Alright ill accept your judgement even though I have no faith that vmc will deliver without bullshit along the way as has been seen in the past with this company.

But shouldn't they be considered a chip integrator as of  now? Not even designing their own boards to go with their hashfast chips.
Strictly both, but their main focus (and preorder money) is as an ASIC manufacturer. We will see how things go, after all this is fluid.
6262  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: March 31, 2014, 04:31:43 AM
Do you really feel confident giving them such a high rating with so little hardware shipped (if any)?

C+ gives the impression they are semi-competent and are delivering hardware but we have no idea if this is the case at this point.

That's IF they can meet the criteria, on a medium review cycle. We have to give them something, and C isn't really that high:
Quote
C = Mid tier firm with problems, or new firm yet to prove products
6263  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Manufacturer Trustworthiness Guide on: March 31, 2014, 04:19:16 AM
I would actually demote them to an F if anything.

First they tried passing off the hardware they are selling as their own. Now confirmed to be hashfast chips on hashfast boards.

And I wouldn't even be so sure they are shipping anything until their hashfast boards appear in the wild which could be a while since they are charging $6/gh

This is in addition to claims that they are not actually giving out refunds and a plethora of other issues in the past few months.

My interpretation was the farm is there to provide cloud hashing for customers until the actual chips are ready. They were already quite harshly punished in rating, so C+ is still near the bottom.
6264  Other / Meta / Re: BFL bringing down the trust rating? on: March 31, 2014, 04:16:22 AM
He asked me whether he could demonstrate that the Trust system is broken. I said that he could, though I didn't know exactly what he was planning, and I don't like what he's doing here. Trust isn't the right way to respond to people whose posts you dislike. If I'd have known that he was going to do this, I would have warned him that it would probably result in significant backlash...

I'm happy with the performance of the Trust system here so far. I have a few more default-untrusted negative ratings, but Inaba's default trust score went from ~5 to -261 overnight. (I did not change anything about how the Trust system works for this.)
What about the largely innocent people (ie me Tongue) getting caught up as a target in this? I've done nothing but provide viable services to the community and newbies especially. And because we're sticking to the unmoderated system, my negs are there to stay :/

Edit: Look at the last one... "Bribes people for good trust ratings" from a 4 post newbie. Not only does it not make any sense and is highly contradictory, but someone with such low activity/a throw away account that's not posted in 6 weeks shouldn't be able to participate in the trust system.

Wow  Shocked

I've been logged in for 63 days, 8 minutes. Time flies don't it Huh  Cheesy

Only 17 days and 13 hours! Sad
Total time logged in: 148 days, 5 hours and 32 minutes. Mines a bit broken because I have refreshers going.
6266  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [VMC] Official Virtual Mining Corporation Discussion on: March 31, 2014, 02:55:36 AM
Well there you go, not a scam hurrah!

I'm interested to know why you went with WC'ing when your running out a case. Surely it just generates more heat, consumes more power, weighs more and takes up more space than simple top down air cooling? And has the added negative of not cooling the rest of the PCB components?
6267  Other / Meta / Re: BFL bringing down the trust rating? on: March 31, 2014, 02:47:23 AM
I don't see why people whine so much about the trust system, really all it is meant to do is serve as some sort of general guideline when dealing with new users. It's extremely sad that Inaba is bribing people to leave negative feedback for no reason. BFL has been unethical at best from day one but this sort of behavior is honestly just childish.

This one has to make some sort of toplist for weird things spread on the forum
I guess the lesson here is that if you don't like the system just break it
He is yet to do either of those things and I think he's getting angry.

It will be quite interesting to see how this experiment turns out, although it may just serve to reinforce the irrelevant nature of Bitcointalk and show that no one really cares one way or another about what goes on there, which has been my opinion for quite awhile now. It's mostly just a troll echo chamber at this point, at least in the mining sections.

I'm just about staying afloat/above even, and I'm giving anyone who does neg a chance to break the brainwashing of Josh first. If you look at this guy's comments, he seriously believes what he is saying: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=90768
6268  Other / Meta / Re: BFL bringing down the trust rating? on: March 30, 2014, 08:11:36 PM
Inaba: -261: -5 / +5(5). Is that a new record?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=42514 People are still falling for it, look at his sent.

Heres the link to the BFL forum where they have the OP's quote posted.

https://forums.butterflylabs.com/announcements/8203-win-butterfly-labs-imperial-monarch.html

Definately earned a neg from me. Did they get permission from Theymos? Probably not exactly, they probably asked "can I do a promotion involving trust?" In which the answer would be sure, you are allowed to do whatever you want with the current trust system. However trying to buy trusts always backfires.

