641  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your best HODL in this Red Zone? on: July 31, 2018, 10:18:07 PM
The best thing we can do now is holding BTC, all alts are falling against BTC. We can start accumulating some altcoins after BTC confirms its bullish trend, all traders are waiting for this signal in order to take new positions.
You are right mate, holding bitcoin for a long-term is a good decision and also may I suggest ethereum coin has also a potential in term of holding those coins will profitable. These coins now were on the top of coinsmarket cap so, no doubt on it if you intended to hold for a long run.
Yes.Having bitcoin and ethereum for a long term holding will really make us more profitable if we can see their prices already reaching their peaks.Although i've seen already a price increase for btc in a steady manner, hopefully the price for ethereum will make a huge increase too in the next months.
Ethereum seems to not be moving much and this is odd, most of the time the movements of ethereum followed the movements of bitcoin and right now we are seeing this is not the case, the most likely option is that some people have decided to diversify their investment in ethereum to other similar coins expecting greater profits and that is why the price of ethereum is not moving the way we think it should move.
642  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you trade Bitcoin to buy Altcoins? on: July 31, 2018, 10:09:50 PM
No, I won't, because I think it's a stupid idea. Bitcoin in this market is more stable than altcoins. Altcoins are now all flying down.
Trading your bitcoin for altcoins right now is a bad business, I do not see an scenario in which altcoins go up in the short term but there are a few scenarios in which bitcoin can go up in value in the short term, this is why I do not have any interest to buy altcoins or icos since the only direction in which I see them going is down, I could be mistaken but that is what I see.
643  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will you stay in crypto if BTC does not recover? on: July 31, 2018, 09:55:06 PM
Hi,

Just wondering if you guys will stay in crypto (aka hold or sell your BTC holdings) if the price does not recover.

Lets say we are still around 6k-7k by December 2018 => Will you wait it out or give up and say "OK, we had a nice ride but we are not going up again"?

What about if in 2019 price is still hovering around 6k-7k and there is no sign of recovery to 10k+ (or even a new ATH)
I would not mind, I have been around for some time and I know this is the way bitcoin works even if the price never increased again and it kept its current value I would still be around, but that is unrealistic the price is going to increase again since the technology does not stop improving and more people enter the market every day and this makes even easier to hold my coins for the long term.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: buy now altcoins ? on: July 31, 2018, 09:47:32 PM
I'm sure that the price will go even lower. The price of bitcoin will fall below  5000 $ already in the near future. So now you do not need to buy altcoyins for all your money.
No, the price of bitcoin is not going to go that low anytime soon, however I agree that this is a bad moment to buy altcoins, if the bitcoin ETF is denied then the price of bitcoin and altcoins will go down and if the bitcoin ETF is approved the price of bitcoin will go up but the price of altcoins will go down, in fact I cannot imagine a single scenario in which alts go up soon, so it is a good idea to wait until they crash a little bit more.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodlers will not change the world on: July 31, 2018, 09:41:41 PM
It is thanks to HODL participants that the crypto currency market is developing now, because thanks to the fact that they do not cash their crypto currency, this market survived in difficult times.
Correct, while there are many million coins that have being mined only a small portion of them are in circulation this creates scarcity and we know what happens when something is low in supply and the demand is high right? The price goes up and this is why many people that never thought the price of bitcoin could reach 19k were completely surprised when that happened.
646  Economy / Economics / Re: IRAN TO LAUNCH ITS OWN CRYPTOCURRENCY, GOOD OR BAD FOR CRYPTO ADOPTION? on: July 30, 2018, 09:23:08 PM
A few months back, we had Venezuela launching its own cryptocurrency- The Petro, now we have some announcement than IRAN will  be doing same soon, 'Govcoin' as it will be called is meant to help the Iranian Government boycott international sanctions. It seem other countries with similar restriction will be exploring the blockchain to achieve similar goals.I have my reservations about government-issues cryptos, do you think this is healthy for the cryptocurrency in general?

