6361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people bought Bitcoin because of you? on: July 03, 2019, 05:08:25 AM
I don't tell people I own bitcoin now. Mostly for security reasons.

Back in 2013-2014 I told people because the price was low and I figured they wouldn't listen anyways. So after the price broke $10K a year back I had people asking whether they should invest or not.

I told them to wait until price was lower and buy then. They either didn't listen and bought at the top or when it hit $3K they didn't buy because the excitement was gone.

Better not to tell people about investing in Bitcoin. Most will go full 100x leverage on Bitmex and get rekt and then they will blame you for their loss.
6362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][$MUSIC] Musicoin Blockchain Upgrades to V3.0(“Quantitative Tightening 🎸 on: July 03, 2019, 05:05:40 AM
There are three exchanges that we should approach regarding listing MUSIC.

1. stex.com ($20M 24/h vol)
2. tradeogre.com ($199.5k 24/h vol)
3. exrates.me ($98M 24/h vol)

Stex probably has the best functionality, with Trade Ogre a close second.

MUSIC has had over $1.5k 24/h vol for the past few months, still has an active development team, and is by far the best developed music application operating on the blockchain at the moment. It won't take much to list on these exchanges.

The exchanges are reliable and of sufficient volumetric sizes to keep the MUSIC project going until mass adoption, where the MUSIC app and its adoption by musicians and listeners will increase.

Yes I agree with stex and tradeogre, they shouldn't have an issue getting it listed there.

Since the block explorer is down I don't know which block we are on, but there is a hard-fork coming up and it would be best if they applied for a listing there right after the fork, it will make this easier, especially if there are issues with the fork.

I still believe in this project. Waiting for the difficulty to go lower so I can mine it again.
6363  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 BITSLER.com 🔥 CASHBACK 🌟 NEW LEVELS 🌟 NEW RANKS🌟 CHEST PRIZES OF $35,000 💰 on: July 02, 2019, 09:40:46 PM
This is why its best not to gamble on a mobile device, there are many issues and on a laptop and desktop its best.
The only problem that I encounter when using a mobile device when playing at any online casino is sometimes its lagging other than that it works fine specially if you are using high end phones that is built for gaming. I also tried using Brave browser recently and it works fine with me and I think its much better than using Chrome on my mobile device.

Basically gambling using mobile devices is OK as long as we are gambling carefully, we need to make sure everything we type is correct before clicking any buttons especially bet button or anything related to our balance especially when we are going to deposit or withdraw. Indeed, it is more recommended to use desktop for better experience. Using mobile devices is recommended for those who gamble for fun only on their spare time while working or while doing other activities. So far I have no issues while accessing bitsler on mobile browser, but still I prefer to use desktop.

Me either last time. But with movile version, I can't do much about the autobot, it seems like hard to use any strategy. I recommend to use mobile version when you guys want to play for some period of time. May be like aim for profit by martingale it on every bet you make until it hits. For a long term that most people do by using autobot is never recommend. But overall everything is cool when you can go through mobile

Extra caution is needed when we want to play with our mobile devices, especially devices with touch screen features. Swiping the screen, especially when we want to do an auto roll, can accidentally change the settings we have made. And because the screen is relatively smaller, we may forget the parameters we should change before hit the roll button. I have some bad experiences with mobile devices tho  Grin

I agree. I only gamble on my iPhone with a small balance, basically do it if I am in the waiting room at the doctors and want the time to pass by faster.

However I had issues with mobile. I remember a few years back, I went to a gambling site, didn't make an username/password/email due to laziness and made a deposit and then my phone was lost and couldn't get that account back.

Another issue is that its easier to control a mouse and a keyboard rather than type and move around in a touchscreen. It wouldn't be so bad if it's on a larger device like an iPad because the screen is larger but on a iPhone 5S it's very difficult to navigate.

