6281  Other / Meta / Re: User Super Bitard on: November 08, 2021, 08:50:54 AM
Sorry, what? AFAIK, self moderated threads only give the starter of the thread the possibility to delete posts made within said thread, but does not overide moderation. You can still report posts made on a self moderated thread (and they'll get handled by a mod) or even report the OP.
I could also be wrong, but I think that I never saw self-moderated topic being deleted after being reported, unless it's including some malware or if someone reports it in different topics.
Some clarification about this from moderators would be great.

PS
Looks like Super Bitard is now banned, so I am expecting to see his next reincarnation soon.
6282  Economy / Reputation / Re: Request Support (or Opposition) for Flags here! on: November 08, 2021, 08:29:39 AM
Please support this flag for member KanoKano, imposter who claims he created Bitcoin7 exchange but don't want to prove it, and he also asks members to sign up for hi spam emails like it's explained in THIS post asking money from people.
He continues to ignore any warnings and questions I asked and continues to write some nonsense.
Due to various concrete red flags, I believe that anyone dealing with this user has a high risk of losing money, so I created a flag:

6283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brazilian Congressman proposes Crypto Payment for workers on: November 07, 2021, 10:48:21 PM
I think that this trend started with few US mayors Francis Suarez of Miami and Eric Adams Adams from New York but it's slowly spreading to everywhere.
Mayors of Jackson TN Scott Conger and Tampa FL Jane Castor also committed to convert their next paychecks into bitcoin, and it's great news that Brazilian politicians are also thinking about this.
If I had the choice I would certainly accept receiving my paychecks at least partially in Bitcoin for obvious benefits, and I would accept all the risk of volatility.
6284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: USA Bitcoin mining, development, running nodes, transfer >$10K now felonies on: November 07, 2021, 10:35:18 PM
Anyone who makes a trade (or a series of related trades) worth more than $10,000, must file a return containing the name, address, and TIN (Taxpayer Identification Number) of the person they are trading with. The TIN is most commonly the other party's SSN. At current prices, this means you can trade a total of 0.16 BTC with someone before you have to ask for their KYC information and SSN.
Looks like United States are slowly turning into tax hell not only related with Bitcoin but with everything else, and I think they are planning to increase other taxes soon.
I don't know if they are really thinking they can avoid financial collapse with this mambo jumbo stuff or they just want to milk as much money from people as they can.
I also wonder what would happen if majority of people just stop paying bunch of taxes (call it peoples experiment), at least not pay them like they are paying them now, that is more like an extortion.

WARNING to everyone that OP today edited his first post and added registration link for some new ''exchange'' but in reality he is just getting you email address and then he is sending you junk emails.
I used temp email to research what he is actually doing because I had some suspicion about him since his first post, and I will show you full content of email he sent me after registration.
It has nothing to do with any exchange or Bitcoin but he is just selling some ClickFunnels crap, and very first title of his email tells you that this is the most important email you will ever read  Roll Eyes

This Is The Most Important Email You'll Ever Read

Hello,
My name is Kano and you just subscribed to my email list which means I’ll send you an email once in a while, and don’t worry I’m not the type to send you anything more than once.

My father and mother ran away from an authoritative regime who was determined on taking over the government in the Philippines before I could walk, let alone read or write. My father was able to steal a small boat at a prestigious marina with a tiny rutter and we used that to sail across the Atlantic when I was only 2-months of age. My mother was held in captivity by what are known as the “Corsair de la Rue” which was a local French regime trying to take control over the agricultural industry and government in the Philippines. My older brother and sister were lost in the city of Manila which is the capital city of the Philippines who were 21 and 13 years old respectively before they disappeared. I wasn’t old enough to ever have a chance to speak a word to them, or remember them so I can’t say more, but my father talks about them all of the time. It’s something I still mourn over to this day, and it’s a burden that I don’t think will ever be lifted off my shoulder.

