The US Securities and Exchange Commission asked Coinbase to halt trading in all cryptocurrencies other than bitcoin prior to suing the exchange, in a sign of the agency’s intent to assert regulatory authority over a broader slice of the market.

This is a very interesting interview.

It is amazing how Government already considers Bitcoin totally different than altcoins. Imagine what could happen to Bitcoin and altcoin's price if something like this happens in US?

Maybe in the future Bitcoin will legally become very different from the other altcoins, which may have a positive impact on price. Bitcoin is already considered a commodity, but that didn't make much difference so far. But I believe it will in the long run.

So they will treat bitcoin and altcoin differently. This can be good for the bitcoin price but could be a problem for the whole industry. The government let thousands of altcoin project to grow now they wants to impose stricter rules on altcoin. This will obviously slower the growth of altcoins and strict regulation could be the reason for higher taxes and more reporting required for all crypto currencies. I am afraid to say this will causes uncertainty and instability in the bitcoin market as well which will make institutional investors less confident. Regulators are concern about the risk that those altcoin can bring but they should find a fair way to support innovation as well.

To steal funds from people you should have technical knowledge and find an innovative way that sounds genuine or they are not even aware about it that it's a pure scam attempt which is what they have been doing it from a long time.We come across many cases where we see new ways of scamming and hacking and they also know how to bypass the tracing like if exchanges also block their address.

So this is why it's always suggested that you also be updated with latest technical knowledge to safeguard your funds from them or even better if you store them on airrgapped devices that are not connected to internet. You can use dummy address on which you can have minimal funds you need in case of usage so if anyone gain access to it they don't steal all from you but your security depends on you as hackers are always smart to come up with better ideas.

You are right. The only way to be one step ahead of the scammer is be updated about latest technical advancement of the industry. Using a offline devices can add an extra layer of protection from the scammer. Furthermore everyone should change their account password in a regular basis and always keep their 2FA on to enhance their security against any potential threats.

643  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to reach 50 merit on: August 02, 2023, 01:32:08 PM
Earning merit is really hard this days , since there are lots of things they consider for post to be meritable,
I Have been here for a year now, and still have a lot things to learn, but thank you for those who supported me to reach for where I am now,
but for me this is still a long journey, but its all worth it, thank you for appreciating my post, and giving me information's that i don't know, it will help me along the way on achieving my goals in crypto and this forum.
To be able to share and help others, those who only need a merit to reach a certain rank, post your most merit post, other post that you think is meritable is welcome and I'll review your post , please don't get mad if you don't received merit, keep learning, and don't get frustrated on setbacks.

It depends on you knowledge and the quality of the post. Mostly people send merits whey they found a post useful. I can see you are very pretty well since getting 50 merits is not so easy for a newbie. But when you get used to it you will rank up fast. I can still remember my journey to become full member which still amaze me.

Just don't be obsessed with getting merits. Maintain your post quality you will get merits and rank up eventually.
644  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Even in escrow can get scammed :| on: August 02, 2023, 01:25:55 PM
i understand but by refusing escrow people start thinking i am a scammer ,

i don't mind use it with accounts ( i can change passwords later)

but the voucher is a bit problem

Using escrow is a old and reliable methods of doing P2P transactions. In a online transaction there is no way to trust somebody if he is not well recognized or you personally know him. In case of voucher i think there is a way to charge back the money even after few days but if you send any kind of crypto assets its gone forever. There will not be any way to get it back so it is bit risky to do P2P trade for a voucher.

There were some members who were actively making posts on our discord server about hiring moderators in some kind of NFT-related discord server. At first, i thought it was just a spam message and start ignoring it.
As a head moderator of that Discord server, you should delete those spam messages and ban those members. Ignore such messages and members is not good moderation.

I have deleted those spam message and even blocked those accounts. I have tightened the security after that so that other members won't fall for this type of trap as well. Still these spammer come back with more accounts to spam the server which is pretty annoying.

After few days one guy messaged my inbox by saying he is very impressed with my work managing discord server so now he wants to hire me into their discord server as a community moderator.
DM first is very early signal of potential scammers.
No project will find moderators by joining other projects' Discord servers to do head hunting.

Usually my community members DM me sometimes if they need any help. That scammer also came for help and try to be my friends. There was no way to suspect him as a scammer.

Not surprised at all, and thanks so much for share here your story.
Why not create a topic also in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 scam accusation board maybe providing some details / screenshot and so on? For sure this can help other people since it's an uncommon way for a scam....