I understand that times are changing and people are moving away from desktops/laptops but there are certain things that should be done on a proper computer if gambling with large balances. Same with trading Cryptos, I generally only check the price on my phone but I usually only enter/exit trades on an actual computer. Due to phone hacks and other issues that can come up like public wifi being unsafe.
6364  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🎲MyDogeDice.com🔥🎲 | Free Dogecoin💰 | Dice Game🎲 on: July 02, 2019, 07:51:44 PM
Bonus new users +10 doge Cool
+ bonus deposit 10%
02.07.2019 - 09.07.2019..BTC
BTC

You should state the rules to get the 10% deposit bonus. Most sites usually have a high rollover to be able to withdraw that amount.

I suggest that instead of deposit bonuses you should work and get your site design UI improved and also at the very least try and prove solvency by posting a DOGE or BTC wallet with the available bankroll funds.

This is a must for most new sites because usually the bankroll is very small with new sites and usually if someone is lucky and has a big win they can cause insolvency for the rest of the users and lead to withdraw issues.

6365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: July 02, 2019, 07:11:52 PM
My understanding is there is a bit of a trade off here.

When there is no spend transaction the search method is:

Next Private Key -> Public Key -> Hash -> Bitcoin Address -> Compare Bitcoin Address, repeat until found

Note that due to the hashing functions used the Bitcoin Address is expected within a private key range of only 2160

When there is a spend transaction the search method is:

Next Private Key -> Public Key -> Compare Public Key, repeat until found

Note that the private key range in this case is the full 2256 but there are ways to speed up the process

So, I think full entropy 256 bit private keys are still safe even with multiple spend transactions, but they may be less safe than a 160 bit Bitcoin address from a full entropy 256 bit private key with no spend transactions.

Even better yet is a longer full 256 bit Bitcoin address based on a full entropy 256 bit private key with no spend transactions.

I understand but why can't a HBM2 16GB GPU do this faster than a system with a fast CPU + loads of system RAM.

I am not too technical on the details here but I understand that if you know the private key you can easily compute the public key, but not the other way around.

So since the search space is small, basically most of the private key starts with 0's then you can easily start a range at the small private keys basically something like " 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001A838B13505B26867 "

So the GPU would take that and increment it and compute the public key very fast and just compare it to the public key with the funds inside it.

6366  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where will the price stop ? on: July 02, 2019, 06:42:22 AM
I think this panic and break of $10K was mostly due to the huge 20K BTC claim that happened on Bitfinex. For those unaware on June 30th, all of a sudden the amount of shorts went down from 30K to 10K which means that someone covered 20K shorts. At the time it was worth about $11000, so about $220,000,000 or so. It had no effect on price because the trader just "claimed" his position and didn't need to buy it on the market.

Its hard to tell exactly when he shorted but he most likely did it because he wanted to sell 20K worth of BTC and if he sold it by sending the entire 20K to Bitfinex then the alarms would go off and people might panic, so he just slowly sold by short hedging and in the process didn't affect price too much.

Now his position is closed and he is already in profit.
6367  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: July 02, 2019, 06:26:50 AM
I used to be a regular in this thread. I actually used vanitygen on my R9 280X to try and solve the #54 or #55 key a few years back before someone beat me to it. I only got like 20 MH/s with my 280X while the Nvidia's with Bitcrack got multiples of that and I just gave up.

Anyways regarding the dangers of reusing BTC addresses. I know you shouldn't reuse BTC addresses ever. However why do many exchanges like Bitfinex and Binanace reuse their addresses.

It seems that since these private keys have a low entropy its possible to solve quick with enough RAM as long as the public key is shown. However would this even be possible if the private key is actually completely random and has high entropy. You would need Terabytes and Terabytes of RAM which is not possible these days.
6368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto holds 980,000 Bitcoins.. does anyone know their addresses? on: July 02, 2019, 06:02:07 AM

Craig Wright claims to be Satoshi, and a Florida court has ordered him to list all of the addresses with his bitcoin.

Apparently he burst into tears in court because he couldn't provide the addresses. What a wuss!! It's time he was locked up to stop him trying to mess up Bitcoin.

