Barcelona and Roberto Firmino have had a verbal agreement.
Firmino has agreed to join Barcelona for free at the end of his current contract at Liverpool. His contract ends this July.
Klopp would have likes Firmino to remain at Liverpool but Firmino is hell bent on moving on to another club. Well he wants a new challenge so he is moving to other club after denying contract extension at Liverpool. Eitherway he will always be a legend for Liverpool given the contributions he has made over his tenure at Liverpool. Personally, I don't think this is good decision from Barcelona. There is no point having a 31 year old as the back up striker of a 34 year old. Firmino is in decline currently. Barcelona needs a young and promising striker to be the back up for Lewandoski not a declining striker.
I don't like how Barcelona is managing his players nowadays. They have lot of players now but they stick to only some and don't give much chances to these new transfers. Somehow I feel Firmino (if moves) is gonna end up sitting most of the time in benches only. I really don't like how Barcelona are planning their transfers. |

Wow! Is that the real Newcastle?
Winning 5-0 at half time against a team whose position in the previous standings was right below and above Newcastle, I think the 5-0 win was a truly surprising result and far from anyone's prediction. In fact, Newcastle managed to score a quick goal at least 20 minutes after the match started.
Amazingly, Newcastle was still trying to make another goal in the second half, because Newcastle had just managed to add a goal and at this time Newcastle was leading with a score of 6-1. To be honest, I really didn't expect the result to be like this, because at this moment Tottenham is also not a weak team or maybe, the reshuffle in the coaching chair has made Tottenham's performance continue to deteriorate.
Newcastle were incredible tonight with playing some really 1-to-1 passes inside the box and putting some defence splitting passes. They deserved the result tonight. Spurs on other hand have no idea as to what to do in order to stop them. They changed their strategy when they put in Davinson Sanchez and that somehow controlled the game after there on but Spurs relied on counter attacks only. Damage was already done with 5 goals advantage and comfortable win and 3 points for the Magpies. Spurs need a manager in my opinion as this wouldn't do and they really will lose the position they are holding onto in the table. |

Aston Villa failed to steal full points during their away game against host Brentford in today's match. Even though Aston Villa has had extraordinary performance in the last few matches and has successfully won successive wins over their opponents. But this draw is also not a bad thing, at least they get 1 additional point to be closer to Spurs' position in the standings. I think Spurs have to be wary of Aston Villa, if they fail to win against Newcastle this week, then Aston Villa has the chance to shift Spurs' position starting next week.
Its always tough against Thomas Frank's Brentford side. They are really a very good team and give even a good team a headache. Brentford did good job to find the opener but they should have done better to find another and have a good advantage over Aston Villa in the match. Aston Villa also had good amount of chances but they found the net late in the game. Well both played well and both shared the points so a good result for both the teams. |

In the Fulham-Leeds united match, Fulham was the winner.Things have started to go badly for Leeds, who are in the relegation pot, and it is worth noting that they are at risk as long as they lose points.Fulham continues to maintain its chances to participate in the European Cups.With this win, it reduced the point difference with liverpool in 7th place to 5.In the match, which did not produce a goal in the first half, there were 3 goals in the second half.We can say that all 3 goals were scored by Fulham players.Leeds' goal came with an own goal.
Yeah, bit hard to believe given the way they were performing before their inconsistent streak but well from the beginning their defence wasn't too strong so also then again not surprised that much. Fulham on other hand is a very great team. One might undermine them but I never, its same with Brentford as well. Both these teams are capable of surprising big squads. Fulham were without their main man Mitrovic but still they produced a really good team play today. Really deserved the win against Leeds. Relegation battle is going to be interesting as lot of teams are close near the teams in relegation so there will be lot of shift going on so I expect lot of teams on the bottom to produce some unexpected results in the remainder matches. |

I see that Manchester City's chances of taking first place from Arsenal are very big because Arsenal have played 32 times so far and Manchester City still have 30 times. This provides greater opportunities for Manchester City because Arsenal have not been able to win the three matches they have played so far including yesterday's game against the bottom team in the Premier League this season, namely Southampton. So it will be very difficult for Arsenal to maintain the top position in the standings for the rest of this season because Manchester City is not an easy opponent for Arsenal in the next match.

That's the problem, Kompany still has a lot to learn if he wants to coach a big team, not to be dubious but the jump is too big I think.
As for Lampard, Chelsea have said that he will remain in interim charge until the end of the season and that is certain to happen now.
btw there are some rumors now apart from Kompany, Poche, Nagelsmann and Enrique, now there is a new name namely Conte who is rumored to be returning to Chelsea although I am not sure about this.
Yes he still has to go far for managing a top tier team. Next season he will face Premier League with Burnley and it will be crucial for him as to impression he makes managing a side like Burnley. It sure is a tough job to promote a Championship side to PL but maintaining themselves in PL is even harder especially when all the rest 19 teams are tough sides. Right now its Pochettino going strong for manager role for Chelsea but its gonna take time as Chelsea wants a serious manager and get all things in order before they narrow it down to the one they need and confirm in the end. |