I've asked Theymos to comment when he's around.

Some of Josh's comments as to why I should be bombarded with negative trust are amazing though:

Quote
Dogie and Bicknellski are trolls on Bitcointalk, I figured it would be appropriate to use troll accounts for that demonstration. I included Theymos as well to prove that I have talked with him about the demonstration and that I'm not trying to hide or scam anything (not sure what I'm trying to scam here, according to Dogie, anyway). The good thing is, I don't need Dogies permission to run a contest, last I checked!

So don't worry about what Dogie says, his complaints are meaningless and the trust system will likely be removed/changed after we are done. The whole point is to show that the system can be gamed and twisted with minimal effort. Dogie begging you to remove the rating is part of whole thing... if he can convince, plead, pay, etc... you to remove the negative rating, then the system has been subverted, just like you are being convinced, pleaded with or paid to leave positive feedback. This is being done publicly to demonstrate what is possible. If this were done privately, either through a private system of communication or through a use of many shill accounts, one would never know it was possible or happening.

So the whole point is that anyone can use whatever method they choose to get YOU to do what THEY want you to do, whether it's remove feedback that helps guide others or to add feedback that deceives others.

Also - please be sure you click the "This rating is negative -- the person is not trustworthy" check box on the negative trust postings, otherwise it defaults to positive, which is also a huge problem with the system. (It should be a non-defaulted radio button)
6271  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 30, 2014, 01:29:11 PM
where can I get a new board from my cube blades please? one is dead.
Talk to your reseller.

direct from sino sigma, only selling full units.
Not sure who they are, but talk to them for a replacement then.
6272  Other / Meta / Re: I'm sorry, but Inaba has just gone too far... on: March 30, 2014, 01:12:49 PM
There's not enough time in the world to verify every single feedback for all users. If we do it for you, then we have to do it for everyone, then we might as well be back to handing out scammer tags and figuring out who's "guilty" or not.
You could do it for hero members, and put a limit on the amount of appeals. Simple things like this one would take 20 seconds of reading the trust left and you'd know it was fake.
6273  Other / Meta / Re: BFL bringing down the trust rating? on: March 30, 2014, 01:10:10 PM
Just for the record, I do NOT consent to this.
6274  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 30, 2014, 04:23:20 AM
Hi All,

I just published part one of my review;-

http://mineforeman.com/2014/03/28/review-spondoolies-tech-sp10-dawson-part-one/

Out of necessity I am doing the full review as a three parter, I just have not had enough time to dissect the OS so you can expect more from me soon.
Neil

This was my favourite bit, not sure why Tongue

First, you may wish to have a look at Dogie’s review on BitcoinTalk, he has done a tear down of the miner and has quite some expertise in the physical characteristics of hardware and I am not going to try to replicate his findings.
6275  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: March 29, 2014, 11:44:41 PM
How do I reset the miner back to factory
There's a physical button on the control board.

There's some guy who registered 4 months ago and has nearly 4000 posts https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=158505

At this rate, he'll be one of the top posters by the end of the year Shocked

He must be living in the Forum
Its easy to rack up posts when all you live in is speculation and off topic worlds.

I'd also like to see a weekly difference so we can see essentially velocity.

I will create the new forum software...  for free.

I will likely monetize it in some way at a later time to recoup costs/make some profit...

6278  Other / Meta / Re: I'm sorry, but Inaba has just gone too far... on: March 29, 2014, 11:32:19 PM
Just so people know... the trust system is not moderated, anyone is allowed to leave feedback for anyone else.
I am aware of that, but its also facilitating lies more than anything. Its just absolutely false, there has been no money ever exchanged between us so why is he allowed to enter 50btc in the amount I've 'scammed' from him?
6279  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: March 29, 2014, 11:30:12 PM
never pinged before what are the values to enter I saw the option your talking about but wasn't sure what to enter
If you want to ping 192.168.1.50 for example:
Quote
ping 192.168.1.50

So I want to ping my IP for the s1?
If you're trying to see if its there then yes, I don't know what you're trying to do.

That's what I was trying , so I pinged the address it sent back information seemed like it found something. So the underlying issue is that I'm not mining I've configured the miner but maybe its not configured right  (stratum+tcp://stratum.bit coin.cz:3333 does this look right for the pool info. I'm lost I don't understand why its not working

You've got a space in that address
