6321  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: March 24, 2014, 05:18:27 PM
This isn't strictly a preorder as its more so to do with physical capacity. Every day those miners aren't mining costs them $$$, but to have in hand hardware in significant quantity they'd have to put them in a dedicated 500KW farm - but only for a few weeks. That just doesn't make sense.

Instead they're attaching buyers to them as they roll off the production lines of confirmed, known to be working architecture and hardware. A preorder is where you give someone money, they take a gamble with it and hope the outcome is what is expected.

Mine is slightly newer looking at the time stamps, the software guy churns out a new (better) revision every 3 hours or so.

You might want to upgrade to latest fw version via OTA, it gives the stablest >1.5TH/s hashing rate we had so far! Smiley

I have, posted results about 3 posts up :p Zvisha and I have a separate email chain as to not spam you all with firmware testing.

No network IP conflicts, I assigned a static IP. What's the process for re-flashing the device?

System -> backup  / flash

With Hashfast as your supplier, you should have a hunch "is more than OK" will in hindsight look naive

We understand that some people have issues with Hashfast, but as long as we have all the needed components, including the ASICs, we don't see where the issue is.

Thanks
This is true. You don't have to sleep with a man to use his ASICs Wink
6325  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Water Cooling on: March 24, 2014, 09:30:17 AM
And about cooling fluid chemistry :

Most prominent vendors of cooling liquids based on "water" use this :

Demineralised water H20 + isopropyl alchocol (50-50% usually) + you can use some biological agent suppresive, like kalium - hypermangan (permanganate)  which wil erradicate algae since as I see your watter gallon bottles are exposed to the sun, and sooner or later biological agents such as algae will start to form.

Another possibly fluid for this could be Lithium-bromide, but not in plastic bottle and is also needs severe pressure protection.

Serious issue is also the electrochemical corrosion but I have too little information to help you with it.

However being put on alcohol evaporative temperature area, such bottles are not a proper storage for cooling liquid since alchocol will start to evaporate on room temperature, and there are liquid pressure issues when they change phase state, from liquid to evaporative.

This is pretty far away from reality. The vast majority of PC watercooling is done with dionised water + small amounts of additives.

Tried reflashing firmware? And tripple checking network settings (no conflicting IPs etc).
6327  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 23, 2014, 11:48:24 PM
I'm not quite sure what you mean, are you talking about changing the computer's IP so the proxy is operating on a new IP?  Also not sure if it helps but 5 of the cubes are running through a switch but one cube is plugged directly into the router.
That. See if moving different networking hardware around changes anything.

If I were you I'd try to get just one cube working first.
6328  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 23, 2014, 10:53:00 PM
Right now I have 6 cubes but they only run between 20 GH/s and 25 GH/s.  They function just fine other than that. I知 currently running a mining proxy for Slush痴 Pool but have the same problem.  The odd thing is I recently moved and at my last house I was getting the correct hash rates but have had nothing but problems at my new place.  I知 running each pair of cubes off of a Corsair TX850M PSU.

Have you tried running two proxies and putting 3 cubes on each?
I'm only running one proxy right now, I turned off three of the cubes to see if there was any change when running only three on the proxy but there was not.  How would I run two copies of the proxy, through the use of virtual machines?
You'd copy the program twice into two directories, then use one script to run two proxies. You'd also need a line to change one of the proxy's port. But its irrelevant if speed of 3 = speed of 6.

Got any Android wifi devices on the network? Try turning them off.
That did help, instead of running between 20-25 GH/s all 6 are running 25-26 GH/s now.  That is so odd, how do Android devices interfere with the cubes?  Thank you for the help by the way.

Magic. Nah its a known issue with something or other, I forget the exact details Tongue Also try moving about the cubes in relation to the proxy and your router, network switches can sometimes cause problems.
6329  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 23, 2014, 09:46:53 PM
I made a .bat file as described and then I changed the worker names and paswords in the cube config, but I still have not been able to connect to a pool other than slushsエs

Code:
cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Proxy
mining_proxy.exe -o eu-stratum.btcguild.com -p 3333

for example

6331  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Avalon Avalon2 Setup + Silencer Mod on: March 23, 2014, 07:21:16 PM
Hey Dogie,

this is seminer. I have been trying to set up my btc mining rig for 3 days now. Here is what I am working with:
msi z77A-G45 motherboard (1 ethernet plugin)

