641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Which OS do you use? on: June 28, 2011, 12:26:59 PM
Some discussions about security made me wonder which OS most people use. If you use multiple Operating Systems, choose your favorite one. If you don't know, don't answer the poll.
the most secure os is Dos  Cheesy no internet no nothing.
Its is a very long conversation about what is secure and what is not.
i use 4 distros of linux among ubundu, suse, debian, unbreakable linux Wink , windows, and some times a mac (!).
NONE of these is secure. For anything of them to be secure it would need an educated user.
if you understand what i am writing you will get my point.

644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MTGOX SO SICK OF THEIR BULLSHiT Should start a class action suite on: June 24, 2011, 04:40:58 AM
Would you rather they rush and be negligent?  You can have:

1. Security
2. Speed

Pick one.
3. TradeHill

At this point i am starting to believe that mtgox is never going to open again. this is bad for me because i liked their service (used it only once as i dont have much btc to trade). this also doesnt keep me on my toes because although i "claimed" my account and no communication has been done from mtgox , i have an EMPTY account. Good luck to those who parked their btc there.

646  Economy / Economics / Re: What is holding you from investing tons of money in this? on: June 22, 2011, 01:41:44 PM
i don't have money to invest   Grin

so because all the hashed passwords and emails were leaked. mtgox is going to authenticate accounts through emails...by entering the old password. and a new password...

then gives the option of adding additional information. like dwolla which would be most common, which u sign in from your email. whoose password recovery works through email. so if someone had access to the account becuase the mtgox password is the same as the email which is common. they could find emails from dwolla, do a password recovery to the email. and viola a malicious attack on personal mtgox accounts.

soooo fucking stupid.

Edit: i am wanting to see if my mtgox has been emptied. cant wait ::thumbs up:: thanks mtgox!
duran they've setup a second "proof" procedure. ip/bank account or whatever you can provide.
648  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Oops, hacker MT Gox email, and oops again on: June 20, 2011, 02:41:25 PM
You know that fake MT Gox email with a download, that we should delete...

I zipped up some nasty images (war/executions/suicide/be-headings, etc) and mailed it to the hacker, via that email...

It seems that when you reply, it goes to the real MT Gox... that is if the response I got is really from the MT Gox people...

response from Mark Karpeles:

what would be the point for something like that?
even if it got to the "right" hands what purpose would it serve? revenge? aaargggghhh take this picture ...
as bcpokey wrote its 'easy' to fake all of the email headers.
lets face it. sh*t happened. lets move on.
*cheers*

654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make some easy bitcoins on: June 20, 2011, 07:28:02 AM
You send me 0.0005 BTC, and I will send you 0.001 BTC, but I will do this only so many times per round. To make sure I wont just rip you off I'll give a range of the number of times I will pay out.

This round I will pay out between 3 and 5 times. Send your payments to 1CCVqTTh72goSUGzKe5w2qjrABnNtaQoFW with an address that can also receive payments

Transactions greater than 0.0005 BTC will be treated as 0.0005 BTC with a donation added. Lower transactions will be ignored

To prove that I'm not cheating as the house, post the address you sent it with as a reply.(this is optional, but recommended)
forgive me for being cautious... but why are you being so generous?
