6341  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I bought my 1st BTC 2 weeks ago for $6 500 ("Lucky"). Pls recommend next steps on: November 20, 2018, 10:30:03 AM
It's been a busy week for the bitcoin, and you could feel you probably bought at the wrong time, but that could end up not being the case, I honestly feel this is actually the right time to buy, as its relatively cheaper, but with all the negativity about this being the end of the bitcoin,i really do not know how wise it is..
There are only two options, and one is to sell off, hoping not to lose much more,if the price further drops..
While the second is to hodl and hope the price improves..
TBH it's all down to what you feel is right
6342  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: November 20, 2018, 09:46:34 AM
Reading up on changes to position and gaining rank. Although this affects me negatively l see the merit it what is being introduced and hope spam issues are dealt with. In saying that does seem that with so many altcoin threads, obtaining merit can be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Will work on quality and see what happens.
You assessments/comparison as regards merits is quite a funny one, If you actually followed this thread from day1, you'll see even through this topic, some newbies ranked back up,and since then till today, thousands of newbies have all retained their erstwhile Jr member rank, some moved over to member, and few full members, thats just to say,its not quite as difficult as you put it,or as you're trying to portray the merit system

Basically its/it will be difficult for one with no intention whatsoever to contribute to the forum, but is simply here to earn, without giving back, thats actually unfair and should not be so..

Your post history doesn't speak well of your intentions in the forum, try cleaning it up, it's a good way to start up
6343  Other / Meta / Re: I appeal enlightened and higher rank member to start up threads more often on: November 20, 2018, 09:26:57 AM
The forum has a search option, thats privy to you and every user on the forum,as well as a quick Google Search about any pressing issue you wanna verify on the forum, and you'll definitely be redirected to where and when exactly it was discussed on the forum,i use it and I implore you to do likewise,as it definitely will save you some stress really..

And the issue with starting such threads you mentioned by "high ranked members"(Though it definitely can/should be started by anyone irrespective of ranks),is that such topics hardly ever get any real/valuable replies,80% of the replies would be from users who have 0 knowledge of the matter at hand, thus a user who wants to read would have to scan 10 garage replies to get 1 meaningful one,its rather stressful and unhealthy..
And the reason for that is the section where those topics are suited such as the BD board/AD board, and such sections have actually turned to a hot bed for low quality spam/spammers,and worse still most high ranked members have such sections on ignore,so waiting for their threads one those topics,i doubt you'll be seeing any soon

Except of course as jetcash said, if such posts are made in the IT or SD sections, then it could be worthwhile, but surprisingly those sections are actually somewhat innactive.
6344  Other / Meta / Re: How to reveal spammers who pretending to be translators of native speakers on: November 20, 2018, 06:16:22 AM
Bounty managers/japanese translation etc has nothing to do with the meta board,if you feel some unscrupulous individuals are trying to cheat in a bounty by claiming to be Japanese, then you simply report them to the bounty managers

This sort of issue is not forum moderated,do not waste our time with them
6345  Other / Meta / Re: How recognized are you in the bitcointalk world? on: November 20, 2018, 06:13:17 AM
I see I have slipped to 320 now that I am following OgNasty's advce to stop starting threads.
I suspect that a lower profile may lead to a quieter life. As a Legendary and a merit source, I don't need to earn any merits, so this could help me to avoid those annoying conflicts that seem to come from high activity.
I'm still looking for good posts to award with merits though.
Lol,i actually read the post were OGnansty was all in your face about staying away from the new topic button for a while, but I'm sure that didn't/hasnt stopped you from starting new threads,as you still very much do..

While a lower profile may not attract a lot of attention,i sure would prefer to be a Legendary member, with all the attention in the world,i actually wouldn't mind

Merits earned are actually better than those replenished every 30days, as they actually do count on one's merit score, so earning merits as well as looking for meritable posts is a wonderful combination...