I would love to do that but the problem is deleted those data as soon as i found out they were scammers. I should have take some screenshot before clear those chatting history.  I posted it here because i think a lot of newbies use this board so they might notice and be cautious.

Well, someone in your field of work should know how to make security a top priority because if, by mistake, anything leads to your security being compromised, it can cause losses not only to you but also to others. My brother also had a similar experience where he was asked to submit some country IDs, a resident permit, and a utility bill before he could be accepted to work just as a telegram moderator, but he was wise enough not to submit those documents, and later it was discovered that those guys were just scammers. Who knows what they were going to use those IDs for? Everyone who is just into any online-related work or investment really needs to take their security seriously; otherwise, it can ruin their reputation, depending on what the case is, or cause them to lose their assets.

I do know another incident where a scammer tries to hack the victim's computer by asking him to be a game tester in their P2E game. The victim was a professional gamer and was not aware of the security risk from crypto-related projects. He was lucky that he uses VMware to run that games on his computer. He later found that wasn't any games instead it was an application that can inject malware into the system and gain access to that system.
648  Other / Beginners & Help / Scammers are getting innovative. on: August 01, 2023, 05:40:00 PM
I wants to share one of my stories where some people try to scam my Discord server. At first, i need to give a quick intro about my work. I am a full time community manager in discord and i am working with a project where i am the head moderator. Now lets get to the main story.

There were some members who were actively making posts on our discord server about hiring moderators in some kind of NFT-related discord server. At first, i thought it was just a spam message and start ignoring it. After few days one guy messaged my inbox by saying he is very impressed with my work managing discord server so now he wants to hire me into their discord server as a community moderator. For being a professional discord community moderator i show interest and start asking about his project. In the meanwhile, he invite in into a group he created where his so called boss wants to talk with me. After doing some general conversation he said he is interested and wants to take an interview of me before making any job contract. So we start talking through voice call and he asked me some basic moderation related questions.

It was just like a professional job interview and there was no way to be vigilant till this points. After the interview, he offered me a handsome amount of money that i can not reject so i accepted his offer. He sent a url and told me i need to fill up this form right now with my details before we can make the contract. That URL looks pretty normal to me so i clicked it and start filling the form.  But when i tried to click submit button it written there is a problem with the submit button so drag the url of the submit button to your browser's bookmark bar to submit the form. When i drag that button i have noticed there is a script written in there. In the meanwhile, i was still connected with that guy in voice call and he was constantly pushing me to do the work fast. I disconnected from that call and delete cookies from my browser. After some investigation, i found out that there was a javascript written in there which will give that scammer access to my browser and my discord account. Furthermore i found out they are a group of people who hack Moderators account into a discord server and post fake airdrop promotion to scam people.

Crypto space fast-paced technological innovation to bring simplicity and add more security to human life. So scammers are also finding new ways to scam people. Do not fall for the same kind of trap if you are a moderator in any crypto project. You might lose your server and job as well.

650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which of this is plagiarism ? on: July 29, 2023, 09:13:42 AM
I have read about plagiarism in the forum which is a great offense here and anyone who is caught will get banned from the from. If someone wants to copy and paste here,he must provide a link to that which he has copied from.

I don't know if someone wants to use a picture on the internet without providing a link to that picture, if that user will be banned for his action or I must also provide the link to that picture which I used. Is using someone else picture without providing the link also plagiarism.

Using AI generated post, which I know that is not encouraged in this forum, what will be the penalty for such action,is this the same as plagiarism ?
I need clarification please, so that I can last long here.
Gracia.
For me, i think A.I generated is plaigarism because like chatgpt i think that a.i site is getting sources each site in google so it's illegal to use chat gpt in this forum and you will get banned by using this. You guys who using ChatGPT and thinking that you're helping, no you're not because thats not your own words and also you're not sincere helping other people so the people who uses a.i site should be ban in this forum !

Do we have any direct guideline of how to use chat gpt in the forum is if its totally illegal to use in this forum? Chat Gpt can be used to find data and source faster. You just needs to verify those data before using it. But my question is there any specific rules about chat GPT into these forum?
651  Other / Off-topic / Re: NASA Gives ICON $57 Million to Build a 3D Printer for Structures on the Moon on: December 07, 2022, 06:56:31 PM
Well, correct me if I am wrong..... but for the fusion to take place, would they not have to burn a lot of oxygen too? (Fire needs oxygen to burn ...right?)

A better method would possibly be to just build a underground settlement with a small window to the stars and the Sun for solar power. That way, you have much less exposure to the cold and elements (corrosion) and you burn less oxygen.