It took 3 months to sail from the Philippines, across the Atlantic through violent winds and sea storms until we landed on the shores of Vancouver Island in Canada in a small city called Campbell River. My father tells me that it was the most difficult time of his life and that he had to deal with an incomprehensible amount of pain and suffering due to losing his family. But with me by his side, or being carried on his shoulders, he continued with just a glimmer of hope to make life just enough to be worth waking up.

Due to the catastrophic nature of what was happening in the Philippines, the falling apart of the government and the Dis-abandonment of families from the conflict that was going on, my father wanted to make the right decisions and start off on the right foot just to save my life, so he was very strict on becoming a Canadian citizen and abiding by the sovereign and historic nature, laws and processes that made the country so great. Fortunate with their acceptance and willingness to help those in need, I was able to get a citizenship after 5 years of calling one of the great lands of the world, my home. My father was a Pianist, we slept mostly outside in the blistering cold throughout my infancy and childhood. He would leave me with caretakers while he played in local restaurants and bars during evenings, collecting paychecks just enough to feed me, while he went to school during the day to study and have a background in financial literacy.

Regardless of those atrocious circumstances, I grew up as a normal child, went through school, did my chores, minded my manners and learned the value of hard work. Due to the strenuous amount of pain and suffering I had to endure, I was able to take that negative energy, develop a strong attitude and resilience and became to understand what I knew later on as exceling in academics. By the age of 12, I was taking applied sciences, physics and had already started an entry level college course on algebraic equations. At the age of 17, I had more experience in computers and being on the internet than most adults do across the span of their lifetime. It isn’t hard to put the pieces together to figure out I would be making a lot of money through cash flow generating business models I had studied about on my bus rides to school.

I want to share what I learned so you don’t have to go through the same mistakes I did, skip the headaches and get right to the place you need to be successful. Like how my father had to sail across the Atlantic with me as a child on his shoulder with nothing but a dream.

I’m going to give you 14-days to try out the secret I’m using that cost $millions just to put together. It's called How to make $17,947 per day with ClickFunnels.

I didn't have enough time today to do more research on his alleged ''Kano Corporation'' address in Canada, but it would not surprise me if it's all fake.

He even created similar topic in Reputation section repeatedly doxing other forum member and that is not allowed outside Investigation section.
All his topics are self-moderated so they can't be reported to mods directly, and I think they should all be deleted at least.
I am not sure that ban will solve anything because he is just going to create new account again, and this looks like some personal vendetta revenge.
6287  Economy / Services / Re: I'm Back, Mt.Gox Just Returned 22 BTC of Mine on: November 06, 2021, 02:20:35 PM
Dude, please allow people to live with their privacy and ask for information as much as they are willing to share. That would make the place better in my opinion. Why would he be sharing the tx link?
Privacy has nothing to do with question I asked, and I never asked him to make any transaction proof, but there is something fishy about him and history of Bitcoin7.com in this forum.
All I asked him is to provide proof that he is the owner of Bitcoin7 forum account and not some imposter, because anyone can claim that he is Satoshi Nakamoto or anyone else.

Nope, just saying hi. Was the Tether and BitFinex owner mystery solved? Were they the same group and were they manipulating market conditions or was that an entire lie?
That is fine, but I will consider you as imposter and a liar from now on.
Have a nice day and enjoy your 22 fake bitcoins  Cheesy
6288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ira Kleiman is obviously lying in court - Team up with CSW to create evidence? on: November 06, 2021, 01:51:29 PM
Besides media attention, they (or at least Wright) will not be able to gain like anything .. because who the hell would ever trust this guy after so many years of failing to pretend he's SN?
Judge and jury can always choose to believe him in this case (for whatever reason), and this trial is not about identity of Satoshi Nakamoto but he can indirectly claim that other party confirmed he is.

im just surprised the judge hasnt already dismissed case as a empty SLAPP case and then fined both IRA and CSW for wasting the courts time, adding some prison time for perjury
Interesting thing that allegedly happened when trial started is some bad remarks from judge Beth Bloom how they are finally going to meet the famous inventor of Bitcoin, and that was not funny at all if true.
This is all happening in Miami, Florida so I am hoping people working there are bit more educated about Bitcoin history, due to mayor Francis Suarez.

