6281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shyness in gambling on: April 19, 2018, 11:42:14 AM
Have you ever felt that you didn't play just because you were shy? I have felt this in casinos, and I just felt the pressure, but there's no need to be because everyone just minds their own business in gambling. Probably some people even pushed you to start gambling. I just thought about this because when I tried gambling for the first time in casinos, I don't know if it's okay to sit in tables whether the game is blackjack, poker, anything in the casino just so that I just felt shy because I'm a newbie.

Have you felt this way? I don't know if playing online casinos would have that effect also. What do you think?

Personally I think being shy can majorly play to your advantage.  Especially in a game of texas hold'em.  Being shy might give you and edge as being hard to read.  Unless of course you've got some major tells..I think it can make you a bit of a wild card and if you play it right can be used to your advantage.

Bitcoin transactions are very cheap again and transaction times are improving. I used LTC for a little while but now there’s no need. I guess people use Monero for its anonymous features.
Not only Monero is an anonymous coin rather every other coin in crypto world is anonymous. We can’t just chose one coin on basis of wrong hypothesis. So better is to firstly look after your knowledge and then go for other option. Secondly, just think how bad you are going to do. And this bad isn’t for someone else, rather you. You are just wasting a coin for this sucking game.

It's funny (and sad) when people call out others for "being wrong" when in fact they are exactly just that.  Hero member too..not surprising , though it should be.  BITCOIN IS NOT ANONYMOUS.  Here ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3s8c7YDtXU ) you can find Andreas Antonopoulos discuss that to some degree.  Also a simple google web search of "is bitcoin anonymous" would do the trick.  However I recommend Andreas..even a feeble mind like yours can understand when it comes from that genius.

btw syamster- your English is very poor.  Work on it before you go spreading more bs with it, will ya?

But you don't need monero in your daily life use of monero is needed only in some situations like maybe when you are using the dark web or doing something that is illegal , ltc is still faster than bitcoin but I'm still happy with the current speed it is way better than it was few weeks ago

I would have issue with totally anonymous transaction coins if it weren't for the fact that some good can come from it.  For instance women/children fleeing an abusive home.  Secrecy is very important to those in this circumstance that fear every day for their lives.  You can't argue (morally correct anyhow) that this isn't a good use of it's anonymous feature.
6284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: April 19, 2018, 07:16:32 AM
Satoshi definitely saw this as a strike against the malignant forces that national fiat currencies and the parasitic monetary/finance system has become.

Enslaving us all in unpayable debts and endless taxation for wars and bankster bonuses ... it is now a criminal system that will go down in history and those at top aren't doing squat to change it, except personal enrichment. (Oh but we are chasing bad guys playing poker online, trading goldbits and smoking weed on their couches ... whatta a load of BS).

Great objectives though. One of the greatest hero of all time, he haven't received any special awards have he? Well, why does he keep hiding all time around he do need to be praised he have a lots of credit to gather. He might be famous although Satoshi is somewhat popular eventhough we haven't seen him yet.

We are never going to and Bitcoin is better off for it.  Satoshi is no fool and knows that.  If they were to show up, they control a huge part of bitcoin, and bitcoin could then somehow be betrayed as a controlled currency by Satoshi themselves.  Nah, I never see them coming forth.

Lots of theories but I don't think anyone one of them are right.  It still amazes me that this very website I'm using a present was created by the man/woman/alien them-self.  Love it.

Does bitcoin have an official wallet?? Like an ethereum for example.... thx

No.  If you're new to bitcoin and don't have the necessary skills to know how to properly create a paper-wallet than simply BUY A TREZOR.  Remember if you don't hold the private keys..you don't really own those coins (exchanges/hot-wallets)!  I've tried and tested all the wallets out there and none is better than Trezor.

If Trezor doesn't work for an Alt you want to hold, I'd definitely use a Ledger for those funds (though an inferior product).

Krog thanks for this, ive always looked in scattered places for information.  I too consider these one of the mecca pieces as they were the first of its kind.  Kind of hard collecting them now but if it were too easy than we'd all have them and bitcoin wouldnt be where it is now, saving this thread for future reference thanks.

