6361  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Use of Bitcoins for Musicians? on: November 12, 2018, 07:41:48 PM
I really do not see why bitcoins can't or should not be used to pay musicians, considering they accept payments in as many Fiat currencies as possible, then the bitcoin should be an option for those who wish to be paid in it..
As always it'll be down to the artists preference on modes of payment
6362  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which forum sections allow ICO advertising? on: November 12, 2018, 07:34:00 PM
I think the appropriate section to advertise your ICO project would be the marketplace (Altcoin) board, its a child board to the Altcoin discussion section

6363  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 250K in 2022? on: November 12, 2018, 05:31:54 PM
Don't forget that so many also predicted that the bitcoin's price would be around 250usd as of this time, but you and I know it it's not..

That simply tells us that you cannot predict the market,no matter how hard you try with all the emotions and optimism,it really counts for nothing

The fact still remains that no one knows what bitcoins price will be by 2022,not you,not I and definitely not draper
6364  Other / Meta / Re: I've started 16 threads. on: November 12, 2018, 02:48:58 PM
I normally post on the serious discussion board when I'm not on a signature campaign, and I found out that in there discussions are really sparce and scarse, you hardly find a topic with more than 10 replies, and it's surprising considering thats the board you get to avoid newbies, spammers etc, that we all really complain about..

I can't really say anything about the ivory tower board,i am miles and miles away from ever posting on it
6365  Other / Meta / Re: What are the forum Administrators doing about Scam projects (Bounties) on: November 12, 2018, 05:58:37 AM
It is not the duty of the forum, its administrator nor moderators to protect users from scam projects..

It's your duty to protect yourself from them
6366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO founders out there, You are the reasons our market have a bad reputation. on: November 11, 2018, 09:14:46 PM
Scammers are everywhere in the system, and it's not simply synonymous to ICO founders, most users are Scammed on telegram, through PM's etc..
Though ICO projects also contributes it's own fair share of scam, hence bad reputation for the system...

But the thing is there's nothing we can really do about the scammers, than protect ourselves, and as for the bad reputation,we have been on that from the inception of the bitcoin, its nothing new..
6367  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best online wallet for bitcoin? on: November 11, 2018, 08:58:15 PM
The only wallet I really can advice you use is the hardware wallet, and I stand to be corrected, but I think it's the safest..

It protects you and your coins from hacks as well as prying malwares that are used to infiltrate your system, cause a breakdown and provide the hacker with private information..

It thus protects you by storing all your informations offline..
6368  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why I haven't merited some 0 merit members on: November 11, 2018, 08:47:30 PM
While this idea may appear strict to some,i think it sure doesn't make sure merits aren't given to shitposting plagiarist, and in the end such merits gets wasted/burnt when eventually they are caught for their offense..

I actually admire the strict measures you've taken to sort out the weeds from the crops, and merit only those who have the system at heart and are willing to learn and rank up the right way...

And going by the way you're writing users we can at least be 75% sure as regards their post history that they wouldn't become bounty campaigns spambies when they get to Jr member rank and above
6369  Other / Meta / Re: Analysis – Sender’s Merit Network – How does it evolve? on: November 11, 2018, 07:04:57 PM
Ddmr Ddmr makes earning merits on the forum look quite easy IMO,hardly bashes newbies, never posts off topic, always ready to help out and assist noobs in one way or the other, but hardly gives out merits though Grin

Coming up with a post such as this takes time and strength,i really admire what you come up with mate..
Keep it up
6370  Other / Meta / Re: Old topics not discussed on: November 11, 2018, 06:56:58 PM
You're correct that many threads on the forum needs to be locked, and this very thread is actually one of them..
You've just brought a report of users who's threads are inactive, but not locked, but didn't put forward any means by which we should combat such..
And considering it's not against the rules to leave threads unlocked,i do not see what you're suggesting here, the forum needs to encourage users to lock up their threads when discussions come to an end,but most users aren't here for the betterment of the forum, they simply create threads that births spam upon spam, without really caring...