SOURCE:https://news.bitcoin.com/the-iranian-government-is-preparing-to-launch-its-own-cryptocurrency/
I really think that while a government creating their own cryptocurrency is irrelevant to our market at the same time I like the message this is sending to the world, banks no longer have a monopoly on the market and now they got competition and not matter what they do this is not going to change, this show to us that even governments are choosing cryptocurrencies as a way to deal with blocks from banks and if governments can do that then the power cryptocurrencies gives to the individual is enormous.
647  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Selling items online for Bitcoin or crypto on: July 30, 2018, 09:16:30 PM
Hey dudes hope you are well. I sell a lot of things on Craigslist. I am now planning on putting a couple things up and saying I accept btc or eth along with the greenback. Wondering if you guys have tried this. I
You are probably not going to have many takers when it comes to selling stuff for bitcoin since many people are still not sure about whether to adopt bitcoin or not, but it is something that does not cost you anything and that could easily give you a sell or two, it would be interesting to see the experiences of other people doing something similar and to know what kind of results they got.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty is dead :( on: July 30, 2018, 08:59:05 PM
if bounty die I think ico will be disturbed, a lot of ico that really depends on bounty, because bounty is the maximum promotion media. so I think bounty will not die quickly and will still survive in this forum.
The system of gathering money through icos is at risk as well, lately I have seen a lot of people complaining about the icos and the fact that they are feeling like the developers are taking advantage of them, this is not good in a market where the icos are completely dependent on the good will of their investors, so I will not be surprised if we see many icos unable to get the minimum amount of money to start their projects.
649  Economy / Speculation / Re: I need more money to invest now! on: July 30, 2018, 05:09:29 PM
As what i have seen on the coinmarketcap.com for the market price for bitcoin that literally goes down to 6K usd is a good time to start the investment. I am waiting for this moment but still i need more money to invest on it. Well i hope i could get more money the following day so that i could invest in this time where bitcoin market price falls down.
I think we all wish that we had more money so we can invest in the market right now, but we can only work with what we have, so the real question is who are you going to get more bitcoin without any money? Some have decided to borrow money but that is a huge mistake, some people did that and bought at the all time high and they have basically ruined their life with that decision so that should never be an option for us.
650  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trader or Gamblers. on: July 30, 2018, 04:59:08 PM
Do not compare the trader and gamblers i know and we all knows the difference between of them, same has have risk, but trading is a serous job to earn profits in the clean way, not unlike for the gambling is not the source of earning for is only the game of fears.
Gambling can be a source of income for those that play games that are not only about luck but about skill as well, sports betting is probably the most common way in which professional gamblers can make money, but you are right we cannot compare trading with gambling since in trading you can pick the market conditions in which you will participate while that is impossible with gambling.
651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SECRET OF TRADING on: July 25, 2018, 10:19:52 PM
You should stop saying that there are secrets for trading, because it is not true and people might be confused when they see this post, so better to clarify that.
The best thing to trade, is just to learn, that is how you will earn money

