6261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Stellar! on: February 11, 2019, 04:47:03 AM
If Bitcoin dies, most of other alts will die too, but only promising ones will survive, and I find XLM promising.
6262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most Alt teams have abondened their projects! on: February 11, 2019, 04:45:51 AM
so sad that so many projects / icos only want money and that was it. finding a good project gets harder every day. hopefully some good and serious projects will be back on the market soon.

There are already, it's just that you need to dig bit deeper to find them. I was looking for legit bounty to do and found 1 in like 20 pages of bitcointalk lol
6263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the cheater? on: February 11, 2019, 04:43:18 AM
That's subjective. Not all bounty hunters use multiple accounts (and anyway, bitcointalk account farming is almost impossible now due to merit implementation) and not all projects are scams.
6264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Price Analysis on: February 11, 2019, 04:40:52 AM
I stopped looking at Ethereum price I am more concern on Bitcoin's sliding down because all coins follow Bitcoin price, the one thing that makes me exciting onEthereum is the coming fork I just knew that people will buy Ethereum at the last minute to get a free airdrop.

Ah! That is one sure fire way to make profit. Just remember to sell before the HF or you might incur loss.
6265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you have to take risks. on: February 11, 2019, 04:39:19 AM
Agree with those points but one has to take 'calculated risk', if you don't know what you are doing and do something risky, you got to pay high price for that.
6266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GEMERA ~ ✅💎💠 The Only Crypto-Token Backed by Colombian Emeralds 💠💎✅ on: February 11, 2019, 04:37:20 AM
They had their plans changed. They once also said that, Gemera will continue whether the softcap gets reached or not. I believe current period is last extension and if softcap doesn't get reached this time, project will discontinue and investors will be refunded.
if the developer tries to get a softcap they will try to attract investor interest he will actively promote, but we can see now that their social media is not active, and I am also not sure the investor's money will be returned

They seem like an honest people, also sylon managed their bounty (he's one of the most trusted BMs on bitcointalk) — pretty sure money will be returned.
6267  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrencies Wallets on: February 10, 2019, 04:10:08 AM
I think the most useful one is Myetherwallet. I am using this wallet for ages and have never experienced any problems with it. But I think due to a very high amount of scammers in this industry it is definitely safer to buy a cold wallet and never to struggle about any security questions anymore.

Yes but it only works with Ethereum platform, so to hold other coins/tokens you are needed to use other wallets.
6268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: For those bounty hunters who can hardly relate on: February 10, 2019, 04:06:47 AM
I have been part of the Ag ** e bounty campaign, which until now has not had the latest informastion anymore, at that time I have been part of the bounty campaign for two months. You can feel for  2 months without being given anything that until now the bounty campaign doesn't provide any updates, when I ask for the latest information on the telegram group or in the thread they rarely reply, and they had time to reply when I asked 'when does the bounty campaign end' with the cold they just answered we haven't decided yet. I did not suspect it, whilst according some bounty hunters  he was a bounty campaign manager who had a good reputation but for the fact was far from it.

This is true. Most of ICOs suck bounty hunters and investors when ICO is RUNNING, but once it's over you see the true faces of them. I have even seen this happening with top quality ICOs.
6269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin SV an Altcoin? on: February 10, 2019, 03:59:29 AM
Every coin besides Bitcoin is altcoin and as such Bitcoin SV also comes under that, so it's altcoin.
6270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What can be done with those who think Crypto is just a get rich quick scheme? on: February 10, 2019, 03:57:36 AM
IMO Bitcoin is worth no more than $300 and it will even out at so in the future.

and how on earth did you come up with this figure?
why not $200? $400?

in reality, bitcoin should either be worthless or constantly growing due to less created from mining.
just like gold but with the dimishing part.

It just my free opinion what I personally value Bitcoin to be worth.

Sure it is to be growing but at the same time it losses value from not being able to provide a viable product at this point in time.

So you have to account for both as days go by bitcoin will lose value as it won't and can't compete with new tech coming out but at the same time it becomes more valuable because of the limited amount.

But even then with the limited amount it only has value if people have interest in buying it, there are plenty of coins out there with a small coin supply but just because of that it does not mean it will succeed.

At the same time I do not see Bitcoin being completely worthless as I said I see it only as being a collectors items just because it was the first cryptocurrency.

Still me personally I would not buy Bitcoin for no more than $300, why would I want to have so long wait time when I could just quickly trade and exchange other coins at a faster rate and much more effectively than Bitcoin.

Do you know what perceived value is? If not here is a definition by cambridge:
the value of a product based on how much customers want or need it, rather than on its real price.

Do I need Bitcoin or want it? No so it has no real value to me.

Do the majority of people holding Bitcoin need it no so it has no real value to most people.

