6341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 05, 2019, 06:12:13 AM
Right thinking @OP. It is always good as an investor, to  first study the market, study the trend, most especially the new one and compared with the previous before making your decision.
The new trends we see now are innovative, although with an inkling of the old which means that scammers are seriously at work.
Sometimes, the same set of scammers that were previously at work, come back with new ideas to perpetrate their w*cked scheme.

Great observation as exchange token also had their season which brought about every newly launched exchange, be it decentralized or centralized had their native token. it even resulted to already existing exchanges to developed their native tokens e.g bitfinex. Also due to the professional style of their operation by this scammers I have no doubt they're same individuals moving from one trend to other since scammers are always searching for new tricks to leverage on.

As for the new trend, I'm thinking something related to AI based tokens or something with in-depth assurance of profitability but simply based in lies, something security wise. The disturbing truth here's, there'll still be greedy or innocent Investors that'll still fall victims.
6342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 04, 2019, 09:57:50 PM
Not trying to be the foe now but something tells me Leicester city would be able to end Liverpool's 100% winning stats in the premier league. Not sure if they can pull off a win at anfield but they can surely take home a point from Anfield. They did it successfully last season on 30 January 2019 when Liverpool was at their best fighting for the title, so if they play right and luck been on their side, they could do it again.

I'm not wishing this on liverpool as I prefer them to Manchester city to win the cup but I haven't been impressed with their recent performance although they always find a way to win games. I don't think they can replicate Arsenal's invincibility. I predict a draw. Nevertheless good luck to both teams.

6344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin price increase after successful halving of block reward., thoughts. on: October 04, 2019, 08:34:33 PM
I don't think it's possible to come to a final conclusion. Litecoin had a good momentum before halving. However, it could not continue to grow afterwards. Because the movements in Bitcoin affect all altcoins including Litecoin. However, in Bitcoin halving, Litecoin or others will not affect the BTC price.

There's no doubt Litecoin did record some price appreciation before the halving event but here's my argument. On a normal day, if bitcoin record some price appreciation, Litecoin is one of those altcoins that benefits and also appreciate in price. Now a week or some days before the halving of Litecoin, bitcoin did appreciate in price so as usual Litecoin would had benefitted irrespective of the halving event but coincidentally it was around the same week the halving of block reward was to occur so most individuals would had thought the price increase of Litecoin then, was just due to the halving event but I'm trying to say, Litecoin would had still appreciated in price during that period whether there was a halving event or not because bitcoin price was on the increase and normally Litecoin benefits from that.

So in conclusion, the halving event had little or no effect on Litecoin based on the follow up market results
6345  Other / Meta / Re: Staff Dabs abusing merit? on: October 04, 2019, 05:08:59 PM
Here's where the problem is coming from, you see a user putting in efforts, contributing positively to the forum instead of putting aside 1-5 minutes of your time to go through his post history to merit well deserving posts, most meriters decide to merit any post they see, same scenario can be observed with giveaway threads, instead of meriting the threads highlighted they merit the links submitted.

In this case I won't considered it to be an abuse maybe, he just didn't have time to review post to post quality but felt the users deserve recieving some merit for his previous efforts (quality contributions) and for starters he's a staff and probably a merit source so I don't think he'll be putting those privilege into jeopardy for just some few merit and not forgetting, merit abuse is a very subjective matter which DT users are advice to abstain from debating on (tagging users).
6346  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] WOLF.BET Signature Campaign - Sr/Hero/Legendary - Up to 0.008 BTC/week! on: October 04, 2019, 11:18:33 AM
FYI, just 3 days after I joined Cryptotalk, I lost my job so I will surely spend most of my time here and my posts could get higher in number while keeping my quality standards at par.

Although your message wasn't meant for me but just decided to read through and came across this quoted part above. I'm so sorry for your job lost, naturally I would had given the advice of using the free type you'll have on your hands to build your account but you're already a legendary members so I'll just say enjoy the forum mate and still keep up the quality contribution.

I can see you still kept the wolfbet avatar irrespective of leaving the campaign, kudos for that as that's also a form of advert and you're doing so volunteering.
6347  Other / Meta / Re: Please don't use bold text in your posts. on: October 04, 2019, 08:50:48 AM
But hey, does it matter?
Well-structured, and well-composed posts don't need bold texts.

In international English tests, like IELTS, people don't have to bold their texts just to catch attention of markers and increase their odds to have higher scores.

For the first sentence in the quoted rely above, i beg to differ with your school of thought as a well-structured and composed thread can still be characterized or identified based on the proper used of writing equipment made available by the forum which bold is one of those.

As for the second sentence, to my understanding this isn't a formal platform where everyone expects the discussion and style of writing to be so professional or queen-like. This is an informal forum were every style of writing probably is welcomed but still I'm advocating for those feature to be misused or abused.
6348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 04, 2019, 08:24:51 AM
Honestly speaking, if you are into some speculative trading then go for the bitcoin market and leave the altcoin market as it is. At the best I would go for 100% Bitcoin. Yup maximalist at heart. Cheesy

You can't denied the fact when altcoins are at their best, bitcoin's ROI during that same period can't be compared to that of altcoins. I preach investing in bitcoin (i.e hodling) but trading altcoins to get more bitcoin. My jounery in the space is all about accumulating more bitcoin for the future as the limitation of supply would be a major advantage in the future. It's better you ignore the small profit for future bigger gains although that's specifically recommended for just bitcoin so you can call me a bitcoin lover but I'm definitely not a maximalist.