When it comes to becoming successful at anything there are no secrets but what it happens is that people do not want to accept the bitter truth that if you want to become successful then you need to work really hard to get there, this is why people keep looking for secrets because they want to find a shortcut, they want to find a way to become successful without working hard but that is impossible.
652  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Future of Economy! on: July 25, 2018, 10:07:26 PM
for now I think it is still too early to discuss about it, the main purpose of bitcoin is to be the world currency.
but you see rejection in many countries, I think it will take a long time, until the vision is achieved.
That is incorrect, the vision of satoshi was not to make bitcoin a world currency, bitcoin is supposed to give us an option to store our value in a currency not controlled by any government that cannot be printed at will and that vision has been reached already, what we are looking is for bitcoin to be more widely used, that way we can avoid using fiat completely and use only bitcoin for our transactions.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price will you panic and start selling coins? on: July 25, 2018, 09:53:22 PM
In the first place, I don't panic. So I don't have a panic button. Panic will only make us do things that we would regret in the future. People who panic are those who joined unprepared. It's like going into war without the proper military training in order for you to survive. So there's really no reason for me to panic cause I've got my weapons with me.
Everyone has a panic button you just do not know where your limits really are when it comes to the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, after the crash that we experimented at the beginning of the year not even once I was tempted to sell, so I know that I can resist a 70% crash without even flinching, can I endure a 90% crash? I suppose I can but I will not be sure until it happens.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Become Mainstream In The Next 10 Years? on: July 24, 2018, 11:20:53 PM
The chances of that are high but for that we need faster confirmations and cheaper fees, in other words we need the LN to work as promised and I have hope that will be the case, once that problem is solved forever bitcoin will be unstoppable and people all over the world will begin to see the benefits of using bitcoin over using fiat and will decide in mass to use bitcoin instead of fiat.
655  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading on: July 24, 2018, 11:12:51 PM
Have made small profits in crypto here and there and was looking to maybe get into day trading. Want to know have as much knowledge as I can before I start trading my money. Since there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of reading material on day trading crypto (maybe I'm wrong) I was wondering if all the same principles and rules that apply in trading stocks/ forex etc apply to crypto. Have books here but don't want to read through them and find that it doesn't apply. Also if anyone could recommend some things to read would be great. Thanks
Technical analysis can be applied to any market that has enough volume so you can read any book about day trading stocks or the forex market and you will be fine, just do not make the mistake of trying to apply those concepts to icos or to altcoins with a very low volume since it is known that technical analysis does not work under those conditions.
656  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin must come back to its original use - currency ! on: July 24, 2018, 10:58:45 PM
It is going to take a while for that to happen and it is entirely possible that bitcoin becomes something similar to gold, out of the two precious metals gold was the most valuable and this meant that the most circulated of those two metals was silver and not gold, so it is entirely possible that gold will not be used as a currency as much as we would like and that in the future another currency is the one that takes that place while bitcoin is mostly stored as a valuable commodity.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Earn up to 50 ETH on: July 24, 2018, 10:48:33 PM
you have to complete a profound research first before purchasing, on the grounds that occasionally the value look underestimated however generally the token will vanish, also should track coins or tokens that are sold by abundance seekers directly after they get their tokens. I've seen situations where they offer their coins for 1/5 of the ICO cost, so there may be an opportunity of a lifetime for a brisk 5X increment in price.buy an underestimated ethereum tokens, with dynamic advancement inside
There is not an excuse to not perform a deep research in the project in which you are interested in investing, but people do not want to do it because they are simply too lazy to do it, it does not matter how much people claim that they will like to make money in this market if they do not back their words with their actions then they are just lying.
658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin recovery? on: July 24, 2018, 10:36:28 PM
This year is a special year for bitcoin, statistics show that in the second quarter of 2018 bitcoin prices ended with a discount of about 8% for the first time in history. All of the previous years have shown bitcoin growth in the second quarter. Do you think this is a bad sign of a long-term downturn of bitcoin or do you still believe in a strong rebound in bitcoin prices? at the end of the year.
Right now we are seeing something that can be called a strong recovery, the price is still low compared to the all time high but at least it seems we are not going to see a new bottom in the price which is a good thing if you ask me, I warned people that we were not going to see prices like the one we were seeing for long and they did not listened and wanted to see ridiculous prices like 2000 dollars per coin and that was never going to happen.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: buy now altcoins ? on: July 22, 2018, 03:09:15 AM
There is no special time to buy any cryptocurrency provided they are not scam. It is better you buy any altcoin of your choice now and store them up till when their price will pump. The longer you wait, the higher the price which might be to high for you and making your profit will become a bit difficult. Go make your research on your desires coins and sack them up before it is too late.
This is completely false, anyone that can read a chart can know that buying a coin when it is at its cheapest is the best moment to buy that coin, there is a moment to buy coins and coincidentally this moment is now, people are waiting too much because they are afraid another crash happens but that is not going to happen and if they do not hurry and buy their favorite coins now they may not have the chance to buy at these prices again.
660  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you trade Bitcoin to buy Altcoins? on: July 22, 2018, 02:51:38 AM
Unless you are a very experienced trader, I strongly suggest you not to do that.
Altcoins pose substantial risks, even in day trading: subpar exchanges, vulnerabilities of all sorts, poor liquidity that can damage your profits.
Greed is good, but I think you can fulfill it with bitcoin.
My two cents,
F1
It depends on the altcoins you are trading, some of the major alts have already a market cap that is very high and should be traded in the biggest and best exchanges so there is no risk with those coins except the risk inherent to any market and the risk generated by your skill or lack of skill, but I think that those that do not have a lot of experience in trading should try to make money in bitcoin first before moving to more volatile coins.
