6241  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the worst trading decision you've ever made? on: January 09, 2018, 12:24:11 PM
I would be one among the top idiots to loose a trade on the spot. It was during the beginning days of my trading journey when I didn't even what trading actually was. Yes I traded despite knowing about it. That was the first mistake I did. I should have learnt what trading is and then started it.
Another mistake was taking part in pump and dumps through telegram channels. Let's be honest, every trader would have been in a pump and dump at some point of time. For me it was during my initial stage of trading. Selling in loss was the biggest mistake I did. And the funny thing is I repeated the same mistake again and again. I lost almost 75% of my initial investment during those days and then I took a break from trading.
6242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: major cooperates accepting Bitcoin on: January 09, 2018, 12:06:53 PM
A few of these corporate companies have already been accepting Bitcoins and other crypto currencies as a mode of payment since a few years.
The list has got bigger since then which is a positive sign for Bitcoin growth. I am pretty sure that the list will get even bigger by the end of 2018.
If BTC keeps growing with the same popularity then it might cross the $50,000 milestone within a year. 2018 might bring another fortune for us as 2017 did with the increase in price of 19x times.
6243  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin Experience More Price Volatility in 2018? on: January 09, 2018, 10:17:35 AM
Indeed high volatility is nothing new to Bitcoin as the history itself is completely filled with huge spikes over the other ones.
Bitcoin attracted many eyes towards itself as it gained 19x times its initial price in the year 2017. Many big investors have now invested in BTC.
The price is now stable around $15k-$16k and it will surely increase more this year. There are chances that BTC will suffer a huge correction as the gain was too much last year but even if BTC faces the correction it won't decline more than the $10k target and will recover the decline very soon.
6244  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Tracking down stolen Bitcoins on: January 09, 2018, 10:10:12 AM
Anonymity is the thing that Bitcoin is known for. Bitcoin has been in the industry for 9 years now and in this years there have been many cases where people lost their BTC to hackers and fraudsters. All of those hackers are still roaming happily as none of them have ever been identified.
So tracking down BTC transactions won't help as their owners can't be traced. It is pointless to track a BTC transaction as Bitcoins can be splitted whenever their owner wants. Mixing services are created for this purpose that an amount is divided into many small amounts and then converted back to a big amount for the purpose of anonymity. So tracking down stolen Bitcoins is completely a waste of time.
6245  Economy / Speculation / Re: End of 2018, bitcoin $ 40,000 or more? on: January 08, 2018, 12:00:42 PM
The target of $40,000 is hard for Bitcoin to achieve but not impossible. Seeing the growth last year it is easy for Bitcoin to achieve $40,000 but at the same time seeing the increase in fees and confirmation delay it is tough to say whether BTC will see such a huge spike this year. Apart from that  it took BTC 9 years to reach $19000 (the ATH of BTC) and so it is really tough to say whether it will increase $21000 more in price just in 1 year.
I bet on $30k by the end of the year.
6246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Question about USD Conversion into BTC/ETH on: January 08, 2018, 11:55:27 AM
In this case you can try using Localbitcoins as many people use it these days. There are many sellers in this website who offer different prices and you can select the best price among them and get the coins delivered to your address. Be sure not to trade with new sellers as there are a few people who scam others. Trade with people with positive trust as they are genuine sellers. You can also find a seller with the same city and try to make the deal with him in person.
6247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does Siacoin do? on: January 08, 2018, 04:03:15 AM
Siacoin is a promising coin with greater potential and less usage. Not many have invested in SC since it's price is still so low.
This might be a good price to buy since the coin is rising slowly but still there are risks that it won't grow so much in price.
The project seems really great but not many are actually using the technology which makes it's demand low and supply more.
This is why the price have not reached greater heights. If at least one big company uses the SC technology the price would spike hugely.
6248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where Can I Buy Alt Coins Now?!! on: January 08, 2018, 03:55:07 AM
You can buy altcoin on the exchange website, such as bittrex, binance and okex
The OP has already mentioned that the sites have closed new user registrations. Look before you shitpost.
Again , Bittrex and binance are not accepting new members. I tried kucoin but it is all over the place and the platform is not easy to use. I also don’t want to goto each specific currency and create separate accounts for each one. I just joined coinexchange but I am having difficulty in understanding how to deposit and place trades. Does anyone know of any exchanges and platforms that work? Thank you
Kucoin is an average platform that might get your work done. Other than the exchanges already mentioned I would suggest you to use Yobit.
It has already been in the market for several years and has a large number of coins supported(many shitcoins included too).
Creating an account is hassle free and you don't need any kind of verifications to get started with it too. You will find most of the altcoins here while some of them wont be here as Yobit doesn't support it.
6249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Money on: January 08, 2018, 03:44:54 AM
It is definitely a different thing in the current world. Crypto's widespread is abundance and growing more. Although this movement is growing the community I do believe that many are in this community just to make more money and not using the technology to provide a better banking system.
Also, there is an issue with the system and that is instability of price. Crypto's huge volatility can never make it a better banking system since a currency should have a fixed value for a certain amount of time to be used as payment method. The changing price would definitely create problems while making payments.
6250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever borrowed fiat to get btc? on: January 07, 2018, 03:37:19 AM
I have never done that and won't be doing it in my entire life either. It is said that we should not be investing any borrowed money into crypto currencies and I find it to be really effective advise as borrowed money if lost becomes a burden on head of one person. It is better to wait until you collect a substantial amount of money to invest rather than to borrow it from another person. Cyrpto currencies are considered a risky investment and that's why many people even if they have their own money think twice before investing any money in it.
6251  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What are the best bitcoin wallets? on: January 07, 2018, 03:32:47 AM
Looking for a secure place to store my bitcoins. What do you recommend? I found a few here, but looking for more feedback: http://cryptomarketmag.com/2018/01/07/best-bitcoin-wallets-2018/