Most of those treads really are inactive, but a majority of them surely would be useful to some, even though the discussions are going slowly, its far better than page upon page of the same generic replies
6371  Other / Meta / Re: I've been looking at the posters in some old threads on: November 11, 2018, 06:49:44 PM
I really do not see how this idea could be implemented, this forum is the biggest bitcoin community in the world and any user who has deserted the forum for any reason whatsoever doesn't need to be convinced to return..

There could be reasons why a poster hasn't been posting since "2016",it's either the account has been hacked, the user lost interest in the bitcoin or probably the user is dead..
How do we get such users back based on the aforementioned...

This forum is also surrounded by more than enough quality posters who contribute immensely to the development of the forum, thats not to say we do not have shitposters/plagiarists/copy/pasters who infiltrate the forum with low quality..
But the quality posters we sure do have are more than enough,we do not need to convince anyone to return
6372  Other / Meta / Re: Is the new ERA of merit dying again? on: November 10, 2018, 11:02:32 PM
but now with so many sources why we have a very low circulation of merit?
Merit giving most times vary(in percentage),due to the state of the forum at that very particular time, like for example, the case you mentioned about more merits being given during the period of the enhanced newbie restrictions..
The restrictions seemed to spur noobs on to make quality stuff on the forum, and the resultant effects of that was more and more merits, and with an obvious increase in sources at that particular period, coupled with an increased willingness of high rankees to hand out merits to noobs who were at least putting up an effort
Hence it lead to an increase in the merit giving process...
I understand that Legendary can probably write more quality threads but I think the overcap merit is almost trashed merit since they don't need it. Don't you think is better to use it on Newbie-Hero Members?
This isn't correct, not all legendary members are really quite more knowledgeable, though a larger percentage are, most legendaries are simply on that rank based on longevity on the forum(which is also an achievement in itself)
You can't really call a merit being handed to a legendary as unnecessary, and they actually do need it for quite some reasons
Firstly forget about ranking up or anything of that sort, merits are acknowledgement for quality posting,or helpful assistance, every user wants his or her posts to fall under such categories irrespective of ranks..
Also such high ranked members need more merits inorder to generate Smerits,so they'll be able to acknowledge someone else's post for it's quality by meriting it(hence contributing their own quota to the development of the forum)
Also high rankees need merits to boost their earned merits, which is obviously a boost to their ego as opposed to air dropped ones..

6373  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to choose a good project for investment? on: November 10, 2018, 05:10:58 AM
I would choose projects that list on exchange rather than ICOs because most ICOs are high risk. Choosing tokens that have list on exchange is safer.
Most ICO's get listed on exchanges, and never survive,at least not after the bounty hunters have dumped the shit owta most of them
It becomes so hard for the tokens to have any value whatsoever..
So you could still purchase tokens when they hit their various exchanges, but never be in line to make any profit..
As about 90% would definitely sell below their ICO price after few weeks and never recover..

It's always safer and better to invest in recognized coins like the bitcoin, ethereum etc
6374  Other / Meta / Re: Encouraging users to lock threads on: November 09, 2018, 09:30:04 PM
Not agree with that. All peoples are not making thread with question. There is lot of useful post made by same user, so why will they restrict to create new post
It only normal that when a user is about to make a sixth post after making five previous ones, answers to his/her questions on the previous five should have been provided or given..
And the restrictions are limited to certain users, refer back to the OP

but there are several members who have many useful topics on the go at once, and I dont think they should be limited.
IMO a user should not be all hasty to make posts on the forum, its not like it's bad,but that could lead to posting irrelevancies, and if the 5 initial posts happen to be small, we could make it 10,and definitely one should not have a problem locking erstwhile topics, considering the fact that they all should have come to a culminating end
.
Those accounts are offline most of the time. Those will never lock their threads.
Through this suggestion they never get to make another spam attractive thread until they've ended(locked) the previous ones
That would lead to a flood of posts in the meta board by users asking 'Why was my topic locked?'
The topics aren't going to be locked my our MODS, but by the original poster if they so wish to post something new on the forum...

