6341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in Sports Betting on: February 13, 2019, 11:03:01 AM
In dice game, there isn't any relation between dice rolls so using martingale can incur multiple losses in a raw and wipe out your bankroll but what about sports betting?

You bet on a good team, it will win eventually. No?

I think this has been discussed many years ago.

Personally, I don't like Martingale System specially in sports betting, might better if you just parlays.

If you're the one who gets addicted, what possibilities can you do?

This is a hard question to answer, specially for addicted one because majority of them doesn't want to admit their addiction.

If you're gonna ask me, maybe I'll first have a serious discussion with my wife bout the money that I will gonna spend at the casinos then later on we could have an endless arguement that can lead us into nothing.

It's a bold move, but this should be a case to case basis. Not everyone's wife will totally agree with this approved.

If I get addicted maybe there is also a possibility that I will certainly blame people whenever I lose on a game. (That's the attitude that I have and I don't want it to show.)

And you? Would you be the same? Or even worst?

True. I have been in this situation before, I blame everyone, all the people from behind, even someone who sits beside me in a slot machine. lol. Until I realized that I've been too much in gambling because of that attitude, so what I do is control and reduced my gambling and be a responsible gambler. I don't want to be another person who's going to ruined his life, so I decided to just play and have fun and not worry about my winnings.
6343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction becomes more popular with young people over time on: February 12, 2019, 08:28:15 AM
At the moment young people are indeed the biggest percentage owner who is addicted to gambling games, this is inseparable from the many young people who get the ease of accessing gambling games. The gambling game is currently very accessible to the millennial era so that young people become the highest possessor of dominance. Most of them play gambling to get entertainment, but some who can't control themselves are in the addiction phase. But for me, the addiction that young people get is not too severe, it is because mentally that young people have good readiness.

I think young people will not simply go and gamble. For me there are outside influence, like a friend or someone close that introduces them to gambling. Of course, online is accessible, but I seriously doubt that they will just go create an account and gamble, maybe they became curious, but that's not number reason for them.

Younger people are easily influence, and if someone shows them how to gamble online and have easy money, then that is the start of their gambling journey, imho.

6344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC on ESPN 1: Ngannou vs Velasquez Prediction and Info Thread on: February 12, 2019, 07:54:24 AM
Agreed that Cain is the best heavyweight, however he has been out of the octagon for 2 years. How would we know that he would be the same Cain Velasquez? Also, he has been suffering with reoccuring injuries in all of his career in the UFC.

That is correct, he used to be the best heavyweight, but injuries has taken its toll on his body and I think it's more of a mental game for Cain here. Perhaps he has healed already physically, but I'm sure there are lot of questions and doubts on his mind prior to the fight.

But as fans we wanted him to return and reclaim the belt, but I seriously doubt that after being out for two years, he will still be the same Cain Velasquez that we used to know.
6345  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: First hand examples of Emotional trading on: February 12, 2019, 07:43:39 AM
What are some examples of when emotions mess up your trades?

Here are some trades that goes wrong because of myself being emotional:

- I already made 50% last 3 days, I didn't sell and thinking that the price could still go up, next thing happened it goes down again

- I didn't listen to my gut feeling, did not invest then the price goes to the moon

- I listen to someone shilling for a certain token and since he is a friend of mind, I put big amount of money, now I'm still down and the coins never goes up
6346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Received 0.00000546 BTC in your Wallet | Bitcoin Attack on: February 12, 2019, 07:33:02 AM
The article says,

Quote
If you received 0.00000546 BTC in your wallet then beware from such transfer, Scammer does this in order to track your identity and then ask you money for not revealing your identity.

How can hackers track my identity using a small transaction? Can someone knowledgeable explain this? Looking at the nature of the attack, it looks very similar to the ransomware attack we faced earlier. If that is the case, only tax evading big bitcoin hoarders should be worried.

Exactly my thoughts, how can they steal your identify?

And as far as I know, if you received dust amount, and it came from a tainted bitcoin, and if authorities is following it and have tracked it to let's say your exchange address, it may put your account at risk. That's the only thing I can think of right now that might negatively impact on everyone who has received it, otherwise I will welcome anything free in my wallet.  Grin
6347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The biggest ICO in the history: Dragon on: February 11, 2019, 01:55:40 PM
I'm not aware of this so called Dragon Project. We are in the bear market but so it's extremely hard to raised that needed $$$ in this worsening conditions, but it's amazing if they did actually.

How much is the softcap/hardcap target though? I'm just curious. Again, the price plummeting has something to do with bounty hunters dumping it, sad to burst the bubble. There are also cases that lots of ico's have raised so much money but end up going down as well, so I'm not surprised by this news.