OP one suggestion, it would be a good idea if you move this topic to Legal section inside Bitcoin Discussion:

6289  Economy / Services / Re: I'm Back, Mt.Gox Just Returned 22 BTC of Mine on: November 06, 2021, 12:58:19 PM
Well I’m back, you probably remember me from starting Bitcoin7.com which was the first Bitcoin exchange ever to exist that didn’t turn out to be a complete scam. Anyway, I remember 2009 like it was yesterday, we all were a part of this forum, downloaded the original Bitcoin wallet and were mining 300 BTC an hour with our 1-Core CPU’s.
Why don't you use just your old Bitcoin7 account, and can you please provide some evidence that you are the same owner of that acount?
If you don't do that I will consider that you are just lying and making up stories like many people did before you.
I don't know why but I have a funny feeling that we are going to hear some digital cash bch-bsv propaganda from you soon.
6290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taproot will follow segwit pump on: November 06, 2021, 12:44:21 PM
You can't really compare taproot with segwit fork so I don't expect this would be the reason for any major price change, but I am not worried about that because we have our good old fiat printing machine for that purpose.
Taproot benefits are mostly related with scripts and multisig setups, and I doubt many people are using this options.
6291  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Wallet Features That Are Missing but Essential on: November 06, 2021, 10:18:10 AM
I have been looking for a crypto wallet that only shows you the recovery words once during the creation of the wallet. After that I want the wallet to NOT be able to show me the recovery words. Almost every wallet has a section where it says view recovery words and you put a pin/passcode or whatever and it reveals your 12/24 word recovery.
Is there a wallet that supports this?
Some hardware wallets (like Keystone) are working like this and you can only view seed words when you generate them or when you manually import them, after that they stay locked on device and you can't show or export them.
Note that for some other hardware wallets (Coldcard and others) you can simply click view and see seed words on the screen.

is there a wallet that requires 2FA (google auth) to send crypto out? I know some wallets have 2FA but it's useless if you could just bypass that by clicking on the view recovery words lol.
I wouldn't use 2FA in any wallet for sending coins and especially if it is connected with phone number.

Basically, I am trying to have a wallet that has 2 users with 1 of the users being the admin essentially. User 1 (admin) creates the wallet and stores the recovery words offline or whatever. User 2 has access to the wallet but can only send crypto out with 2FA obtained from User 1. A pin won't work because then withdrawals can be done whenever User 2 wants, the withdrawal basically has to be agreed by both but User1 with more power per see.
Best option is to create some kind of multisig wallet, so that users of both wallets would have their own strong password, and nobody could send any coins unless both of them sign transactions.
Both of them could see the balance and you could even including more people in your multisig but it would increase complexity and transaction fees.
6292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Testnet Converter to Bitcoin Livenet on: November 05, 2021, 12:51:21 PM
No you can't convert it.
This two are different things, and testnet is only used for developers and people testing new applications for Bitcoin.
Note that address for BTCt are starting with tb1, 2 or m.
6293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Politicians in US on: November 05, 2021, 11:06:46 AM
Mayor of Miami Francis Suarez is a well known Bitcoin supporter but he is confirming that again and he will receive all his next paycheck in Bitcoin.
Eric Adams is one more politician and newly elected mayor of New York City who will receive his first three paychecks in Bitcoin, and he plans to make NYC center of cryptocurrency and innovation.

Both of this politicians are not in US Congress so they can't be found in bitcoinpoliticians.org website, but I think it's important to mention them here, and it's only a matter of time when we see more of them.
I don't trust politicians, but I trust the math and Bitcoin code.