On the other hand, the altcoin market is filled with opportunity to experience what it felt like investing in bitcoin during it's early days. You can't be in the industry and not experiment with altcoins, if you don't than you're missing something bitcoin currently can't give you.
6349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 04, 2019, 04:18:03 AM
The altcoin market is a very interesting market when it's operating at its best. When it comes to investing in them just to increase your chances of accumulating more bitcoin or short term investment, you have to understand there's a season for every type of coin. During the 2017 altcoins bull market I observe some interesting trends concerning how the market (altcoins) react which might be of use or serve as a guideline for future market and help prevent you from falling victims to fraudsters and scam projects.

We can't denied the fact the market is still been influence by emotions which you could profit from, that's if you understand how it works. Each type of altcoins had it's season, there was a time only lending tokens were mostly benefiting from the market via price appreciation. Sane with staking/masternode projects as they also had their share of the market. If you were paying close attention to the market you would had observe more and more type of projects based on trending Ideas starter popping up during their season meaning, scammers starts disguising themselves as startups to launch new worthless project just to scam innocent Investors of their funds.

Same observation happened when projects paying dividends started trending, same with projects crowdfunding through Selfdrop instead of ICO, privacy coins also had similar fate etc. Although the current situation of the market isn't encouraging, you still have to be very watchful as this trend could repeat itself at any given time. Understand that scammers are always active looking for new way to scam investors of their funds. When there's a new trend, always be watchful as the chances of getting scammed through that method becomes high. Invest wisely.
6350  Other / Meta / Re: Criteria for bitcoin forum moderator/admin on: October 03, 2019, 07:03:49 PM
Is it anybody from any country?

For local boards, obviously you have to be able to understand the language and for english board same criteria apply. So yes anybody from any country.

Quote
Is there any rank range?
Is it by lenght of participation period?

Most be a well established member for english board although that doesn't count for local board.

Quote
What are the criteria for being a BitcoinTalk forum, admin or moderator?

In general, it boils down to theymos's decision as back then, you just have to
Report a lot of posts and be a very active member of the community and theymos may ask you eventually.
but the requirements now might be a little bit high since we have members that meet those criteria above in their numbers.
6351  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Vidy (Vidycoin) Scammed Bounty Hunters for $100k + gross negligence on: October 03, 2019, 04:30:32 PM
Kudos to you @Parodium for bringing this development to our attention unlike some other managers which would had immediately taken side with the project decisions. It surprises me though that affected members didn't create an accusation thread earlier or where they taking directions and relying on your detail accusation as seen in OP.

Have left the project a negative feedback to alert potential patronizers of their scam like behavior, hope this get resolved soon but if you feel it won't then I won't mind supporting a created flag to make the accusation more visible since the project is still very active.
6352  Other / Meta / Re: Sig campaign mangers - now help advertising for scammers - TO PROTECT THE BOARD. on: October 03, 2019, 03:39:00 PM
Is yobit a shady exchanges, yes but is Cryptotalk a shady forum? Maybe, maybe not. We have no proof yet so we can't conclude.
Like others said there's no active scam accusation against Yobit. They have made bad decisions in past advertising campaigns on this forum, and have paid the price.

I was very careful with my choice of words as i used the word shady which to my understanding means dishonest, untrustworthy etc. Can an exchange be shady and not be a scam?, Probably yes to some extent e.g mercatox exchange could be considered one of those. We have different references and accusation threads that point towards yobit exchange been shady. It's not in my power to declare them scam besides since the forum doesn't moderate scams guess there's no point debating on this issue.

Mostly what the forum is after is moderating the rate at which spam is been produced on the forum which signature campaign is a major contributor to. The involvement of a manager has minimize that problem to some extent guess that's why the adminstrators of the forum haven't taken action.
6353  Other / Meta / Re: Sig campaign mangers - now help advertising for scammers - TO PROTECT THE BOARD. on: October 03, 2019, 02:26:05 PM
From the look of things, it seems the only associated between the two projects is that cryptotalk is using Yobit panel as a management platform.
From the look of things, it seems cryptotalk is yobit's forum. Do you think your opinion is right and my is wrong, and I think you are receiving money from something you just called shady and you think you are not receiving money from them, even thought you are?

Not trying to defend any project here, just airing my views. We both have different opinions and since there isn't any concrete evidence to back any of us up, we might both be right or wrong. I'm not getting paid by either yobit or cryptotalk so don't understand where you assumption is coming from but well, if you think because when you mention cryptotalk, discussion about yobit pops up and since everything concerning the signature campaign has to do with yobit then they most be connected, I can't argue with you that's your reasoning.

