642  Bitcoin / Group buys / [SOLD OUT -- SHIPPING] AntMiner Jumper Switch GB on: July 31, 2014, 08:28:20 PM
Hey guys and gals!

We're picking up a few (hundred) of Bitmain's latest gadget, the "AntMiner Jumper Switch" PSU plug.

I'm gauging interest in a GB for BITMAIN's PSU Jumper Switch which was announced today, July 31st.  This buy has been cleared for launch, and our order has been placed.  We'll hold units for anyone interested on a first-come, first serve basis.  I would like to have some units on hand myself, but the MOQ 500 is a few more than I would like to have lying around.

As I have no trust rating, I'll be happy to accept Verified Paypal accounts or escrow for this project.  If a reputable escrow provider is interested in throwing in on this one, please feel to PM me--else wise I'll hunt one up or take suggestions from the participants.

If you're interested in purchasing a few, let me know how many you would like in this thread (or via PM) and we'll sort out the details.  I'm located in the central US, and have current capacity to package and ship the orders upon arrival in no more than 48 hours.  BITMAIN is stating that these will ship at the end of August, and they generally hit their windows or ship earlier.

Pricing is calculated in US dollars per unit, and doesn't include shipping costs.  In the US you can send me a PDF of the postage, or I can calculate the rate and settle up before we ship.  We have numerous anonymous commitments, so barring any difficulties this GB is already GTG.

Payments must be made before we ship the product, but you don't need to pay in advance if you choose not to.  All prices are listed in USD below and will be priced via the Bitstamp market price when you decide to order!

-----Pricing-----

1-10 units . . . . $2.25 per piece

10-25 units . . . $2.00 per piece

25+ units . . . . $1.75 per piece

-----Shipping-----

We'll settle up on shipping in the next week when the product arrives, but I'll accept pre-printed postage from any major carrier (I prefer USPS or FedEx for domestic) or charge a flat rate in BTC.  It'll be cheaper to provider your own postage, and more convenient to pay the flat rate.

[Update Mon, August 11]
Each unit, according to BM, weighs 18.5g a piece, or about 0.66 ounces.  For US customer, that comes out to about 24 units per pound, which means we should be able to easily ship units in a Priority USPS flat rate box.

Now, what we don't know is how these devices will be packaged, or if they will be packaged at all.  BM has verified with me via email that each piece will be individually packaged.  The plan currently is to receive the units and determine how many pieces can be fit in a small/medium/large USPS flat rate box with appropriate padding to prevent units from being damaged.  I will provide bubble wrap and the like, as I have those items in stock now.  As soon as we determine how many units will safely travel in each box, I'll contact each buyer and make arrangements for shipping.

Dunno, can we trust you?
We can do escrow or Paypal, I'm happy with either.

AntMiner Jumper Switch- Bitcoin Miner Accessory

Global Sales start on July 31, will close on August  6th. Shipping starts on August 27th.

PC Power Supply has been widely used to power Bitcoin Miners, but users have to use the paper clip or other metal line to short blue line and black line of the PSU 24 pin interface before powering Bitcoin Miners. It is troublesome thing to short lines, and may lead to unstable power supply.

Here we are glad to introduce a new Bitcoin Miner Accessory - AntMiner Jumper Switch, which is to provide a convenient and effective method to start PSU. Only need to connect it to the PSU 24 pin interface, then press the “Switch”.

Only Available at http://www.bitmaintech.com

Very nice and simple design.why a minimum of 500 to be bought though?

Yeah - a "20 or 50 pack" would be good...

If enough people are interested, I'll order 500 and parse them out in bunches of 25s.  I've been meaning to work on my trust rating anyway.  Anyone interested?

I guess I don't understand why there are leads to every pin on the connector, rather than just the ones needed to turn on the PSU.  Is it safe to assume those leads would be live, and have current running through them?  I'm no EE, I'm just curious if these are 'safe' enough to use in a household with animals or children.

no that could shock as the entire 5v amp's are available.  I would not use that product without the pins covered.

I use these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261302980079?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

added advantage the on off switch  has long length for placement.

5v at these amperage will not cause shock. You could lay your finger over the entire set of pins without a single problem.
But could I lick them?  ;-)  Thanks for the info, I'll think about ordering a million of them.  I presume minersource will be stocking them as well?

The shipping of B5 started, 7 days earlier than promised date. We added more B5 units for sale.

What about B4 ? That hasn't even started shipping yet has it?

Batch 4 shipping notices went out yesterday
My batch 4 order will be delivered tomorrow in the US.

I can confirm that, got my notification and the package is moving.

The new Firmware is up https://www.bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=007201407180243004432lBQW28O0633
Quote "No beeper altert when there is no immediate hashing work. During the normal mining, Green LED is always on. If there is no immediate hashing work for 1 second, the Green LED will turn off. If it lasts more than 1 minute without hashing work, green LED is kept off and beeper rings"

Just flashed my two S3's with the new firmware.  No more beeping!  The fiancee will be most pleased!
Excellent news, thanks for the report!