Thanks!
As mentioned in the list above the Ledger Nano S and the Trezor are the best ever wallets out there as they are hardware wallets.
Hardware wallets provide the best security for crypto currencies. You will also hear Electrum wallet from many people as the most convenient wallet to use. It is true as it is compatible with all the devices. Apart from all of these wallets, Mycelium wallet has been my most used wallet as it is convenient and efficient to use. It provides features such as custom fees, reboradcast transaction, cancel transaction etc... which not many of the wallets provide. It's seed can be backed up and used whenever we want.
6252  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Converting between Altcoins/Bitcoins on: January 05, 2018, 12:24:50 PM
There are many exchanges out there like Bittrex, yobit, poloniex, bitstamp, binance, bitfinex, hitbtc etc... which are the trading platforms for many traders. You just have to open an account with them which is free of cost and then deposit your coins there. You can buy any altcoin  with BTC. Many of these websites/exchanges have multiple pairs to trade coins so that we can buy other coins with those pairs.
Note that there are no fees for deposit but they charge some fees for withdrawals.
6253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Free Bitcoins - What is a bitcoin faucet? on: January 05, 2018, 09:40:53 AM
I came across this site where people can roll the dice, earn free bitcoins and also multiply them. How legit are these sites and how to use them effectively?
I think you must be talking about freebitco.in as it is the most legit faucet site that gives free coins, has rolling dice and the ability to multiply BTC with its hi-lo game. Yes this site is legit and has been running successfully over the past many years. This site has been mine and many others' first way to earn BTC.
One thing I would like to mention in don't stick around with such sites for too long as many end up with all their coins lost. Too much of playing will make you a loser at the end. Faucets are just a pass time and cannot be treated as a source of income.
6254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Accidently sent .50 BTC from one online exchange to another online exchange BCC on: January 05, 2018, 01:38:51 AM
You should be asking this question in Bitcoin discussion and not in the development board.

There is no way you can stop the transaction from being processed. Fortunately both the addresses are linked to your account and you must be happy for that. The option you mentioned about importing the private keys is possible but not in your case since we are talking about exchanges here. We don't own any private keys when we store our coins on exchanges. So importing the private keys is not possible since you dont hold any private key. Try contacting the exchange itseld and tell them to stop ghe transfer but I really don't think that would help either since they would have already made the transactions by now. Just wait until the transaction is complete and send them back to wherever you want to.
6255  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: BTC must split into smaller units to survive on: January 05, 2018, 01:30:52 AM

I propose a hardfork, 1 BTC (old) = 1000 BTC (new)  Cool

I don't think this would solve the problem as there have already been some hardforks which were been done for the same purposes. The  bitcoin cash and segwit both wanted to clear the issues with bitcoin but yet BTC is still working as it is. All the forked coins has turned into altcoins with BTC running the same way as it was but with more difficulties. So if at all BTC is forked again the forked coin will still be called another altcoin. There has to be a solution to solve with BTC itself and forking wont do that job. Lets see how good the LN helps BTC.
6256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help please!! Regarding BTC Transfer on: January 04, 2018, 05:34:18 PM
Can you please post the transaction ID as that will indicate what went wrong with the BTC transfer.
Your account obviously wont have any  bitcoins in it since the final balance is zero. The total sent and total received although shouldn't be zero in this case. Either your friend has sent the btc to a wrong address or the coins have moved to some other wallet. Check the transaction and find out the route where the coins have been stored.
6257  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coinsmarkets on: January 04, 2018, 05:13:15 PM
I had been with the exchange until the last month and has been using it smoothly for quite a few months. I didn't face any issues with the exchange and I had been using it for staking since all its wallets are online 24x7. So it staked coins just for keeping it in the wallet. I stopped using the site once I sold all my coins which was until the last month. The site may be lagging from then onwards. Their support is good and responses quickly. Try contacting them for any assistance.
6258  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coin at today's price has the potential to moon (x10-x100)? on: January 04, 2018, 02:03:18 PM
Almost all the coins in top list of coinmarketcap are pumped these days. It is not advisory to invest in pre pumped coins since they are more prone to depreciate in price. At the current market rate Eidoo coin is the best to invest in since it has more than doubled in price in the past few days. The coin has great potential and it's ICO was a bang on. The ICO was successful in its goals and raised more than they needed. The platform is launched and has developed over the days. The eidoo coin will surely rise more in the future.
6259  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 80k made in two weeks! Road to 1 MILLION by the end of 2018. (Crypto Investing) on: January 04, 2018, 11:40:38 AM
Well if you are making 40k then that's really a good profit according to me. You must continue with the same strategy but should wait a little longer before you sell the coins. Its quite obvious that you are selling way too earlier than you should in order to make a great profit. I was worse than you during the beginning days of my trading as most of my trades went in a loss. Most of the times the market played opposite to my trades. So it is always better to hold a little longer and not sell in a loss.
6260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buy or trade ripple on: January 04, 2018, 11:16:38 AM
At the present moment it is not wise to buy Ripple as the coin is pumped too much. It has raised to $3.5 in the past 1 month which is a huge pump in it's price. We should be waiting for a while now to make any investments in it. I don't think investing in it for long term will be a good deal since XRP is an inflationary coin and that makes it depreciable in long term. Trading it will be  a very good deal since it is pumping huge these days. So my recommendation would be to trade it or to hold it for short term.
