You are still 50% exposed to BTC price, so if BTC goes down your total worth goes down as well, it just doesn't go down as much as if you were exposed 100%. If BTC price goes up your total worth will also go up (but also not as much as if you were 100% in BTC). All the bot can do is keep your exposure to the risky asset at 50% all the time.

Its important to understand that and not use this bot with wrong expectations! This is a concave strategy and as such it will underperform in strong trends but it will outperform in ranging markets, so I an use it until the next bubble begins (which will come I am 100% convinced).

Also when using it you are helping reduce volatility because you are providing a (small) resistance against every pump and dump that they have to overcome (and pay for) and so for every dollar or BTC that is allocated to such a balancing strategy it will become a little bit more expensive for the pumpers and dumpers to move the market because: (1) You are making it a little bit more expensive for them to initiate a huge move instead of helping them and (2) if it moves you are taking a little bit of their profits away (you are front-running them with your rebalancing orders), reducing their profits instead of losing money to them.

Per Tastendruck kannst Du zwischen Candlestick-Chart und Depth-Chart umschalten, rauszoomen, reinzoomen, Orders plazieren und canceln. Eigene Orders werden graphisch im Chart und im Orderbook dargestellt, es verbindet sich zu MtGox über deren streaming API, also alles was du siehst geschieht in Echtzeit.

Oh, die Existenz eines solchen Gesetzes kommt überraschend (für mich). Wie kommt es daß das noch nie im Kontext von Bitcoin diskutiert oder auch nur erwähnt wurde? Ich hab nen Vorschlag: Wie wärs Du addierst ständig alle Anteile der drei unvollständigen Maschinen zusammen und bestellst eine sobald die Zahl 100% erreicht so daß Bestellungen so früh wie möglich getätigt werden können? Wenn dann weitere hinzukommen schichtest Du die Anteile um so daß soviel wie möglich gleiches zu gleichem kommt und nur der "Verschnitt" auf geteilten Maschinen läuft, solange bis Du irgendwo wieder ne ganze draus machen kannst. Denn so wie es jetzt ist könnte es ja für ne ganze Weile bei 3 Maschinen jeweils am letzten Anteil hängen während wenn Du diese (vorübergehend) zusammenfaßt du schlimmstenfalls immer nur maximal eine unvollständige hast.

Momentan kommt wenn ich mich nicht verrechnet habe kommst Du zusammengenommen bereits auf 102% einer Saturn, könntest also schon mal Geld einsammeln und eine Saturn bestellen, später dann wenn weitere dazukommen die Anteile wieder entsprechend umschichten so daß immer nur die jeweils letzten Käufer sich zusammen eine gemischte Maschine teilen müssen (und das wär ja auch nicht schlimm, es ändert ja nichts an der zustehenden Hashrate).

The small size is perfectly ok, most often you can see already from the small thumbnail whether it contains any new information (most of the time it doesn't). You only need to click if you need to have a closer look. If you can't perceive enough details in the thumbnail to make that decision you should probably visit the eye doctor as soon as possible, it will probably get worse and you need glasses.

But it makes things easier, with the date the app knows automatically how far back to resync. Btw: old versions of bitcoinj did not accept backup files with missing date at all (at least this was the case when using it with MultiBit, haven't tried keys without dates with Android Wallet yet).

Nein, ich wollte eher folgende Frage in den Raum werfen:
Wenn ein Angreifer plötzlich auf die Idee kommt **massenhaft** Passwortrücksetzuns-Mails zu initiieren dann muss er doch einen Grund haben das zu tun, er muss dann doch einen Weg gefunden haben die Mails auch massenhaft zu lesen **ohne** noch umständlich jeden Mailaccount einzeln aufmachen zu müsen.

Wenn ich jetzt dem User einfach mal für ne Sekunde lang glaube daß tatsächlich niemand außer ihm selbst die Mail auf **normalem** Wege gelesen hat (normal = von irgendwoher ins gmail eingeloggt mit funktionierendem oder gestohlenem oder geratenem passwort) und dass sein Windows tatsächlich **nicht** trojanisiert ist dann stellt sich doch sofort die Frage: Wie ist der Angreifer dann an den Passwortrücksetzungscode gelangt?

Oder geht es vielleicht auch **ohne** den code, gibts hier vielleicht eine Lücke im Rücksetzungsvorgang so daß man die Mails gar nicht braucht, vielleicht leakt der code an anderer Stelle? Ich hab ja schon Pferde vor der Apotheke kotzen sehen!

Ich wolte keine sarkastischen Betrachtungen über allgemeine Mißstände am Rande des Themas initiieren sondern einen technisch plausiblen **möglichen** Tathergang für einen konkreten Fall rekonstruieren unter der verschärften Annahme zugunsten des Users daß dessen Rechner (und dessen Mail-Passwort) eben **nicht** kompromittiert sind. Können unter dieser verschärften Annahme die beobachteten Symptome immer noch irgendwie erklärt werden?