That being said Vod put together a masterclass on this thread..
Inspiration mate!!!
6346  Other / Meta / Re: ETFbitcoin's merit source application on: November 20, 2018, 06:01:59 AM
The requirements for applying to be a merit source happens to be that such individual must at least be somewhat of a reputable member on the forum, with at least some positive trusts and no negative trust(it will help increase ones chances),and also to garner from around the forum 10 posts that haven't been merited,or haven't gotten the real number of merits it actually deserves...

There is no tag as to a paid signature campaign,as it's absolutely acceptable on the forum, and being on one doesn't make one dishonest,or less trustworthy...
It's a honest way to earn from the forum, just that most noobs abuse it by spamming the forum with tons of alt accounts, and definitely the OP isn't one of them...

Good luck mate!!!
6347  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do i need an advisor for Bitcoin on: November 19, 2018, 07:40:52 PM
No, not really necessary. I got through the market without much help of an advisor but I did read a lot of discussion. Joined telegram groups, reddit and other social media. DOn't get swayed by the hype tho.
Surely every one treads on different paths/routes,you probably learnt the very way that suited you..
If the OP feels it's imperative to have an advisor,to direct his/her investments, then I think it's totally fine and acceptable as long as such advisor is a reputable individual, and is not entrusted with much personal information...
6348  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why day trading may help you to end up everything | Must Watch for beginners on: November 19, 2018, 07:19:36 PM
I actually do not see any wrong with day trading, just that it's a short term investment,as opposed to the hodling kinda longer term investments, and your points aren't really pointing to the inimical side of day trading...
Any sort of trade is risky to be honest,i for example I trade actively on the market, ive met profit as well as losses, its a normal phenomenon
I know holders(friends of mine) who are at a --50% loss at the moment,as the price is pretty way below what they bought for, and they only can wait..

It's all about doing what works for you, with the right signals and luck, one shouldn't have much of a problem with day trading
6349  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why getting merit without helful post? on: November 19, 2018, 07:02:23 PM
You can punish me if I've said something wrong and I will not feel bad about it. Because I'm not afraid to tell the truth.
This is a forum for discussion, and as long as you break none of our rules, you definitely cannot/will not be punished, and you've done none of that with this post..
Your assessment is a bit wrong though as the preceeding replies have all pointed out, it's basically a known fact on the forum now, if you're good, and you can come up with good quality stuff, there is no chance in hell you'll remain meritless
The thing is simply about your willingness to be useful on the forum,English could be a slight barrier, but it counts for less,as long as theirs coherence in your text

Time spent on this post, could have been used for something more profitable, and probably one could have merited you
6350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know any "whale"? If you do post it here! on: November 18, 2018, 02:32:27 PM
Whales use the large amounts of assets they own to manipulate the market, more often than not,in their favor, and they do so, staying absolutely anonymous, someone who owns such assets as whales do, wouldn't give up his/her identity, will they..

