641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Applecoin - Exchange, Pools, Block Explorer, Forum, $800K+ Market Cap on: December 07, 2013, 09:53:21 PM
I can't seem to mine this coin. I have tried both pools posted on the first page and I can't get any successful shares. Here is what my setup looks like:

Any ideas? I have set it up like all the other coins I have been mining and I have had no problems with them.

tekcoin, tigercoin, joulecoin, asiccoin were all copycat failures... why would i mine this now?

Because it's Snowcoin!

I don't see your point about it being illegal and I will notify admins, thanks for your suggestions.  As far as him disappearing, he was actively responding, up to an hour before my post, suggesting that he transferred the funds.

hmm, ok. Also, it's called the Data Protection Act which is in effect in the UK. I am not sure about the USA but I feel the same rules apply. You are revealing his personal information with intent that a person/persons harm that individual or their property. I'm certainly not a legal expert but this surely would be illegal, and as I said it is morally wrong in my opinion (not that my opinion is be all, end all lol. I just have a right to speak and I feel this would be a very bad move).

645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ridiculously premined alt coins on: December 07, 2013, 07:07:17 PM
I think it's because people are desperate to get in early 'just in case'. If we ignored such coins then the trend would die. Devs have a chance to make something great, bitcoin wont be the only e-currency in the future and some of the altcoins will do quite well, and who knows, one, or some may overtake BTC in the future. It's looking bright for PPC in my opinion, but who the hell knows...
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [BSS] BossCoin - Do Not Waste Your Time (Scam Coin)! on: December 07, 2013, 06:28:30 PM
Oh and it won't be an easy decision to share his real identity with the masses.  Who here thinks I should?

I wouldn't advise it, not only is it likely illegal it is also highly immoral in my opinion. If he is a scammer then forget about him, it's not worth it just put your efforts into something else rather than rallying a witch hunt. Also contact forum staff to ban him and again if he signs up with a new account (on same ip address/email).

However, are you sure he has scammed you? Because he hasn't contacted you back? Perhaps something has happened to him? He is ill? There are lots of possibilities. We should wait and see what happens in a few days, until then I will point my mining elsewhere though and cancel my buy order on these coins so thanks for the heads up.

I agree with StableCoin, it appears to have a good little team behind it now and I have also been trying to mine that, although finding the difficulty a little hard for my machine.

A new project that looks like it may have something will be CasinoCoin (CAC) which is launching in 14 days. It has 3 professional devs behind it who are in talks with casinos around the world who are looking for a single casino currency to use instead of fiat (cash in/cash out system in house). It looks like they have done some research and they may have something. It's not just another clone coin, although they are taking the name of the old CasinoCoin which is dying due to the dev abandoning it. Check out the bottom posts by 'casinocoin' - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=258090.300

Another great coin is peercoin, although that is sha256 so most can't mine it. I'm investing as much money as I can into that though Smiley.
647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who's voting for II digits? on: December 07, 2013, 05:38:00 PM
Not a chance. I think it's already bottomed at $580 about 12 hours ago. Now sitting at $750.
648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Borrowed $1,000,000 (1 million dollars) from my dad to invest in BTC (serious) on: December 07, 2013, 05:26:01 PM
Hmm, you need to really think hard about this. If I was in your situation I would put a little into Bitcoin, a little into Litecoin and a little into Peercoin, but that's just me. I also don't think I would slam $1m into these new unstable currencies. Maybe 50-100k if you can afford to loose.
649  Economy / Speculation / Re: Double Digits incoming! on: December 07, 2013, 07:29:55 AM
Best news I have heard for a long time! I am so late to the bitcoin party, now bitcoins and altcoins will be affordable if they dip to double digits Cheesy! We all know that Bitcoin will do well in the long run, so no worries. I just hope there will be a few sellers available when it's there on the bottom..

I remember when bitcoin was around $3 per coin. I decided not to invest in some, which was a huge mistake and only heard about it again 3 years later on the news. Checked my old wallet and had 0.33 btc from a bit of mining I did for a few hours when it was launched lol. Perhaps i'll get to start again? Well, maybe not that low cost.

PPC should be the dominant alt coin Smiley or perhaps even the dominant coin in the long run.

652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SBC] From Death Comes Life – The Rebirth of StableCoin - stablecoin.net on: December 07, 2013, 03:09:19 AM
lol funny to see stable coin not dropping in value over the last 24hrs whilst every single other coin goes down 25%. Truly living up to its name Cheesy.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BSS] Bosscoin - FORUM Launched - POW Proof of Work on: December 07, 2013, 03:05:32 AM

656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] yacoin: yet another altcoin. START is now. on: December 07, 2013, 02:02:22 AM
I think i've tried everything. I simply cant mine with this, or get it to sync. I assume the original post relates to applying commands through command prompt? (ie yacoin-qt -gen)
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][BSS] Bosscoin - FORUM Launched - POW Proof of Work on: December 06, 2013, 09:13:08 PM
Bosscointalk is down Sad.

Also, i'm still looking to buy a few thousand coins as my computer only runs at 250kh/s which is really slow compared to other computers, and i'm using it most of the time so I can only mine at night. Only managed to get 100 coins so far. I will only buy at a fair price though, many people are overvaluing this new currency and trying to rip people off.
658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Balls of Steel on: December 06, 2013, 08:27:06 PM
So the advise from you all is to wait for a few days and buy? I have no BTC and i'm looking to invest, but I can't afford to even buy 1btc at $1000. I could buy a few though if they were $300-400.
659  Economy / Speculation / Re: DROPPING LIKE A ROCK on: December 06, 2013, 08:22:12 PM
How far do you think it will fall? I'm looking to buy some. I don't have much money but hey, i'll buy if it ever went down to $300-400 again.
660  Economy / Speculation / Re: This "Crash" is a good thing on: December 06, 2013, 07:45:10 PM
The point is Bitcoin is astrong idea, if you believe in it then invest in it and spend your coins in shops. Don't worry about 'crashes'. If it does crash then even more of a reason to buy.
