government has opened up a registry for miners to sign up to mine and gain access to the new currency. According to Venezuela’s president Nicolás Maduro, 860,811 young people have already registered to create the Petro mining farms

Venezuelan Miners Wanted
Venezuela has opened up the Registry of Cryptocurrency Miners for anyone with national identification to sign up to mine the country’s cryptocurrency, the Petro. The portal, launched by the Superintendence of Cryptocurrencies and Related Activities, will remain open until January 21.

Venezuela Seeks Miners for the Petro - Maduro Claims 860,811 Already Signed Up Registration “is an essential requirement for natural and legal persons to have access to Petro,” reported El Impulso. Additionally, the Minister of Communication and Information, Jorge Rodriguez, indicated that the registered may have access to other digital currencies that are authorized by the government. He was recently quoted by Panorama saying:

"Natural or legal persons registered in the Registry will be able to acquire other types of cryptocurrencies for free use and demand in Venezuela, as long as they are authorized".

Venezuela Seeks Miners for the Petro - Maturity Claims 860,811 Already Signed Up
Maduro announcing the Petro.
Venezuela’s president Nicolas Maduro first announced the creation of the Petro back in December, as news.Bitcoin.com reported. He then created the Superintendency of cryptocurrencies as well as the Blockchain Observatory to oversee the launch and operation of the Petro. Recently, he backed the Petro with 5 billion barrels of oil reserves and released mining, trading, and launch details of the new currency.

Based on the latest data provided by the Ministry of Petroleum, “The basis for calculating the value of the Petro will be the price of a barrel of crude, which currently stands at an average of 57 dollars,” the news outlet noted.

860,000+ Have Signed Up
Since the announcement of the Petro, Maduro claims to have been recruiting young people across his country to develop mining farms for the Petro. He was quoted by El Universal:

"We are going to call them a special cryptocurrency team…[They will] set up cryptocurrency mining farms in all states and municipalities of the country".

Venezuela Seeks Miners for the Petro - Maduro Claims 860,811 Already Signed Up According to the president, a total of 860,811 young people have already signed up to take part in the mining farm project, 300,000 of which have already begun working on it as part of the country’s For this project, computers will be interconnected by a mining software, Maduro elaborated.

Meanwhile, Venezuela’s private business sector has some reservations about the Petro. El Impulse quoted them asserting:

The cryptocurrency market in the world is not managed by governments, and its credibility and success are based on trust, something that does not exist in Venezuela.

6224  Economy / Economics / Re: What Is with The Negativity Around Bitcion...... on: January 03, 2018, 10:24:08 PM
the negativity on this is they make bitcoin as a huge business and some of them makes it as an opportunity to make the taxes huge. i see that every trade and exchange i made. there is a huge taxes that comes

Certainly around Bitcoin spreads some negative. And in this there is nothing terrible. Only time will show who is right friends Bitcoin or his enemies.
It is normal for people to spread negativity, most especially when something is new. It has been happening in the past and it will keep being the same or even the more.
I still believe though that, no matter the level of negativity, it would really not pose any much danger for the market as a whole as we all know that this is not the first time negativity is being spread and it would also not be the last, but for now, we just keep our fingers crossed and see how even turns out.
Yes, some media also contributed to the negativity of bitcoin especially during the recent dip or correction  I read an article by BBC where the crashed price of bitcoin was shown in a bad light so as to send wrong signals to  potential investors, those kind of articles are circulated globally which I  believed is major setback in the world of cryptocurrencies.
6225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rising Ripple Threatens to Usurp Bitcoin and Usher In “The Rippening” on: January 03, 2018, 10:09:52 PM
Ripple scales and has little fees but BTC has big BIG fess so its a no brainier who's going to win

Absolutely I  agreed with you on scalability issues of bitcoin has to be resolved once and for all else investors will look for other alternative which is ripple, and bankers are massively adopting this coin which  I believed is a threat to bitcoin.
6226  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how to preditct coin price? on: January 03, 2018, 05:30:33 AM
It can be predicted in two ways, one of them is to do a fundamental analysis which you will study the coin to find out the good things about the coin like the community or the idea or technology behind it and that will give you the assurance that it will go up in the long term and also one of the best chance to predict the price is via technical analysis where you need a lot of time studying how to read charts and that will give you some idea or knowledge that you can use.

fundamental and technical could help us in trading so we can predict the coin price but as long as we don't make a buy order or sell order, then we do not make any profit at all. some people which know about fundamental and technical analysis have fear to buy or sell the coin because they are not too confident with them and they really need more practice so they can start to act. but I think it will be hard to predict the coin price precisely because the price could drop too far or high too far without no one can predict.
I agreed with you as regards the two analysis required to predict the price of a coin fundamental and technical analysis are required.
Fundamental analysis deals with upcoming news or event that is related to a coin and this can push up the price of a coin e.g Hardforks or Segwit2x or a major news of adoption of bitcoin by a big corporation, technical analysis reveals candlestick patterns of a coin e.g bullish or bearish engulfing bar, pins bar, haramis e.t.c all these when formed at some strategic point can predict the price of a coin.
6227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Bitcoin ng 2018 on: January 03, 2018, 05:06:09 AM
Scaling issues is very paramount to the increase in price of bitcoin in 2018, I have read articles of many  bitcoin exchanges, gambling sites, wallets e.t.c have started adopting and putting into use SegWit2x while others are adopting Lighting Network LN I believed once these scaling problems is resolved it will accelerate the price of bitcoin upward in 2018.
6228  Economy / Economics / Re: 2018 will be “The Year of the Cryptocurrency Craze”!!!! on: January 02, 2018, 08:41:02 AM
according to Scott Rosenberg.

So well, what is going to happen in 2018???
Bitcoin boom is in the spotlights as well as wars...

