641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin statistics & computer learning (Weka | RapidMiner | KNIME) on: May 02, 2016, 10:32:42 AM
Do you want us to tell you your goal? Because thats what it sounds like. If you didnt understand your task, ask the professor or whoever gave it to you.

My professor doesn't know anything about bitcoin/blockchain Smiley He just teach decision making/computer learning. Students just have to come up the full task (related to decision making and to the M's topic) and solve it...

So basically you need someone to tell you what to do, ie be your prof or be you and help you complete your task?

Read more about your task, analyse your task, what is your task? It cannot be as generic as asking someone to analyse the blockchain? You want to analyse the efficiency of the blockchain? How close to centralisation is the blockchain? Relationship of rich list? Transactions and chances of orphans? If your prof gave u such a generic task, it is up to you as a student to analyse it and come up with the best problem and best use of the blockchain to analyse something which would benefit your studies the most, are you into cryptos? How the POW from the blockchain provides integrity in which when a miner says he mines a block, no one elses can refute it as the block mined contains non repudiation material?

Whatever happened to students learning Computer Science nowadays, no more critical thinking skills i guess

642  Economy / Speculation / Theoretical scenario : Will loyal bitcoin keepers be the death of bitcoin? on: May 02, 2016, 08:26:13 AM
Lets start with this.

For any object used for trading / for use as a currency such as cryptos or fiat, its value is somewhat determined by several factors such as total supply, circulation , innovation and ease of use among other factors.

For bitcoin, we have a limit of 21 million bitcoins.

Lets say that early adopters of bitcoins with 25% of it mined within 2 years are held by diehard bitcoin holders. That would leave a 75% remaining of bitcoins in circulation. However, roughly the last 7% of bitcoin will be mined over a timespan of 100 years.

That means of the total supply of bitcoins, hypothetically only 50% to 60% of the total supply would be spendable / incirculation.  The total spendable supply is always lower than the theoretical total supply, and is also subject to accidental loss, willful destruction, and technical peculiarities.

With an increased interest by general public and more and more companies accepting btc. Isn't it a vested interest for bitcoin holders to hold their BTCS rather than selling/trading it for other goods as many treat it like an investment rather than an actual fiat replacement?

So as more and more goods are available for exchange but with more and more people holding bitcoins/cryptos.

Wouldn't this supply and demand anomaly result in the slow death of bitcoin over time?

Pardon this retarded thought from someone with no clue about economics at all. Let the scolding/ education begin.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Age range of users on bitcointalk on: May 02, 2016, 07:58:59 AM
Mostly adults, kids under 18 generally just want to dick around on their phones on instagram, too stupid to understand something as complex as bitcoin

Cheesy Or at least mosts kids do. I wasnt that old when I first entered BCT under another account which I cannot remember
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is revealed and nobody here cares about this?? on: May 02, 2016, 07:21:55 AM

646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: OXUS- A New Future is Upon Us on: May 02, 2016, 06:46:08 AM
Can you explain the so called Zorkel 265 algo? If you simply made it up, there is no point launching the coin. There is no hashing related algo called Zorkel 265. for that matter, it will always be 256 bits, why is yours so unique 265?

CPU Fingerprint? You mean CPU SERIAL ID? That can be faked too.

Do you have a white paper? If no, I pretty much call bullshit on this
647  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Is BTC-Traders a scam? on: May 02, 2016, 06:40:26 AM
Has anybody had any experience with BTC-Traders.  The 5% daily compounded interest on your Bitcoin deposit seems almost too good to be true.  Any information you all have is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

For any wealth related services, if it is too good to be true, it usually is, unless you are talking about Exchange Traded Funds, those shits usually get profits for long term investments of at least 10 years
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is doing something on Bitcoin Pizza Day? May 22nd, 2016 on: May 02, 2016, 05:49:11 AM
Who is doing something on Bitcoin Pizza Day? May 22nd, 2016?

Bought on 22nd May 2010 by Laszlo Hanyecz, the programmer paid a fellow Bitcoin Talk forum user 10,000 BTC for two Papa John’s pizzas. Back then – when the technology was just over a year old – that equated to roughly $25, but is [alot more] by today’s exchange rate.

It would be funny if said member forgot about the transaction. Such a huge amount of btcs for a pizza. If extrapolated to today.. Laszlo could have bought at least 3 homegrown pizza franchises with that much bitcoin already. Whew..I guess I would be buying pizza for fiat on that day though.. i doubt more than 1% of my countries population even heard of bitcoin..

