Just for the sake of discussion, and going for the interpretation that many have made on this thread (1M$ in BTC, not 1M BTC), according to the article referenced down below, there are around 100K BTC addresses with a BTC equivalent greater or equal to 1M$. Of course this is all an n:m:[p] game (n addresses belong to m people - and are grouped behind p wallets), so there’s no way of telling how many people really have an equivalent of 1M$ in BTC, but it gives us a playing field play with. See: https://bitcoinmagazine.com/markets/bitcoin-wallets-with-more-than-1-millionThe article references the source of the image, which leads to a site where, at first sight, I can’t seem to find it. I’ve seen the same site referenced on another article with similar information, but still pointing to a chart which differs from that of the image.

If anyone wants to take a look at their (or others) average sMerit sending habits, they can get a glimpse here: Overall: https://public.tableau.com/profile/ddmrddmr#!/vizhome/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/PotentialMeritSources Restricted to 2021: https://public.tableau.com/shared/848DMMFCG?:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_linkSpecifically, the column “Avg. Merit TX” is the interesting one, although the complementary stdDevSentTx may be interesting to take a look at too (the higher this value is, the more variable the amount send in relation to the average). The list is not delimited to Merit Sources, but the top members on the list are bound to be. There are a bunch of people with an average in the 1s range, going all the way up to 5s (and beyond). For example, my average for the running 2021 is of 1,04, with a standard deviation of 0,2. So basically, I’m a regular (mean) 1 sMerit per Tx type of person. Additionally, the Sent TX summary (top right of the following screen) shows that I (Username is changeable) award 1 sMerit 89,92% of my sMerit TXs, 2sMerits 9,3%, and my max is that of 10 sMerits (0,04%): https://public.tableau.com/shared/QTY32FDHP?:display_count=y&:origin=viz_share_link

If you take a look at the dnstwister site, you’ll se a whole range of similarly named domains, some of which lead to Binance+ref, but others take you other sites without and explicit referral code (I’ve just tried a few, and one led to Kraken, while another to Localbitcoins), building up traffic perhaps. These are the results for Bitcointalk on dnstwister: https://dnstwister.report/search?ed=7777772e626974636f696e74616c6b2e6f7267

Ver: https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/fbi-issues-warning-after-man-almost-loses-9-999-to-bitcoin-scam

The thread’s heading is misleading here. The base article (on Coinbase’s blog by the way, which has its viewpoint implications) has "fact check" as a prefix to the rest of the title, and what the article goes on to do is to use that as a hypothesis and debunk it through data. Leaving the heading as is, will lead people to think that that is the core statement here, whilst it’s really the opposite. Coinbases’s complete heading ("FACT CHECK: Crypto is increasingly being used for criminal activity and is a haven for illicit finance") could be clearer, and is semi-clickbait really, waiting for the reader to read the result of the fact check exercise.

Bitbase se ha adentrado en el terreno de los préstamos, usando el cliente como colateral tus bitcoins u otra criptomoneda (de entre el conjunto que acepten). El usuario puede solicitar un préstamos en fiat, entre 500€ y 100k€, seleccionar el plazo de devolución (entre una semana y dos años), y parece que el pago de la devolución del préstamos se hace en cripto (no en fiat). Hay lógicamente un interés (1%/mes) y una comisión de apertura (3%). Luego hay todo un conjunto de reglas sobre como los colaterales van variando según su valor en relación al valor prestado, e incluso hay un ratio de liquidación del préstamo, lo cual liquida la garantía a partir del colateral. No sé qué tal acogida tendrá, y se trata de hacer números para el que le interese, pero los números son complicados de predecir en un entorno de volatilidad. I’ve had that happen a couple of times whislt writting a small sql query. If it’s small, and you really want to publish it as a post here, you can go by trial and error to see if you can detect the keyword/s or line/s that are making it display the Blocked message, and alter them slightly, adding a comment to what needs to be changed to make it work. For example, in the code that you showed in the image file, the keyword to change was onreadystatechange, which I’ve change to onready Ystatechange here (extra Y included): Var sochain = new XMLHttpRequest(); Var url2= "https://chain.so/api/v2/get_info/BTC"; Sochain.open("GET",url2); Sochain.responsetype('json');
Sochain.onreadyYstatechange= function() { If (this.readyState ==4 && this.status ==200) { Alert(sochain.response.data.network)} }, sochain.send();

Cryptocurrency activity is not a regulated activity in many states, including California. The value of Crypto Assets can be extremely volatile and unpredictable, which can result in significant losses in a short time. Buying and selling Crypto Assets is inherently risky, and you should consider the risks before deciding to buy or sell Crypto Assets, including those provided in our STATE DISCLOSURES section below.
