641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - 0.8.8.6 on: February 01, 2015, 02:37:26 AM
Is there any differences between Monero and Darknote?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=788916.0

Darknote has all things that Monero has. But monero does not have good price as Darknote.

DarkNote was previously DuckNote, and was basically instamined by the CN crew who realized that the BCN premine would never sell so they tried to make a new coin with a crazy distribution, then rebadge it and resell it. It's more or less the same as BCN.

That is untrue statement. But you tell it with such a confidence, only 2 ways here: you are a liar or you are a paranoid. But any way you are stupit, sorry, but it is true. i will explain:
1. You can research the XDN difficulty chart,  ask forum folks here about mining XDN since 1st block. Ask smooth, seems he liked XDN and mined it since first blocks and he can confirm that.
2. "Insta" , instant - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant  - "An instant is an infinitesimal moment in time, a moment whose passage is instantaneous."

It takes 1 month to reach each reward halving. And media was absolutely active in the very first 3 months after launch.
DarkNote is improving CryptoNote with less transaction size (by reward structure), new state-of-the-art cryptography with encrypted end-to-end messaging and eventually advanced DarkNote GUI wallet (client). While you just talking blablabla and blaming devs around your. NO CryptoNote improvements from the side of Monero, NO new features, nothing, just a  bullshit talking and blaming. All you can do is just a services around original source code, like web wallets. All XMR success is made with anger and mad sadness about your own helplessness in coin development.

3. It is very interesting, that you are blaming DarkNote in instamine, again, after such a fair launch, while you Monero guys actually have a serious problems with initial botnets mining and difficulty jump caused by it. Looks smart, isn't it - Botnets+Black piar+Bag holders = Monero.
"Suspicion always haunts the guilty mind" William Shakespeare

P.S. Initially we  liked everything about Monero, we even had 2 letters for you guys with cooperation offer and our thoughts about CN technology, but we decided to look at your actions first, now we are happy that it was done, and after reading your confidence lie i can only call your coin "morono", i hope you understand the roots of my thoughts: XMR is bagholded, blackpiared and botnet mined.

P.P.S. Every time i will find such a groundless accusations from aside of a liar i will parry the attack, au revoir.

I bought first book http://www.thebullofheaven.com/  paid for with darkNote!

http://darknotebooks.weebly.com/

I must say, that is a Historical event. Devs and community proud of the first DarkNote purchase. We are proud it was a book. If you would be so kind, we would like to know some kind of report on this purchase, respecting your privacy, for the History and media, that would be really great. Thank you.

Hello.

I’m really fond of CryptoNote technology and have mined several CN-based coins since launch. I’ve been following cryptomarket for a lot of time and and I do consider XDN very promising coin. Current crypto trends are favoring technologically advanced coins and XDN is confirming this statement, price is going up.

I’ve decided to invest some of my funds in XDN infrastructure. I would like to open marketplace or a shop that will accept XDN as a primary currency and I’m looking for a co-founder. It has to be experienced and active person that would create, promote and support the idea.

Amount of the cash investment is highly negotiable, depends purely from the scale of the project and the result. I will also provide my knowledge of economics and marketing. For additional details please ask me here, through PM or contact me via email: richardorside at gmail.com

Also, any kind of requests about shop theme are welcome in this thread.

Basic store idea. XDN themed products: t-shirts, cups, baseball hats etc.

This on top of having custom USB wallets for cold and hot storage. I think if POS is still an idea, the devs could potentially look into putting together a Raspberry Pi Custom OS to make staking easier.

Indeed. It would be a good addition to the store.

Also, this store idea got me thinking. I'm ready to sell any Steam games for XDN with a small commission. Give me a PM if you want any.

Could establish a website if there will be any demand.

Great idea, please, start the website.

All new XDN businesses will be supported by developers, please, PM me.

For those who like gambling, there is now an IRC games channel in #luckyducky, where you can play dice and blackjack for XDN.

Quick start:
!help
!commands

Dice:
!dice 50 2   -- bet 50 XDN with even odds (x2 payout).
!commands dice   -- for more details

Blackjack:
!blackjack 100   -- bet 100 XDN on a game of blacjkack.
!commands blackjack   -- for more details

See also !help payment for info about depositing XDN to your luckyducky account, and !help withdraw for how to withdraw your XDN.

Both dice and blackjack games are provably fair. See !dice:fair and !blackjack:fair for details.
Betting limits are currently 10 to 5000 XDN. House edge is 1% for dice, and around 0.5% for blackjack.

luckyducky is also a tipbot, !help tipping for info.

Nice! Thank you  for your stuff.

I downloaded the wallet however it crashes whenever I try to use more than 2 cpu's. Is this a common issue?

We discovered that issue, it affects only core i3 cpu, soon we will upload updated version with the fixes. Thank you.

I have a suggestion for a wallet feature for XDN... For all cryptonote coins for that matter who take up GUI wallets. It's very easy for some of us to create a payment id in linux or elsewhere using openssl, etc... I think it would make things alot easier for some if there were a button in wallet to create the payment id for them.

I could easily see this feature in the next XDN wallet release - *hint hint*

Smiley

Thank you for your suggestion, but can you please describe the use case of Payment ID in GUI?
XDN GUI Client is usually a stuff for personal use, there is no need to have a Payment ID generated in GUI.

Can we verify that this link was actually posted by dev and not a hijacked account?

I get this reading from the w64 download via NOD32:
MSIL/Injector.HFK trojan

Or can someone verify that this is/isn't a false positive?

All links are valid, Sir. There are no viruses inside the client.

I downloaded the wallet however it crashes whenever I try to use more than 2 cpu's. Is this a common issue?

Please, specify all you hardware and software specifications.

Usually it is better to use "CPU/2" e.g. for 8 core (hyper threading) Core i7 use 4 in miner or 3.

I am on a windows 8.1 laptop (running latest wallet version)  intel I-3 CPU.

Last night I got it to mine on two cores and it worked fine but now anytime I try to start mining the wallet crashes. I only had my AV running but I made an exception to the wallet and all components of it beforehand.

I see, if you will try to put 1 CPU core instead of 2 is there any problem?

All pool owners should understand, that now they are making the most valuable investment in their future, because XDN has a minimum block reward value and will always keep PoW element, so pools will be in profit for a very long time, much longer than any other CN coin.

How to mine...?

1. You can try to mine just with you DarkNote GUI
Pool miner is inside GUI wallet, just choose pool and press start mine button

2. Or you can mine on number of pools with any CPU mining software you like.
You can try http://minergate.com, because they got user friendly stand alone miner.

Using minergate ...doesnt seem to tax my cpu.  temps at 40C. Idles around 30 is this normal? running 7 cores. e3 cpu.

PS. Thanks for the help.

Try to use number of your CPU threads/2, in your case 4 to use full power of your CPU.