6348  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much Bitcoin to accumulate now to be financially set after the next boom? on: February 11, 2019, 12:26:03 PM
In the country where I lived in, and if the next bull run the price of bitcoin reaches around <$30k per pop, I would say that 5 bitcoin will be a good amount to accumulate between today and the next bull run and I could say that I will be financially stable in the next couple of years.

But if you're staying in a first world country, I doubt that 5 bitcoin will be enough for you to survived in the next years or so. Probably you need 50 bitcoin or more, imho.
6349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Walk of Shame on: February 11, 2019, 12:15:41 PM
Yep I did it several times, but I don't have any kids or wife. At this time I just remember how many times I won and how many times lost, after that I understand that I won much often, so I'm getting better.
I think that is because of your inability to control yourself, all players will experience it if they have no control and get out of their
plans. the worst you will spend all your money at the casino, and go out with shame

If you spent all of your money in casino and lost of it, then you will not only feel shame in front of your wife and family but also it will be troublesome for you too as your money is lost and now how will you meet your daily expenses. In extreme cases, you have to take loan and it will further make your life tough.

I guess that he will have some conversation with his family and even the bad words will come out because he loses all of his money. That is what we will get if we are lost and we were telling to other people because not all people around us can accept for our lose and they can blame for what we've done. So maybe he can make a choice not to tells other people about his losses, but he doesn't need to play gambling again in the other days.

Again, I don't know if those people who are really addicted and have experienced the walk of shame has the willingness to tell their family what really happened. And I'm sure that you will hear every excuses in the book and will not admit that they have lost everything in a casino.

It's really hard to be addicted in gambling and unless you can control your emotions and will just play to have some fun, then you won't be experience this so called 'walk of shame'. It's hard and brutal and it is really painful to experience it.
6350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: February 11, 2019, 11:59:02 AM
Celtics lost another game when they were leading 20 points at one point, that is back to back for them.

Unfortunately, they are the new "choke" team.

On a period when raptors are getting stronger with trades and bucks are making good moves as well and Sixers are miles ahead of everything getting amazing players during trade deadline, Celtics really dropped to 4th favorites now.

It also shows that the East is making every move to be very competitive in their division and obviously the wanted to challenge GSW and the rest of the West powerhouse.

They were the conference finalists last year without Kyrie and Gordon and now with them they are not even the favorites which shows how much NBA can change in just couple months. I think seeing how they play right now and how all other east teams play I think its easy to imagine Sixers could be the finalists this year.

Probably just a case of bad luck. Kyrie is really pushing his body in the last 10 games or so and wanted to bring Celtics to the next levels. But other teams are going very competitive as well. And in just a couple of months they are one of the favorites and now Bucks, Sixers and Toronto are fighting or the top seed. Hope though that Boston and Kyrie will not choke when the play-off starts and this is where the team elevate their game so lets see.
6351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positivity is necessary in the cryptocurrency space on: February 10, 2019, 04:54:08 AM
The cryptocurrency space is faced with price volatility and most persons have been caught up with the bearish trend of the market.

And up to now we're still in the bearish zone, sad to say.

We never expected the bearish trend to last for this long, but we have little or nothing to do about the issue.

Well, you can take this opportunity to accumulate if you believe in bitcoin and the rest of the cryptosphere.

Atimes, it feels like liquidating your portfolio and walking away from the frustration the market has left us, but that's not a good idea. One needs to be strong physically, emotionally and financially to cope with the pressure of the market. It's best to hold on for the bull run is near, let's be positive and don't fall victim of our rash decision. Don't give up yet.

That's why it's been said that being a crypto investors requires a lot of patience and mental toughness. And this is not a sprint, this is a marathon, and the longer you stay the higher chances of you crossing the line and be the winner.
6352  Economy / Speculation / Re: new bullish run on: February 10, 2019, 04:44:11 AM
I know this moment, I see prices going up after news about ETF is in online media. I read it and it was good news and made the price go up right away. hopefully tomorrow's ETF results will be accepted and prices will rise again

I suggest don't put too much emphasize on ETFs though, it's been tiring waiting for the supposedly 'eventual' news. If it will come, then let it be. But I wouldn't wait for it, will continue to take advantage of every dip to buy and not wait till FOMO gets in.

However, I will echo most of the sentiments here, I will not say this is a bull run. It's just another FOMO that will slowly die down in the next couple of days, sorry to burst the bubble. I'm a perma bull, but I don't see this spike to be a bull run.
6353  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How long do you think this BEAR MARKET will LAST? on: February 10, 2019, 04:30:20 AM
Can last as long as the whales want it to. The fate of the market is no longer in the hard of regular traders.
Just buy low and sell high Instead of waiting for a bull run,

Whales can't manipulate the market anymore and their influence is not that strong on the current market. And besides, cryptopia that made an exit scam will be followed by other small exchanges because of the long bear market.

Maybe it's not the whales, but speculators who uses trading bot to their advantage. You can just set it to sell when the price reaches a certain point, and I believed that this is what's happening right now. Lots of speculators are shorting bitcoin, that's why when we're about to make a rally, the price will suddenly slid back because of shorting.