6294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ira Kleiman is obviously lying in court - Team up with CSW to create evidence? on: November 05, 2021, 10:02:22 AM
I would wait to hear what Faketoshi has to say and I think his testimony was postponed, but it's not impossible that he bribed Ira Kleiman and people around him to make up this shit.
It's just my speculation but with this circus show trial they could both gain something, Ira would get money from Faketoshi and indirectly they would both agree that CSW is Satoshi and get media attention.
All that CSW wants is that other people think he is Satoshi so he could pump his bsv shitcoin as a real and better version of bitcoin.
6295  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BitBox 02 -- Has anyone here actually used it? on: November 04, 2021, 05:25:44 PM
Small correction: It should be in "USD".
No, that is not the case for everyone, Trezor website changes currency and price with shipping according to your location and IP address.
Here is one example showed in EUR:

6296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's Fungibility Issue on: November 04, 2021, 03:19:59 PM
Your Bitcoin is the same as my Bitcoin. My gold bar is the same as your gold bar.
Two gold bars are not always the same because of some impurities and you can't even know if you are holding real gold bar or some cheap metal with golden layer.
You would need special instruments for that, you would have to try and break it or take it to some gold dealer and trust his judgement.
There are even some scientists from China and few years ago they turned copper into a material that is almost identical to gold Smiley

Is this something that can be fixed by devs or is this a political game?
Adding privacy option by default on Bitcoin with new fork would stop any talk about btc fungibility, but this would probably create bunch of other problems with regulators.
I don't think we should judge any bitcoin by it's past transactions, in the same way like we don't judge gold even if it was related with some crime, melted and then turned into gold bar.
6297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Necessary reminder: watch out for $5 wrench attacks on: November 04, 2021, 02:58:59 PM
Sold his company for 75 million euros, then lost 50 million euros in Bitcoin after this attack, but at least he is still alive.
This attacks are happening all the time and Jameson Lopp even keeps known list of all Bitcoin attacks on his github page, that is one of the reasons he later started Casa.
Maybe someone from Spain can confirm this, but I think that Zaryn Dentzel was a public figure and it was known that he owns a lot of Bitcoins.
It's strange for someone who owns that much btc to not use multisig setup, but keep coins on some online account with password that is probably some centralized exchange, but maybe that saved his life.

Interesting thing I noticed is that he was posting on twitter in 2014 about WSJ article how Bitcoin price could go to $1 million:

6298  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: [VELIKA LISTA] Hardverski novčanici (80+) on: November 04, 2021, 11:23:35 AM
6299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not your vault, not your money. Why some nation-states will HODL Bitcoin. on: November 04, 2021, 11:02:07 AM
I remember reading about them destroying most of it, but not everything got wrecked.
Then it must be true if they said it supported by press Cheesy
There are so many videos of talibans (even on censorship king youtube) driving trucks, helicopters, airplanes with full US equipment and even uniforms.
I don't believe most of the things on mainstream media, and there is clear opposite opinion between republicans and democrats about this, and only difference is that they don't agree if it is wort $85B or less.
https://fee.org/articles/here-s-the-list-of-billions-in-military-equipment-the-us-left-behind-for-the-taliban/

Let's get back to Bitcoin topic, Chainalysis 2021 report showed that Afghanistan saw big jump in Bitcoin usage and they are better ranked than many other countries.
They are top20 country for global crypto adoption according to Chainalysis, and that is a big jump even better than in Turkey, but they still have lower volume and less transactions.
Let's try to imagine situation in Afghanistan, banks and ATM's didn't work as well as Paypal, so people had no other option than to use bitcoin.

6300  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: BitBox 02 -- Has anyone here actually used it? on: November 04, 2021, 09:25:27 AM
I'll just order some custom sized basic plastic screen protectors from AliBaba for various HW wallets and sell them lol, this is a huge gap in the market, it turns out, and easy to fill.. Grin
Cross your fingers and hope there is not going to be supply chain shortage on that also.
I can't find some things to buy or they have high price, but recently I received something from China in record short amount of time.

To be honest, the Trezor One is a pretty good device to this day. I still recommend it; especially when it's on sale. Sure it has no secure element, but for most people it's better than securing the coins just on a software wallet, especially when phones break and stuff like that.
I think it's even more durable than Trezor Model T that is now way overpriced (€200 + shipping) and it has big screen that is much easier to break.
If you ask me I would rather buy Bitbox02 (instead of model T) because it has secure element and can be purchased for €119.
Any of this wallets is better than keeping lot of bitcoin (keys) on hot wallets of your computer or phone.
