641  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2016, 08:10:58 AM
Well today is the International Women's Day. I think it's a good idea to gift a Bitcoin paper wallet along with the flowers as a sign of appreciation for what they have done for you over the years. In this way you will show your love and promote Bitcoin to more people.
Make that an App installation manual for her cellphone. Deliver the BTC onces she has her own, self generated addy.
642  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2016, 08:09:38 AM
I have done lots of mistakes, but the biggest one was keeping BTC on Mintpal. My 6k dollars are completely lost. This is a good lesson - never keep on exchanges more than you can afford to lose, use your own wallet.
lol. mintpal is small exchanger. very unfortunate if you keep on sites that are not trusted and not famous, maybe if you keep in poloniex. It will not happen mate
We thought similar about Cryptsy.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with your 13 bitcoins on: February 26, 2016, 06:34:33 PM
Just hold them, eventually bitcoin will be THE global currency.  At that point you will have roughly $13 million to spend on anything you want/need.
At least during 2016 the Halving Year this is solid advise. Doubting the 1 BTC == 1 Million USD long goal, but don't stop dreaming  Grin
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: February 26, 2016, 06:33:27 PM
It is normal. Fiat is still the popular instruments for illegal activities. Why do we still accuse bitcoin? But with bitcoin you have to be smart otherwise you can be caught.
You are right. All currency are getting used in illegal activities. That don't effect currency's image and all the currencies are being used daily for all the activities. I think bitcoin will grow on it's own pace regardless of anything related to this.
Every form of technology features additional illicit use cases. Casting iron ... yielding swords. There is no way back into the stone age, and rumor has it that era has been a sucker on medical aid and care of the elderly.
645  Other / Off-topic / Re: what you like best in Bitcoin ? on: February 26, 2016, 06:31:10 PM
For me the best thing about bitcoin is that i can
earn them online. For many years internet jobs where paid
in difrent forms. Some of them turn out scams or just inpratcical.
Many laws where changed and erning online was cripled on some levels.
BTC geave us a way. New, innovative, fast and safe. Thats way i like it so far.

That's the way, but wouldn't you mind giving a hint at where? Microwork Tasks paid in BTC, that's what I am looking at.
646  Local / Off-Topic (Deutsch) / Re: Bundesregierung erwägt offenbar Bargeld-Obergrenze von 5000 Euro on: February 24, 2016, 04:39:42 PM

Actually I like Brazilian girls... Wink
This coin is a brazilian ripoff. Better carry an "Brazil Travel Guide: Commonly reported scams and safety precautions to keep safe." with you.
648  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: February 18, 2016, 09:41:48 PM
Also mir macht der Fork richtig schiss.

Wer etwas off the Blockchain machen will, hat doch PayPal. Oder VISA. Oder Western Union. Oder Paymill. Oder ClickandBuy. Oder Paysafecard. Oder Giropay. Oder Sofortüberweisung.de. Oder oder oder oder oder!
649  Local / Off-Topic (Deutsch) / Re: Der Westen gegen Russland: Und schuld ist immer Putin on: February 16, 2016, 08:02:36 AM

So what is the hold up for getting coinmarketcap working correctly?
Maybe nobody contacted coinmarketcap dev yet to fix the problem. So, I made a post on his thread hopefully he will be able to fix it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=199685.msg13898290#msg13898290

You should add the solution joel_ published to your request, not only hinting on the issue. That could speedup coinmarketcap a little. The formula is precise enough for at least several next weeks (the coins/day isn't constant, but on a known decline rate)

- total supply will be just slightly below 21 mio coins
- available supply atm is around 1.6 mio (dcr devs + airdrop) + around 8.9k coins/day * 7 days since launch = aprox. 1.662 mio coins.

Problem is, Coinmarketcap needs the way how to get this from dcrd or any other place automatically, which seems not possible atm. Lets hope devs will fix this asap, because it can gain additional visibility for DCR.