650  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Gyft.com $100 Balance ! 90% for any gift card on site ! on: May 02, 2016, 05:04:54 AM
Well, Gyft temporary removed Amazon.com gift card, so for me, it's no use.

You can find any available gift card on Gyft.com, I'll buy and send it to you directly from gyft.
I'll be selling anything there for 90% of it's original price.

Reply or PM me.
Hi, I will take an amazon GC, but don't you think 90% is too high?

Do you even read? OP is selling because Amazon GC HAS BEEN REMOVEED
651  Economy / Services / Re: Lost online wallet- 2BTC to finder on: May 01, 2016, 03:46:20 PM
Few years ago as in 2013? By now most of the wallet sites have closed down. With the remaining prominent one being blockchain.info. Try contacting support there with the emails you use.

You are like asking someone to find a needle in a haystack. Chances are if you are willing to spend 2btc to get that wallet, a higher chance would be that the wallet is already emptied.

Check your email to see if it was indeed a blockchain.info account

I have requested a recovery based on the email you gave, if you indeed have an account there, you should be receiving the way to recover your account

I am perfectly ok with helping you find it for a much lower reward or for free if you want to
652  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh Bank heist explained by a cybersecurity firm on: May 01, 2016, 03:42:11 PM
These guys are not your basic script kiddies... the level of knowledge needed to pull this off is significant and narrows the scope of people, who would be capable to do this. I also think this might be

orchestrated and combined with people working within these institutions. They have too much access to privileged information to be a outsider. I agree with this statement.. "  The tool was custom

made for this job, and shows a significant level of knowledge of SWIFT Alliance Access software as well as good malware coding skills.  " These people are professionals and very good at hiding their

tracks... This is one of the major reasons why SWIFT { a centralized service} needs to shift to a decentralized Blockchain solution like Bitcoin.  Wink

Even if they were not script kiddies, the bank security members were definitely cute kiddies. No enterprise networking equipment for a bank at all speak volumes about security
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Launch: I.M.O released DT Chain & DT Token Disrupting Travel on: May 01, 2016, 12:16:31 PM
On the fence here.  I got burnt really badly on a bridge investment that didn't work out as well as I thought it would.  My wife is going to leave me and take the kids if I can't turn things around soon.  I'll probably just off myself if she does.

I really need some honest advice here guys, because I can't decide where to put the rest of my savings.  Do I dump it all into drachmae club, or magic beans?

Dump some into an honest ETF

656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: OXUS- A New Future is Upon Us on: April 30, 2016, 10:54:16 AM
-First 6 weeks of POW will be using in-wallet miner that simulate max 1 of the Cpu cores ( like XVC at beginning ) for simple and more friendly mining experience to bring more people in and a max of 2 computers per IP.

No.

How do we know you won't be using an unlocked version of the miner while we are all using the gimped version?

Plus, the more savvy users among us will have no problem getting around the IP address restrictions and will compile their own version of the miner to allow unlimited cores.

My guess is that both of the these things will happen so I predict the coin's entire life-cycle will look like this : Coin launches, you rake in 90% of them for the first 12 hours, savvy miners fire up their own versions of the miner and unleash their botnets and VPS machines upon the coin, difficulty goes sky high, the coins stop flooding into your wallet so you say fuck it and walk, coin abandoned and dead without even a yobit listing.

Save us the trouble and don't bother.

Nah im pretty sure the wallet would be announced with the Yobit listing for $$$ for the dev you know

658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: OXUS- A New Future is Upon Us on: April 30, 2016, 09:28:31 AM
Im pretty sure your limits of 1 core and 2 max computers per ip would be reverse engineered within an hour of wallet being posted if interest is as large as I guess it would be
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It is time to declare war on Overclock.net on: April 30, 2016, 04:57:03 AM
You know sometimes certain people are just resistant to change. The only time they change or want to is when it is inevitable. Much like how everyone though science was taboo and many were burned at the stake for witch practise

Change is difficult to adopt.
We should have the guts to accept the change
Youre right, go with the flow,, dont get stuck,  even climate changes, so theres nothing especial about that change, better to accept it.

I heard climate change is a conspiracy by the government xD

You would be better off buying a cheap Windows 7 Pro key and manually free upgrade it to Windows 10 Pro
