AntMiner Jumper Switch- Bitcoin Miner AccessoryGlobal Sales start on July 31, will close on August 6th. Shipping starts on August 27th. PC Power Supply has been widely used to power Bitcoin Miners, but users have to use the paper clip or other metal line to short blue line and black line of the PSU 24 pin interface before powering Bitcoin Miners. It is troublesome thing to short lines, and may lead to unstable power supply. Here we are glad to introduce a new Bitcoin Miner Accessory - AntMiner Jumper Switch, which is to provide a convenient and effective method to start PSU. Only need to connect it to the PSU 24 pin interface, then press the “Switch”. Only Available at http://www.bitmaintech.com I guess I don't understand why there are leads to every pin on the connector, rather than just the ones needed to turn on the PSU. Is it safe to assume those leads would be live, and have current running through them? I'm no EE, I'm just curious if there is a chance that those front-facing leads could be shorted inadvertently.

The car battery really wouldn't be that much worse than a 9V battery. You could try it on a 12V power tool battery or a lantern battery, with the added benefit of not needing to stack three of Gene Simmons' tongues end to end.

Cool list, Aztecminer. It seems like that would power 2 S3s & still have some room for O/Cing? I looked but couldn't find how many PCI-E connectors it had... It looks like 6 in the photo. yes it comes with six PCI-E connectors .. and it will power 2x oc'ed S1's or 2x oc'ed S3's ..

You could lay your finger over the entire set of pins without a single problem. okay what do you think will happen if that set of exposed pins presses on the should of the s-3 bitminer. and if you have 10 s-3's with 4 or 5 psu's and 4 or 5 of those psu/shorting devices it can happen. we need mstrongbow to print up a few pretty shields with his 3-d printer. bob you did business with him if you buy 500 of these ask him to 3-d print a shield. or just tape over the pins. note not my photo I lifted it from the show us your mining gear thread. I did not mean shock hazard as much as i meant short / grounding hazard on setups like the one below those pins on this rack below need to be shielded from contact to the rack.

All of my PSUs have a built-in power switch, I leave the jumper permanently on the 24 pin connector and use the power supply switch on the rare instances that I need to power the miner on or off. Simply have no use/need for a 'switch board' (certainly not one with the 'shorting feature' of these exposed pins). Bitmain should focus on the stuff that you are good at - miners. (what about the upgrade kits for S1/S2?)
Cheers

You guys remind me of when I was in the navy on a nuclear submarine. One of our jobs was to go into the battery compartment to check on the individual cells where you had to crawl over many batteries that had terminals about 8 inches apart. To prevent shorts there was a rule that you could not go down there with any tool that was over 6 inches long. Of course all of us navy guys claimed to have 'tools' longer than 6 inches.. d

Stop stop stop. here is why I am anti paper clip https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=720208.0 and I am also anti bitmaintech switch for a simple reason those pins have 5 volt 20-30 amps they can ground out on the should of the s-3 or on a metal shelf. BTW I have nothing to do with the ebay seller that sells a safer product then bitmaintech is selling. now if mstrongbow from this site prints a proper back plate for the bitmaintech switch I would like it. I am not taping over the pins with a Macgyver like fix.

Has anyone in the U.S. had problems with customs? My packages got held up and had a status of "A valid tax ID or deferment number is missing and is required for clearance." They were in Anchorage, Alaska when I got that status update. Customs and/or UPS is telling me Bitmain didn't put a tax ID on the boxes and they had to have my SSN and I'm going to be required to pay a tax on them now. What the hell...