6375  Other / Meta / Encouraging users to lock threads on: November 09, 2018, 08:34:47 PM
Most threads(new topics), are currently on their 12th,13th,30th etc pages and new replies keep popping up in such threads, bumbing them to the top pages of their various/respective sections..
There is actually no problem with a thread having longevity, the issue is when such threads have all come to a culminating end long ago,but some users(mostly to fulfil post count),keep commenting on such threads back and forth..
In most of those treads the OP could be long inactive or never return to them, but users keep providing answers to his/her questions

If only threads(redundant ones) could be locked as at when due(discussions come to a culminating end/basic conclusions),I think spam posts would reduce tremendously
So my postulation happens to be that when a user makes five posts(new topic), such user is restricted from beginning a new topic until the previous five have been locked...
But since not all threads with longevity are redundant as quality discussions still go on in them, such as this one's
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4799468.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3182178.0
And such threads are usually started by high rankees,we could keep the restrictions simply to newbie--Jrmember---member rank..
But since some users in the preceding reply will be of the opinion that"a shitposter is a shitposter irrespective of ranks"
We could limit it to users who haven't earned up to 50 merits(not/excluding air dropped merits)
6376  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be replace by ALTS in the future? on: November 09, 2018, 04:40:47 PM
There is a reason why any other coin other than the bitcoin is called Alternative coins, and it means they are there simply because of the bitcoin,or used when one cant get his or her hands on the bitcoin
At the moment I do not actually think there is any Altcoin that can light/hold a candle to the bitcoin..

Bitcoin definitely is the king of the crptocurrency world, higher value, higher price, higher volume, more stability and was the first cryptocurrency ever created...
We can't tell what will happen in the future, but rational wise, the bitcoin will always remain king
6377  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To all newbie who wants to increase their rank should follow a guy like Him on: November 09, 2018, 03:44:48 PM
It seemed to me that it was very difficult to obtain merit,
This is actually one of the reasons
sorry for english this is not my native language
You actually do not have to be absolutely good with the English language, but you at least have to be coherent to say the least..
No one can actually understand what being said by you without coherence in your speech..

@OP I really would not say nor advice other users to copy anothers style or posts, though the case study here has a wonderful track record on the forum and congratulations to him...
Everyone should go about earning merits on the forum his/her own way IMHO
6378  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To new users, What are you struggling to learn? on: November 09, 2018, 03:34:18 PM
The major newbie problem is lack of patience(get rich quick scheme), it's apparent that the cause of this is lack of proper orientation..
Most users were introduced to the forum by individuals who laid a poor foundation for them, and let them loose on a plaguing mission to spam the forum with 10 alt accounts all in the name of earning higher bucks from signature campaigns..

With the right orientation and proper training on the issue of patience, most noobs won't be finding it difficult to earn one elusive merit, thats is standing as a barrier right now to most of their initial ambitions....

It's basically a step by step process, and until one learns that, he/she will continue struggle on the forum, either to get merits,to complete weekly task(due to 0 knowledge),to contribute in quality discussions,to start up quality/eye catchy topics ETC
6379  Other / Meta / Re: „Self made” Full member thanks to Theymos? Not exactly, but in a sense… on: November 09, 2018, 04:25:47 AM
Your case is just further proof of the efficacy of the merit system, and the nonchalant attitude imbibed by the erstwhile(deranked)junior members prior to the enhanced newbie/jr member restriction(which obviously I'm part of such neglect)
When I was introduced by a friend,he practically gave me a basic tutoring, but never spoke about merits, I was only told to make 30posts and wait for a month and join a bounty, and I could do that on about 5 accounts...
Waking up to the news of the restrictions, and I was a bit confused, only then was I told by my tutor that something such as merit existed..

And it actually didn't take me too long to earn one, apparently without the enhanced merit system,i would not really have known about the merits, and how they help in incentivizing the forum
I may not be moving as fast as you are/did,but I believe I'm making progress(as I deviated from ever spamming the forum)

Congratulations @OP, you've done really well in such a short space of time, speedy trip on your journey to sr member rank.
6380  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Want to get Merits?? Read this!! on: November 08, 2018, 04:47:58 PM
Another "how to get merits" thread, it's rather becoming really redundant and unnecessary here on the forum...
Just engage in quality duscussions,i really thought that was the main reason of being on the forum in the first place

Definitely, with constant quality posting, you definitely would gain merits.
One doesn't have to read this long and unreadable thread before being able to earn a merit..
Kudos for the efforts put into it though