*edit
At current prices (400usd/btc, 0.00282) the DCR capitalization is around 1.9 mio USD.
651  Local / Trading und Spekulation / Re: Der Aktuelle Kursverlauf on: February 15, 2016, 03:45:55 PM

As of 2016/2/12 there are left 2163 airdrop addresses unspent. ~27% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins
As of 2016/2/13 there are left 2143 airdrop addresses unspent. ~28% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins
As of 2016/2/14 there are left 2118 airdrop addresses unspent. ~29% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins
As of today 2016/2/15 there are left 2093 airdrop addresses unspent. ~30% of Airdrop receivers moved their coins

They better move them all. I got that feeling that someone out there knows all the seeds or hexes he has airdropped on them.
No coins will be lost.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Currency has been released on: February 14, 2016, 02:36:54 PM
I heard that many SIA platform users providing hdd space complain about not receiving their reward.

You argue that they get no reward if their uptime is below 100%. That is not right because everyone has problems with their online provider which cause downtime many times.  This is not the SIA users' fault.

You shoud think of changing that as soon as possible. Further I see no success of SIA because downtime of a decentralized structure will always be a problem because of the telecommunication companies.

Hence the redundance in storage places. Next great idea would be downtime tolerance, so retrying to contact host for payments several times and then sending revard according to uptime percentage recordable. 50% downtimes detected ... 1/2 reward. More uptime reliability, more rewards. Who manages like 90% (privateer, desktop) should be eligible for recieving full rewards.

watch out for C-Cex too - they steal

Any links with some story backgrounds?
Honestly I never had any issues regarding C-Cex but am still slightly nervous due to the Cryptsy aftermath. And in a way the reputation of the place where your coin trades - reflects back on your coin. No more backyard alleys.
655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcoin is better then fiat on: February 14, 2016, 11:28:58 AM
Even for fiat to get transferred certain percentage of the amount has to be given as commission(not transaction charge) and a intermediating firm is required. Such are not required in bitcoin for small as well large transaction
But there are transactions fees for BTC
And on the long term these have to carry the whole mining infrastructure, which is at the current moment just absurd.
Expecting the mining aspect of BTC will loose some weight over the next following years.
The advantage stays on long distant transfers and perhaps bridging ideological systemical borders, where those still do apply.
656  Other / Meta / Re: Post quality on: February 14, 2016, 10:59:01 AM
I was wondering is the anything out there that says whats a poor- excellent post.

Such as over 100 characters for excellent  under 10 for poor etc.
100 characters post doesn't always mean 'excellent / acceptable' post for a signature campaign manager (this is what you wanted to know, exactly?). You should post as you don't have a signature, means : post to contribute not to get paid by a signature campaign.

Alternatively just don't do these campaigns. The reason why they still exist eludes me, since there is a setup option for browsing the forum without Advertisements/Signatures anyways.

Advertisers should pay for views (page impressions) not for signatures that people do fade-out.
657  Other / MultiBit / Re: I have a question about the blockchain size... on: February 14, 2016, 09:35:49 AM
there is also a proposal for ANY client to add in a basic 2mb rule. but blockstream are pretending its impossible for them to implement

this map opened my eyes, historically there has not been any "impossibility" that's nonsense

658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Satoshi Nakamoto do with his Bitcoins? on: February 14, 2016, 09:32:22 AM
i hope he never touches those coins, because it is going to create a massive panic and news will be filled with a lot of FUD, the result would be on bitcoin price so we will take the hit.

Dead people don't touch coins. The signs are pretty clear, this scene is so active and so much has happened since his disappearance that he would have to be dead, to behave like he did.

Satoshi is no more with us.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 14, 2016, 09:29:20 AM
We need to keep this volume.
A volume like this for a day or two will not help but maintaining it for years to come and even increasing it will make Monero great.
If we are able to do so, we do not need to apply for exchanges to accept us but the exchanges are begging us to accept them.

100ks of XMR in trade are 0.8% in Fees if you move them into BTCs and back again twice a day for your leisure. They will be begging on their knees to get that much money out of you.
Better just HODL.

Adding this posting

Dumps happens cause no buy happens.
If there is enough interest in buy, dump will never happen cause buy pressure is higher than sell.

Stable price will be 0.005 i think.
I don't think that 110 btc in buy walls means that there is no interest

onto it's followup posting

EDIT: 2163 addresses have not moved their airdrop coins
How many people got airdrops?
Nice idea in theory but if they gave thousands of people coins it might take ages before the scammers who got coins dump their coins.

I did buy a few but I'm just going to watch now

this equation equals "market manipulation, dump imminent"