But understand this, exchanges offering their platform for IEO gets the same benefits yobit is currently recieving, that doesn't make the exchange the owners of the IEO projects. I understand it to be an indirect marketing strategy. Everything about an IEO takes place on an exchange and promotes that host exchange just as currently everything about cryptotalk signature campaign promote yobit but technically that doesn't make Cryptotalk = yobit just as IEO project aren't owned by the host exchanges. Correct me rightly if you feel I'm wrong, some of us are willing to learn.

Lol that was me😁 hey @cabalism13 I'm keeping the original screenshot hostage any other copy is just edited and not original🤗.
6355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin price increase after successful halving of block reward., thoughts. on: October 03, 2019, 09:28:27 AM
Decided to give Litecoin a one month time frame to disproven my suspicious of the price increased just been influence by price increase of bitcoin as it has done in the past but it couldn't. The halving of block reward had no effect on the Litecoin price. Some might say it's due to the bear season of the Altcoin market and a bad timing for Litecoin but my worries now is how will bitcoin halving event turnout. Will it follow the full steps of Litecoin or will it turn out t he positive after all.

I would say, the turnout would be positive meaning the price will increase but not as much as everyone is expecting. Bitcoin might not even reach the previous all time high and if it does it might not increase beyond $20,000 or go above $25,000
6356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: October 03, 2019, 09:08:36 AM
In the market, there must be various coins. If the market only there is Bitcoin I think it will not run. Bitcoin needs an Altcoin because if there is no competition, the market conditions that I think will be empty.

I don't consider altcoins to be a competitor of bitcoin as I haven't seen even one project that could out perform bitcoin both in adoption and trading. Ethereum showed some positive signals but when it comes to trading and gobal adoption, bitcoin still outperformed ethereum although in utility, ethereum is the no1 blockchain. Libra could out perform bitcoin as no1 most trading coin just as Tether is trying to achieve but that's a story for another day.

The altcoins market should compliment that of bitcoin instead of been competitors  that's why I'm emphazing both coins are needed for a faster and profitable growth of the cryptocurrency industry. Altcoins providers utility while bitcoin provides global adoption of the technology.
6357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins that have referral systems/programs on: October 03, 2019, 08:56:15 AM
Hello Everyone, Im new to Crypto.

I like to know some coins that I can Earn Referral or Commissions!

For security reasons I consider any project employing the referral system marketing's strategy to promote their already launch coin as a MLM Ponzi scheme. Now if the project is still in the development phase and engage in referral marketing to attract investors for crowdfunding such strategy is understandable and acceptable.

If your already launch coin can't survive without referral marketing that's the coin can't sell itself, it's not worth investing in and Investors should stay away from such coins as they're bond to fail.
6358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When thinking forward always think backward on: October 03, 2019, 08:38:25 AM
Holding is the only way for altcoin investors now unless you want to accept your losses and exit but its better to have patience, i have seen coins that worth 1,500$ a year ago and they are now 200$ , i have sold airdrop tokens that should worth 150$ for 10$ to sustain but i am not stupid enough to get rid of all my tokens and coins because market is not in my favour, be wise and remember that those tokens you are getting dispose off can turn something when market start turning for the better, be determined to win, when thinking forward always think backward as well.

Seems your don't get it, each altcoins has it's season. Bitcoin currently is the only coins that can't be replaced by another coins but each Altcoin can always be replaced by another's superior coin (based on rge same idea and technology) which will be developed in the future.  The altcoin that were present 3-5 years ago, most of then are no longer relevant thats the fate of most Altcoins currently in the market.

Altcoins especially tokens should be traded and not consider investing vehicle like how bitcoin and most coins with their own blockchain are been considered as investment vehicle.

There's a purpose all the simplest feature that help communication become effective are present on the message box. If there wasn't a need for them then the forum won't have had those features on the message box. You aren't here to please anyone with your style of writing although don't abuse or over use them. Make use of those features (e.g bold, emojis, color or glows etc), when the need arises.

Sometimes I just want to get the point a post is trying to pass across without having to read through the whole reply or by just skimming the post. Having users highlight important point either through bolding or glows, make it a little easier for the main message to be spotted and intend information get passed across.
6360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread on: October 03, 2019, 05:20:04 AM
I believe Liverpool and Napoli would need to be more cautious when they are playing Salzburg away from home, as Salzburg might be the dark horse in Group E which could eliminate either Liverpool or Napoli from the Uefa Champions League.

The truth of the matter is, the champions league is a totally different ball game all together. Can't remember the last time Liverpool conceded 3 goals at home or away to any side in the premier league but in last seasons champions league defeat to Barcelona they did conceded 3 goals without replying back. Not saying Liverpool's defence can't handle the pressure of the champions league game but they're not always on their 100% best.

Salzburg, just proved they shouldn't be underrated. One of the problem of big teams in the champions league is that they underrated small teams and sometimes this teams used that to their advantages. We saw how Ajax surprised everyone last season. The home game of Salzburg against Liverpool would be an interesting match to watch. Hopefully Liverpool can win that too, I'll love to see them defend the title, win the premier league and probably more trophies as they do deserve it.