We really do not need to go witch hunting for whales, rather we should make our own decisions, and avoid panic/FUD
6351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Technical Analysis and Fundamental Analysis👀 on: November 18, 2018, 02:26:52 PM
I'm actually not a fan of bitcoin technicalities,as I sure do have paltry knowledge of it when investing,or when looking for the best possible means of trading
I simply stick with the basic/fundamental aspect, and try as much as possible not to step too far out of the box..
Take less risk, take easy steps and never be greedy..
It's definitely worked for me,without me actually learning all there is to learn about trading
6352  Other / Off-topic / Re: Let's aid the not so fluent in English on: November 18, 2018, 02:21:13 PM
Having clearly understandable posts on the forum would surely improve discussions. And allow everyone join in without any language limitations.
Definitely it will, and most times its not just about how polished ones English is,but about ample knowledge on the topic being discussed, thats the two major issues we are currently facing on the forum
Delving into discussions, with no on--topic reply, and no knowledge of what is being said is obviously as harmful/inimical as a poorly constructed post
It's even more woeful when a user faults in both
6353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SOLUTION TO KNOW IF SATOSHI NAKAMOTO IS REALLY DEAD.... on: November 18, 2018, 12:34:37 PM
Who rules the bitcoin blockchain, is Satoshi?
No, we rule it !
The more reason why we shouldn't worry our pretty heads about who satoshi is or if he/she is dead,as it'll add nothing to the system..
Numerous investigations have been made about that without any valuable results,so I think leaving things the way they are is absolutely the most reasonable option, plus your ideas about the discovery into his/her identity is rather queer and unnecessary
6354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VOLATILITY IN BITCOIN,WHO SHOULD BE WORRIED? on: November 18, 2018, 12:22:30 PM
I wouldn't really blame anyone worrying right now as a result of the dip,but that as much as it should go, panic shouldn't be allowed to creep in,cos thats what the media and the manipulators actually hope to achieve,we are used to all this now,the market is as bearish as it gets at the moment, with no bull actually in sight, but it's worth it to still believe in the bitcoin
6355  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market's on minimum, time to buy? on: November 15, 2018, 02:07:38 PM
great... and i literally bought 1 hour before the price crashed, now im down 15% in value
Many people are down with about 80%,think of users who bought during the 20k dollars time, and are still holding up,expecting a rise, it takes a really strong mind to survive in this network..
As always it'll always be right to hold on, as it'll be foolish selling lower than you bought, except you're in real life financial crisis
6356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does The end of mining lead to end end of innovations? on: November 15, 2018, 07:38:23 AM
Mining can definitely not end, it can only be upgraded to possibly a higher tech or something, just as we moved over from anybody mining over his/her laptop back in the early days, now to high powered electrical units(mining rig),smart individuals on hand to solve one puzzle or the other before another..

It can only get harder,or probably more developed than it already is at the moment, but for an end to mining it's not happening in this lifetime
6357  Other / Meta / Re: New board in altcoin? on: November 14, 2018, 04:10:04 PM
To be honest I wouldn't really endorse this idea, considering the fact we're still currently battling with clearing up the pile of shot posts in the Altcoin discussion section, creating another boards will simply be doubling the work we'll have to do on that section
6358  Other / Meta / Re: I put the meriters and the OP on ignore for this thread. on: November 14, 2018, 04:07:45 PM
The OP's post is definitely a harmful one for the forum,at least for those who actually care about the forum,as it only encourages spam and spammers..

With that being said,he actually put much work into it, probably why the meriters did merit him(which he didn't deserve in my opinion)

The last line is kinda a debatable one,but I'll say he's done nothing wrong by asking for merits,as he didn't beg excessively for it Undecided
6359  Economy / Reputation / Re: Multiple Account + trust exchanging on: November 14, 2018, 02:10:49 PM
I think the major issue here is the merit exchange between the both parties(accounts),some users on this forum make posts with alts, and end up commenting on the very post they made, I've seen it once or twice, though it's frowned upon..
If this is proven(merit abuse), at most a DT could leave them a red tag or so
6360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHICH CONCEPTS WOULD YOU HIGHLIGHT THE MOST WHILE EXPLAINING BITCOIN? on: November 12, 2018, 07:47:28 PM
Bitcoin mining is a gray area to newcomers on the network, and even those who've been on the system for a while, its not so easy to understand how bitcoin mining works
So if I'm to talk to someone about bitcoin's functioning,i suppose the first question I'll be asked is how are bitcoin transactions confirmed, how can I purchase bitcoins..
Which inevitably will lead to explaining bitcoin mining,as this stage were bitcoin transactions are confirmed by miners, and this miners confirm this transaction by solving a cryptographic puzzle, and the first miner to solve this puzzle gets rewarded with bitcoins and/or transactions fees, and the transaction gets moved over to another block, till the block confirmations are complete

But also to take note that once the transaction has been confirmed by one miner(one block confirmation),such transactions cannot be undone
