Is not Google Satan incarnate?
It is everywhere, so shouldn't it rather be Satan discarnate?

I will have to consider that; do you think I should?
You talking to me?

Well, I think I've lost track and is it any wonder?

I wonder; Did you even have a track to start with?  Wink

Now that wasn't nice was it?

Did the winky at the end clarify that I was joking? (I hope so!)

I wish everyone just clicked the link. It'd make this thread a lot better.  Roll Eyes

I did click it. However there have been some anti-vaxxers posting in here and I reckoned I might as well link to the consequences of their choice.
It was not aimed at you in particular Cheesy

Well done, anti-vaxxers:

They fucking don't.

If you'd click the link you'd see that. There, saved you a click.
646  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: June 27, 2014, 02:11:03 AM

On top of the above, my Trans Am...

Explains a lot.

China and Russia own the network all while the focus of BFL is on shills and diversions. 3000 units a day coming off a single line and 1Mega Watt mining farms being readied for miners right now in China with the lowest power and purpose mining built infrastructure costs in the world. BFL and Eclipse are only very minor players in the bitcoin world. Overpriced and inefficient BFL chips will never be a significant part of the network ever again BFL will fade and be relegated to sidelines of the mining bitcoin economy. They are insignificant now but the community as a whole here hasn't realized it yet I guess?

BFL owns the pre-order (imho scam) market. Until another company steals that position from the anti pre-order crusade will focus on them.
647  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Here's a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at your Monarch! on: June 27, 2014, 01:34:52 AM
nibbknot is obviously someone's alt account. Their agenda is very unclear. It could be bcp going through great lengths to get some info out while making sure it will not be connected to him. That seems far fetched though.

I changed my mind about nibbknot being Phinnaeus Gage. I don't think it's PG. PG was last active the 17th. nibbknot registered the 21st. Also, if Phinnaeus Gage was posting as nibbknot what would stop him from also keeping his other posts going? Probably PG is on some hiatus. And that is a separate mystery.

There's so much smoke I can't even see the mirrors!
648  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ross Ulbricht 140k bitcoins on: June 27, 2014, 12:11:31 AM
SO WHY THE FUCK WOULD SOMEONE WITH THAT MUCH MONEY DUMP THOSE COINS AND LOSE TENS OF MILLIONS?

I hate to say this out loud - but I had this scary thought...

This would actually be a cheap investment for the banking system if they collectively thought that doing this was enough to kill bitcoin forever as a competitor.

Given current market volatility and liquidity depth, I imagine a large tranche of coins like this is more likely to sell at below market price than the 30K SR coins being auctioned in next few hours. A 50% discount to market would not be out of the question for 140K coin block.

But let's assume for arguments sake (and to keep my maths easy), that they fetch $500 each. So 140K coins would be $70M. Even at market ($600) it's only $84M worth of coins. A lot to you and I maybe, but a drop in the ocean to banks... after all they can simply create the money!

I can imagine a cartel of 10 or 20 large banks chipping in say $10M each, buying the 140K coins and then dumping them onto the market over a short few days or weeks to hammer the Bitcoin price down to $xx level or lower. Protect their monopoly on the banking system and write off any loss to minimise taxes - it's a win-win for the banks, isn't it?

I'm bullish on bitcoin and usually stay away from tinfoil-hat conspiracy theories - but this scares me...

There must be a hole or two in this thought bubble - anyone??

That would be just the banks pissing money away. Dropping 140K coins probably will make the price dip for a bit. But it will recover quickly. No one in their right mind would do that.

650  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ross Ulbricht 140k bitcoins potential auction and market crash in future. on: June 26, 2014, 04:59:23 AM

So if 30k bitcoins from the current FBI auction of silk road coins has contributed to the bitcoin price crashing hard - if the FBI win their case and get to sell Ross Ulbricht's 140k bitcoin stash will the bitcoin price literally crash?

Thoughts people?

Anyone have any updates about Ross Ulbricht's case?

What are his prospects of success?

If his chances of success are slim then smart bitcoin traders should be aware that the market could potentially flash crash at any moment depending on the outcome/announcement by law enforcement. We now have a precedent that American law enforcement are eager to sell seized bitcoins and rake in the cash.

Did I miss something again? When did bitcoin crash hard?
651  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: I no longer work for Butterfly Labs (BFL) on: June 26, 2014, 04:51:40 AM
Just wondering... PG, is nibbknot your sockpuppet?

I posted before that I am not PG and don't have sockpuppets (had to look it up to make sure it meant what I thought it meant which is other accounts). Don't know if PG does but ask him. And why do people keep asking me this?

1) You're obviously hiding your identity
2) PG is awfully quiet lately
3) It seems PG would have access to the information you have
4) PG apparantly got paid off to stop ragging on BFL
5) Then PG of course wouldn't be able to keep this info quiet for too long... Making a sock puppet to get the info out seems par for the course on this forum.
6) Your writing style is quite different, but there are still some characteristics that I would attribute to PG

Is there anyone thats not a NEWBIE buy from x-hash ?

Nope.

Sorry, I don't know which customer is newbie or not, but if you need reviews from people with higher degree, I guess I can try to ask if they are full member.

Don't do it for my sake. I'm not buying mining equipment at the moment. Also to me newbie / hero member only reflects how many posts someone made and how long they've been around. If  some hero member that I do not trust claims to have gotten a miner from you I will trust you less.

What buyers want is convincing evidence that you're not scamming them. Find a way to provide that. The easiest way is by answering their questions. And in many cases that means jumping through some hoops. Once you've done that trust will build up, more people will buy and it's xhash to the MOOOOON!!!!one!1!!

Until then you're considered a scam. I try to err on the side of safety with this.
653  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forget Password - Bitcoin Core Wallet - 100 BTC INSIDE ! on: June 26, 2014, 03:39:11 AM
This smells of scam.

It's probably not even his own wallet. He's trying to sell something that he doesn't own. He didn't even steal it.

Would be funny to try that with a physical object. Find an expensive bicycle parked somewhere and try to sell it claiming you lost the keys to the lock.

I interest in btc long time ago. But now i have money for btc trading.

Are bitcoiners aware that the "hash" used in the bitcoin protocol cannot be smoked?
LOL.. But in real life terms.. Can be smoked.
Is that supposed to be a question?

Wouldn't he be credited anyway had it been a browser problem? I mean, the screenshot shows his current time, so I guess the browser sent the data properly.
Maybe it's due to a delay between the moment the site "freezes" the time and the request is sent? (the time might be different, depending on how you coded it)

As you can see on screenshot Unhashed string is 2:53:01, but lucky time is 2:53:47.
It's very strange, because lucky time returns from server after request and is the same
as in hashed string.

I can easily modify the source html to display anything I want there and post a screenshot claiming my winning wasn't paid. I assume your "secret" in the hash allows you to validate these claims.
