Most likely they will deliver after 1-2 years, so expected profit is -99.999% of invested capital.

I very doubt the mankind will be able to colonize (terraform) other planets while still using money and have market-based capitalism. It is almost 100% there will be resource-based economy on the Earth when we will be able to walk on the Mars without suits.
644  Economy / Gambling / Re: Peerbet Android app - free Bitcoins for new users on: September 09, 2013, 06:06:03 PM
Is this still going on? If so, I signed up with jeffreylin.
You should ask Bit777.
645  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: KnCMiner EU company VAT/TAX number on: September 09, 2013, 01:17:16 AM
I don't know exactly (need to ask a professional), but in Latvia a company registration number seems to be not the same as VAT number. The second is being assigned separately after request and review of the company and let to claim VAT returns (inspectors can visit the place where you operate your business to check that it is real and trustworthy). These rules were imposed to prevent fraudulent VAT returns which are rather common in Latvia. Bitcoin is not regulated in Latvia at all, so I very doubt that our state's revenue service will ever assign VAT number to the Bitcoin mining company.

May be you know more about it, e.g. other EU counties that allow easier ways to get VAT number?
646  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: KnCMiner EU company VAT/TAX number on: September 08, 2013, 12:36:27 AM
If you are a company in the EU with a VAT number then you don't have to pay the tax.
Does it means that if I leave this field blank the VAT will be added to the final price? (I tried and on the last page final price was shown without additional taxes).
I want to ship into EU country (Latvia).
647  Bitcoin / Mining / KnCMiner EU company VAT/TAX number on: September 07, 2013, 07:03:01 PM
I see that KnCMiner asks EU company VAT/TAX number on checkout page and would like to know how does it affects purchase?
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will never extend more on: September 05, 2013, 07:18:55 PM
Current fees: 0,005 btc = 67,25 USD cents.
You are wrong with decimal point - default fee is 0.0005 BTC.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC will never extend more on: September 05, 2013, 03:02:30 PM
what I just said before (about scammers). Bitcoins is unsafe for customers, because transactions are irreversible.
Cash payments also are irreversible.

because it is not convenient to use.
Blockchain.info online wallet is as easy to use as online banking systems.

because the fees are too high
and confirmations too slow.
You can accept micro-transactions without waiting any confirmations, it is not just worth for scammer to perform an attack.
Off-blockchain services like Inputs.io offer zero fee transfers.

P.S. I think next major adopter of Bitcoin will be porn industry because elimination of the chargebacks is great advantage for these companies.

I hope they will appear in Latvia also.
652  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electricity prices on: August 31, 2013, 07:11:42 PM
man you guys are hilarious. I pay 0,31-0,33$/kwh in Germany. I would love industrial rates but they start to be cost effective at around 1 Gigawatt -.-
Small businesses like restaurants also pay >$0.3 per kWh?
653  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electricity prices on: August 31, 2013, 05:31:15 PM
This is surely not the kind of thing you would be able to sign up for without being a registered business and perhaps a visit or two from your local energy supplier to see exactly what you needed the power for...
Is it a problem for miners here? I know some countries have prohibitory barriers to prevent registering new businesses (like security deposit $100K or so), but I will be very surprised if Australia is one of them Shocked
654  Economy / Gambling / Re: PeerBet.org - Play Without House Edge! on: August 31, 2013, 03:46:41 PM
Wait why are you posting this now - did peerbet change owners or something?
You are right, I sold Peerbet to Bit777.
655  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [Dailybitcoins.org] Bitcoin faucet, sponsored by ads on: August 31, 2013, 02:14:53 AM

656  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Daily Bitcoins - New advertising type with efficiency superior to banner ads! on: August 29, 2013, 08:33:50 PM
Now you can generate redeemable voucher codes to sell or transfer funds from your advertiser's account.
657  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Difficulty rising but not price? on: August 25, 2013, 04:01:57 AM
you can see it here

This is an estimated but I think its very accurate.
I think this calculation is based on GPUs which are not more profitable now.
658  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electricity prices on: August 24, 2013, 04:11:28 PM
No, its just residential.  Commercial and industrial get cheaper as you use more.
Are tariffs in CA restricted to geographical areas (i.e. some areas are only residential, other ones only commercial)?
In my city (Riga, Latvia) many multistory buildings have both residents and businesses, so you can declare your apartment as place for business any time and vice versa.
659  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Electricity prices on: August 24, 2013, 03:57:44 PM
"By California law, all of the state's investor-owned gas and electric utilities must charge residential customers more per energy unit as the customer's energy use increases. This policy gives customers a financial incentive to conserve energy. Customers who are able to maintain usage at levels within the lowest-priced "tiers" of usage will pay considerably lower average rates per unit of energy used and much lower total bills than customers with usage in higher tiers."  http://www.pge.com/en/mybusiness/rates/rateinfo/howratesset.page
In the EU we have similar policies, but they seems don't apply to businesses (even to smaller ones, so you don't have to qualify for industrial consumption level).
Is California the same, or do small (non-industrial) business consumers (which most miners are) have to pay these "green" tariffs?