Your saying it isn't possible for Satoshi to lose his usb drives? Smiley Grin

I'm certain those 1 million bitcoins will be moved someday, whether Satoshi has them or he passed them on to someone else.

The only people who lose their hard drives or USB keys are novice computer people. Its something that would happen maybe to my wife or my dad on the computer.

Most saavy computer people, especially a highly skilled programmer like Satoshi, always keep backups and they probably got some full-proof RAID setup incase one hard drive fails.

He didn't lose the keys. He either destroyed them on purpose or he maybe had some unexpected death and its the reason why he never spent them. Or maybe he is alive and well and just spending the newest mined bitcoins not to attract attention.
6369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: July 02, 2019, 05:57:57 AM

Yes this was actually introduced during the conference back in May. From what I recall it added fire to the already crazy bull-run we had back in May.

Good that you posted this because at the time, the app was only available to reporters and other testing personnel.  But right now it looks like you can actually use it if you got a iPhone.

Reading the reviews on the app store, they are mostly mixed. Basically people either rate it a 5 or a 1. Will download it and see if its any good and hopefully won't be any issues while trying to actually use it to pay.
6370  Economy / Gambling / Re: Saikoro | #1 Bitcoin Dice Roulette 🎲 on: July 02, 2019, 05:44:05 AM
I checked this site out and was surprised that it looks pretty decent. A few things in your main post where you have the url "http://...." change it to "https://..." so it goes to the SSL.

I've tried it out on mobile and was pretty easy to navigate. However it took me a while to find the faucet first, maybe make a direct link somewhere to the faucet. Basically for anyone that can't find it on mobile, just tap on your balance and click the 3rd button from the left, basically the hand holding the BTC.

Also I don't know if this was intentional or not but when you tap "PLAY!" you see the 3 dice rotating and it takes like 5 seconds to get the bet to actually process. Its fine at first but after a few hundreds of bets people won't like the delay, maybe make the delay 1 second instead to prevent any bots.

Either way good luck.
6371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buy btc with cash on: July 01, 2019, 07:50:50 AM
I remember years ago before Bitcoin ATMs and before Bitcoin exchanges like Coinbase the only way to buy and sell BTC was locally.

The issue I had was that even though fees were very low, and you only had to include a 10000 Satoshi fee which was like 5 cents back then. There was no gaurantee that the next block would be found in the next 10 minutes.

There was one time where I had to wait almost 2 hours for a transaction to confirm just once before me and the buyer/seller could part ways. It wasn't a back log or anything it was just luck where prior to the meet blocks were found quicker and then after the meet the blocks took longer to find.

This is the only issue you might encounter, but 1 confirmation is enough as long as you are trading BTC and not some coins with less hashpower and might be prone to 51% attacks, but even those are rare these days to happen. So you should be safe.
6372  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chart - Comparison - Very similar on: July 01, 2019, 07:45:03 AM
The charts might look similar but I can show you hundreds of stock charts which look similiar and half of those will be parabolic runners and the others might trade sideways or even go down. So its not good to compare just the charts.

Look at the Google trends for "BITCOIN" search term,
https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?date=today%205-y&q=bitcoin

We are nowhere near the 2017 high, even though its the highest high of the last year. So for Bitcoin to go to $100,000 according to your chart there needs to be enough buyers to bring us to that number. I don't think we are there yet.
6373  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coins have successfully changed their mining algorithm? on: July 01, 2019, 07:39:19 AM
There are many coins which have in the past.

The most popular and recent one I can think of is Monero. They basically use the Cryptonite algo and due to the threat of ASICs and FGPA they had to fork to a slightly different algo about 2-3 times already. First it was the original Cryptonite algo, then Cryptonite V7, Cryptonite V8, and now its Cryptonite R. And from what I read they will change this algo every 6 months or so to defeat ASICS.