No kidding and agreed. I want a B.B. new or used very badly! This is just one cool piece of Krogo’s super encyclopedia though (his website)

A new one to add to the list (sort of), same seller just gold plated his fake 2011 Casascius coin here- https://www.ebay.com/itm/202291230811?ul_noapp=true
6292  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Charity Auctions] Random Lots/ Charity Auctions -Haven Project-Save The Bees! on: April 17, 2018, 05:19:18 PM
I would like to say a massive thank you to all who have supported Haven with this auction. I'm thinking of ways to return the favor following my next release.

I would like to say thank you again to everyone who donated from Ticked, BTS, Crypto_Collection, BTCPenny, to everyone who bid, won, or just participated in one way or another!  All items are packaged up and will be shipped out first thing tomorrow.  A donation has now been made to Haven thanks to everyone!

*1 More Auction To Go- Ticked donated a whole lot of stuff and I simply didn't have time to include it in the previous auction so we decided on having another. So look for that soon!

6293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why some people prefer Bitcoin over fiat ? on: April 17, 2018, 08:18:30 AM
Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.

How is this ANY different than fiat currency at present?  For starters fiat currency has a massive lead over bitcoin when it comes to gambling,DL porn, and buying drugs.  It's not even close.  Secondly if it's legal than this is a morality issue for you bud, not a technical one.  Bitcoin isn't anonymous and is not to blame for your views of what's an unhealthy part of society or what isn't.
6294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do we need to gamble? on: April 17, 2018, 07:24:44 AM
We don't "need" to gamble, but for those of use whom are responsible gamblers.."why not" tends to be the answer.  Now maybe gambling isn't your thing and that's fine! However if you're an intelligent, do your homework and gamble within your means..it can certainly pay off at times.
6295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Biggest Cryptocurrency Hackings on: April 17, 2018, 07:13:46 AM
Hacking of wallet is the greatest disadvantage of bitcoin. People are scared of keeping reasonable amount of cryptocurrency. Our developers have to put head together in order to profound solution to this problem.

Hacking of people's fiat currency happens every second of every day all around the world.  No difference.  If done correctly many hot-wallet's make for great short term storage, and for long term storage Trezor's and paper-wallets safely protect your coins.  I'm guessing "our developers" means you've got an Alt currency better than BTC right?

I’d have to say you’d throw Mt Gox in here somewhere: Edit- I see it’s at #1. Nice article!

I’ve shared this article a 1000 times and will probably a 1000 times more- this is a very easy read that a very knowledgeable buddy wrote that simplifies how the LN works (as well as point out why it makes sense). Let’s also not forget the LN is just being implemented and no major wallets have even installed it as far as I know ..there’s plenty of positive ahead

What about the Etsy scammer? Unless we are just keeping it to those whom have sold directly on here?

No...not restricted to just the forum.

https://www.etsy.com/shop/CryptoCoinsStore?ref=l2-shop-info-name

This guy was trying to be very shady about whether it was pure silver or not, listing it as if it was in multiple places and only listing it as "plated" in one spot.  He also said that each one of these coins had a mintage of 25.  Between purchases of members here I know of, and what he's still got left on this website and other sites..it's a complete lie.  When I confronted seller about whether it was pure silver or not, and on mintage..he stopped responding to emails (nor did he respond to my charge back..letting me simply keep the coins).  I noticed how he changed his website details for several weeks, adding and removing mintage numbers, how many coins were left as well as moving the ".999 silver" in different spot on his page, NOT making it more clear I mind you. Other sites listing his coins prove the mintage was a lie. His other coins that were supposedly sold out are listed on sites like this one- https://cryptocoinsstore.com/products/the-investor-silver-bitcoin
and here as well- https://bitcointeeshirtstore.com/products/limited-edition-2017-gold-bitcoin

I even gave the coinmaker some advice when he asked what I’d like to see going forward, as he had planned on making more coins. Even more of a reason to give others a heads up.