Hello,
i ordered 13x S3,  but i have same problem ...
Unpaid
Unshipped
Expired

after how long time u got changed status to paid.?
It took my two orders about an hour.  If they've not cleared in 24-hours, email BM with your order number and TXID of the payment--they will manual update your order from there.
651  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 24, 2014, 04:45:56 PM
Does anyone knows the exactly weight of the s3 miners. I need that data for custom declaration.. Thx!
BM states 6K on the package.
652  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 24, 2014, 04:44:58 PM
In the same boat. Hoping for the same outcome

This happens every time BM launches a new product, and always has.  It will sort out for everyone who paid, as it does every time.  If it's not automatically fixed in 24 hours, shoot BM an email with your order number and the TXID of your payment and they will manually fix it, although I've only seen someone need to do this once in thousands of orders.
653  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 24, 2014, 04:38:46 PM
Bitmain just changed my order to paid status after 13 confirmations  Smiley
Yeah, my first order sat and sat, my second (later) order changed to paid after 3 confirmations.  Both show as paid now!
654  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 24, 2014, 03:09:03 PM
Did anybody get a payment confirmation on the order details page? Blockchain is showing 2 confirmations but nor Bitmain.
I'm in the same boat--we may have broken the Internet.  I'm sure it will sort, it always does.
655  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 23, 2014, 11:52:44 PM
The chip is spec'd at 9.33W @ 7.5 0.75V - you can do the math on that amiright?

thats about 12.5A per chip with 2 chips per regulator - only about 25A draw or so which is well within the limits of the TPS53355. Either bitmain got some crappy/knockoff regulators or the problem is something else.

in the S1 the TPS53355 was able to push 35A without issues in most miners.

Without issues? I guess that depends on how lucky you were with the batch of regulators used for your particular S1s. This part was also used in the bitfury "25GH" boards and offered a ton of room for overclocking - provided that some airflow was provided.

Thing is, the part may have outperformed the specification in the past, or in certain batches, but that's no guarantee of future performance - which is why they provide min/typ./max info in the first place. Assuming that a critical part is going to perform above spec is either ballsy or retarded depending on your POV.

Yes, 25A is under the 30A "max" spec'd by TI, but to get the whole picture you need to consider thermal derating which I mentioned in an earlier post. I have some thermal pics at home, I'll upload them if there's any interest.

Please upload your thermals, I'm interested to see them.
656  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【SOLD OUT】The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, Now $1595 per unit on: July 23, 2014, 03:22:43 PM
I'm not sure what the upgrade is... But I've heard firmware, just can't remember where... If that's the case it wouldn't be replacing anyting in the old unit.

Although - Increasing its hashing by .8 - 1.0 TH with simply firmware seems a bit of a stretch. So, I don't know.

Guess we'll just have to wait for another announcement! I'm sure now that the S3 released their R&D team will be focused on the project.
BM said they would be providing upgrade hardware for the S1/S2 owners in the announcement OP of the S3.  Not firmware.
657  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【SOLD OUT】The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, Now $1595 per unit on: July 23, 2014, 03:21:26 PM
Yea, been tracking this but nothing since mid Junish... Last word was August/Sept timeframe.

Late september would be fine with me… I can't picture any S2 owner wanting to upgrade right now because not even the batch 1 units have been in the game long enough to ROI… So with that said you would be throwing away money unless there was a way to use the old cards .. It would be nice to see if someone could come up with a Pi mod or BBB mod to use the old boards.
I'll happily replace a couple board to put less stress on the PSU, though.  If we could hash last-gen/next-gen in the same box, that would be grand.  That may be a pipe dream.
658  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 【SOLD OUT】The last Batch of AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner, Now $1595 per unit on: July 23, 2014, 02:06:31 PM
Is there a similar form factor s4 coming soon?  Really wanted to finish off this server rack with something similar to the s2,   but using 28nm chips of course Smiley
No word yet.  Upgrade boards for the S2 were mentioned in an OP from BM, but no word yet.  I would presume those boards and an S4 product would release pretty close to the same time, as they may be the same cards!

I cant understand why people are purchasing s3's, the return at the current difficulty is 8usd aday, about 50 week and you spend 468.5 usd?HuhHuhHuhHuh?

How are you going to make your money back, not forgetting running costs...

For many of us this is a hobby that we all understand will not make us rich. I will be happy to break even. Just like my other hobby that I throw money at, I have a race car that I know will cost me more than I make in winnings. Why do I do it? Because I enjoy it.

If you are depending on your Bitcoin mining to survive, you need to find a better way to earn a living.

You enjoy throwing money down the drain?
Okay, pal.  Move along.

I like to play the "Let's see if I can take this BTC and make more BTC game" too, but at the end of the day I started with a USD200 video card and have had a blast playing with everything in-between.  If I turn a profit, neat.  If I don't, I still got to play with some cool toys.  Win-win.