There are some smaller coins like Bitcoin Gold which switched from Equihash to a different variant of Equihash to make it mineable with GPUs but not with the ASICS which are all over ZEC.
6374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I Bought 150+ GPUs for Ethereum mining. Think I'm Insane? on: July 01, 2019, 05:58:53 AM

And there is that thing to resell the crap of it if you dont want to mine anymore, reselling old hardware is hard and not worth these days, sometimes is even better to throw away in the garbage. It saves a lot of time.

https://etherscan.io/chart/difficulty

You would be surprised but computer equipment actually sells pretty well. I've sold most of mine on Craiglists at asking price and if that didn't work there was also eBay as an option.

GPUs like the RX 470/570 are not considered old. A R9 280X is considered old but I had no trouble selling them in the last 12 months. Yes they are power hogs and ancient but AMD still makes drivers for them and they are great for Crossfire.

So in a couple years or so, the RX 470 will still be worth something. Never worth it throwing away in the garbage. Throwing away in the garbage is maybe worth it if the GPU is damaged and not worth the time to repair it.
6375  Economy / Gambling / Re: Trust/ Flag of casino/dice sites' owners on: July 01, 2019, 05:51:06 AM
Found a small typo for Safedice. I looked under Owner year registered and it says 2018 but that owner has been registered with Bitcointalk since 2014.

You might of been confused because in 2018 there were 2 new accounts made which started to reply to some posts in the Safedice thread and they seemed like staff. One was called "SDupdate" and they only made 1 post but they commented on how the site is undergoing maintenance and the other was by "SDMod" which was slightly more active but only made around 28 posts.

Some say they believe that the accounts were fake made by scammers to fish people's username and password when they PM them asking for help. Because it was really odd why all of a sudden the SD admin started to post from a new account instead of his original account.
6376  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥🎲MyDogeDice.com🔥🎲 | Free Dogecoin💰 | Dice Game🎲 on: July 01, 2019, 05:15:33 AM
You need to realise that most people in Crypto take scams and frauds very seriously. There are many scams going around that people need to be informed of potential scams.

There are 3 issues I see here.

First one is that you had some HYIP where a user generated 0.9%/day and 27% month. This is always a red flag because it sounds like a ponzi scheme. Kind of like Bitcoinconnect and right now mining is not really that profitable as it was before and hence 0.9%/day is just not possible.

Second issue is that your dice is not provably fair, almost every site out there is provably fair but yours isn't so why would someone gamble on your site instead of other larger dice sites? Doesn't make sense.

Third issue is that you created a new thread, you can't just create a new thread when people start posting information that you dislike. Need to fix the issues first and continue on with your original thread.
my topic is deleted as you do not understand?
Mining site closed!

Even though you have closed the mining/ponzi investment from your site, it wont affect anything. User's first impression about your site is bad already, no one will fall into your non provavbly fair dice game. Even worst, your site does not look good, it does not worth to try even if you offer free doge to try your site. You really need to work harder if you want to own a gambling site.

Fairness for any gambling site is a must. Without that vital feature, users will always have hesitations to use your site. And since you are just starting your gambling business, better improve the aesthetic appearance of your site. Your current interface is not appealing at all! Owning a gambling site is not just creating the site itself, there are other legal attachments to it if you want to pursue the legal route. I doubt you will traverse that route anytime soon.

I don't think he will correct any of the issues as suggested. I doubt he will hire some UI graphic designer. Unless he has some experience, it would be expensive from the ground up to hire someone to do a full redesign of the website and UI features.

Basically Bitcoin and Crypto in general is booming and everybody is trying to profit from it. The OP probably doesn't want to invest too much time and money into this in case it doesn't work out. This is how it was in 2017/2018 with many ICOs. Many people saw how successful they were with little to no work and they wanted to profit off it. This idea is no different.
6377  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why was $13,800 unsustainable? on: June 30, 2019, 05:44:59 AM
It can still break the $13800 area. The reason why it took such a hard fall was because it was almost up 20% in less than 24 hours and it had over 1 billion of open positions which were mostly high leverage.

When the sell-off started, there were tons of liquidations and towards the end I think $200-$250 million of open interest was evaporated, probably a world record for BTC.