I hope they will also create a Moon coin for a currency, because work that are done from home....can also be done from the Moon... and a Moon currency can compete with a Mars coin in the future.  Grin

As far as I have heard, scientists have researched that the moon has layers of ice, in this case, we can melt these layers and provide oxygen if we want to. We would be far from our most important energy sources if we stayed underground. Energy would be the most valuable commodity anywhere outside of Earth. So it seems more appropriate to build surfaced inhabitants than make an underground moon city.
652  Other / Politics & Society / Re: To save economy and value of money ww3 must start on: December 07, 2022, 06:46:43 PM
Ww3 must start as war or big Crisis Are natural process after hyper inflation.
The war can reset world economy.
So for war there russia and with who ?
Russia can go to war with EU UK or USA But only one of them can be choosen.
So this time look like russia will go war with EU If war in EU zone then USA and UK economy Will be booming.

Europe was the most affected by World War I and II. After the war, European countries took considerable initiatives to enrich and strengthen their economies and as a result, we can see Europe established as a strong economic region, but this does not mean that another war is necessary. We already know that America The belligerent countries like to start World War III so that they can defeat and subdue Russia and China with their powerful armies will cause the whole world to suffer because all the power of the world will be concentrated in one country as it happened after World War II.

Russia is relatively strong militarily compared to other countries but its weak economy is the biggest obstacle to establishing itself as a superpower. In collusion, they want to weaken Russia as much as possible temporarily because America's only rival in Europe is Russia, and through this, America is making substantial profits by selling billions of dollars of arms to Ukraine, which has boosted America's economy.
653  Economy / Economics / Re: Share Your Best Money Advice Based on Personal Experience on: December 05, 2022, 04:43:21 PM
I'd go first -  Stay out of debt as much as you can.

Sometimes debt can save your wealth from burning up. You should always be careful about how much you are going to borrow. That should be lower than your total wealth because if something bad happens you can repay your debt by selling your wealth. Big corporations and businesses grow by taking loans. The big corporation even banks took loans from us to do their business. Debt is not always bad and it depends on what you are intending to do with your borrowed money if you are planning to buy a house or car it's certainly a bad idea.

Another piece of advice I want to add up is not to save your money in the bank. Invest and reinvest in stock, metal, real estate, crypto, etc. As long as your money is idle it's losing its value. So let your money work for you and grow itself.
654  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency in Central Bank Reserves - DoE, Harvard on: November 28, 2022, 06:12:48 PM
Graduate from department of economics Matthew Ferranti recently published this paper that describes how bitcoin can serve as a sanction hedge, alternatively to gold, and especially if acquiring gold shares isn't sufficient for the respective central banks, which does present some interest: https://blackhatcoiner.com/Cryptocurrency_in_Central_Bank_Reserves.pdf (source)

I think Russia also seems interested in developing a crypto exchange. Countries like Iran and Russia could use cryptocurrencies to avoid sanctions and keep their international trade running. It's more convenient than using gold as a medium of exchange for international trade. Many countries are unhappy about the hyperinflation of the USD and are eager to find an alternative.
655  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is likely to head towards a price of $13,000 on: November 28, 2022, 12:23:35 PM
Seeing conditions like this of course always makes us worried, especially if we have large assets, a year ago I have assets of around $30k which I think is large, this make me difficult to sleep and every day check prices at least 3 times, this makes me uncomfortable so I sold about $25k and left $5000 and due to the drop it's now around $2200.

If you sell some of your BTC in the top then you have a chance to 3X those portfolio sizes. You should be happy now because you have done better than many big institutions who rekt and tumbling. As long as you are holding BTC in your portfolio you are a smart investor and if you manage to increase that portfolio along the way then you are a super smart investor. Wink
656  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 28, 2022, 08:29:24 AM

FTX was purchased at $22. So now you have done very few shows. Thus I ate e loss in all coins and now my situation is critical. Each coin was bought by me for 22 dollars 18 cents.

This happens when you think DCL is the core component of the game. BTC is not crypto but without BTC crypto is nothing. So if you really want to get the Holy Grail then invest a very small portion of it from your portfolio. It's like all or nothing situation so it's up to you whether you want to gamble all of your shit to find Holy Grail or stay with something that survived all the bear markets in the past.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Standard, The Ultimate decentralized stablecoin & lending protocol on: November 27, 2022, 08:29:24 AM
Great questions.
Initially, we are only on ETH but we are working on a polygon staking option too. We are also partnering with a bunch of different yield farming dapps on Polygon so that will come.