Bitcoin has value because it has community behind it. Just like literally everything else, if there is no demand, value will be zero. Why people like diamonds and pay much for it? Because it's scarce.
6271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gric Coin has collected $ 8,300,000 USD untill the ICO stage 3. on: February 10, 2019, 03:52:17 AM
Their team LinkedIn description shows something else than that the person is affiliated with agric coin. Website design is crap (both websites), at one stage they say get 5% bonus and at one say 10% bonus and as pointed about above BM is crap, added to all that, op is newbie. Scam!

p.s. sorry for being captain obvious.
6272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next-Gen Blockchains are Fee-less on: February 10, 2019, 03:44:51 AM
Outdated blockchains that currently charge fee’s per transactions are to be left in the dust as new concepts that allow for fee-less transactions come to light. Get ready to indulge information that is sure to enlighten you.

https://medium.com/@scroda/next-gen-blockchains-are-fee-less-8eebf7f67947

It is to note that some blockchains have attempted to provide fee-less transactions but in reality just hiding the fee’s elsewhere, either by making you pay for it at home or making others pay it for you, in which both aren’t a healthy practice.

Some examples would have been better. Regarding fee less, I am yet to come across entirely fee less Blockchain, some have negligible transaction fees (but still fees!) and some require amount of coins to be locked.
6273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Everyone agrees that bitcoin rise will help the all crypto currencies to rise? on: February 10, 2019, 03:41:57 AM
Can't say for sure. We have seen such small pumps many times before, and it turned out cryptos dumped harder than before.
6274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GEMERA ~ ✅💎💠 The Only Crypto-Token Backed by Colombian Emeralds 💠💎✅ on: February 10, 2019, 03:39:26 AM
No, it doesn't seem like a scam. They have already said then if softcap doesn't get reached, current investors will get refund of their investment. They also had gemera marketplace ready (http://market.gemera.io).
they indeed say that if the softcap is not reached the funds will be rerefunded but why at the end of last year the ICO was supposed to end and the softcap was not reached they instead extended the ICO, as if they did not want to return the funds
I know that most ICOs are extended, but they also have to know if they want to extend they have to know how to get investors interested in investing

They had their plans changed. They once also said that, Gemera will continue whether the softcap gets reached or not. I believe current period is last extension and if softcap doesn't get reached this time, project will discontinue and investors will be refunded.
6275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS? - The better Ethereum? on: February 09, 2019, 03:10:53 AM
Dear Community,

I  am new to bitcointalk and I am valueing the vast experience of all members here.

We are just developing an own idea of crypto and therefore I was studying the smart contracting concepts of Ethereum and now EOS.

There are also a lot of other smart contract - blockchains on the market but Ethereum and EOS seem to be the most important ones.

Therefore I want to start a discussion about these two alternative and their base concept.

I also want to get some opinions what you think of the DPOS - concept, which EOS is based on.

And where will the development of Ethereum go? Will there be a switch from POW to POS?

Looking forward to your opinions and thoughts.

All best,

Michael

The next hardfork can be considered as the first phase of is about to fix the scalability problem and start the ice age update. Block reward will have reduced.
EOS is not even better than ethereum and that's only a self proclaiming.

Take some dApp from EOS and try to run it over Ethereum, you will pay a lot of gas fees.

I agree thet EOS will need some staked but they are always yours and you can unstake whenever you want.

Don't understand the hate tbh.
6276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There are so many cryptocurrencies in the market, what do they do? on: February 09, 2019, 03:05:06 AM
Most are just used for transfers (some allow normal and some private transactions), some have dApps built upon them (eos, steem, ethereum, lisk).
6277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: are ICOs really dead? on: February 09, 2019, 03:00:12 AM
I invested once in ICO called 'dividend', it turned out to be scam — and I no longer invest in ICOs but if I find promising ICO then do bounties for it.

They aren't dead, but surely amount of them have decreased.
6278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins to invest in for a beginner on: February 09, 2019, 02:57:39 AM
I started my journey in crypto world with Steem(it), it has many use cases within the platform. So I would suggest you to buy it, and as always dyor.
6279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The crypto market is starting to improve??? on: February 09, 2019, 02:55:05 AM
We can only guess. Just don't buy in FOMO, we all know how it turns out. If you are thinking to buy & hold for few years then sure go ahead.
6280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GEMERA ~ ✅💎💠 The Only Crypto-Token Backed by Colombian Emeralds 💠💎✅ on: February 09, 2019, 02:49:23 AM
Already enter Februari but the funds did not increase too!!!
I monitor through media (twitter), but also there is no update.

A question arises at a glance 'Is the team serious in extending the duration of sales' If yes?
Where are they? I don't see the team's new strategy, in effort to interesting investors ...

this project has completely failed. you know softcap hasn't been reached. so it's better not to hope that this project will succeed.

I'm sure the dev knows this because they seem to have given up.
I do not expect, even I am not a supporter this project.
I just wonder, How can the duration sale of extended, but no new effort/strategy from team ...
Isn't this ridiculous?

They might have hoped to get some investor attention when they extended their sale but when that didn't happen they just gave up. As I already told, their telegram channel is filled with spam.

if indeed the team thinks so, it's very funny. only fools who think that extending ico can make investors interested. many people avoid ico that has a long duration. so this method won't work. this only makes this project like fraud. or maybe from the start this project was a scam?

No, it doesn't seem like a scam. They have already said then if softcap doesn't get reached, current investors will get refund of their investment. They also had gemera marketplace ready (http://market.gemera.io).