Basically too many people were too bullish and didn't think a 35% pullback was possible and got rekt. It happened many times in the past, especially with Bitcoin.
6378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Number 9! Ninth altcoin thread. Back to the moon Baby! on: June 30, 2019, 05:40:51 AM
open air for me too.

GPUs are zip tied to racks.

the room is the case and the windows are the exhaust.

Started my GPU farms like the above in 2016 and never looked back - ease of maintenance is the key.

Dust is the only pitfall though - I gave up on this long time ago and most of my 470/480 rigs still running at peak non-stop eventhough they are bloody dusty and grimy.

Well ..... as long as critical parts still works fine like fans for PSU, GPU and CPU - will just leave them alone. All of them are well ROIed several times over, so just leave them alone.

ease of maintenance you say?

how about real time (powered on and mining) pulling off slow spin/not spinning GPU fans and re oiling-plugging back in fans? hehe

no need to keep the area squeaky clean, for me i'm just making sure dust build up does not come close to possible "harmful" level to electronics----> i just come inside the room semi naked with face mask and a blower.. blowing the dust that accumulated in the electronics  (all powered on and mining) Grin

Most of the Gigabyte RX470s fans died premature death - I had to replace several dozens of them. The Sapphire ones are very good and lasts longer - most still running since 2016. The motherboards (circa 2016/17 ASrock Pro BTC) are beyond recognition - the dust and grime probably evolved into a protection layer for the electronics thus still running until today. I should take a pics next time - we should start a most "dirtiest GPU warrior rig" pix contest.

In all the years that I was mining. I've never had a motherboard, CPU, or RAM ever fail on me.

The parts which have the highest failure rate are the GPU fans, then maybe the GPUs itself, then the Risers, then the PSUs, then the harddrives.

The most reliable GPUs I've had were the cheap and loud Reference GPUs from all generations. Don't think I've ever had one fail.
The most reliable PSU was probably the cheap $40 Corsair 750CW. Had tons of those and suprisingly it never failed while my Gold rated 1600W did fail. Ironic.
6379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it fair to compare miners to shareholders in the currency? on: June 30, 2019, 05:35:35 AM
This question is hard to give a correct answer to.

Basically a currency doesn't really have shareholders. Usually shareholders hold shares to companies that produce a profit, a currency is not that. However Bitcoin is a very volatile currency which increases its value compared to the US dollar, so you can say its like a stock per say.

So in that case, every miner which mines a specific currency, earns a small % of that currency as a miner reward, so they in fact are holders of that currency.

However these days, most of the larger holders of BTC are not miners but early adopters which held their coins like Satoshi or the Gemini owner's.
6380  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][$MUSIC] Musicoin Blockchain Upgrades to V3.0(“Quantitative Tightening 🎸 on: June 30, 2019, 05:31:45 AM
Looks like we are about to go to 5 sats or so with MUSIC.

Its pretty sad how badly this coin has performed since last January 2018. I never would of assumed it would hit 10 sats even, we are currently at 6 satoshis and looking at the order book there aren't that many bids in total. Basically less than 2 BTC worth of bids. The ask side on the other hand is pretty thick.

I don't know if we will be able to recover if we ever hit 1 satoshi, coins that go in that area usually end up being delisted and dead a few months later.

Hopefully MUSIC can survive that.

i do not understand this is so great a project.
But why the coin price is so crap ?
How the team is working on this ?
Is it be gave up ?

Bittrex will remove Music from its market. That's why.
https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360029727892-Pending-Market-Removals-7-12-2019

No when I posted that message it was before the delisting notice. After the delisting notice it took a huge dive and hit the 2 Satoshi mark.

Honestly at 1 or 2 satoshi's its very difficult for coins to survive, especially when they have no active market. If Cryptopia was still around they would have a listing there but with Bittrex being the last active exchange it has no market.

I will probably mine it as a low risk/very high reward compared to ETH mining. If the development continues then I think the coin should go up in value if it finds a new exchange.

I still belive in this project.