4-Avalon 2 single modules (~105 Gh/s)
4-Corsair cx 430 power supply units (psu)
1 TPLINK WR703N router with power, usb, ethernet inputs... ip address sticker reads: 192.168.1.201
1 4-slot usb hub (to connect each usb cable off of the avalon 2

Linux Xubuntu 12.10
BFGMiner 3.2.0. 64bit
cgminer 4.0.0.   64 bit
openwrt-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr703n-v1-squashfs-factory.bin

I can not figure out how to set up the wr703N router. I can not connect to it. I type in http://192.168.0.100/ to google chrome browser and firefox browser and I get, "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to 192.168.0.100"

I can not get to the Openwrt admin login settings. I can not configure the router for mining. I also need to figure out my new terminal command to start the avalon 2 mining. Or, if I set them up to mine, what happens if my pc powers down? I need more details and troubleshooting than this information,  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=493358

I will compensate with useful help. Thank you.

I have no idea why you have a motherboard, its nothing to do with that.

It should be miners -> usb hub -> WR703N with WRT firmware. -> network cable to main router

The address assumes you already have a modified WR, if you don't then go to the default IP of the WR (likely the sticker, 192.168.1.201). Then flash the WRT firmware on. THEN go to 192.168.0.100.

Also remember that when you're trying to talk to different subnets, you'll need to change the subnet of your main router to match. Or, use 3)b) here http://www.dogiecoin.com/bitmain-antminer-s1.html with the last line changing to IP Address: 192.168.x.2, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.y.y (x being the subnet you want and y.y being the subnet and ip you want to target to reach the WR).
6332  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 23, 2014, 04:38:41 PM
ok, now I have set up everything but when I run the proxy I nothing happens on the cube, I have all 0s
"clean jobs=false" in the terminal
Screenshot of cube config page, cmd with ipconfig /all and of proxy.

Is your router on 192.168.1.x?
 ahh it is 192.168.2.1
in my router manager it looks like the cube has the ip 192.168.2.104 but if I type that in the browser I dont get anything.
If its not easy to change the subnet, see 3)b) at http://www.dogiecoin.com/bitmain-antminer-s1.html.

Use this line though: IP Address: 192.168.1.1, Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254.

Then get to the cube config page and change its IP to 192.168.2.254. Then change your internet back to normal and you'll find the cube at 192.168.2.254
6334  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive ASICMiner Cube Setup on: March 23, 2014, 02:35:39 PM
no matter what I do I cant get to the config page
I tried 192.168.1.254:8000 192.168.1.254 and I reset the cube to factory settings, none of those helped. Not sure how I can config without connecting.

Is your router on 192.168.1.x?

Very nice to see (1.5 Th/s) but will be challenging with Summer coming for us Northern Hemisphere folks.  Come Winter these will be doorstops I fear  Sad

EDIT:  Did this include the new FW that was posted in the main thread or just cranking the fans to improve cooling?  The links in OP are of Eligius page and not the screen grab from the miner so no FW rev #

Mine is slightly newer looking at the time stamps, the software guy churns out a new (better) revision every 3 hours or so. The cooling side isn't really a problem due to the chips super high thermal thresholds, as long as you can tolerate noise then the units will be fine. The testing by ST directly is typically done @ 30C because they have so many miners in their testing room which is a room rather than a data centre Tongue

Aaand we've hit >1500 in turbo. Quiet mode > 1350.

...I accidentaly put a blade in while the machine was running and the blade shut it off and now if I ever start the machine with that blade in, the red light doesn't go on and nothing happens. What does the red light stand for?  I wonder if I should change the capacitors or it's something else?
Best guess is that you ruined that blade. Plugging it in while the cube was on will connect some of the connector contacts before others and apply voltages in an order that can ruin the board. Also best bet is that the capacitors are not the problem, more than likely it is some transistor based item like a chip. I would suggest _not_ ever plugging in the bad blade again--there is little to gain and it might cause more damage.

Just write the loss of the blade off to a learning experience.
Yep dont try that blade again. You can get things like shorted tracks which will make it electrically unstable for the motherboard.

lol please dont fall for this.

I like it when they do this, makes it easier to ignore them.
6339  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive SpondooliesTech SP10 Setup & Review on: March 22, 2014, 09:54:00 PM
Is it noisier than these coincraft rigs?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ygim9rmf5RQ&feature=youtu.be
Hard to say but its a different type of noise. That one appears to be air volume noise, this one is currently a squeel + vibration.