Yeah reward will be in sEURO to start with but eventually, we will have other options. especially when we start rolling out other sFIAT's like sUSD, sINR, sAUD, sGBP and so on.

Regarding people dumping rewards, yeah that could happen but it would happen after the staking period ends and we will roll them out in staggered tranches of new staking pools.
There are also soooo many use cases and yield farming ops coming for TST so the smart hodlers should understand that.

Dumping the reward would be useless as well as there's no liquidity for your token and so the point is with so much money you have been collected before and was there a plan to add at least some thousands usd as liquidity?

Any plan to be listed in the centralized exchange site? That will be far important. You can develop so many good features but without any users and that must be useless. There must be unique investors that must come to increase the value for TST.

I think the liquidity pool you are talking about is not an official listing. Some community members launch a bunch of pools without enough liquidity so that they can buy TST cheaply from dumpers. TST IDO price was 0.054$ so why investors will sell their tokens with a loss in some unofficial liquidity pool? That doesn't make any sense. So it will be better to wait for the official listing from the team.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Standard, The Ultimate decentralized stablecoin & lending protocol on: November 25, 2022, 02:38:49 PM

Now that you have a bunch of sweet sweet TST, stake them for a 20% API. first in best dressed!

Your project pretty interesting. These 20% API is fixed and if there is no cap then this will drain your treasury pretty quick. If your treasury has a limits then how you plan to keep TST from out of circulation? Because people will sell off their TST holding if they can not get any rewards. These staking has any locking period or anyone can stake and unstake anytime they wants to?
659  Economy / Economics / Re: 2022 has been one of the most significant eventful years of crypto history. on: November 19, 2022, 02:29:16 PM
Every year is an eventful year for cryptocurrency history.  2022 isn't the only year where huge exchanges and company went bankrupt or hacked.  The cryptocurrency is active and colorful all through out the year, every year.

One thing I am quite certain about is that the more money generation Z will make, the more crypto or at least freedom related business ideas they will make possible. It means, the "financial system" or the financial establishment will slowly be them.

I think it is the more money generation x wanted to accumulate, the more fraud and scam-related business will be created to milk the unsuspecting investors of their money.

2022 got the attention of mainstream media because it's a lot of money this time. Only an exchange loses over 50B when terra luna's loss was 60B. Many country's reserves is not half of this size. But media reports about FTX scam events look biased when they are blaming CZ for this to happen. That ponzi scam is nothing new in the crypto industry but the victim is relatively new and falls for this.
660  Economy / Economics / Re: Do your work. on: November 19, 2022, 02:23:59 PM
Invest your saving in precious metals like gold and silver or digital assets like bitcoin, or it can be in some potential stock or it can be in real estate. Invest your money where ever you want. Just do not keep it in a bank. The Bank interest rate is not higher than the inflation. You are losing money not gaining it. The point is to invest even if your saving is negligible.

It is good advice, thank you. Investing in gold and silver is a good investment, but it is not as profitable as Bitcoin, but it is okay to put part of our money in both investments. Bank benefits are not feasible, so putting our money in banks is like freezing and saving money only, but if we do something like a project or business with this money without putting it and crediting it in a bank will be a good idea as you will be the manager of your project and your business and you will have the full percentage of profit without anyone sharing the money with you, Through the surplus money you need from these businesses, you can invest in cryptocurrencies and trade, where with time you can double your capital.

Investing is always a great idea to increase our wealth. But you need to know that business is not always profitable. I believe people would rather double their money than put it in the bank, but they are aware that business is risky, and not every investment is profitable.
Like cryptocurrency investing, business is not for everyone and those who tend to be risk-averse will choose to go to work and save money in the bank. It's really hard to give advice or explain to those people that it's better to understand investing than depositing money in a bank.

I know there is a category of people who do not want to take any kind of risk with their money. They just want to keep their money in a bank and take interest every month. Why people would take risk of losing money when they can get guaranteed rewards somewhere else? But what they are not seeing is they are losing the chance for potential rewards too.

Banks can double the money but inflation would eat those values. There is no point in keeping your money ideal in a vault and losing its buying power every year. CashFlow management can double your money faster than a bank.
We can't deny the fact that there are still lots of people who can't deal with the risks of crypto investment so they stay on the traditional way of investing with banks. They prefer lower profits just to have an assurance that their funds are safe. Nowadays, if we want to maximize our gains and make money from our assets, we should be brave enough to take the risk and embrace the investment opportunities that crypto could offer. Relying on banks alone for profit will never be enough and won't make us money grow.