Schickt MtGox vielleicht die E-Mails per SMTP ohne SSL raus und ein gelangweilter Techniker bei deren ISP hat mal eben seinen Laptop an der richtigen Stelle angestöpselt um alle ausgehenden MtGox E-Mails abzufangen noch bevor sie überhaupt bei irgendeinem SMTP eingeliefert werden? Wie sonst könnte ein Angreifer massenhaft Kenntnis vom Inhalt aller MtGox Passwortrücksetzungs Mails erhalten ohne jeden User-PC oder jeden Mailaccount einzeln zu knacken?

But then whats the point in assigning names to created addresses at all if they never show up anywhere, whats the point in being able to create new incoming addresses at all if you don't recommend it? I think the question whether its recommended to backup often or to create new addresses often or not is completely unrelated to the question whether to show a human readable transaction log instead of showing meaningless unknown and unrelated cryptic addresses.

Please change it to display the name of the incoming address instead of the sender address or at least make it a config option. Even if I have only 3 incoming addresses that never change I would rather see which one of my 3 address just received a payment instead of being forced to open the transaction details every time. This would greatly reduce confusion and enhance the user experience.

No, you'd need to backup only after creation of a new address, not after every received payment to an existing address. This is not related to the question whether the broken transaction log display should be fixed.

I'm going to donate 0.5 BTC if you can fix it in the next release, I guess it would not be more than 1 line of code to make this change.

Found it. There is some more hidden undocumented voodoo:

• save the unencrypted text file into the sdcard/Download folder, this is the only folder it will recognize, the same folder where it also dumps its own export files.
• don't open it with the external file explorer, this will only trigger the encrypted import, this will work only with encrypted files (bug?). Instead do it from within the wallet app, from the menu choose the key import function and then it will list a huge number of backup files to choose from and the one in the Download folder will also be there and here it will also allow unencrypted files.
• after successful import delete this unencrypted file immediately so it won't lie around there in the Download folder where every other app can read it (alternatively use only encrypted backup files created with MultiBit)

I can't get past the import dialog where it demands a password and otherwise would not enable the OK-button, no matter how the file is named, no matter which folder it is in, no matter whether it has dates behind the keys or not.

Maybe we should discuss this in the "Bitcoin Wallet for Android" sub-forum where the developers are, maybe its a bug. I see 2 and a half possible bugs here:

* the import function does not have a proper file chooser to select the backup file, this is extremely unconventional and confusing.
* the import asks for password on unencrypted files.
* one user reports that he can get past the import dialog without password while on other devices it is grayed out.

Ok, then I did confuse it (I have moved around keys already between MultiBit and Android Wallet) or maybe they have changed something.

The alternative approach is this:

* (on your PC) start MultiBit
* ceate a new wallet
* import the file you just created (MultiBit will allow unencrypted import)
* export this wallet with password protecton (encrypted)

Note that it will export *all* keys from the active wallet, this is why I said create a new one if you don't want your entire MultiBit wallet available on Android.

* (on Android) import this password protected file into Android Wallet (move it to your SD-Card and open it or mail it to your gmail and open the attachment on Android [Edit: or save it to the Download folder and from within the wallet app use the import function])
* enter the same password you used during export from MultiBit and it should import into the Android wallet without problems.

You can also do it the other way arond and import the Android backup into a (new or existing) MultiBit wallet, so you can quickly react and move coins away if someone steals your Android device.

just create a new one with a text editor. Then save it to the SD-card, then use an android file explorer, navigate to the file, choose "open with" and select "Bitcoin Key Import" from the list.

After successful import delete the file from the SD card again so you don't have an unencrypted key lying around there where everybody can read it!

You can alternatively follow the other tutorials to import the key into a MultiBit wallet and then make an *encrypted* export from MultiBit and import that into the Android Wallet, so you don't need to move unencrpted files around on your Phone.

This folder is protected and owned by the wallet app, nobody can access it except the app itself, root and the system. The only official way to get keys in and out is the wallet key backup/restore function of the wallet app and the backup files are 100% compatible with the backup files from MultiBit.

It has a key import function. The file format is the same as the one from MultiBit (because both use the same engine), so all tutorials about how to import keys into MultiBit that explain the key import format should apply here too. Its a simple text file with one key per line, each line consists of the key and the date at which this key was created (so it knows how far back to rescan the blockchain)

I just wanted to open an account and deposit a few BTC there (just for fun, because I have a lot of them), I went through all the hassle of setting up an account and activated 2fa which took me quite some time (because initially I had a typo in my email address and could not change the address without first receiving an email to that wrong address, so I needed to make another account) with all needed password and 2FA key setup and backup only to be told that I cannot deposit bitcoins at coinlenders without first also sponsoring their friends at inputs.io who seem to have an even more ridiculous signup procedure with even more unreadable captchas and a mysterious self chosen PIN instead of a proper 2FA (which is not even checked when logging in!) and at this point (15 minutes later) I was fed up with that crap and decided to keep my bitcoins for myself.

If they want my bitcoins then they should get rid of that forced online wallet bullshit, investors with a lot of money usually don't want to be forced to sign up with some crappy web-wallet service only to transfer some of their coins from A to B, they usually want to use their own wallet.