2018 will be “the year of the cryptocurrency craze”!!!!
Bitcoin will have a normal and gradual increment in 2018 we should not expect the exponential rise of bitcoin in 2017 this year because there are some  salients issues associated with bitcoin e.g policies against adoption of bitcoin in some countries, scalability issues with bitcoin and growing crypos competitions with bitcoin like BCH, ethereum, ripple e.t.c.

6230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why everybody is doing blockchain? on: January 02, 2018, 04:20:29 AM
Adoption of blockchain technology by people is simply because they wanted to be anonymous in all aspects of their activities e.g insurance, banking, hospitals e.t.c blockchain is the solution due to it's decentralized feature people don't like exposing their identities and details in business or commercial activities any longer.
6231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin saved my year on: January 01, 2018, 06:34:48 PM
I started 2017 broke and with a very low wage. My girlfriend also broke up with me in the beginning of the year.
Although I had committed some trade mistakes I was able to get 400% gains, thanks to btc.  This gave me hope and made my year a lot better.
I wonder how many people bitcoin "saved" this year, even preventing some suicides maybe.
Your story is similar to mine, in the beginning of 2017 I was so broke that it was very difficult for me to meet up with my monthly expenses due to the fact that I am a low salary earner but thanks to bitcoin towards the middle of the year after engaging and offering different services in this forum I was able to meet with my financial obligations.
6232  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: why not new signature campaign ?? on: January 01, 2018, 04:32:22 PM
Nowdays why any of signature campaigns not come on the forum?

I think it's because the price of bitcoin that is really high and the fees also big too. Most of ICOs also pay their participants in tokens, not in bitcoin again. It's also a christmas and new year day, maybe in the next few weeks, we will see many project/ICOs start their signature campaign.
I don't think the price of bitcoin has any drastic impact on new signature campaigns if there is any new campaign the payment is usually adjusted inline with current price of bitcoin,  and in the case high transaction fees the campaign managers knows how to sort out their payment I will also agreed that Christmas holidays has really slowed down signature campaigns let us hope to see new opportunities in the new year.
6233  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who day trades and who is a holder? on: January 01, 2018, 04:02:28 PM
By day trade I mean literally trading atleast 5 days of the week and by holder I mean holding coins for 3 months or MORE.....

I consider myself a little bit of both.
From my own point of view or perspective  I will likened a day trader as someone who has a trading strategy that can last between 2 to 5 days also called swing trading in spot forex trading and some day traders has positions that last within a day meanwhile hodlers are traders who buy low a hold positions for a long time it can be monthly or even yearly they might not have a trading strategy.
6234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) is a shame to the crypto-community. on: January 01, 2018, 12:37:04 PM
It is a pity that people are diverging away from the core  objectives of bitcoin as a way of being not controlled by a third person I.e decentralized rather people are after making money by investing in profitable coins devoid of the project behind it whether centralized or not using ripple as a case study although some investors had started dumping it after discovering that bankers are behind it.
6235  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin scale in 5-10years? on: January 01, 2018, 11:31:12 AM
Can somebody explain their vision as to how Bitcoin(and scallability issue) will exist in say next 5-10 years?

As we know, currently there are only few transactions per second at maximum, the question is, HOW is it going to scale? Is the solution still just a myth? Or is it still an experiment and it may never scale? With LN you'll be able to transact "freely" once the funds are committed, but still a on-chain fee will have to be paid to open and close the channel...

So what's your vision in 5-10 years. Will bitcoin have 100k/tps scallability, or will it be too expensive to use for payments(and only usable as gold) and can never scale?
I agreed that scalability is one of the biggest challenge being faced by bitcoin as large volume can't be supported, that is why there we have been having recurrent hardfork hence SigWit has been activated which will invariably increases the speed in transaction capabilities.
More so, Lightning Network is another option if fully adopted will also increase transactions capacities all these will not take more one year to be fully adopted hopefully before the end of this year (2018).
6236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I hold BTC 0.05 for future ? on: January 01, 2018, 06:47:03 AM
My candid advice to you is to hodl your bitcoin, in fact  massive dumping of bitcoin had drastically influenced the drop in the price, hodling your coin will serves as future investment as bitcoin is still undergoing correction as speculation is rife that in  the new year the price of bitcoin will rise and gain momentum invariably your 0.05 btc ($680) could be doubled.
6237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The bitcoiners mentality on: December 31, 2017, 01:56:27 PM
I totally agreed with OP on this one the general perception of people is to buy  bitcoin at low and sell at high dumping it massively invariably crashes the price as it was experienced presently.
Bitcoin is a long time investment and we should spread the good news and benefits about bitcoin globally as a decentralized currency.
6238  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance android app on: December 31, 2017, 06:35:22 AM
Hi, anyone know what samsung smartphone is compatible to Binance android app? My samsung galaxy s3 is not compatible.
Yes, the app works perfectly with an android phone, I am using Techno W3 1.3GHz quad-core CPU with 1GB RAM Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with HiOS phone and I have downloaded and installed the app, just ensure that the new phone you about to buy has an android operating system then it will work.
6239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins to invest in before the New Year on: December 31, 2017, 04:44:52 AM
Personally I believe NEM, IOTA and NXT are altcoins that is going to be massively do well in 2018,  recently ripple came from know where and overtook ethereum I foresees one those altcoins of preforming the same magic my decision is based on the  technology behind them.
6240  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think the Xmas and Holiday season, caused the drop in the price? on: December 31, 2017, 12:48:27 AM
Yes, the drop in price being experienced by bitcoin could be attributed to the Christmas season, there are massive dumps by some investors who wanted to use fiat for the holiday seasons and also price  volatility is also low during this period of the year and this is also the same trend in forex trading, the market will pick up in January after the holidays.