So with that said, I'm not expecting a bull run this quarter and it will continue to trade at sideways with no clear indication as to where the market price will go.
6354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CloudBet allegedly defrauding customer for 330.58 Bitcoins? on: February 10, 2019, 04:12:10 AM
Well I was surprised to read the accusations against them but it seems they're not responding so I guess they're already lost the trust of this community.

They started to be very good online gambling sites, but those two accusations against them and without responding whatsoever has created a lot damage on their reputation that is hard to get back because we all know that gamblers won't just forgot those issues and would go on and used other online services.
6355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF Available Eventually on: February 10, 2019, 03:59:15 AM
After a long time, ETF will be soon to be approve! but i hope this will continue and there will be no problem again like before.
This will boost the demand from the market and finally bitcoin can touch the 10,000 USD in just a short time.
The ETF will does help the market but it wont the only major reason for the market to reach $10,000 because the market has cliched the price range of $20,000 without the help of the ETF. However, the ETF approval will take longer than your presumption because some governments/bankers still dont like the idea of bitcoin.

It was a different scenario then, the price reached $20k because of the CBoE and CME Bitcoin future contracts.

Hahaha...let's not get so happy with this information guys. it did not say that the Bitcoin ETF would be approved but rather there is a possibility. And just as there is the possibility of its approval there is also a chance of it being declined again. But i am very optimistic that when this is finally approved there is going to some rise in the crypto market.

Yes, that's why I don't know why the big fuss about this news. It's a open statement, and people already assumed that it will be approved. I guess I'm too tired of this s**t that I don't even care, of course it has a net positive effect, but we can't measure it at this time.
6356  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lesson from the prolonged bear market on: February 09, 2019, 11:21:44 AM
When everyone around me was buying I should have prepared to sell.
Buy back at the bottom.
That has been the way wise traders trade!  If you want to invest and make money you are to be selling when others are buying and buying when others are selling.  That is one of the greatest lessons I have learned from 2018.

Though it's not that easy to go against the trend since there are also times when it'll produce good results. For me the takeaway is that regardless of what's happening to the market or whatever the trend is, make sure you studied and prepared for what you're going to get yourself into. Most of those that got rekt just jumped into the hype of 2017.

I'm sure those who got REKT has learn a valuable lessons here. We have seen the bullish trend already, and now this bear market is something new to everyone and those who still thinks that the market can bounce back soon is very wrong and got REKT along the way.

Of course we really need to be prepared because that's what makes the difference here. If you continue to trade with emotions they sooner or later you will be REKT. But if you study and prepared and learn some valuables lesson then, I'm sure there will be a time that you can win in this market.
6357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There are so many cryptocurrencies in the market, what do they do? on: February 09, 2019, 11:08:10 AM
I have a lot of questions about the cryptocurrency market. What is the role of so many cryptocurrencies?I feel that there is no other use besides hype.

Yep, majority of them are useless tokens and is design to create hype and pump-and-dump to make more money for the whales and manipulators. So it's obvious that those coins will just die or lost to oblivion.

On the other hand, there are coins as well that offer real life usage, and enjoy the support of most crypto enthusiast. Tit-for-tat.
6358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounty campaign is becoming absolutely useless. on: February 09, 2019, 10:56:22 AM
^^ Exactly. I really don't know when the bounty started with all this social media campaigns because I just know that signature campaigns was one of the most effective tools to market a project.

But it seems you really proves that bounty hunters doesn't have any significant effect to the campaigns and probably 90% are really cheating, using multiple accounts etc. And the OP exposed how the scam actual works so I don't know if ICO or projects can read this board but this should be a eye opener for them.
6359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: February 09, 2019, 10:35:46 AM
The Greek Freak mad again an amazing performance in the Bucks win against Mavericks. Antetokounmpo played like the real MVP of the team and his stats were very very impressive. I think that after Mirotic signing, the Bucks can now challenge the NBA title. After all this amazing performance that Giannis has done this season, he deserves a ring.

I agree. His name should be in the contention for this year's MVP. The scary part is that he is not even at his prime yet, but he has done so far that he could be a candidate for the MVP. I even read some article that even the great Dirk is impressed with Giannis transformation.

I'm sure they will be the top seed in the East, so it's going to be compelling how he is going to perform come playoff time.
6360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: For those bounty hunters who can hardly relate on: February 08, 2019, 01:35:33 PM
Yes, this is very true and I can relate to it. In conclusion, all our hard work its gone specially if you think that you have a lot of stakes and the price should be as close at the ICO price mentioned before you joining.

But sadly, it's useless, no value at all and all your hard work and waiting went off the window. Right now this is the sad state of most bounty hunters, that's why I decided to quit bounty hunting for now.