If we are talking a out next seas on, it will be probably changing if they have some more refreshing, something new. Tjey need otjer supports from new assignments and also probbaly couch that is really suitable for them? I am sure Klopp had already given the board a bit insight on his plans for next seasons and what he needs. It comes down to board also to get the manager what he needs. Right now its 50-50 between Arsenal and City. Out of the the two, can understand why many prefers City but if City slips up even 1-2 matches out of remaining matches and we maintain our consistency then we have managed to beat City in the title race. Remember, Arsenal has been consistent for a long time at the beginning of the season and even in last season they were consistent in the middle. We need same kind of consistency back again and win matches with same mentality and confidence. |

I am actually a little impressed by Roma. They have done well to get themselves into the top four. On the other hand, really underwhelming performance from Milan. And a really bad performance from Inter. Expected far better from these two teams, to be honest. The season is not over yet. Let’s see if they can improve.
Roma has improved a lot under Mourinho but they still are in tough spot given the competition they are facing from AC Milan and Inter for the CL spot. There are still 8 matches to be played and Roma has to play against both AC Milan and Inter in these remaining matches so there are chances of things getting turned around. Also don't forget that Roma are in Europa too so it can be tough for Roma when Europa fixture is near.As for AC Milan and Inter, yes they have been very poor especially Inter who despite having a very good squad have lost consistency in last 5-6 games. |

Yeah playing mind games is normal and especially when title race is going so close. About City injuries, I can see Ake injury as the only new injury on the list but still things will be clear after tests are properly done. If he is still out by the game against Arsenal arrives, it will be a bit difficult as they need someone tough to handle Saka on that side. They have Gomez on that side but he doesn't have much experience so that will give us a slight edge on the right wing as Saka is really pacy and they need someone with experience to handle him. |

Its not that easy. City have a dense squad so its a bit relief but they can still be in worse position if injury list becomes long while facing this bust schedule. Sometimes they might be low in some positions so they have to work out with options without experience or not comfortable in that positions which really affects the team performances at time. It's a tough job but Guardiola has been doing this for years so let's see how he handles it as things has come down to crucial point now. |

For me, as a big Arsenal fan, just to be in the top 4 is already an achievement for them. the reason is, how long has Arsenal always been absent in the Champions League competition. if I'm not mistaken, lastly The Gunners competed in UCL 2015/16. now, they have a great opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the Champions League competition. from the start, Arteta's target was to enter the top 4 of the standings.
just because they are on the right path to silverware, Arteta is on a mission to capitalize on that. unfortunately, in the last two matches against Liverpool and the match against West Ham, their consistency experienced several problems. one of them, several important defenders who suffered injuries. plus, some quarterbacks underperform. Yeah I too share the same feeling. Thanks to long consistent run earlier we are enjoying a comfortable table top position. We have confirmed CL ticket and we have a good squad and great level of confidence inside the team. I think we already have achieved something and just because we are so close to be at the top is what makes us push hard for it. It's a tough job with City closing in so really wish we can make it a season to remember as we have good chance here. Even so, Arsenal are still at the top of the table with a difference of 4 points with City. it's just that, City have one match postponed. if City do not run into problems, it is not impossible for Pep Guardiola's team to take over the leaders of the standings. yes, anyway, I have to be realistic despite being an Arsenal fan. even so, this season is not over yet there are still a number of matches that must be played by both teams. Arsenal could slip up in their next few matches, especially City who have a busy schedule. of course, it has the potential to slip in some of the matches. in essence, the Premier League still offers interesting matches and the title race is still open for both teams. The process of selecting a new coach for Chelsea has been quite disappointing, and this could be one of the reasons behind their recent downfall. Todd may not be interested in bringing on a competent coach to manage Chelsea, as he prefer a coach who can be easily controlled. However, the best coaches usually control over the team, which is why Luis Enrique has been excluded. So, their fans have suffered by their poor decisions.
Luis Enrique isn't a good coach? He has managed Barcelona and Spain and has lot of trophies when he managed Barcelona so I think he is a great candidate as a manager for Chelsea. About coach being easily controlled, no manager will agree to a job if he is controlled by the board somehow in decisions. There has been some poor decisions and they really need to fix this by hiring someone experienced and someone with achievements. I have also heard that Chelsea players will face significant pay cuts if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League, as a form of punishment. Will this strategy turn off/on the team's performance? I think it's a silly one. That way player will lose their confidence and might try to move to some other club. |

@Docnaster and @Iroh How they performed and how their inconsistency sometimes really confused us. They can sometimes beat the stronger team but lose from the weaker team, and vice versa. But actually, they still have Salah and some other good players in the squad, so they should be much better in any game, have better achievements from match to match. but the reality is different. 😄
Funny thing is that when they really play well they win by a good margin but at times they also struggle to score a goal. Well Klopp and the board knows its not their season so they already have gave up and started preparing for next season. They lack in certain areas and once they get players good enough to play in that positions, I think they will be back again in the race. It's a very tough season for them and they still are showing some strong performances at times which is really great. I am sure they are gonna do better next season. |

Even the strongest teams in the world have bad days sometimes and they lose some points but still Arsenal is the first team in the premier league which is a good reason to say they were performing well enough during this season however they were unlucky against West Ham because of Saka missing a penalty kick.
I honestly wouldn't pin down on Saka's penalty mistake. It happens in penalty and it can be missed sometimes. We also could have tried to defend proper and avoid conceding those goals? It's not an individual mistake, it's a team one and everyone should be held responsible. It was an unlucky day for us but we can't change the result now. We can only do better in next fixtures and make the most out of it now. |
